If you don't have to go there don't. Go somewhere else. I have never had the worst service ever in my life at a hospital emergency room then at this place. I showed up from a motorcycle accident and they didn't even clean any of my wounds. I left the hospital with blood still on me. There was stuff all over my food tray from IV that was put in. They took my necklace and now they say they are not responsible for it being lost.

This is one of the regions best hospitals!
Wait times can be long in the ER/ED as the hospital cares for everyone regardless of insurance or not.
The staff is very friendly and the facility constantly maintained and cleaned.
Ive been hospitalized there twice and the Drs, RNs,Techs saved my life
in 2005!
I have friends who also work there as RN's and Techs.
In 2005 I donated 13 large prints to the hospital staff, Drs and Nurses for a job well done!

My Wife LOVED them during her radiation treatments at the Cancer Care Alliance,... So I have to as well!!! I thank them for keeping my baby safe and getting better... (photos). Most will go their whole lives and never even get to meet anyone as honest, caring and true as she is. I wish she could believe how honestly lost I would be without her entering my life 20+ years ago, and how destitute & cheated that I, the kids and the Universe would be left, if God took her from us early. Clearly, She has more good to do here. She's my Angel. *yes, I Could have spelt (*spelled) that 'Angle', but no laughing at me today. Really, see the pics of the Angel, too bad her Care Team couldn't do anything for lil 'ol Gollum me! I had to give 5 , and I NEVER give more than 4 , just cuz I believe Everything can be improved upon. So there

I'm a kidney patient who never get well there. They send me ho against my physical and health issue.today. this stay, I had to diagnose n come up with treat ment plans to try to aid my problems. I'm not here for pain meds. They wanted to send me home with genitals 4 time normal size. And abnormal blotting belly .they don't tell me anything n options to treat prob.im constantly ignored by hospital. Doc n most nurse staff. The just want to send me home with problems that accured there with no treatment plan nor option. I'm left to figure that out myself. I'm not a doctor. N again I'm not there for pain meds. I've had more bad events than good . I have many witnesses that are just as frustrated then I am. I'm trying to find a way to solve the problem legally. To many years I suffer from thin problems. I can't go through this any more. Legal suggestion are welcome aswell as procedures to follow in this serious problem. Please help.

Took them about an hr just to give my mom pain reliever injection. My mom was in pain for total of almost 2hrs from home, ambulance and ER. Now we are getting a bill for just waiting around for almost a hour just for my mom to get pain reliever injection which she could have gotten either in the ambulance or as soon as she got to the hospital. It was very upsetting having to watch my mother in pain for almost an hour AFTER being taken to a room. She had been experiencing severe cramps for the past 3days. Since she was unable to keep anything down, taking pills wasn't an option. Then her pain suddenly worsen. No one deserves to feel that much pain for as long as my mom did while staying in the hospital. Avoiding this place at all costs from now on. If you want to be taken care of within 15 maybe 20mins DONT COME to this hospital.

As a former EMT I rarely speak I'll of an ER; I understand staff pressures, but my current doctors are horrified.
Two years ago, I walked in with my abuser after not sleeping for a week. I had suddenly developed a fear of sleep. I told the ER staff I was suicidal, plans and means. After my partner left, I said I was being beaten.
The social worker said I was fine, I should be nicer to my abuser, and I had no real problems.
I said I sleep with a loaded gun and he said maybe my male partner should be in charge of it.
I was released, alone, immediately started walking into traffic.
Thank you.
I have learned about asking for help.

The staff on 8 South are WONDERFUL. Patient, kind, understanding and very attentive. They really listen to you. I'm talking about nursing and room staff. Doctors, not so much. The radiology and lab staffs deserve the 5 stars as well.

The ER is beyond words, read the one star reviews. No person with ANY Self Respect, should ever come here. You will be treated like the worlds worst criminal. This is what our liberal vision of a vibrant society has done to us!
You will feel very enriched after your visit to this Prison/Emergency Room , just stunning. I could write more but other one star reviews have saved me the trouble!

