Sophisticated yet cozy hotel. Favourite place to stay in the Banff area. All the amenities you could want for an apres ski evening or a day at the spa.

I mean it's a god damn Relais & chateau everything is so nice and is really close to the lake louise skiing so that's was good
Amazing experience. The dinner and breakfast were elegant and delicious. The log cabin was top tier with a modern 5 star bathroom.
The Post Hotel is our home away from home! We cannot find enough adjectives to describe how wonderful this place is!
The attention to detail and professionalism of staff is why we continue to come back.
Treat yourself to a five star experience and you will be coming back again and again!
It was a great experience i loved the peeps out there peeps were awesome. Love canda canadians are best ppl alive ily canada's inhabitants. But yeah the rooms were great and tidy and made for a great experience. Also the restaurants were great in the hotel great food. Some of the best bison tenderloin i've ever had. Loved it here
The pipestone cabin is amazing. The sound of river and the views of it is so calming.
We only went to the restaurant there. Very nice place and the food was great but not sure it was worth the high price...
Beautiful hotel with and incredible restaurant! Their wine list is remarkable!
The Post Hotel is truly a 5-star hotel. Excellent staff and excellent restaurant. It's next to the river and guests can walk across the little bridge to Lake Louise village. I've stayed in the Cheatau Lake Louise before and I would definitely vote for the Post Hotel.
We have been to the Post Hotel before and it was always an excellent time away. We just visited with them this last week and the efforts the staff are going to keep the guests safe during this challenging time is unparalleled.
George Andre, Michael and their team provided another great experience for the both of us on our 20th anniversary and special birthday. Thank you so much to all of you and may you all get through these times better than ever.
It was terrific as always! Our favourite mountain getaway.
HR was great from start to finish. All the cooks were very friendly and a great environment with a lot of diverse talent.
It was too cold and rainy for breakfast at our campsite. We were slightly sleep deprived since we were camping with our toddler and 6 month old. So we went to the Post Hotel for breakfast really by accident. We had meant to go someplace else (marketed by google maps as kid friendly) but turned left instead of right.
At the sight of the wine glasses and white table clothes and average age of guest being what seemed to be 50 (there is limited patience for excited toddlers and fussy babies), we felt like we probably should leave.
But!
The staff were so accomodating (even brought a pillow for the baby's highchair, put milk into our toddler's sippy cup, and asked the chef for his hollandaise recipe because we were curious) and the food was amazing!!!
Seriously the food was fantastic. The best eggs benedict we have ever had.
And the price was so unbelievably low for the wonderful service and tasty food.
I feel like I've stumbled on some sort of mountain secret.
Haha we were also really lucky in that our kids behaved well.
Thank you, Post Hotel! I've been telling all my childless couples to visit! I've also been telling my friends with kids to go with the caveat of mindfulness of surroundings.
elegant place, good food. breakfast not included in a fairly high room rate. the water of the swimming pool is rather cold, the jaccuzzi definitely too hot. try the bison in the fine dining, it was very tasty. prices are also quite high in the restaurant.
One of the best hotels in the world. Everything perfect
While visiting the Banff / Lake Louise area from Dallas, TX with some friends, we had dinner at the Post on Friday night, October 11th on advice from nearly everyone. We were staying at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. We found the Post to be one of the best retaurant experiences we have ever had. Since we and my friends are admitted dining "snobs" who enjoy a monthly restaurant odyssey back in the states, we are not easily impressed, but certainly were with the Post. The quality and freshness of the food, our waitperson, Peter and his recommendations for food and wine, and the entire staff made is both enjoyabloe and memorable. We actually triend to get in the next day but were unable to due to their holiday bookings. Try it! It is well worth your time!
The post hotel is a fantastic accommodation. The pool and spas are so relaxing
We had our wedding here and everything was great. Food and venue was perfect.
Very nice hotel with a great restaurant. Lobby snd conference/meeting rooms tend to be overly hit snd stuffy though.
