The Motorcycle Exhibition is by far and away one of the best I've seen at any venue. These bikes are real jewels and they are in immaculate condition. And although the photos here are all showing the bikes, there was actually a lot of photos and videos supporting as well. In fact, I really think you need to go twice so you can take your eyes away from the bikes and enjoy the other elements. Brilliant.

Nicely laid on exhibition, plenty to look at. It took me nearly 3 hrs to get around it and it was not crowded. I had time to linger. Exhibits are interesting to see. However, the concept work was all too polished and looked like final publicity art and because they had been done digitally, were really just prints presented well. The storyboards and pre visuals were well displayed.

Good toilets but had to dock a point for the soap they use. When I rubbed my hands together to dry them under the Dyson thing they started lathering again! Actually it's not a Dyson cos you don't rub your hands under them.

The QAG has a variety of quality Art Exhibits. It is well lit, clean, easily accessible and best of all the general art gallery is free!
The travelling exhibits have admission costs, but the prices are always realsonable and every exhibit I've been to is well worth the money. One of the nicest places in Brisbane to stimulate your mind, and so close to the Gallery Of Modern Art and the Brisbane Museum. Make a day trip of it :-)

Nice.

Great Place to visit when overseas guests are in town. Lots to see, and right next to Queensland Art Gallery and the Museum.
A great range of movies are shown throughout the year. Always take something warm to wear when going to cinema. Air conditioning can sometimes be very cool.

Inappropriate exhibits for children and young families-knives cutting brains open???!!! Has all decency gone out the window! Not family friendly. Please think about what impact you're having. There is good in the world, but you don't show or celebrate it!

Situated within the Brisbane Southbank Arts precinct, GOMa and State Library nearby. I love this gallery space, not too big, manageable and cool to walk through, interesting spaces to explore, great outside courtyard, decent permanent local and international hanging collection that is rotated regularly, usually interesting temporary exhibitions, good gift shop, cafe/restaurant. Walking distance from Brisbane CBD. Highly recommended.

Great gallery, but I was very concerned with the children's section trying to politicize issues with children and encourage child activism, toward one side of politics without presenting views from both sides of the issue. An appalling thing to do to children.

Today, I was with my client with a disability and he was under my constant guidance and supervision. It was his first time there and he was really excited to be there however the experience was very disappointing due to the treatment of staff. They said he couldnt hold his backpack a certain way which upset him because it is how he normally holds it and I was supervising him. They said he also flicked water from his water bottle which was not the case as i was watching him and told him how to behave on the ring exhibit. Due to his condition he does not understand abstract way of thinking and I was monitoring his behaviour and for staff to keep telling he cannot do things ruined his experience and he was not happy and couldn't understand why. The treatment of staff did not improve the situation and I hope they are more mindful of visitors with conditions and accompanied by a support worker.

Currently showing is a remarkable exhibition of Margaret Olly's work. A large number of her works and those by other famous artists eg Degas, Ben Quilty, etc who have painted her. Quite an exceptional array of work by world famous painters!.
The warmth of colours in Olly's work is enlightening and leaves one with a sense of lighteness and regard for life that is very heartening.
Also included are a film doco and interview pieces on film that can be viewed regularly on continuous cycle- all worth a look to expand one's insight to this remarkable woman who became an Australian icon long before she passed away. A unique woman who said it as she saw it and gave her energies to her painting.

Enjoyed the exhibit, some really nice bikes on show. Some must have been difficult to find some of them esp a one off Aussie 1914 bike with advanced (for the time) suspension designed for the 'challenging rough roads of Australian cities'. Some things don't change!

Really depends on what exhibitions are on. Movie theatres are really nice though.
Some of the exhibits in may 2018 were terrible and pretentious. Not interesting or provocative, just lazy and uninteresting. Disapointing compared to previous visits.

Looking out over the Brisbane River, this is a rather interesting place to spend an hour or two. Entry is free for the main part of the gallery with special exhibits having an entry fee required.

I could just be getting old but I didn't really get the appeal of much of the art, but it's free and I'm sure many would appreciate the art.

Had the best time!! Exhibition's will always change, but thd on thing that will remain is the excellent building and its stunning surrounds. Strongly recommend a visit, even if it's just to hang out in the arts precinct and enjoy some beautiful sunshine

Perfect free activities to get kids involved too!

Always a great couple of hours away from the city. Been to a number of their exhibitions and always worth paying the entry fee. Would definitely recommend, of tourists and Brisbanites. Perfect for a day where it's either too hot be walking around outside, or when its raining. Always enjoy coming back ti see the changing exhibitions and artefacts
