Stayed for two nights. Clean renovated rooms, though old - no fan in the washrooms. Location is okay - not super close to touristy downtown area, but within walking distance. Price for parking is a bit steep.

The good: first and foremost, the staff is fantastic. The location is great, within walking distance of all kinds of fun, and there are tons with great views.

The nitpicks: hotel showers suck and this over is no exception. The water pressure is abysmal. You'd expect that. The beds, however... were quite uncomfortable, rock hard inconsistent mattresses, squishy pillows and a blanket that seemed like an afterthought.

I talked to other guests, and opinions on the shower varied. Opinions on the beds did not.

The rooms are really small. I'm here for a convention and the hotel people keep changing rules and agreements. Not a good hotel for conventions. The restaurants are great though and its easy to get to. I just wish my convention was not at this hotel.

A wonderful reception and assistance
From Danielle (hope I spelled correctly) at the front desk. She went well above and beyond to take time and give us information on the area. I said as I went to my room that this was without a doubt the best service I have experienced at a Marriott or any hotel.
I try to stay and use Marriott
Now onward...
My room TV and my Bonvoy room information stated that Elite members enjoy access to the M Club on the 3rd floor. (Have picture from TV).
Ok great! When I went to the M Club this morning my name was nowhere to be found and my room card didn t work. The host at the stand said the card is the correct color (I guess they are color coded a certain way).
However it didn t work. Embarrassing to say the least that it appeared I was trying to get access to something I shouldn t.
When I checked with front desk tonight I am told it is for platinum members (I am gold).
Well that s fine but i certainty shouldn t have a message on my room TV ( personalized in my name) that Elite members have access to this.

A fun experience. Same old Marriott. Great veiw of the water front. Basic service and what you would expect a hotel to have. Older fancier building. The south water front Marriott on moody and meed is definitely my favorite in Portland. Same service just a little more of a hidden Oasis and business feel. Over all standard experience with no complaints.

Great location. Nice whiskey bar with local beers on tap. Very nice concierge room with breakfast, automatic Starbucks coffee machine, water, drinks, snacks. Nice fitness center. Great food. Modern updated rooms.

I attended a conference here, and the staff were kind and helpful, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was positive. The wifi was somewhat spotty, but otherwise I was happy with the experience

Attended the Oregonian Top Workplaces Award Banquet and everything was lovely. The food was decent. There could have been a few more bar areas set up to accommodate the crowd. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room is nice. Was supposed to get a King bed and complementary Internet with my corporate reservation. Instead I have a room with two double beds and $13 a day Internet access. Most cheaper hotels manage free WiFi this is simply gouging. $30 a day for parking not fun either.

Stayed here for one night and it was great!

Bronwyn (sorry if I misspelled your name) checked us in. She was amazing. It was my friend's birthday and she gave us a $50 credit to our account so we could buy drinks. Hands down the best check-in I've experienced at a hotel.

The room is tastefully decorated. We didn't have a view of the water but, the view of Portland was great. There was a fridge but, no microwave. The door to the bathroom was strange. It was frosted glass, not the best design choice in my opinion.

There is a lounge, bar, and cafe here. You can have food and drink delivered to your room. Just beware, there is a $5 charge every time something is delivered to your room. There is no charge if you pick up your order from the front desk.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience. This place is upscale but the location was perfect. I would stay here again.

The location is nice, next to waterfront park. The staff were very friendly and updated our room to a room with balcony for free. The restaurant on the first floor was surprisingly good. If you want to park somewhere cheaper, there is #62 lot right across the street and you can walk to the parking garage through a door on the 3rd floor of the hotel.

Great view and location. Close to shops and restaurants within walking distance of down town. We enjoyed walking along the river directly across the street from the hotel up to Ankeny Street. Great view of Mt. Hood from our room on the 10th floor. Nice and large club level with a good variety of breakfast items and sweet treats in the evening. Love the purified refilable water bottles. Staff were all helpful and nice.

I attended the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront for a conference, and my review will revolve around that specific experience. Parking is expensive and difficult like all downtown Portland hotels. Fortunately, there are many surrounding lots that offer a much more affordable option. The layout of the conference area we were at was definitely one of the strangest I have been to yet. There is not a lot of mingling/networking in the main area, yet it still works. The staff and food were as expected from a good hotel. The facilities were clean and appeared managed well.