Great service, gorgeous scenery. Pool and hot tub were wonderful and relaxing. We did find the room got super hot even with the thermostat at the lowest setting. Room rates are not inexpensive, but that's pretty much the case for all of Lake Louise.
Amazing experience at the Spa with Liz and Moriah! Best massage ever... THANK YOU!
Looking forward to booking again
Over priced and under delivered. No tea or coffee facility in our $458.00 per night room - we had to go down the hall for a paper cup only available during certain hours. No ironing facility in our room, we had to phone in for one. Noisy from other rooms. Honestly, the most disappointing stay.
Excellent service and amenities with perfect location for a fairy tale getaway!
What a gem of a hotel in Banff National Park! It is peaceful and serene, civilized and relaxed. The food is top notch; the spa is luxurious; the staff is friendly and fun. Pull up a lawn chair and listen to the sounds of the river rushing by, unwind, breathe.
We had such an amazing time at this hotel! We were completely surprised at the genuine hospitality of the staff and how beautiful and clean the room was. They are incredibly friendly and courteous, and really made an effort to make our stay as great as possible. Having come here as a surprise for my birthday, the front staff double checked that the room was at its highest quality upon us checking in and said they were "checking a light bulb" in the room so that everything was as it should be. Not to mention they treated us with a complimentary bottle of wine! This hotel made such a great impression we are absolutely going to be staying here again!
The staff are super friendly and helpful. Nice hotel but it is over priced for what you receive, The beds are ridiculously hard.
Very nice, clean rooms. Polite and professional staff. Food is excellent.
We had stayed at the Chateau Lake Louise several times and we had been planning to stay at the Post for awhile, given all the good reviews. It was awesome. The place has a rustic mountain lodge feel to it. One thing I liked about it compared to the Chateau is the smaller, more intimate scale of it. The staff are terrific friendly and helpful. Check in and out was completely painless.
We ate dinner and breakfast in the dining room which was terrific (reviewed separately). We also made use of the pool/spa in the evening and had it to ourselves. We went to the Outpost pub for a beverage after our trip to the pool. It was busy and energetic. Nice atmosphere and great service.
We stayed in a G Deluxe Room because we wanted the king bed. We also stayed on the quieter side of the hotel because I m sensitive to noise when I m trying to sleep. It was very quiet. The beds were comfortable. Parking is right out front.
We plan to return. Highly recommended.
Wonderful space, food and personnel. Very welcoming. Beautiful views from rooms and dining.
Great service, clean rooms and a first class restaurant!
We recently visited the restaurant for a special family dinner. The service was exemplary. The menu was comprehensive. Beautiful seasonal decorations. Iconic Albertan hotel and we will return. Thanks for a memorable dining experience!
Beautiful setting. Every single employee we came across was so ridiculously polite. We wandered in and ended up sitting down for breakfast. Service was wonderful as was the food. Highly recommend.
High end without being stuffy, friendly helpful staff, great restaurant, warm woodsy Swiss chalet vibe
Had an amazing time here. The staff were unbelievably friendly and hospitable. They also gave us a free upgrade to our room and surprised us with a bottle of wine and personalized note because it was my Girlfriend's birthday. Could not get over how good the customer service was. Room was super clean and beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and we're already planning on staying there again.
Amazing food and service. Quality servers and very friendly and courteous.
Food okay. Service level: European (ie. Not that great)
The Post Hotel is one of our favourite places to stay (and the Watson House is especially spectacular at Christmastime). The perfect place to relax and unwind in the Rockies. The cuisine and cocktails are incredible, and we felt well taken care of by the staff who set the bar high for hospitality and service.
Relais Chateau 5 minute drive to Lake Louise Ski resort. The amenities and service are comfortable and professional. On a Friday night the pub can reach capacity and get very busy but the waiting list cycled fast. The Goulash was the best and the fish and chips was delicious enough to save for morning snacks. Didn't get to experience the fine dining restaurant but the brunch service will be well remembered. The shuttle to the ski resort is safe and reliable. The only down fall is that the jacuzzi tub in our room didn't jacuzz but that really didn't bother us because the hot tub, pool, and steam room are fantastic. The area is beautiful and steeped in history.
