When I need a shirt with a custom-made, tailored feel, this is my go-to place. I always get compliments on every shirt I get from Proper Cloth.

Easy to place an order with accurate measurements, production is quick with great packaging and shipping. The packaging is so beautifully done with tissue paper, etc...it can be wrapped and presented immediately. Follow-up contacts made to make sure the fit and quality are perfect. Extremely pleased with the professional look the dress shirts provide. Flannel shirts fabric weight is great with a comfort feel. Plan on ordering more...thanks!

Proper cloth is awesome in so many ways. Gone are the days of driving to multiple stores to find a dress shirt with a collar that stands up when worn without a tie - that also has french cuffs, no front pocket, etc. etc. Make it how you want it!

Proper Cloth lives by their name and they do EVERYTHING proper! The people at Proper Cloth are pleasant and very helpful and when they say they will do something, their word is as good as gold. I will never order another shirt elsewhere if this service stays the same, why would I? Proper Cloth is the absolute best in their niche market!

After expressing some general interest in their web site after reading some reviews, I signed up and was not overrun with emails pushing me to buy. I got familiar with the site, checked out all the many different options, and got comfortable that I understood my choices before ordering. I took a little time - not a lot, but some - to make sure I understood how to best order to get a good fit, and the differences in fabrics. Having invested just that little bit of time, I easily built the first shirt I wanted. I picked all my personal tastes (French cuffs, upgraded buttons, etc.), and truly enjoyed the process of designing MY shirt. And that is the point - it is uniquely MY shirt. Department stores carry such a limited variety of shirts these days - TRY to find nice French cuffs in a non-tuxedo shirt. A little while later (a couple days earlier than promised) my shirt arrived. The packaging was nice but not overdone. I tried on the shirt, ironed it, tried it on again, then wore it to work. I have to say, I am pretty proud of getting the size right and very happy with the shirt I designed. Proper Cloth made all that possible and at a price that is ultra competitive with shirts of similar or lesser quality, nevermind the customization. Now that I know my shirt fits perfectly, I'm ready to branch out, order some more work shirts, and then try a casual shirt or two. Thanks for the fantastic experience and great shirt!

UPDATE - Ordered some Irish Linen pants and they are FANTASTIC. Comfortable yet dressy. My new favorite pants instantly.

Just purchased and received my fifth shirt. PERFECT FIT!!! Shrunk slightly more than others. I am very difficult to fit and so happy to know that every shirt is perfect. Wish it wasn't so expensive, but then again if it wasn't I'd probably have more than I need! HIHI.

a really great service. i was not completely familiar with my measurements and when the initial shirt arrived and did not fit properly-their service to correct it was fantastic. the incorrect fit was my fault not theirs. free of charge. I love the options on colors, buttons, cuffs, material, etc. if you get your measurements right, you will never go to a store again. Great service.

Proper cloth is the premier atelier in producing quality men's ,wear fashion. My first shirt from them that was produced based off of Downtown Abbey style is beautiful. They have an entire line of shirts for men, as well as ties, jackets, suits. I look forward to shopping again.

I have my second shirt this week, and Proper Cloth has again outdid itself with a beautifully crafted, tailored shirt. The color is wonderful. The collar is magnificent. You really need a great collar to compliment the bodice, shirt length and arm length.

Customer service was great, custom shirt/suit tailors are knowledgeable and efficient when you book an appointment at the NYC studio. First iteration of the shirt was a little baggier than intended, but they are more than happy to refit (free) and the second try they nailed it, so all subsequent shirts fit perfect (assuming I don't change shape!). Fabrics offered are highest quality. Definitely recommend if the price is right!

This place is perfect for guys who have a hard time finding the perfect shirt. I am very particular when it comes to the collars as most of the shirts I find are very flimsy. This place is the ideal for guys looking for custom made shirts to your exact measurements. Even if the shirt doesn't have the perfect fit, they will alter it for you at no extra charge just to make sure it is perfect. I just wish I knew about Proper Cloth sooner.

Great experience overall. Tons of fabric options, including some very high quality choices at reasonable prices (and plenty of much fancier stuff if that's your thing!). Customer service is top-notch and delivery is super fast. If you can get fitted in the New York location, get measured there for your first shirt and go back if it needs some adjustments. Once you get your measurements perfected, order away! I would highly recommend for anyone looking to get the best bang for your buck on custom shirts. I've tried a few other options and none hold a candle to Proper Cloth!

