I don t even know what to say other than I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This place has amazing food. I always get the macaroni-on-grilled-cheese sandwich. They are also very busy - especially late night when the after-party crowd comes in. Staff is courteous and the tables are chalkboards so you can doodle on them while you wait for your food (the wait is not long). Because they're so busy, it's not the cleanest restaurant.

Best grilled cheese I've had. I got some kind of barbecue on it, and it was just sweet enough to balance ito the three dense cheeses they used. And the server was very chipper, and the wait didn't feel like a chore.

Cute little bar and restaurant with strong drinks and yummy appetizers. We ordered fried pickles and cheese curds. They were cripsy and flavorful but a bit extra toasted. The drinks were good and strong but the Cherry one did taste a bit like cough medicine. They didn't have tableside service so you had to order at the bar even if you were sitting at a table.

This place is delicious! Everything on their menu is great and they have great drink specials. Can never go wrong with a delicious grilled cheese! This place can get pretty crowded, especially on the weekends after the bars close. Check out the Groupon options for here. They have some good deals.

Cheesie's has the best grilled cheese you will have ever taste. The Tenderizer with a side of sweet potato fries and a root beer beer will open your eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. Like a world where going to the gym painlessly becomes a part of your daily schedule (so you can eat here regularly and still fit in your clothes). The people who work here are so much fun and know how to go with the flow, they can banter with the best.

This is a very fine restaurant. I got the Mac grilled cheese, which was fantastic. It was a wonderful experience eating my grilled cheese as I walked through Lakeview Terrace. It s always nice to see the surroundings, but it s even better to have an awesome comfort food like a Grilled Cheese to eat as you absorb everything . The food may not be too special, but it still makes me feel nostalgic to when I was a kid and had grilled cheese when I arrived home from school. All I can say is thanks for the comfort food.

This place is amazing. The sandwiches are delicious, the people are friendly, and they know how to pour a good drink. With the expansion and adding video games, they made it a "have to visit" for travelers and locals alike.

Fun and easy place to get drinks and super cheesey sandwiches. I actually like coming here better in the afternoon than the evening when it's more crowded.

Came here after work one night and to get the fried PBJ. The two sides of the business are very confusing to me. I ordered at the pizza side apparently and went to place my order at the grilled cheese side. The place has a great vibe and really nice employees. My deep friend PBJ was just not good at all. It was so greasy and dripped oil as I tried to eat it. I want to come back and try their other food options but this first trip wasn't a very good one. The place looks like a lot of fun to visit though!

Pretty good place. Had a ten inch Frenchie and it was the bomb.

Best place to get amazing late night food after a long night of drinking. The food is all amazing and there is even a bar inside so you don t even need to wrap up the party. Good luck choosing which grilled cheese you want though because they all sound righteous.

I love the selection of grilled cheeses. Comfort food at its best, at reasonable prices. Not a bad spot to catch a game, either, although the bar service is just OK.

Food was decent fried pickles were over fryed. The worst thing is the raspberry tea all I got was water basically no one changed the bib on the fountain machine. This will be the last time I order

Visited this location with some friends and really wasn t expecting a lot from this place but wow was I wrong,had 2 slices of cheese pizza(was about to close so they did not have any other slices). Still was satisfied with my food, also played a couple of rounds of Mortal Kombat and that was pretty dope , would come again!

This place is awesome! I went down over the weekend and ordered a Mac & Cheese pizza and the infamous Chicago Root Beer beer and it was delicious! The Mac & Cheese pizza is HUGE (I'd say 4 people minimum) and the Root Beer beer is awesome (it tastes just like root beer)! Very fun atmosphere, and they play some great music, although I wasn't a huge fan of the decor.

People say you need to get cheesies as a "last bar of the night" type of treat. I say stop into cheesies after hopping off the L train and grab a sandwich instead of waiting for the bus. Yoli is an amazing bartender and really makes you feel welcome! I always order the tenderizer and add Mac and cheese to the sandwich!

First time going and loved the food now that is some good cheese . I went today for lunch with my kids and husband and had a very bad service from the guy that took us our food he was so racist with us . I guess he was having a bad day .

An excellent way to cap off 12+hrs of moving slash unpacking slash drinking. We ordered delivery and everything was delicious. We will definitely order again!

Not for the faint of heart, incredible grilled cheese variations made with thick Texas toast. Maxed out comfort food, a good beer selection, and pop art and vintage arcade atmosphere make for a uniquely satisfying and energizing experience.

Cheesie is opened for limited seating. The food, drinks, and more importantly the staff and service are amazing as always!

Came here on a Friday night. Service was super fast and attentive. Bartender Eugene gave the great menu recommendation of the tenderizer pizza and it was delicious. Drinks kept flowing fast but not rushed. I will def be returning. Thanks for the positive experience!

TV Magic has blessed Cheesie's with notoriety that I did not think is warranted. The grilled cheese sandwiches are on the greasy side, and if I have had too much to drink, I may appreciate them more than I did.

Perhaps the praises are based on the low prices, which is always appreciated, but it's not a "make you go out of your way to try it" type of place.