If there is another half star, below 1 star, i would give this hospital a half star. They make you wait for hours in ER while you need urgent care, and eventually you will be seen by a PA, who are afraid to do anything or make amy decision. They closed to wound, 1 week later, it gets worst and infected. DO NOT COME HERE. Your medical issue will be worsen after their treatment, will cost your health and money

The nurse was rude and disrespectful. There were only 4 other people in the ER besides us and we were there for 4 hours when all we needed was pain medication for my friend who has ulcers on his legs. My friend was almost screaming in pain but not only did the doctor seem hesitant to give him any pain medication but only gave a 270lb black man 1ml of dilauted. I spoke to the ER director and all she could keep saying is we are understaffed. I could have ran home and got his bandage supplies faster than the nurse did. I'm white and I went in for a pulled muscle and got a morphine drip and got sent home on a ton of muscle relaxers. My friend has a visible cause for his pain as the nerves are exposed and his muscle is almost exposed due to the depth of his ulcers. The staff are racist.

My son was 4 years old, and his big toe was cut open badly. The lady taking down our info started asking him demeaningly, "why are you crying? You don't need to cry." I wanted to slap her. Then, the man doing the stitches did similar things as well. I asked if there was any other way to numb him besides the shots into the toe (which I had experienced myself a year before and it felt worse than anything, anything!) And he looked at me like I was ignorant and said, "why?" Becaue he's just a baby and doesn't need to feel that kind of pain needlessly! All of these medical people said they had kids, but did NOT act like it. I hated the whole experience. They could have handled it much better.
My night from hell!
My night from hell!
We arrived at Providence ER at 8:15 by car. The excruciating pain in my back caused by a kidney stone had started 45 minutes earlier. By the time I was called back to triage, my blood pressure was up to 203/88. The triage nurse had to take it twice with different cuffs because she didn't believe it. I informed her I had a history of high blood pressure and heart arrhythmias. And with all that, we sat in the ER waiting room for 4 hours, with no pain medication. Those of you who've had a kidney stone, and have experienced the acute phase where the stone blocks the ureter causing the kidney to swell up like a balloon, know what I'm talking about. The worst pain imaginable. But the ER was full, all 70 beds, or so they say. So we sat for four long, horrific hours with no relief from the unimaginable, unrelenting pain, constant vomiting and palpitations.
Finally, my boyfriend went to complain vehemently to the staff and was told, "we know kidney stones are painful, but they're not life-threatening. We don't know when we can get her back." Not once in that four hours did anyone come and check on me to see how I was doing, or if there was anything they could do to help, or at least give us some kind of update as to how much longer it might be, so we could make an informed decision as to whether to stay or go elsewhere. No, the nurses and staff at the station were on their cellphones and chatting it up with one another, while the 50+ people in the waiting room were suffering in various degrees.
Is this what our healthcare system has come to? I've seen better, more compassionate triage in third world countries! So we left and went to another ER 30 minutes away. I was taken to a room almost immediately. One thing I know for sure, I will NEVER return to Providence Everett again for any reason, and I will be contacting an attorney to see if there is any recourse for their negligent, thoughtless and sloppy hospital and ER administration. If you value your life, go somewhere, ANYWHERE else! WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!

I'm not too privy to the ins and outs of a shift change at the hospital but apparently it's a huge process, we needed information faxed and the nurse we spoke with said it may not be till the next day because of their shift change. The information was to have my step son released from trade school so he could come see his father before he passed as he had been taken off life support, I understand that is not the staffs problem but when dealing with the loss of a loved one I'd expect a little compassion from a hospital with religious affiliation. It's tragic that it's so difficult to put a piece of paper in a machine and hit 10 buttons, and I'm sorry I inconvenienced the nurse that sounded so bothered at my request...