I have purchased multiple cotton/linen masks and this is by far THE best one! You can order the masks with either adjustable ear loops or around-the-head elastic. It is made from quality cotton with beautiful stitching to form a nicely contoured shape. It has the best coverage for the face I have ever purchased. It goes from the bridge of the nose to well under the chin. I ordered the large one and it fits perfectly, even though I am a woman and do not have the largest face! I love the coverage, plus there is a very comfortable nose wire for a better fit better around the nose. I have not found many cotton masks that have the nose wire. It is especially important if you wear glasses to help prevent fogging. I am so impressed by this mask, I went back and purchased a multicolored 3-pack! I had not heard of this company before, but am so happy to have found them. They are interested in what you have to say about your shopping experience as well as the product purchased. They also ask for any suggestions you have to help them improve. The masks have already gone through through 4 or 5 versions that improve upon the last. This is a great mask from a quality company! Would absolutely highly recommend! Just buy a 3-pack the first time around, like I wish I had done!

Went here to buy a suit with my boyfriend. Very experienced staff. Ready to ask just the right questions to make sure you re getting the perfect fit they offer two alterations just in case it s not right the first time!

Great tailored shirts for $100-$150 per shirt. The sizing is the perfect.

I've been searching for a good place to get custom shirts ever since I took a trip to Hong Kong. Finding anything close to reasonable rates in San Diego for custom shirts is difficult at best. Thank god for the internet, because Proper Cloth fits that niche perfectly. Excellent pricing, professional service delivering professional shirts that I don't feel like a jerk in. Just visit a local tailor before ordering sight unseen and save yourself some back and forth on fitting.

I'm a short and stocky guy, so off the rack shirts just don't fit. I don't care what you buy or where you go, shirts aren't make for 5'6" guys with 18" necks and a 44" chest. Everything ends up looking like a tent maker is my tailor, or I can't button the top button. This is the first (of soon to be many) shirts that actually fit, look good, and feel great. The construction is top quality and the response times were superb. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Took a chance and ordered a single shirt online, by answering the guided questions about my dimensions and fit. Surprised to say it worked out very well! Two weeks later I had a really nice custom dress shirt on my doorstep. I love the brass collar stays and the fabric is very soft. I promptly ordered three more shirts. Great stuff!

Proper Cloth does an excellent job of not only offering a bewildering number of fabrics and options, but also making those options easy to sort through and choose through tips, recommendations, and education. And if you still manage to screw up your order, the customer service is amazingly helpful. I can't recommend Proper Cloth more.

I bought a shirt from Proper Cloth using their Smart Size tool. I've never had a tailored shirt before and I didn't know most of my measurements, but the shirt that they sent me was a very good fit. I'll definitely be buying more shirts from them.

Wow, great site. You need a friend and a cloth tape measure to get the measurements right but once that's done you are home free. I have a 16 year old with a 37.5 sleeve length who is tall but not big and tall, perfect fit! It helps if you know your way around custom shirts as there are a lot of variable but if not, wade through, it's worth it. Much more user friendly than the Mercer site and way cheaper than my Tom James guy who has been making my shirts for years. Also they make popover shirts, which are an old favorite and very hard to find in basic fabrics. Give this site a try!

I love how this shirt keeps you warm when there is a chill in the air, and also cools you down when the temps heat up. And the best part is that is looks like a high thread count dress shirt and drapes like silk. Easy to dress up or go casual with this Italian woven wool shirt.

I have ordered from Proper Cloth twice, and it was an excellent experience both times. I had my roommate take my measurements very, very carefully based on their instructions, and my first shirt came out perfectly. Even if it doesn't, they will make adjustments for free, and then you will have the measurements for all future orders.

The second time I ordered, I was overseas at an FPO, where Fed Ex does not really ship. I contacted Proper Cloth using the "Contact Us" page on their site, and Seph sent me an email very quickly offering to make alternative shipping arrangements at no extra cost. I have spent a fair amount of time overseas, and never have I seen a company so helpful in accommodating the shipping requirements involved. I really love their shirts, and now I know that Seph and his team will really go that extra mile to take care of the customer. I will definitely be ordering from them again, and recommending them to my friends and family who appreciate fine shirting.

The website design is very polished, intuitive, functional and attractive. Proper Cloth puts a focus on a good online shopping experience, and provides easily accessible help for people that don't know how to figure out their measurements, which makes ordering from them pleasant and easy. The shirts are made perfectly to specifications, and they allow for a huge amount of customization without it being overwhelming or redundant, which helps make the shirts feel more personal. It's expensive, but actually worth it imo -- the shirts live up to the price if you are responsible in your decision making about which and how many fabrics to buy, and how well you measure yourself. They also provide a single free resizing of one shirt from your first purchase, so if you get the size wrong the first time, you can have another chance with no extra cost, which you'll probably have to do the first time because measuring yourself for an online order is tough. I've had a great experience with their online service so far, and am happy with everything about my shirts. Never been to the shop in person though.

