I was here working yet they looked after me like a guest. Brilliant people.
Great food and atmosphere. Often have some good deals on open table
I really don't know where to start, the first impression was quite good due to the decor and how we were greeted. For some reason we had to wait several minutes before we could be seated, during this time we were asked and suggested to buy a drink several times. When the host arrived to direct us to our table he asked if we had ordered any drinks aswell.
Our table was close to the scene where a band was playing VERY loud jazz music. It was very hard to talk with others due to the high volume, we asked to be seated somewhere else which the host only shook his head.
We ordered a soft drink and a glass of whisky before our meals arrived but they never arrived. The butler came over to our table with a champagne bottle which we didn't order and asked us what we had ordered. After we finished our meals he came out of nowhere trying to sell us a bottle of wine and a few drinks, when confronted with our missing drinks he ran off. We asked for the bill to rush out, the bill did contain our missing drinks which the waiters reluctant had to remove after some discussion.
Short summary:
Very loud ambient sound and poor service. The food is somewhat overpriced and not very generous in size. The entire restaurant seem more focused at pulling money out of their customers rather than good food and service.
If you want to sacrifice price, service and taste for loud jazz, this might be the place for you.
Ruined our last night in London.
Overrated! I will say the venue is nice however the food isn t all that great. Scrambled egg isn t made fresh but comes out of a box. Truffle - was that truffle ? Burger was cold ! There are so many great Brunch places in London these days ... unfortunately this isn t one of them.
Great balance of fine dining and relaxing atmosphere.
Great Place! Andrew took great care of us! Food was fantastic and high energy atmosphere!
Loved the desert. The entertainment was nice and the ambience of the place extremely pleasing.
Good atmosphere and live music, but drinks are over priced for what you get
Great place I spent a New Year with friends. Well done, you love it. Serve well. Great place one of the best
Fantastic experience. Service and food was exceptional. Had an unforgettable night.
Great vegan dessert. Sorbet, with coconut and pineapple. Meat was a little rare for me and was not asked how I would like it. Also took a little while for the water to come. Otherwise lovely decor and great service
DIABOLICAL. Embarrassing customer service. Clueless in any social etiquette.
Disgusting food experience.
Idiotic hostess at the door gossiping in her native tounge and blatantly ignoring customers.
Cold fish. cold potatoes.
Over priced. Zero quality.
Requested a quiet table but was sat next to kitchen doors with shouting, swearing and clattering pots and pans and harsh strip lighting
Staff sweaty detectable body odour.
Pastey and ill looking.
Irritable impatient and abrupt running on caffeine and nicotine.
Staff project inflated opinions of themselves but have little to offer.
This isn't a Conran restaurant anymore which is the reason it was so great in the past.
It is more like motorway service.
Canteen food poorly managed by opinionated baristas.
AVOID this dump.
DON'T BOTHER!!
Dull atmosphere, overpriced food + drinks, although staff a friendly.
Close to Tube so you can get out quick and find somewhere else next time.
Friendly atmosphere and lovely staff make this place. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the food. Having said that I LOVED the artichoke starter but the main was slimy, the veg raw and it was luke warm. I would go again and give it another go because my fellow diner ate every morsel of her meal.
Quaglino's has excellent food. The brunch service was great and the live music was wonderful.
When i first walked in to join a friends birthday party it all looked glamourous and promising.
But the space is too big, has too much of a corporate feel to it and lacks any atmosphere.
Whoever designed the space made a huge mistake by placing a massive bar right in the middle of the room blocking half the room's view from the stage and dance area!!! Even sucking more of the atmosphere out of the space. Very strange!
The band performing were OK. Nothing spectacular or different or standout. The 20 mins long Eminem's slimshady song performance just sucked the life out of the dance floor. Surely Abit more imagnation with live acts these days is needed.
Food and the menu reminded me of a maybe slightly above average gastropub. No more.
Service is where things got really bad. No effort was made regarding the birthday celebrations at all. Very disappointing after much complaining someone finally brought out a tiny single candle and put it in front of the birthday person. Simple as that!!! Even though we had already informed them when booking
Wine list and cocktails were good at least.