The ER has a terrible wait time which is understandable for a hospital. The nicest and most helpful person whom i came into contact was the security guard at the front desk, which is sad because you would hope that medical professionals that work in a hospital would be there to help you but this did not feel like the case.
I felt highly neglected as a patient here in this hospital.
I came to the ER because I'm pregnant and i had very heavy bleeding this morning and i was in fear of a miscarriage. Especially since i have already had one with my first pregnancy.
When i first arrived it was 10 am and there were only 4 people besides me in the waiting room. I explained what was going on to the lady at the front desk and she assured me that i would be seen immediately..... it took them 2 hours to get me a room. An additional hour until the nurse even came to the room, and another additional hour just to do an ultra sound. After the ultra sound was completed they told me they would have the results in 30 min........ my fiance and I waited an additional 2 hours for the results and still nothing. So my fiance went to the nurse station and asked for assistance. He was told a nurse would be sent in. we waited an another 30 min for the nurse and nothing. At this point we were so upset and hungry after being in the hospital all day long that we decided to leave and asked for hospital to get back to us with our results. we spent about 7 or more hours at this hospital. after arriving home and making dinner we still had not heard from the hospital about our results, which was very upsetting.... so we decided to call and ask for the results. We were told that they werent able to give us our results at that time (and i quote) "a doctor might or might not be able to give us a call about the results"!!!!!
So long story short. We wasted an entire day at the hospital to make sure our unborn child was okay just to find out that these incompetent fools had no answer or help available for our problem. Absolutely ridiculous and this hospital deserves to be recognized for its incapability to serve patients in need of real medical attention.
I am giving Providence one star because I received...
I am giving Providence one star because I received good medical care there. But the overwhelmingly bad experiences of friends and family, along with the INSANE billing problems I have had with them, knock the other potential stars off.
In April of 2014, I had surgery at Providence Hospital. I was never informed (and if I was, the paperwork showing this is absent from my files) that the hospital will bill for services and then you will get a separate bill for anesthesia. I was in my 20s, had never been through anything more complicated than a root canal, and there was no way I could have known the bills would come separately. I also have no EOB for the anesthesia, just one from the hospital which I assumed covered everything.
I went back and forth initially for several months with Providence hospital, because they had billed me for the surgery when my EOBs stated there should be no charge. It turned out there was a mix up with my claim, and I was told it was all going to be fixed. Then I received a bill from Providence for over $8,000. Several more months of going back and forth and getting calls from the "high dollar department" wondering when I was going to pay my $8,000 "copay" and I finally got a call from Providence saying that my account was clear and I had a zero balance. Only 17 months after surgery!!!
Last week I got a call from a collections agency that Providence Anesthesia Group was sending me to a debt collector for a bill I never paid. I explained that I never got a bill, despite the fact that I lived at my residence for four months after surgery and THEN had my mail forwarded for a year after that. The debt collector was rude and refused to give me any information about who was billing me other than the name, they even said they didn't have the phone number for the anesthesia group (REALLY?!) and that the anesthesia group "didn't want to talk to me anyway" because I don't pay my bills. I finally got the number by calling Providence Hospital. The anesthesia group sent me an itemized bill and after a week of calling around I finally found out they had been billing the insurance incorrectly and my account appears to be stuck in a black hole. Meanwhile, I live under the threat that my credit, which I have worked VERY HARD to maintain, could be messed up by an $1,800 charge that I most certainly do not owe and have no control over.
My husband has had issues with their emergency room, where a dog bite was covered with a Band-Aid by an orderly (never washed out, and he never saw a doctor), yet he was billed for seeing a doctor. My sister was seen for shortness of breath and other issues and told she may just have a psychological condition and sent home (she is now being seen at Virginia Mason, where they are actually doing tests and monitoring). My brother was charged incorrectly for a trip to the emergency room. A friend's brother was said to be "faking it" after having a seizure, and was eventually diagnosed with encephalitis and meningitis, and spent a month in the ICU. I have more stories.
The only way you could convince me to go back to Providence is if I had no other option. And even t hen, I would go in armed with the knowledge that I absolutely can NOT trust their billing systems and will need to take it upon myself to tirelessly follow up and basically do their jobs for them until I know I don't owe insurance anything.
I know I sound like a crotchety old complainer. But I'm not. I'm just a person who doesn't have $10,000 to spend on fake bills, and I hope anybody who reads this knows to be very, very careful with this group.

I only go to Providence centers. Have been the best I have gone to. I also did contract IT work for a year and saw so much behind the scenes. I can't complain about what they go through to get things done. There is a shortage of medical staff. Just look at what they are looking to hire. Sacred Heart alone is looking for at least a hundred positions. So please think twice as they prioritize the urgency of any given situation. You may be blind to the larger picture as the doctor or nurse juggles at least half a dozen patients on top of yourself.

Just terrible. Absolutely no redeeming quality to this place. Only good part is leaving. Negligence runs wild and they'll just send you home without even running more than a simple blood test. Last time I went in for dehydration and they didn't give me enough fluids. I ended up at St. Joseph's later that night and it took two more bags just to start urinating. Still having issues staying hydrated (never been this ill before; whatever it is makes swine flu feel like an orgasm) and refuse to go back to the ER just because I would rather die than step foot in there again. If I had a choice, I would avoid all of Providence like the cancer that it is. I definitely won't be returning to the Emergency Room.

