Ended up not buying anything because i didnt like much of anything they had to offer. I went on a Friday afternoon.. so maybe a Sat/Sun morning would be better.

Love a good hometown bakery. Great jelly rolls and biscuits.

Really friendly staff. We ordered cupcakes, cookies, donuts and scones. All were delicious and not too heavy on the stomach! Will go back on our next trip to try the cinnamon twist glazed donut!

I know understand the difference between Potomac bakery on Potomac Ave. than the one in Mt. Lebanon. The cakes in Mt. Lebanon is not as fresh. I will for now on go the one Potomac Ave. There bake goods are so much more fresh and better. I didn't have such good experience with the one in Mt. Lebanon. So I made a decision not to go back to the bakery at all. Until a friend bought a cake frome Potomac Ave. What a big big difference. As long as Potomac ave doesn't change what they are doing I will definitely continue to go there. Js..just my opinion

Their white cake is my mom's gold standard to which she judges all other cakes against. It's a pretty high standard.

When I was a young kid my uncle Harry pastries cakes all kinds of things cookies all kinds of things and they were as good as they were back when they first opened up.

It's good if you can choose a fresh cake and do not choose which is already in refrigerator and go with other options if you don't have time

Potomac Bakery has the absolute best cakes for any occasion. No to mention the best donuts in Pittsburgh.

Our wedding cake was really tasty, but they didn't do the exact design and colors that we discussed and ordered. I didn't care, since it was close enough, still looked and tasted good, but if your cake is something that you care about getting just-so, I'd think twice.

The products are yummy being family run business. They are inexpensive. A day old items are sold for a dollar which was still fresh like new. Birthday cake is their specialty would give it a try soon. Felt cookies are little expensive ranging from 30 to 80c pretty piece. Be prepared to pay by cash if the bill is below 10$.

We love Potomac Bakery for a lot of baked goods. We get birthday cakes, doughnuts, cookies, and other goodies.

The best bakery I have yet to find in the Pittsburgh Area. One of the best EVER actually. Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes, Apple Dumplings, Lady Locks, Thumb Print Cookies, French Bare Claws, Tarts, Brownie Boats and more! There Breads are top notch as they just melt in your mouth.

Parking is a little rough in dormont but it's worth the hassle to park.this bakery has the best brownies and donuts.the employees are courteous and. friendly.excellent fast counter service.great price and delicious pastries. better than giant eagle.

Got the most beautiful birthday cake here decorated for fall. Everyone raved about the taste of the cake and the buttercream icing.

Except for the 9" hair in my bear claw. Hair nets should not be an option! Doesn't matter how good it tasted,the hair was a downer. I will try them again but if I find any more surprises I'm done.

I am obsessed with the buttercream stuffed French pastry. It is truly the best buttercream anywhere in the Pittsburgh area. The cinnamon pastry is always fresh and flaky. If I'm going to ruin my diet, this is what I'm getting! Put a few fresh berries on the side and it's heaven!

I ve only been here twice and I wasn t overly impressed either time, but the staff is so welcoming and accommodating that I forgave that. I d rather give a small, family run bakery my business than Giant Eagle anyway.

People Rave about their glazed donuts when I take them into work I can find no better in the entire city of Pittsburgh for a glazed donut if you don't believe me try a donut hole for $0.50. The donuts are cheaper than Dunkin Donuts which is a block away. They also have delicious cakes Cupcakes, fresh baked bread. They've been doing this for almost a hundred years. You would be remiss not to visit the Potomac Bakery in Dormont if you're coming through Pittsburgh

Love, love, love their chocolate cake and chocolate icing! I ordered myself one for birthday last year.

We ordered FIVE of their specialty cakes for our wedding- quarter sheet size because it wasn't much more to split up the flavors.

They were all beautiful, the staff was great to work with, and they all tasted amazing.

They delivery for the cafeteria where I work for breakfast (pastries, cookies, donuts, muffins, etc). They also cater all the parties with pre ordered cakes that are always really good! The only thing is that the icing is really sweet but still good! The delivery drivers that drop the goods off at night usually have a bag of some donuts/cookies for whoever opens the kitchen door for them. They are all really friendly! I have yet to go to the actual bakery but with tasting what I have from them I would definitely consider it. My personal favorites are their cake donuts, cinnamon muffins, and sprinkle cookies.

Purchased 24 cupcakes for my Daughter's baby shower. The icing was dark pink with a ridiculously small amount clear sprinkles. The icing on the cupcakes looked like a 5 year old did them !!! The icing was not even enough to cover the chocolate and yellow cake. I also purchased cupcake covers and the cupcakes where so small, I could not use them !!!! I was humiliated. I will be contacting the store for a refund and cancelling my order for May 11th and obtaining a refund !!!!! Can not and do not recommend !!!! 100% refund received. Thank you !!!!

Ordered 100 cupcakes for my grandson's graduation party. They help me out to the car with them and they were wonderful!!

I really enjoyed the baked goods here ! The pistachio muffin was delicious and not too sweet. The cinnamon crunch muffin and pumpkin muffin were great too. The prices are fair and they have different options all the time. I will definitely be buying breakfast here more often! They also have sweet muffin options like blueberry and chocolate chip. I definitely recommend this place!

Ordered a birthday cake for an office birthday. The decoration was nice, the chocolate frosting was good, but the cake itself was a bit dry and too dense. Underwhelmed.

These are some of the best pastries you can have in Pittsburgh, if you want something delicious I recommend the muffins.

Artery clogging ingredient hydrogenated oil is used and they will not customize to omit it. Staff and especially owner can be unfriendly.

I was craving Cinnamon Rolls and was passing through Dormont. I grabbed three midday and they still were fresh! And they fulfilled my craving!

I love there bake goods but have had a bad experience three times with Potomac bakery. First time my daughter 16th birthday cake she loves red velvet cake we are cutting in to her cake at party and I cut into a chocolate cake. Second time I order a 1/4 double layer square cake for my birthday and one of the layer of the cake was only half a layer. Third time was my birthday again I order a 1/4 of a sheet cake that I order every year for my birthday I get there they have an 8" round cake for my that when I order the cake I talk to girl I gave her size and prize that I paid last year for it. And she gave me the total of my order witch was wright. I come from McKeesport for these cake because in enjoy them, not to get there and I am buying the wrong thing. This will be last time I every order any thing from them no mater how much I like there stuff. The sales girl the did not get my order was KJ.

The pricing is great. The cannolis and brownies were amazing. The cake seemed a little dry to me and the lemon square wasn't what I thought it would be. Overall, great deserts and will come again.

I adore Potomac bakery. My birthday cakes almost always come from here. Get the whipped cream frosting though, not the other. Brownies are delicious! They usually have some sort of really unusual or pretty pastries for special occasions and holidays. Staff is most always helpful and friendly!

We walk here with our kids at least once a week. The staff is always friendly and patient with my 4 year old son while he picks which cookies he wants. The lady locks are a must buy as are the chocolate delights. Their breads are really good as well. This place is part of what makes Dormont an amazing place to live.

This was the one year we forgot to order a birthday cake. No other bakery could make a cake order and have it ready for that day. Then we found this one and we couldn't be happier that we did. Everyone agreed that it was the best cake we'd had. The people working here are friendly and provided excellent service. Will definitely order from them again.

We were able to smell the sweets from down the block and had to find the source. The pastries were great, even for it being late in the day.
