Prince Alfred Hotel - Port Melbourne Review

Renovation is amazing they have gorgeous beer garden and beautiful food and craft beers. If you don't know it yet go and visit! You will not be disappointed!

New management are great and friendly, nice relaxed vibe!

Great boozer. We were there last night and enjoyed the awesome range of craft beer and very tasty burgers. Friendly staff and live music cap the experience off nicely. Highly recommended.

Love the food, love the beer selection but what makes this place 5* is the staff. Great team of guys and girls who give this place the edge over others in the area. Well worth the walk from the beach to get there. I'd go as far as saying my favorite venue in Melb.

Give this place a big miss.
Food order took over 50 mins to arrive and was cold and it was not fully flavoured. They did provide a replacement meal but Lamb Shanks were effectively stewed not slow cooked. Chicken snitzels were also also below par.
To top it off they were screening a close AFL game and then turned it off 16 mins before the end of the game after customers had watched previous three and a bit quarters.
Some of the staff tried hard to compensate for the failures of the establishment and management but despite their best efforts they were unsuccessful.
There are alternate venues nearby who value their customers give them a go.

Such a cosy place to hang out on rainy days and grab a good meal and a pint of craft beer from there ever changing range.

Very friendly staff and great vibe. They offer many options of tasty beers on tap as well as by the bottle. The kitchen makes delicious meals with a special recommendation to try the burgers.
It is good environment to go with family or friends. The trivia nights are great fun.
On the weekend there is live music and good looking people floating around.

Perfect neighbourhood pub - with delicious grub. And as a first time mum, I was floored with how accommodating they are... warming up bottles, sterilising dummies, showing me the comfy chair in a quiet spot to breastfeed. Absolute legends. 10/10. Would recommend :)

This is your go-to venue in Port Melb folks. As an ex-local of many years, I came back to catch up with some mates and my man Glenny was excited to show me how good PA s has become under the current owners. Did not disappoint and made me wish I still lived nearby - staff here seem to love working there and make you feel like part of the crew, burgers were A+ and range of tap beers will offer something for everyone. Great job all, this is where I ll come back to every time I m back in Port.

Today we picked up some friends from their cruise ship on there return to Perth.
Not really knowing the area i had picked the Prince Alfred hotel and had my fingers
crossed.The powers that be were on my side as we had a truly lovely three hours
catching up over a really tasty lunch.The staff were fantastic.So helpful and cheerful.
All our meals were to our liking,my swordfish just melted in the mouth.I put a late order
in for the hot chocolate pudding and the chef was happy to oblige me.It was heavenly.
Soft chocolate sponge cake with a melting heart.I would definately recommend the Prince
Alfred Hotel to anyone travelling through(or living in) the Port Melbourne area.

I came on a Thursday night for the trivia and had an unforgettable experience. The host was funny and outgoing and the questions were challenging yet achievable. Will definitely keep coming back for the ambience and challenge.

The bar itself was not huge yet very cosy. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were cheap. Excellent experience!

Great service and food. Loved the takeaway beers in lockdown. We tried a whole heap. Can't wait to come back when we are fully open! Havent tried the rooftop area but am sure it will be a great setup!

A great local pub. Perfect for families as well as a night out with friends. Recently visited to see some great live music and catch up with mates. They always have great selection of drinks including a fresh selection of craft beers on tap which can be paired with some good pub grub. Thanks to Tom and the team for turning PAs in to the best pub around.

Bloody brilliant pub! Great friendly service and sensational food.. had a steak and chips with some garlic bread and the steak was above average but the chips and garlic bread were next level.. how can garlic bread be next level?? Go and find out

Great food, amazing selection of beers and excellent service - my wife's meal was mistakenly cleared when she stepped away from the table; when I mentioned this to the staff they quickly and apologetically replaced it.

I love the Prince Alfred Hotel, their local beers are the best and I remember when you can go to the bar and ask the bartender for suggestions.

now, my experience was not as great due the app they have called Mr Yum.

if you are one of those that you love the old good pub features, certainly the idea of forcing you to use the Mr Yum app is not ideal. Not only takes time to set it up, you need to re order through that instead of going to the bar and ask for your 2nd beer.

Please note that this is the reason I gave 4 out of 5. We order food, this was great and you still can order through the staff but please, if you are listening, just get things back to normal! get a safe to use app for COVID and let people enjoy the pub without putting distance between service and clients.

There are plenty of bars that are doing just that, and let me tell you that their beer experience is better.

Burgers are the best around; chicken burger is my fav. Variety of good beers on tap which rotate often. Friendly staff. Tom and Anna run this place beautifully. DJ is always playing the right tunes. Solid Trivia. This is our local watering hole and we even bring our doggo from time to time.

An amazing,hearty warm pub that has been there for burgers and pints and rooftop sessions. Being close was a serious contemplation when leaving Port. Staff make you feel part of the family.

This is our fave local by a long shot...have trampsed over with the tribe in tow from Station St on several occassions bypassing many a fine establishment on the way, only to repeatedly settle for Team Tom and their great drink, dining and hospitality! Our young-uns are made to feel welcome and they relish the board games while the big kids get social...KUTGW

Serving size was decent but the food Ive ordered was a bit bland.

Dropped in at lunchtime - the place was mostly empty and the floors a little sticky. The barmen however was fantastic; funny, attentive and capable of making a pretty fine coffee. Would recommend of you find yourself passing by.

My fiancee and his work mates went here Friday night for a work do and well I am very DISGUSTED in the way my fiancee was treated! Kicking a paying patron out of your pub for no good reason other than HIS APPEARANCE is RACIST to say the least and for your information he is actually a hard working Australian man and I will be telling ANYONE and EVERYONE not to come to your bar COREY MCKERNAN!!