The place has no soul or atmosphere or imagination with anything. With places like Park Chinos, Samosan Twiga and many others in central London bringing great nights out with amazing flare and class , this place has very little to offer.
If you are organising an office outing with a bunch of colleagues you dont really socialize with , it is perhaps just about palatable . Any occasion more special, this is not the place.
There is much better out there in London.
Service was excellent! Food was very nice, loved the meal we had. One of the best experiences we had while visiting Central London. Recommended!
We visited Quaglino's for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. I mentioned that in the online booking and asked for a table closer to the stage. When we arrived, the staff was very welcoming and prepared our table on time for the booking. We were delighted when we were eventually led to a table directly in front of the stage. The service was attentive, the food very good and we enjoyed the live music by Atila and his jazz band. In the end, they surprised us with a dessert treat and personal congratulations, which was especially nice as I did not explicitly asked for it. We had a great evening and recommend Quaglino's not only for the beautiful venue, but the whole experience.
Dinner from hell. Ok food, pricy and we were eating in a disco. Did not talk to each other during dinner at all. Unless you want to eat in a night club, don't go.
Simply. Food was ok, Service less than ok, Ambience is nice and if anything sitting at the bar upstairs during the live band performance was the highlight.
Very pretentious and over priced. They bar staff are super friendly and do make good cocktails.
Amazing art deco interior and '20s feel. Great food, service and live music. Definitely worth a visit.
If you want old school Hollywood glamour and Art Deco finishes then this venue has it all. From the outside, it looks small but Quaglino's is deceptively spacious. From the entrance, you have to go down some stairs to reach reception, a bar, private dining rooms and the lounge area. You have to descend further to get to the main restaurant but what a view you will get.
Great place, nice food and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely visit again
Art Deco affluent atmosphere keeps going during the lockdown period and they really make you feel good. Great food and selection of drinks. Sunday live music resumed end August and it's a lovely place to be.
Amazing food. Amazing service, beautiful entertainment. Loved it, every detail was accounted for, even the toilets were kept perfect!
Quality venue. Fantastic Sunday brunch with live band. Great atmosphere Everyone was dancing. What an experience
Very disappointing service! As for the location and place was expecting much more!
Very noisy, impossible to have table talk with other than person next to you. Food was fine.
The live music from 9pm is insanely loud which makes it impossible to hold a conversation with even your neighbour at dinner. We also waited +30mins for our mains but then were asked to leave after 2 hours. What a bizarre model to kick paying customers out who might also want to take some cheese and port. Maybe that's why the music is so loud?!
Bit expensive for just ok food. Lighting is terrible.
Classy, trendy place with a nice, big, bar area and a beautiful high dining hall.
Nice venue but had a few issues. Had 9 o'clock booking but weren't seated until 9.20 the bar area was too busy to wait in so we had to stand amongst the tables which then caused problems as we had to keep moving out of the way for the waiting staff. When we were finally seated our waiter kept disappearing after taking a few orders then would return and take another one or two orders before disappearing again, it took almost 30 minutes before all of our party had placed their orders. The drinks service was extremely slow considering it was a Christmas party. When our food finally arrived there was some confusion as to who was having what which we managed to resolve. Then one of our party was given a dish they had not ordered, when this was pointed out to our waiter his response was I don't know why this has been sent up and then asked if it mattered. Expected better considering reputation and cost.
Great atmosphere, amazing food and very friendly staff. The only downside is that they've kicked us out before we had the chance to try our dessert as they needed our table - they should have informed us at the time of the reservation. Apart from that it was all good, make sure you stay to see the performances (from 11pm)
On a Saturday night this must be the coolest place in Town. Everything, from the way you are greeted, the atmosphere in the bar area and the restaurant, is so professional and chic. If you haven't been, make a booking soon - you will not be disappointed!
sophisticated relaxed wonderful atmosphere . my fave Italian
Live music was nice for a party...otherwise too noisy. But it's always a nice place anyway.
Qualinos...one of my favourite places to eat ....that is why I chose it for a family meal to celebrate my daughters 2 1st birthday.....BUT our evening was a disaster and we all left very disappointed and upset. We were taken to our table but just as the woman was about to pull a chair for us to sit down...she decided that was not our table and took us to a table that was actually just in front of stage ....the worst table in the restaurant ...with the spot lights for the stage shining in my daughters face....very uncomfortable and hot .
