its a cool place

its a cool place

got a short free tour of the 'aboriginal art exhibit' and you know how amazing the aboriginal are and there thoughts are true

eg the slogan "does australian art exist"? well thats painted on one of his artworks and in the art is hidden with the answer "you have NO culture"

so true, is it australian art? or all just european art?? white people dominate the world, raping and taking over the world theres rarely any true aussies (aboriginals anymore) in U.S there are NO pure native americans anymore, their heritage/bloodline has been purged out of them

its so racist that people walked past the exhibit just to get to the so-called REAL european art, from school students to the adults, PATHETIC this country is. Go sit in the 'tent' (replica of the tent embassy) and you know how racist this country is....go watch the video and you'll know. Its a tad long so watch at least abit

Lovely gallery in Brisbane city. I very much enjoyed the free guided tour of Gordon Bennett's 'Unfinished business' run by volunteer guide Jan. The free guided tours run at 11am and 1pm.

The current exhibition, 'From collage to meme' includes some works from Andy Warhol, which shines the spotlight on gay, transgender and LGBTIQ activists.

Always something new to see at GOMA. My favourite place to visit of the Cultural Centre. Very welcoming team, and you always leave inspired or in thoughts about what you've experienced. Everything you want from art.

Favourite place for my teenagers and me. I've been bringing them here since they were toddlers, and they are always made to feel welcome by the attentive and efficient staff. GOMA have the best exhibitions, and a lot of beautiful free galleries. Super calm, bright, friendly atmosphere.

I don't know how it's possible but this has got to be one of the best gallery's in the world. I read a review on here previously about someone coming in here to get shade and they stated they were gob smacked by how good it is. I too have to back this up, despite Brisbane being a small little city on the other side of the world, London and Paris should take note of how to do a gallery. Everything about this place is perfect, I have come here several times since my first visit and would highly recommend this to anyone regardless of if you like art or not.

Hands down the best gallery I have ever been to.

Pretty chill place, security and staff were friendly, however bag packs of a certain size have to be kept at a storage place due to security reasons which i can understand. They have many weird exhibits there ( in a good way) there is even a 'horror' section which is really kind of creepy. Also they have art that dates back to the 1900s to 2018. They have this awesome system which i think is targeted to art enthusiasts, basically the system stores all the data regarding the paintings (etc. location, date , name) so when the user wants to locate a piece of art, all they have to do is just search for it and it will show them the location of the art piece. Just a word of warning, there is a pinball machine there AS A PIECE OF ART, and i mistook it as a real pin ball machine and tried to insert the coin into it. After awhile, one of the staff saw me and kindly told me that it was an art piece and not a real working machine. Oh boy =/

This gallery is spectacular. We went to see the motorcycle exhibition and we couldn't rate it high enough. A brilliant collection of motorcycles - new, old and famous. So enjoyable. There was also a great local link with a 'design your own motorcycle' interactive online activity that's pitched from a West End company. Aside from the special exhibition the gallery itself is lovely - plenty of space to spread out, great management of people during COVID restrictions, and a thoughtful children's section with interactive activities incorporating tech and paper-based platforms. Plan for a few hours it makes for a lovely morning or afternoon activity.

State of the art! The 'Water' Exhibition was exquisite! Definitely worth the entry fee and time. This exhibition focussed on water conservation and action. Very relevant in todays applications!

As I had an afternoon flight and the morning off, I had the chance to visit this museum. Not only is it housed in a beautiful building, the standard collection is pretty impressive. But I was lucky, as I happened to be here during the Triannual Asia Pacific exhibition of contemporary art. It's a brilliant mix of paintings, statues,
Photography and video art. Don't miss it, it's free, just like the rest of the museum.

Always have great content available with some intriguing displays. Great historical content with some modern Australian artworks being featured at time. Sometimes they have massive sections closed due to new exhibitions so be sure to check the website to ensure you are disappointed with closures as we have been in the past. Staff are relatively friendly most of the time.

No static displays, exhibits changed regularly with some exhibits requiring an entry fee but most exhibits are free. Holiday activities are usually available for children. Relaxing open area inside overlooking the river if you need some time-out space.

Well it is official - Goma is now the most boring gallery I have visited. I used to be enthralled with Goma, Ron Muek, Valentino, Cai Guo Qiang all just wonderful drawcards but the last three years all visits have been wasted and More

I just love this gallery. Constant changing displays and many of the greats. I love coming here and looking at the Picasso they have. Not hid blue period but his very early days when he was starting to explore expressionism.

Went to the Marvel exhibition. Felt sorry for the rest of the art gallery as we trapped through their stuff to get to the good stuff. Very long queues to get in but they queue kept moving so we did not wait long.

Exhibition was good, kids loved it. Various pieces to look at. Some interesting info their too about the history of how it all came together. $60 for a family ticket which is two adults and up to three kids. So not overly priced at all.

Good