My wife and I just did a two week trip from Calgary through all the mountain towns up to Jasper. The Post Hotel was our favorite stop, so much so, that we stayed there again on our way back to Calgary. Cannot recommend it enough! And don't miss out on The Pub; best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had.
We manage to visit the Post Hotel every few years (sadly, we wish it was much more frequently) and every time we even more impressed than the last time. This visit we had the dinner special. We each chose different courses and shared. Each course was amazing. I'm just going to say that my first (the seared Ahi Tuna) was one of the most sublime dishes that I have ever tasted. The rest of the meal was ridiculously delicious. You know when you each take a bite and look across at each other and just watch each others eyes open in joy? That's what it was like. The service was as it always is, friendly, discreet, and perfectly timed. After dinner we retired to our cozy, private cabin on the Pipestone River and lit a roaring fire in the stone fireplace while we enjoyed the rest of the bottle of Tattinger Champagne that we found in the cabin as we arrived (with a lovely welcome card). There were milk and homemade cookies on the bedside. I'm not kidding. In the morning a gorgeous breakfast tray with a wonderful selection of muffins, croissants, toast and Salmon with capers was brought to our cabin with of course, coffee, tea and fresh squeezed orange juice. We sat in the sunlight beside the river and enjoyed every sip and bite. At least once in your life you should experience The Post Hotel. It's just that special. I always tell people that when you are there you feel like a celebrity. You will understand the minute you walk through the doors. It's absolutely magic.
Went here for lunch. I remembered a great pub in the basement, but could not find it again and ended up in the "dining room". It was very nice and proper; the food was very good. A bit less than I expected, especially for the prices. The service was impeccable -- no fault there.
The hotel is definitely charming, it highlights its style. The rooms are first class, have a balcony and fireplace. The attention since arrival was exceptional. I recommend visiting the restaurant. Definitely a good place to stay if you aim to get to know Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and in general Banff National Park.
A wonderful hotel. The staff is very nice and caring. The property is very well maintained and has a sublime setting.
Iconic stay at the Post. We have been visiting for years. Love the friendly staff, comfy beds with fluffy comforters and amazing mountain views. There are various room types so call hotel directly if you are looking for a special room.
The service you will receive here is absolutely outstanding. They have a fire boy that comes to refresh your fireplace every day. Coffee and tea delivered to your room is free. My new wife and I were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room since we were on our honeymoon. The Post Hotel has character, excellent staff, and 5 star service.
This is a review of the restaurant. I stayed across the street at the Lake Louise Inn.
It's not cheap, and a bit more formal than I'm used to, but the food was *exceptionally* delicious, with excellent attentive service. Considering the quality of the food & service it was actually a very good value; around $120/person including tip for our group. I had cream of celery soup, caribou with spaetzle, with blackberry crumble for dessert. I endorse it all.
My wife and I as well as our two university-age daughters had dinner at The Post Hotel fine dining restaurant last week. The ambiance was great as usual. The service was well above average; the waiters engaged in conversation and were an absolute pleasure. The meals we had, however, were mixed in quality. The steak that two of us had was terrific. It was the accompanying vegetables that in each case left much to be desired. The problem was that they were each over-salted. The spinach, the beans, as well as the vegetable that accompanied the scallops each were significantly more salty than our palates could enjoy. I can never understand why a kitchen would do this and take the choice of salt level out of the hands of the diner.
This is the perfect mountain get away! Beautiful mountain views, right along the river minutes from amazing hiking and skiing. Delightful staff, outstanding food and wine. This is a must visit!!
Nice hotel and close to the walk to Lake Louise is good
GF and I had reservations for dinner here and the service was amazing! Door service, didn't even know that existed! The restaurant was elegant and rustic. Expect to pay premium price for your dinner. Food was delicious!
Luxury beyond description. Huge room, great amenities, fantastic service. I'd like to move in!
A wonderful place to stay while you hosted my friends wedding. When we needed something staff were there to help. Thank you.