I complained to the lady at reservation desk .....she was rude and understanding caring .....when I asked why we couldn't have table we were first taken to she said it was reserved.....the table was empty the whole evening we were there. I would like to thank Elessa Alevizaki....she tried her hardest to try to salvage the evening with free drinks and seats at the bar and even asked the reservation lady for a new table but was ....turned down also
I am so upset my daughter was so looking forward to her evening at Qualinos after everything I had told her ....disaster of an evening x
Classic restaurant, good food, wine and cocktails.
A great evening out
Wonderful evening celebrating godchildrens 18th birthday and the restaurant was 90 ! Food was first class and entertainment and atmosphere amazing
Vibrant and luxurious. I really enjoy the time I spent at the bar. From epic cocktails to tasty food. Very well done. Brilliant and passionate people.
Merci!
We had dinner here from the set menu, which is great value for money. The choice of dishes was varied and the food was interesting. Subterranean Art Deco brasserie vibes and if you turn up during the live music it s a treat.
Good food, wine and performances. Would definitely come again. The only negative is that they squeeze tables in, our table was practically on top of the till register that blocked the view of everything. Nonetheless, if you get a good table, then it s great.
Quaglino's is incredible! Food, service, music, cocktails...it has it all
what i great experience. We took a group of student for meal here and they all had a great time and were highly impressed with the level of service and food they received. The staff dealt professionally with our dietary issues and could not be more helpful. The servers were friendly and could not help but feel genuine in their approach. Highly recommend Quaglino's well worth a visit. We definitely will be going again.
Beautiful and exotic place. Had a Christmas/surprise party here and the deco was outstanding. Good music, great selection of food but you have to pay a bit more than usual price, all worth it for me. Different rooms to dine in but you would need an early reservation. In my opinion, stay on the floor of you are with friends and really want to enjoy the live band. The customer service at the front desk is superb but can t really say the same for the overall service. Good place to hang out with friends. I will recommend this place anytime.
We visited Quaglino's for the second time to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. I mentioned that in the online booking and asked for a table close to the stage and entertainment. When we arrived the staff were very welcoming and prepared our table on time for the booking along with champagne which I pre ordered. I was amazed when we were led to a table directly in front of the stage. The service was attentive, the food very great and the live music amazing. In the end they surprised us with a dessert treat which was especially nice as I did not explicitly asked for it. We had a great evening and recommend Quaglino's not only for the beautiful venue, but the whole experience.
Food gorgeous, setting as stunning but service has now been poor on 2 out of 3 visits
Lively evenings. Great Entertainment. Good food. Best for a night out.
Beautiful place,
We were here on the 8/6/19
Pre-Booked to Celebrate future to be sister-in-law, Group of 12, food was Excellent
Service was fast
Very Small dancing area!!
Only downside was the confusion on our booking of what we had paid for including wine, Embarrassment on they part, As the lady we had confirmed with was not working that night even when shown emails confirmation, an pricing
Fantastic restaurant. Prefect for a romantic dinner or a night out. The food was delicious.
Great Gatsby art deco style restaurant with live music and great food. Honestly:wow!!
Bottomless Brunched on a Saturday (8 girls) great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was lovely, but smallish portions (expected), probably a tad expensive for what it was, BUT they were generous with the prosecco refills so that's a plus!
Quaglino's has long been a favourite destination of our family to celebrate a special occasion - or simply to enjoy a more glamorous evening. So my sister and I were looking forward to visiting it again after it had been closed for an extensive facelift - and we were not disappointed.
There is still the very cool cocktail bar overlooking the main restaurant, serving great cocktails. There is still the amazing 'Busby Berkeley' staircase down to the restaurant, where you really feel you 'making an entrance'. The decor is now even more luxurious; even more theatrical; even more 1920's glam!
Instead of the oyster/sea food bar, there is a large bar area in the middle of the floor, where you can choose to drink or eat (apparently without booking), whilst the tables now seem to have more room. Service was top notch, and the food seems to have got even better, and is still good value for the quality and the ambience.