We tried it 1st at an event, where their bus was catering to, we liked it, so we decided to find closest location. What a big mistake. Super tired and dingy interior. Food didn't taste like the one from the truck . Only good thing was free arcade games.

I would give the pizza five stars; however, there was an employee by the name of Beth who was beyond disrespectful to my boyfriend and me. We called in a pizza and when we went to pick-up she was not helpful in telling us where to go and when I asked if the pizza was ready she just pointed in the direction of the kitchen. We waited for more than 30 minutes and I decided to ask her again if the pizza was ready and she said, "Does it look like I know? You need to ask one of them (proceeds to point at a different server)." Truthfully, I have not had anyone be that rude to me EVER at a restaurant. I am writing this review in hopes that management will take the necessary steps and have a serious conversation with Beth.

Great spot for signature grilled cheese sandwiches! The ambiance of this place is very retro and homey, and the sandwiches are to die for - the OG option is simple but tasty! The folks here are super nice and friendly with service - it's easy to see why this spot is a Chicago classic. Definitely worth checking out!

Holy cow, this place is good! Have you been here? Well if your reading this you should take my recommendation and stop by here.

Such a shame. The pizza looked and smelled delicious but if you know it's gonna be 30 minutes to get some spinach knots, then have the courtesy to inform me. Also, don't treat me like the bad guy when ask for a refund as I can't wait any longer. Just give me my money and let me be on my way. Unacceptable on all accounts. Never coming back!

I love cheesies! I wish there was one in the suburbs! Food is quick, fresh, and delishious! Workers are all super nice!

We got The Popper grilled cheese sandwich and it was delicious!! This place is cool to have a drink and eat some amazing sandwiches. I must add that the staff was super friendly and helpful. The gentleman taking out order was very patient with us asking questions and taking our time with the menu. Also the gentleman at the door was friendly and held a good conversation with us. I'd come back tomorrow if I wasn't going back home.

I absolutely love Cheesie's. Great food and a good bar. Can be extremely crowded at times (like when a concert let's out or just late at night since the food is even better after you have been out drinking in Boystown or Wrigley). I have tried a few different sandwiches, but the Mac is by far the best (if you like mac n cheese). There's also a fun little Pacman table at the back by the restroom which is fun to play while waiting.

Service was great food was the best ever. 2 servings are enough for two people. I always managed to bring home half a sandwich. Big help healthy servings.

Great people, good grilled cheese. Prices seem steep when you think "it's just a grilled cheese?" But they have a bunch of flavor combinations and if you just need a nosh while drinking at the bar, it's worth it.

It was good but I think I was expecting "more". Not sure exactly what or how much more...maybe more menu options or a chic-er setting, perhaps. Overall, the staff were lovely and what I did order was tasty. If in the area and craving cheese and bread, I'll go back.

Great grilled cheese here, and I got cheese curds too. One was shaped like a rubber ducky, enjoy.

Food here is amazing and I wish I could rate just that but I dined in on two separate occasions and unfortunately both times I had the same male server who has an attitude issue. He scoffs at every thing, for example he rolls his eyes at you when you ask which champagnes are available (as if I'm supposed to know what is still in stock) he rolls his eyes and says the two on the menu with an attitude. To be clear this is the younger gentleman who works weekends with a red/orange beard. If you dont want to work there then don't but you shouldnt make it your customers problem. I wish management would sit down and chat with him, because I wont be sitting in there as long as he's serving.

This place is exactly what you need after a night of partying and drinking at 2am. The tradicional sandwich is my personal favorite, but had a bite of the Edgar and it was delicious! Sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Definitely a personal favorite!

Went the other day before the game. The staff were nice and helped us pick off the menu. I love sandwiches, and I xan honestly say the Edgar is the best sandwich I have ever had. The prices were good too. If you are up near Wrigley you should go here.

I love this place the people the vibe the music the staff and of course the freaking cheese. I've tried everything on the menu and always looking for an excuse to go there.

Been coming here with friends for years and it s just as amazing as ever. Excellent sandwiches, really quirky fun environment, still loving the blackboard painted tables with chalk, etc. apparently next door is now a pizza parlor (maybe it has been for a long time, I was out of the city for a while) which uses similar recipes to the sandwiches, and that side has more table and arcade games. Would love to go back soon to give that a try.

This place is PACKED always. But the food is freaking fantastic. I had the chicken and waffles grilled cheese and I highly recommend it.

Do yourself a favor and get the fried PB&J bites... I still think about them so often. The sandwiches are creative and delicious.

This place is amazing. It has everything you would ever want or NEED lol. They have an arcade-ish place and the atmosphere is really fun and casual. Their cheese sandwiches are so delicious. The waiters are super nice and happy. Next door they have pizza and ice cream, I mean COME on, this is life!

