The last of the 3 museums in the trilogy along the South Bank. Personally, this is my favourite as you never know what you'll see here!! There are many wings off the main corridors full of fascinating art work from around the world. One of the gems here is the kids area hidden away underneath the main foyer. If you've got little ones under 10 they'll have plenty of fun experiencing the interactive installations. I cannot recommend this place enough!

A spacious museum filled with contemporary and thought provoking pieces. Fits the bill of "modem art", since I wasn't sure what some of the pieces was trying to convey. Some very interested pieces integrating unconventional materials (a train switchboard).

Well air conditioned, large bags will have to be stowed in the lobby to free but it is secure (you are given a claim tag). Photography allowed unless otherwise noted.

Everytime I visit they have multiple exhibitions being set up at one and very little to actually look at. They need to schedule only one change out at a time or use there available space more wisely

One of the most important places to visit in Brisbane. The Queensland Art gallery provides a multicultural perspective of Art. Depending on the selected theme, they provide that each display is perfectly resembling the artist statement- this increases your level of understanding, thus giving you the full perspective of what the artist is trying to say. All the selected artworks are almost always an eye-opening experience. So many meanings can be depicted through their selection of artworks, yet so powerful in its final representation. I would definitely recommend visiting for those not only interested in surrealism but for anyone that is interested in exploring the different perspectives of life through the souls of amazing artists.

Always has incredible art on show and most exhibits are free to enter. 'Water' is absolutely worth the entry fee, my favourite part being the indoor waterway. Close to the cultural centre busway and South Brisbane train station, so it's easily accessible by public transport. An absolute must see if you come to Brisbane!

My favorite place in Brisbane so far! Awesome exhibition, very interesting and inspiring works. A lot of different things to discover, easily spend four hours here and still have the urge to go back. Loved the shrine of unspoken things. Good aircon.

Australian art galleries and museums don t need tickets. The Australian government is really giving the people benefits. It s great. There are many paintings in it. It s beautiful. The overall environment is large, spacious and very comfortable.

A broad and intriguing collection of Australian and international peices. I especially like the complimentary drawn response booths, it's nice to be able to respond with your own artistic experience of the exhibits.
also it's free :)

I only did the water exhibit with my family for $44 and to be honest it was disappointing. We are not big on museums but during our travels we tend to find a museum and enjoy it. Unfortunately not this time.

Been here quite a few times. It is generally good. This time I had a quite nice salmon baguette, but my daughter had a supposedly savoury vegetable tart that had curd and lemon marmalade in it and it was yuck.

its really great. the exhibitions are usually really good and there is good exhibitions for children. there are good places to get food there and the parking is pretty good. but if you dont have a car, then the public transport is very close and accessible. there is also a place where you can get either a taxi or uber if you want and there are nice green lawns outside too.

An incredible place !!! Super organized. My experience the day I went was very rewarding. I could go through it completely. There were paintings, sculptures and even a cinema. The place is perfectly maintained and clean and the attention and indications are excellent. The environment also stands out in originality and care. In my case, I did not even have to pay for access. I recommend it super

Interesting place with some good exhibits usually. Kids area is good fun and they learn about art and creativity but the rest of the gallery really isn't for them. We find the staff pretty uninviting if you do have kids with you.