Quaglino's really does make you feel special; whether it's a romantic dinner (there seemed to be a number of these when we were there) or simply having fun with friends and family.
Cost perfromance index is low. Food was very delicious and really nice atmosphere. Two points I did not like. One is the lady who is serving us kept reminding us the time from the beginning. We felt rushed and uncomfortable as she was keep coming to our table. Second one is live music was too loud, we had to shout to be able to speak. Normally I know people could dance and have fun there but due to covid it wasn't allowed so they could decrease the volume a bit so we could talk to each other at least.
Excellent atmosphere . Great band. And very attentive waiting staff.
Nice atmosphere and service, food was we'll executed. Nothing was superb though service was close, menu was somewhat conservative.
Amazing layout inside. 360 Champagne bar in the center.
One of my favorite restaurants always get a table. Good service with lovely settings.
Absolutely lived this place. Delicious meals and the wine was continuously following, like they would be fired if they let me glass get empty. Perfect.
Really good food and service. Great value for money. Live music was good but not great.
Lovely food but too noisy in the early evening to have a proper conversation.
On my special celebration ,it was the perfect supprise!!! The staff were wonderful, attentive, not in your face, polite, food amazing, music to die for.The atmosphere was perfect. Will visit again.
Fantastic soul music. Pricey but worth it. Staff fantastic
Very funny inside (looks like an old reception venue). The personel is very kind and the menue very interesting.
This was an amazing place, gorgeous for any special occasion. The band were fantastic, they had people up dancing by the end of the night, great atmosphere.
Quaglino's is one of my favourite European restaurants in London! It has a lovely chic and vibrant setting, a great place to have drinks after work or dinner with your friends - they cater for all group sizes which is a bonus! I have even celebrated my birthday here twice as well, which should speak volumes as I always select a different resturant/venue depending what I decided to do!
The staff are nice and none of the occasions that I have been here to date did we never encountered any problems or receive poor service due prejudice attitudes etc, (something certain other restaurants should take notes on and learn from).
Great setting and fantastic food. Definitely worth a visit if you want to impress.
I love this place. Have dined here on many an occasion and will always recommend it. After all, it was good enough for Bertie Wooster, Winston Churchill, Harold Wilson and Ronnie Kray!
Great West End restaurant, very lively downstairs bar, terrific open restaurant but also private dining rooms for groups. Excellent food, good service, and not as expensive as you may think for the area.
Wow, not as expensive as you would have thought, i'd definitely come back, food and drink are great.
Overall great value | Entertainment - Fantastic | Food - good | setting - luxurious | staff - a mix of friendly & professional
Attended on Wednesday evening 30th Sept after a recommendation from RIAH Events Planners.
Entertainment was just cracking. The whole band had a great presence. The singing was brilliant, effortless and yet filled with passion and enthusiasm. I really enjoyed the stream of new & old hits covered. Her voice complimented every song.
The main, pumpkin risotto, was lovely with interesting seasoning and great textures. Not your standard risotto dish, by any means. Again, my companions enjoyed their Seabreem main but said it was nothing to rave about.
Desserts - I rarely say this about a restaurant but the desserts stole the show (I'll upload photos)! They were well thought out with a variety of textures and flavours to explore. The shortbread and apple fromage was inspired and like nothing I've sampled elsewhere.
The staff were lovely and friendly whilst professional. However, the service felt disorganised and chaotic, as though they were understaffed. Plus, I lost count of the number of different staff that served us. Personally, I prefer a more streamlined experience but on the plus side, it did show me that all the waiting staff were pleasant and had that perfect friendly / professional balance. So a big thumbs up for the individual staff members.
Well done if you made it all the way through this review.
We came here as a group of five for my birthday lunch and it was such a great experience! Staff were so accommodating as soon as we entered. The variety of cocktails were unique and had at least one to please everyone's taste. The dishes were well prepared - the roast beef was clearly a favourite with massive Yorkshire puddings being chosen by all tables, though I was very happy with the seared trout. Live music really raised the atmosphere and our waiter was hilarious! Really appreciate the great time
we had here!
Awful clientelle and staff. Food was average and drinks over priced