I love cheesies. Their food is amazing, always available, and the people range from eccentric crazy but it s chicago lol. The drink specials can bang, and the food always hits. Highly recommend . I ve been coming here for five years and when it s 4 am and I m hungry, I always think of cheesies :)

Normally love Cheesie s and the staff and food but bouncer was extremely rude to my boyfriend and I unnecessarily kicked us out in a pretty hostile and discriminatory manner. Will not be back here again unfortunately

Good food rude service. Had to wave down the waitress to take an order my first time I sat down there. The service was so bad the waitress apologized to us. Okay that s fine second time I just stop by just to quickly use the bathroom. I thought after being a regular patron I would be allowed in. I ve wasted my date share of money at this place. No you gotta leave now! Was what the bouncer told me as soon as a I walked in to use the bathroom. It s okay though. I ll piss on your floor the next time I come in. Just order food from here don t deal with their service.

We love Cheesie's! Daughter insists we visit each time we're nearby. Nice variety of affordable food. We've never been disappointed. Enjoy!

Good food and nice staff. The place is a dirty. They need to hire a cleaning serive. Walls are dirty chairs and table are sticky and no trash recipients and a place to leave your tray. You just leave it there at the table. 3 stars for the food but 1 star for clean.

Is it possible to not love Cheesie's? Maybe if you're a vegan. But everyone else will have a great time. A definite must-do when in Chicago. The bread is delicious, the cheeses are thick and the staff are awesome.
I had three sandwiches plus sides and a whole lot of drinks. It may not be gourmet but neither is deep-dish pizza! This stuff is awesome and will leave you full (and yet begging for more of that cheesie goodness). I loved it.

This place is the bomb dot com. Prices are reasonable, the grilled cheeses blew my mind. The music was awesome and the place just had a cool vibe. Definitely a must go spot in the neighborhood!

I m sure everyone already knows by now that this place is the bees knees. My favorite sandwich is the Tenderizer: fried chicken tenders, bbq sauce, hot sauce (I like extra), bacon bits, and lots of cheese.

After the closure of the Evanston Cheesie's holding on to this one for dear life. The best late night food spot, and always friendly staff. The Tenderizer probably belongs in a sandwich Hall of Fame.

Great food and nice craft beer selection. Lots of awesome classic arcade games inside and friendly staff. Met the owner who was extremely nice as well. A perfect choice for good sandwiches and comfort food right off the Belmont L stop (Red, Brown, Purple line).

Fun, though expensive.
It was worth the experience when I was in college and it seemed like the coolest place in the world. Now that I have been a few years removed, revisiting felt awkward.

It was a Saturday night, so they were busy. Ordering a drink felt like I had insulted the bartender.

Ordering from the menu was simple enough, though the food quality for the price is something to be desired.

This is definitely a late-night appetite type of place. Maybe not for the older crowd.

If you want a cheese overload and are just really going for ultimate comfort Cheesie s is a good bet. Took a friend after they d been dumped and she claimed there were few foods like the Mac and cheese sandwich that could temporarily fill the hole in her heart.

Sandwich side is good, pizza side could use a bit of work. Bartenders always seem like they don't wanna be there. :(

Be very aware, gave the wrong meal, did not issue a refund and was too busy trying to feed their ego by undermining the situation and trying to focus on the customers disgruntled tone. And too add insult to injury their pizza is cold and flavorless. It is priced up to be some type of great eatery. Please do yourself a favor and move on, it is not worth the waste of money or time.

Only the smallest sized pizzas can be customized. They are slightly overpriced. When I tried to bring in cake for my Birthday, they lied to me, saying it was ILLEGAL, implying I would be fined for it. There is no such law.
I would have been fine if they were honest and told me it was their policy to not allow outside food, but they lied, and that made my already somewhat disheartening night worse.
To be fair, the limited arcade section they had was mostly free, but I don't see myself coming back anytime soon if they are going to make up policies like that.

Great atmosphere. Great customer service, and the food is amazingly good!!! Coming back is a must!! I recommend that everyone stop in at least once..

In town visiting and ended up drunk and hungry outside my hotel. We ended up ordering from Cheesies through Uber eats.

First of all, they're open late af. Also, they serve grilled cheese and other things you probably want when you are drunk.

We got chicken tenders, mac and cheese bites, and the jalapeno popper grilled cheese.

i m visiting chicago with some friends for a few days and was excited to play some free arcade games as the three of us walked into the front door of this cool looking bar we found. within 30 seconds of being inside the establishment, we were approached by a large black man who appeared to be a bouncer, who had asked us why we were there. i had planned on getting a beer but was in no hurry to do so. so i told the guy we were just hanging out. he asks for my id and i provide it to him, as he continues to pester us about what we re doing there. i get it, they don t want people just using the arcade games if they aren t paying customers. but we decided we would rather leave and not spend our money at a place that is basically forcing you to go directly to order food before getting comfortable. we got very bad vibes and decided never felt welcomed to share an experience at this restaurant. i certainly have no desire to go back.

I am sad that i cannot come here as often as I want. They need a 'burbs location! The Tenderizer is the best grilled cheese ice ever had. And great beer selection!! This place is a must-go when visiting Chicago.

Service is always great, but it does get a little crowded, especially as the night goes on. You really can't beat their grilled cheese options, though. Someday I'll stop automatically ordering this when I get home from a night out.
