A good venue, a little light in some galleries. A bit too much emphasis on items by gloomy and troubled artists. More sculpture would be welcome. I am unsure that traditional items made by ethnic groups recently are modern art. Overall craft based items outshine most of the painting or print.

Visited during the hugely popular Marvel exhibit but has a range of attractions and art installations that are worth a trip.

Easy access to South Bank and public transport or even a nice walk across from the cbd.

The anti TARDIS. Tiny on the inside and enormous on the outside. Some of the art is worth experiencing. Given the easy access, small crowds, small gallery size, it's actually better than most of its ilk.

I find it very hard to rate state-supported art galleries. With good curation and a healthy endowment, any art gallery can be an amazing place to whittle away a couple of hours. GOMA is no different in that regard. However, I always place GOMA alongside National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts as a couple of stand out galleries that I always make sure to visit whenever I am in town.

Have been here a few times now and love it. The actual building is great on top of the many fantastic artworks. There has been a paid for exhibition on when I have been there but I have never seen the need to go in because there is more than enough other stuff to look at. I have no doubt it would be just as good though

GOMA provides another brilliant showpiece.

The current exhibition, The Motorcycle - Design, Art, Desire, is fantastic. Showcasing 150 years of motorcycle design history from the first steam engine attached to a standard bicycle design through to modern road bikes and high performance rides of today. Each innovation is showcased with motorcycles borrowed from corporate, public and private collections around the globe. If you like motorcycles, innovation, history, engineering, art or design, this exhibition is worth the admission.

Good quality selection of Australian and international art on display with an emphasis on Queensland related themes. The galleries were well laid out and uncluttered with a sense of calm. The variety of art works appealed to our young teen son.

It's always good to see what's on at the Gallery, and it never disappoints!
We saw wonderful indigenous art, plus it's good to re-visit the permanent collection - 'Monday Morning' by Vida Lahey is a favourite.

Then lunch at the QAG cafe, outside under marvellous Crown of Bolivia tree with the ibis and the Eastern water dragons - inside is cooler but often very noisy due to the hard surfaces. Food good but not wonderful. I like that they showcase Queensland foods where possible. I chose tempura mushrooms and pork with a lovely noodle salad, and my companions had sweet potato and caramelised onion tart with pear and rocket salad. I'm generally there on a Wednesday, and have noticed that table clearing and cleaning can be slow.

Overall a good place to be, and in lovely surroundings, with waterfalls and sculpture nearby, and a million miles from city bustle.

Interesting exhibits and friendly staff. The exhibits are reasonable value for money, and are sometimes pretty outstanding. The children's area is well designed and the craft activities are worth visiting for families and can entertain kids for up to an hour fairly easily. The outdoor grass areas are also great for children.