I was told that despite having a massive infection and being in an excruciating amount of pain that if I wasn't more polite then I wouldn't be seen. I don't know of anyone who is cheerful when they feel like their body is being ripped in half. I try to be polite as best I can which wasn't good enough to recieve life saving care. Avoid this emergency room if you actually have an emergency.
The hospital is adequate for basic care...only.
The hospital is adequate for basic care...only.
If you or your loved one have complex medical needs I Can Not recommend this hospital, especially if you anticipate intensive care.
The practitioners at this hospital did not seem to have the knowledge or experience needed to deal with complex issues and consequently risk of harm is higher and was experienced.
More importantly than that, I believe "attitudes effect outcomes". The overall attitude of the practitioners (especially doctors) seemed to lack the life giving approach you would want when you go to a hospital seeking help. I felt as though they looked at the negatives and disabilities vs the positives and the will to overcome. Due to our complexities, we felt as though we were a burden. Due to the overall negative attitude many important details that lead to quality care were overlooked.
We have been to hospitals that do not focus on the disability and diagnosis but rather work to overcome the current hurdle and celebrate that success. They eagerly work to maximize whatever ability or potential is there without focusing on the lack. We have left those hospitals with success and gratitude.
Sadly I leave Providence Everett with an overall sense of regret we chose to go there. Their attitude is one that focuses on the lack rather than the ability. They do not understand the power of the will to live.
Attitudes effect outcomes. I hope they can someday see that.

My friends baby had brain damage from coming here (they didn't say why but it happened during the delivery because he was fine before that per her recent baby ultrasound). I wouldn't come near this place If my life depended on it. The hospital seemed good at first, but I was not sure what was going on half the time there as no one told me anything. I felt the people helping me were heavily over worked and didn't have time to take care of me and it was scary. Next time I'm going south to Swedish or evergreen. Oh and my epidural didn't work either and that was the most traumatizing experience in the world bc I felt every last rip and pain. Also, now since I've had it I'm having back trouble and can't bend over to even pick up my brand new baby. Maybe they need to rethink the process of what there doing, biggest mistake of my life coming here now have permanent issues for life.

Have been waiting with a friend in the emergency waiting room for upwards of 6 hours while she suffers from severe gallbladder attacks. There have been about 100 people in the lobby at one point, they saw fit to serve them all first. If you need immediate attention, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! !
After finally getting in, it took another 5 hours and 4 failed attempts at an IV for the doctor to make a phone call to surgery in order to tell her theres nothing they can do.
To quote another review, "I wouldnt wish their care on my worst enemy."

I am being forced to give this place one star because my review won't post without it. The reality is that I would give them 0 stars if that was a choice.
I have had two experiences with this hospital...one in December of 2012 and most recently on July 13, 2019.... and they have both been substandard. I would be curious to see how many complaints have been filed against them and what exactly is done after the complaints are received. My grandson needed a couple of stitches on his forehead and it was such a chore for the "doctor" that she decided to use glue instead. If they can't handle a couple of stitches then what exactly is happening to the patients who are in serious need of medical attention. I'll take my chances from now on and drive from Stanwood to Seattle for doctors that possess the confidence and experience necessary to provide quality health care. Your life is in their hands and that is a terrifying reality.
This hospital is, for a lack of a better word........
This hospital is, for a lack of a better word.....disgusting. The staff treat people like they obviously hate their jobs (sorry about you life choices) the waiting room in the ER is a mine field of junkies, tweakers, nasty "substances" all over the chairs and floors. Every time we have been in there (3 times this last year) the rooms have blood and god knows what else all over the walls. The beds are dirty and full of dust and junk. I cant even talk about the bathrooms without dry heaving and doucing myself in bleach. How is it ok to treat people this way? There are people living in their cars in the parking garage......Just gross. Anyone that works there should be embarrassed to call yourself a health care worker.

I went twice within weeks of each other forbroken bones and left me sitting in a hard chair for7 hours and then left me on a bed laying on my side which caused me to get bed sores. Even the cat scan they did said I didn't have broken bones. They kept lieing to me. I finally got xrays from my Dr. and guess what, I have 4 broken ribs and more. I will never go back to that hospital.

Most of the staff seem to genuinely care. There are a few that are likely over worked at the ER admitting desk that could tone down the attitude a little but I figure the clientele they often deal with makes them a bit more edgy!

They are the worst doctors there are. No help at all. Bern a patient for over 10 years and now that I am on state insurance they don't care. They don't seem to want to help me any longer. Worst experience I ever had there. The receptionist Colleen was the worst person in my life that I had to deal with. I was 2 minutes late for my appointment and she refused to check me in. So many times did I wait for the doctor when she was running late. Even one time I waited for 3 hours .