Checked in with excellent service. The property is nice, but a bit dated. The rooms art the same but charming. We then had dinner and everything changed to 5 stars across the board. Amazing service, very good food, and outstanding wine pairing. Unfortunately, since the rooms are so dated, I cannot give more than 4 stars overall.
I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at the Post with my family, but I know it's at least a dozen. Every single experience has been fantastic. The staff is amazingly hospitable - to the point that we hold the Post as our highest standard with which to compare other hotels. We come once or twice a year, and every long term staff member remembers us by first name.
The rooms are extremely cozy - reminiscent of a rustic cabin out of a homemaking magazine. I'm not sure about every room, but all the rooms we've stayed in have had a fireplace which makes for some warm and relaxing evenings after a full day of skiing. The beds are extremely comfortable and, around dinner time, housekeeping comes around with a "turn down service" where the beds are prepared for sleeping, complete with a bedside water bottle and a chocolate atop the pillow. When we stay for New Year's celebrations, we are greeted by a bottle of champagne on the table.
The Post also has a very cute library (complete with games, books, and a bar), a nice pool area (including a hot tub and a steam room), a fitness room, and a fantastic spa.
The food at the Post is on another level. Whether it's at the Outpost Pub or in the dining room, nobody in my family had ever been disappointed by their meal. The portions are just the right size and some of the dishes are a little bit inspired by Japanese cuisine, as the head chef spent a few years working in a high end restaurant in Japan. Also - THE BUNS. The complimentary buns received with dinner are absolutely delicious - my brother and I look forward to these buns for the entire year between visits.
The location of the Post is extremely convenient - it's about a five minute walk from the Lake Louise Village strip mall where you can find a grocery store (and any personal supplies you may have forgotten), a few VERY good cafes to grab breakfast for the road on your way out, and a nice sports store for all your ski, snowboard, and general winter needs. There's also a complimentary shuttle that runs between the hotel and the ski hill, and if you're planning on returning at a time other than the preschedules ones, you can arrange it with the shuttle driver.
Spa was amazing. My massage therapist Rizzo was perfect highly recommend her for deep tissue.
Amazing hotel with exceptional service! We feel like family when we come here. Amazing attention to detail. Great foot in the restaurant and an incredible and extensive wine list! We return year after year!!
Superb service and food. Top notch place and great wine selection also.
I really like the atmosphere, very cozy and cottage like yet upscale. There is a restaurant and pub onsite. The restaurant was nice, with a decent vegetarian selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the robe, slippers, turn down service and afternoon tea. A short walk to the plaza. A short drive to Lake Louise. The room was nice with a balcony and a large jetted tub. We also enjoyed the salt water pool and hot tub. There are spa services onsite as well. I hope to come again!
So romantic .
I will be going back
Great staff
Made us feel special .
Thank you. :)
Boring dull service that seemed like they were on auto pilot. Omelette with no toast? A single strawberry, piece of pineapple and one tiny grape with it? OK. Their head chef came out onto dining floor, he seemed like he should take care of his physical appearance, it seemed like he should be working at some diner instead.
Very beautiful location and the staff was very helpful with any problems we may have had.
Very nice small Lodge within walking distance to a nice pastry and sandwich shop. Dining was 5 star.
Gorgeous. Everyone had their hand out for tips even if they just brought you spoon. Awful little tourist trap of a town. So many buses.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The architecture is very nice. Good location near the mall and a short hike to Lake Louise. The heating controls did not work that well in our room (vintage 1960's controls) and couch in our room was somewhat dated. Bed was comfortable.
Has held it's status as a go to location in Lake Louise for a stellar meal with quality service.
The Post Hotel is fantastic. The rooms are rustic with a real wood fireplace. The spa is also wonderful. The location has jaw dropping scenery and is close to both Lake Louise and Lake Moraine.
Amazing dining experience. My Favorite fine dining place ever!
For the third time at the Posthotel in Lake Louise! Among other things, the best bison filet I have ever eaten! The best grade for kitchen and staff!
