Christian Olav Stafset Review of Quaglino's Restaurant London.

I really don't know where to start, the first impression was quite good due to the decor and how we were greeted. For some reason we had to wait several minutes before we could be seated, during this time we were asked and suggested to buy a drink several times. When the host arrived to direct us to our table he asked if we had ordered any drinks aswell.
Our table was close to the scene where a band was playing VERY loud jazz music. It was very hard to talk with others due to the high volume, we asked to be seated somewhere else which the host only shook his head.
We ordered a soft drink and a glass of whisky before our meals arrived but they never arrived. The butler came over to our table with a champagne bottle which we didn't order and asked us what we had ordered. After we finished our meals he came out of nowhere trying to sell us a bottle of wine and a few drinks, when confronted with our missing drinks he ran off. We asked for the bill to rush out, the bill did contain our missing drinks which the waiters reluctant had to remove after some discussion.
Short summary:
Very loud ambient sound and poor service. The food is somewhat overpriced and not very generous in size. The entire restaurant seem more focused at pulling money out of their customers rather than good food and service.
If you want to sacrifice price, service and taste for loud jazz, this might be the place for you.
Ruined our last night in London.