The EMTs recently delivered me to the hospital for a much needed removal of my gall bladder. From the admitting Doctor, and his team, the pre-op charge nurse, Gia, Georgia's girl, Jonelle, Charlie and their assistants, Dr. Miller and his team, and the post-op folks, this goofy old guy was treated with respect, even affection and great attention to detail and the risks involved. I cannot imagine a better experience is possible.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Where to even start....First I am a nurse.....I understand the struggles of health care. BUT when I got a call from the medical examiners office that my moms NON-CONSENTED autopsy was complete I was in shock. The ICU staff was TERRIBLE! The only thing a doctor said to me in the hall was "your mom is the sickest person in the hospital" and then walked away. My died after only 36 hours from septic shock. They had accused her of suicide and that was why the autopsy was done. This was NOT discussed with me. And even worse is that PROVIDENCE hospital doesn't even acknowledge that my mom was a Patient there. They won't return my calls, they never sent a hospital bill, even my lawyer tried to contact them and they NEVER responded. They have completely brushed my mom under the rug. I just wanted to have a conversation because I don't want other families to experience the same treatment and judgement.I am ashamed as nurse that other medical staff can treat people this way. I have little confidence in Providence Hospital and have trouble tell my Patients that they have to go there for care. So please use caution when going to providence.

My dad spent a lot of time here & I can not say enough how wonderful the nurses were to him. Especially on the 8th floor D south. They went above & beyond making sure he was well cared for & his needs were met. They showed so much compassion. That care continued when he went up to Hospice for his final days. They treated him & us with the upmost care & respect. I will always be grateful for everything they did for us in a very difficult time.

She stated oh I'm employee when security asked.....he did not check her ID, she went to radiology...was told she needed a paper mask....i told staff she did not go thru check point....i was told oh ...ok....but nothing was done. Coincidentally, I had to be in radiology too.

I did not like giving birth here. I felt they rushed me out too soon and being confused and not knowing that I had more time covered by insurance (and free since I had already met my deductible), I listened. it turned out hte baby was losing weight too fast and my pediatrician had me on a wild goose chase the next day getting help. would have been better to have stayed in the hospital. They should have seen the weightloss problem themselves but didn't mention anything as they ushered me out the door. Add to this the multiple missed IV insertions, the showerhead broken in the birthing room and the utter lack of experience with natural childbirth. Worst of all was the fact that they made fun of me behind my back (my husband heard) when I came it too early... but really my labor had slowed down in the car. Went into the E.R 12:30 at night coughing blood in severe pain from overdose they put me in the waiting room all night didn't call anyone from the waiting room all night 6 hours go by I still haven't been called so I end up going home (cause I need to be able to drive home without falling asleep) still haven't been so much as looked at and the staff showed no empathy throughout any of this and made no attempt to help anyone in the waiting room. Even worse yet I caught the flu because in the waiting room there were homeless people and sick children coughing on me all night.

One Dr. There saved my life. I love the place and staff. Only downside is that if you are new it takes a bit to see a physician since the place is very busy. Make your appointment now. You will have to have patience FYI . Worth the wait to get the help.

I'd give this hospital 5 stars, I've had 2 good experiences besides the wait, BUT THIS NEW PAY TO PARK IS COMPLETE BULLS$&T! Especially if you are under the 30 minutes to park free and it takes 2 minutes in line to get out putting you OVER 3p minutes and now you have to pay... that's FRUSTRATING especially if someone is there sick and you're dealing with that. I go here to get my Rx filled because their prices are great for what I get, so I'm usually in and out in less than 10 minutes. They removed the 15 minute or less parking at main entrance and force you into the "take forever in and out parking garage" and now CHARGE for it!

Four days before a badly-needed appointment made several weeks earlier, they cancelled it and offered a date SEVEN WEEKS LATER. Utter betrayal of the mission they state on their main page.

The care and dedication of the staff, especially the nurses. In our grief stricken moments of lose and helplessness, the nursing staff has been our rock. I, in my grief and pain may have been callous with one, I think her name was Jennifer, which is as far from the intended purpose of my questions in the wee hours of Saturday, September 5th. She was my rock that morning, and I want everyone to know it.

Been waiting for over an hour. There was 3 people here when I arrived. Since then at least 20 people have been taken back while I have kidney and chest pain. They have no regard for non white persons and I am going to have to go to another hospital if I don't pass out first.