Best fitting shirts I have purchased. Equal to custom tailoring although prices are still on the high side.

Ordered a shirt using my own measurements and shirt arrived 2 weeks later. First edition was close but not 100%. Contacted Proper Cloth and sent through some photos of me in the shirt. They recommended some changes and then got new shirt in the post. Perfect. Yes, you have to send first shirt back at your expense but that is clear on the web site. Material is nice and now I ve ordered a 2nd shirt. Great service.

If you are tired of brand name cuts that don't fit, go with these folks. This is the only place I spend money on shirts.

I've undoubtedly gone overboard with Proper Cloth shirts. My closet is full of them, and I've given gift certificates as Christmas presents to my brothers and nephews. It's just so great to wear shirts that fit.

This service has already ruined me for buying shirts by store. I came to it through a podcast advertisement and the experience I've had hear has actually bolstered my use of all services that advertise this way. The site is great and provides all you need to customize the size of shirts including little videos about the different measurements. The shirt itself damn near moved me to tears. I knew my current shirts weren't perfect fits but I didn't know just how wrong they were till I had my Proper Cloth shirt on. As a bonus, the delivery came ahead of schedule and you earn credit for providing feedback.

I saw this company on a bespoke shirt review and decided to give them a chance. I m 5 7 and 170lbs so I have a hard time finding shirts that are slim fit, but not tight. When I saw that Proper Cloth was made to measure, I had to give them a try. I used their sizing tool and made slight alterations for the size as needed. The shirt I ordered was $180 which is slightly pricy, but once the shirt arrived, I was convinced that the price was worth it. When the shirt arrived, it was more than I could have imagined. The size was absolutely perfect and the features (mother of pearl buttons, brass collar stays) were incredible. I would 100% absolutely recommend Proper Cloth and I will undoubtedly be ordering more shirts.

I am very slim (especially my neck), and because of that, it is very difficult for me to buy shirts off the rack that fit properly. I had a family wedding to go to, and I was in a bind. With 13 days to go until the wedding and no shirt, I contacted Proper Cloth to explain the situation. Their staff was very friendly and accommodating. They told me that they could get me a shirt in 10 days. I actually received it in 9, a day earlier than expected. That is true customer service.

The quality and fit of the shirt is unmatched. I have never owned a dress shirt that fit me so well, which is the main benefit of going custom. The quality of the fabrics is amazing as well and there are many to choose from. Broadcloths, pinpoints, oxfords etc. They have a shirt for every occasion. If you are thinking about buying a custom shirt, I would highly recommend Proper Cloth. You will never want to buy a dress shirt in a department store again.

Shirt fit nicely and felt good. The website was difficult to navigate, and confusing. The support provided was quite poor. I find it very difficult to justify the price they charge. Considering the quality does feel superior to other companies.

Lots to learn, but follow the measurement instructions on the site carefully and you should get a pretty decent fitting shirt. Afterwards, the more you learn, the more you can customize for a fit that most people will never come close to approaching. And for years, the service has consistently been outstanding, which is no easy task I imagine

Makes buying shirts off the rack pointless. For an extra $20 or $30 you can get a shirt that fits perfectly. This makes it longer lasting and more useful for me. The fabric selection is pretty good too.

I really like proper cloth. They have a great variety of shirts at different price points and an infinite number of combinations. It s fun to build your own shirt and know that their ironclad customer service guarantee is behind it. I have never had a problem with the company. Of course within reason they allow you to exchange shirts you may not like or exchange a shirt that does not fit properly. But after a while this becomes a non-issue since you can dial in your exact fit very quickly. Since I started using proper cloth I have developed a wish list of cool fabrics for different seasons. I m sold on the company and I m sure you will be too. Good luck

Very impressed with the shirts I received from Propercloth. The customer service is outstanding and the videos to measure yourself really make for a perfect fit. For the price I don t think you can find a better custom-made shirt on the market. I will be back to purchase again. The fabrics are as described, these are well made shirts with comfortable fabrics that will last.

I always found it hard to find shirts that fit me well and this is basically how I buy all my shirts now. Once you get the sizing dialed in, you're all set to pick the colours and fabrics you like and build a collection where every piece fits perfectly. They have a good mix of patterns and styles, both formal & casual. The retail store gives great service too if you're able to get there.

I wear a suit and tie daily. I rotate through about 15 white and light blue dress shirts constantly. My personal favorites are my Proper Cloth shirts. They are as tough as a B.B. shirt. After a year of wear they really don t took much different than new. The custom fit makes me look far better than I deserve, and keep me looking sharp in the office and at dinner with my wife. I ve been buying and wearing 5eir shirts for well over a year, and my only issue is that I wasn t wearing them earlier. Buy em. You ll love them.
