Very ancient abbey first originated in 1080, the monks make beautiful guided tours, then a small shop with the products of the monastery.
A beautiful and truly great abbey, it can only be visited with the guidance of a monk. It is wheelchair accessible, the cost for the visit is free. Attached is a shop where the monks sell some of their products.
Place of great spirituality and culture. A guided tour is especially recommended in combination with that of the monumental library, on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. Do not neglect also the store with the products of the abbey, from wines to numerous varieties of honey, herbal teas and more.
The abbey is really very beautiful from an architectural and artistic point of view. Unfortunately, not having booked, I did not have the opportunity to visit the back gardens but from the shop you can see them and in my opinion they deserve a second visit! I loved the shop with the products of the abbey (they don't only have their own products), really well stocked. I especially appreciated the variety of spices and their cosmetic assortment (creams, soaps, shampoos, etc.) absolutely to try for three reasons: 1 organic 2 very fragrant 3 in their leaflets show the benefits of each ingredient. I bought a soap with thermal water (3.50 ).
When I was a child, I took the beauty here 8 times, so for me it is a place full of the sweetness of past memories. To visit, especially the libraries, and I recommend a ride to the shop where you can get some excellent honey and some infusion
Benedictine Abbey of Praglia at the foot of the Euganean Hills. To visit absolutely. It's worth it. An oasis of peace that elevates the spirit.
Beautiful abbey with adjoining convent, for those who need to visit in passing.
beautiful, magical place with its own history: I highly recommend it
I happened to taste DECANUS 2012 ...
simply fantastic
A very quiet place that cannot be missed for those who come to us in this place where nature is always more beautiful and the abbey of straw is a spiritual place that is located at the foot of the Euganean Hills
Very nice and interesting products from the excellent friars, interesting.
The abbey is a true architectural gem. The guided tour was also very interesting for my children who usually do not love them. In addition there is a shop where there are many products ... Wines, herbal teas, creams, honey
Little known, without road signs nearby. Beautiful Abbey, jewel of a library (in fact it is a national monument). Very beautiful the church, a pity really not illuminated even during the guided visits. Fascinating, though perhaps not an appropriate term, the cross of the Venetian school of Giotto painted on both sides
Historic Benedictine abbey, the guided tour is magnificent, they produce and sell wine and honey on everything but also many other local products.
To be seen.
Beautiful sacred place to visit in the Euganean Hills. Products prepared by the Benedictine Friars !!!
Tourist site of exceptional scenic presence in the heart of the Euganean Hills! It offers the visitor an opportunity to deepen their spirituality, as well as a panoramic view of the entire hilly area rich in vineyards and cellars! The taste of good wine is combined with the taste of the most extensive and varied cuisine of local products of superior quality!
Huge monastery that makes the Middle Ages alive. Absolutely to visit if you are in the area Padua. Do not forget to visit the shop of the monastery products like honey, wine etc.
Beautiful Historic Place immersed in the peace of the Euganean Hills
A convent abbey. With an excellent natural pharmacy with a lot of choice of the friars' products.
The friar who guided us was very good. He was able to teach and have fun. Beautiful and large abbey.
It is a very beautiful and evocative place! Deserves to be seen!
Magical place .... interesting guided tour ... nice shop
Imposing building especially when you've been for many years in.boarding school with nuns...lots of interestings products made at the abbey tha you can buy...lovely.environment
Beautiful abbey at the foot of the Euganean hills.
Possibility to buy herbal teas, ointments, etc. produced on site by the friars.
Striking cloisters and the ancient library is truly extraordinary
Excellent impression for an ad hoc guided tour. The only drawback the fact that he could not visit the library which, I believe, is a national monument even counting the existence of bookbinding workshops on site. The monk who led us did not just mention some ...
Fantastic abbey with the possibility of a very interesting guided tour of the monastery and purchase of the monks' products.
All beautiful; the problem arises when people with physical problems are involved. Good evening to all of you from the heart : LONG LIVE LIFE
I went on a Sunday, returning to visit the abbey made me remember the first time I came on a trip with the school, I will definitely come back again
Its a monastery of Benedictine Monks. It's a nice place to visit and pray. The monks here sell some products like jam, wine, cosmetics and candies made by monks
Beautiful abbey, in the evocative setting of the Euganean hills. Good starting point for a trip outside the city (from the parking area a path goes around the hill).
The guided tour is very interesting, even if you are not interested in the religious aspect. Do not miss the visit to the store, with products made by the monks.
The network of Benedictine monasteries was the first and true united Europe. In this place you come into contact with the glorious roots of our history and with the present of a life lived in intelligent harmony with Creation.
A place that, despite the extreme popularity, remains a stimulus to recollection.
The beauty of the Benedictine spirit and culture is vivid here. A journey into an important part of the European identity
The abbey is very interesting and the visit to the convent under the guidance of a Benedictine monk who is not enthusiastic about the presence of us visitors
A suitable place to meditate and find a little peace.
a positive energy ... nice to visit the convent. .c is the possibility to make a walking path that starts from the abbey
Historic Abbey, passes the path of St. Anthony. There are guided visits by the friars in the afternoon, with free offer, we meet for departure in the store of their products.
It is a beautiful abbey the largest in Europe .. the friars explain its history very well and all the activities they do there is also an elborario .... fantastic
The Abbey of Praglia is a monastery in a wonderful place on the Euganean Hills. Interesting for its history, for the art it contains. A place of spiritual meditation, where the Benedictine monks accompany you in prayers.
Nice place to visit with a nice and prepared friar that takes you to visit the abbey. Very relaxing place where you can also possibly stay.
A wonderful abbey, the fathers are wonderful for their professionalism and availability. Their products are exceptional. An exclusive thing is their bitter herb. Every year I go to buy their products.
At the sales office of the Abbey I recommend the purchase of the bitter 15-degree elixir with a very pleasant taste and not too intense (digestive Doc).
Peace and tranquility are the emotions that are experienced in Praglia ...
Mystical and Christian place ... Very special Benedictine Friars ... To see with the free visits guided by a very cultured and likeable Friar every hour. You'll find yourself for an hour in a world of the past and still very different from the one you live daily. They live their "creed" intensely and completely. Very beautiful place you will find all the products that the Friars produce independently.
The place is very beautiful and peaceful. Unfortunately I was there in a cloudy and rainy day and I suggest you to come in a sunny day. However the carisma of monks is very desiderable.
Visiting it inside is really beautiful. There is also a shop for their products.
splendid tourist and religious site. corner of beauty, nature and history. with adjoining shop with natural products, herbs, herbal teas and souvenirs ....
Place of peace. Beautiful church. To visit the monastery
Monumental and well-kept complex in a very nice position, if you go around it is worth visiting
Nice place! History, Art, Nature and Prayers for the Soul
Very nice, even the interior deserves a guided tour there are interesting things
In this place you will find peace, silence and a lot of tranquility .. ideal place to reflect
For walkers there is a nice undemanding route and you can end up with a visit to the shop
... always remains a beautiful place. Oasis of peace at the foot of the Euganean hills.
The Abbey of Paglia is the most ancient and monumental Benedictine Monastery of Europe, the sonic monks also skilled restorers of books and ancient paintings, as well as skilled winemakers of all types of wine from the Euganean Hills, from Serprino (glera, same a more fruity Prosecco vine) with Merlot aged in barrique, Muscat orange blossom, and Raboso and Pinello
Beautiful and interesting. Positioned on the Euganean hills in this season it deserves a vjsita cln the Benedictine fathers available for a guided and cordial vizita. The shop deserves a stop to buy vli elixir of their production and the bar under the abbey to drink a drink and why not .... Doing a mini soccer or ping-pong game, with that ancient taste of youthful carefree and hours spent oratory