The staff here at the Marriott are so passive aggressive and fake. The service was just horrible as my room was dirty, there was hair in the bed, old food on the desk and Kleenex on the floor which is so disturbing and disgusting. I will never return to this hotel. When I showed the guest services manager they shrugged it off and told me they will just clean the room one time for me like it was my problem and fault. The M Club Lounge is very boring, and the food was below average and not fresh. It's not worth the upgrade and price as the lounge has limited hours that are not convenient for guests. At the end of my stay I also had additional charges on my credit card when I asked the guest services employee James what they were he couldn't explain and he refused to remove these additional charges. I didn't even bother arguing with him as he was being extremely rude and giving off a lot of attitude. I was running late for my business meeting as check out took forever so I didn't have the time to deal with it. I've never been to a hotel establishment where the staff just do what they want and don't care about their guests experience and treat you poorly. Plus the valet parking is ridiculously expensive considering there is parking directly behind the hotel which is much cheaper. When I stayed in town, there was an event taking place and I noticed valet staff were sneakily parking guests vehicles outside on the free street parking, and they were selling parking to the public so they were overbooking parking spots, so your vehicle is not in a secured lot at all times either. There is no priority or care for their guests, seems like the profits are more important to the Marriott. Also be careful at night, there is quite a bit of crime after 7pm. I'll be staying at The Nines next time I'm on a business trip in Portland.

Stayed for three nights. Very poor :covered in bites of some kinda big... ,stains on sheets, hair in the drain, and the hotel was swarming with cops which put me on edge. Didn t feel like a hotel at all it felt like a cop headquarters.

The integration with the app was pretty cool. We could check in, check out, use the phone as a room key, and we could use our own Netflix account on their tv. The restaurant had one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had, and they were very accommodating to our needs for our feather free bedding requirements. Views were ok, the rooms were a bit smallish, but we were there visiting family anyway, so who cares. The beds were comfortable though there pillows were a bit to soft for my liking.

Nice place, great concierge lounge, nice personalities if staff. The room I have us next and behind the elevator, I have never heard an elevator. It's a strange shape of the room...but its cool.

From the moment we walked in they exceeded my expectations. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine. They updated our room to a waterfront view. The room was relaxing and clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff always made sure we were taken care of. Everything was amazing. I will definitely ask to stay in our exact room if I ever visit Portland again.

Side note:
The attached restaurant was not to my liking. Service was less than stellar.

We absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights while visiting Portland. Location was great, and easy to get to. There were lots of great restaurants writing walking distance that we checked out, plus lots of shopping. Parking was expensive but that s pretty normal when staying in the city. Overall, we d love to stay there again.

Staying with another couple who got us a great rate. Very clean. Flavor infused over cold water in the lobby. Nice large gym with cable machines and free weights. Great waterfront downtown location. Would love to be able to stay regularly.

Never saw a guest room. Went for a meeting heald in a conference room. Decent lighting, bad chairs - pretty standard. Service i cant comment on. I never tried to find an employee and those i passed never spoke. I did get coffee from their little bistro - decent. Bathrooms clean. Pretty much what i expect, nothing outstanding.

Construction starts early ,don't expect to sleep in. Kitchen stove and dishwasher don't work right or at all in my unit. Hidden 40$ a night parking fee . Booked a 2 bedroom for 4 adults an was given a kids bed size an was not to comfortable but had worse. Very low toilets almost child size .clean looking bathrooms and kitchen did come with plates ect. Elevator out of hand sanitizer for days.

Not what I would expect from a 4 stare hotel an do not suggest at 200$ a night plus parking when surrounding hotels are much cheaper and would probably be a nicer stay

The hotel and the people there are very nice. It's very close to interesting places. It was my first time in Portland and I really enjoy the services, my room, and the snacks area in the Living room. It is an ATM inside the Hotel, that's very convenient. My only bad experience was when I found trash inside a drawer.

Great hotel, awesome staff and prompt room service. They have a policy to plant a tree or get 500 reward points for "going green", which was super cool. Great conference spaces and catering.

Aaron and Javain are absolutely remarkable! Helped me even when I didn t think I needed help, went the extra mile, and they really have the definition great service! Thanks Aaron and Javain!

does not have free wifi for floors 3 and above. costs 12.95 per day for those which considering the price of the hotel per night is a very bad thing. in addition to that the internet for floors 3+ is slow and faulty, barely working. staff is helpful, relocated us to a better view, offered to send technician to check connection. but at that cost it wasn't worth it, better to find another hotel. free large 24 hr jacuzi (shared), gym and swimming pool. no included breakfast (and again no free good wifi floors 3+).

We have enjoyed our time at the Marriott, the bed was very comfortable, a plus in my book! Meals & drinks at the hotel a bit spendy but not unexpected. Within walking/train distance of lots of things to do.

Great staff that went out of their way to keep guests comfortable... amazing atmosphere...full eating establishment and bar... really. I couldn't find the right words to describe this pleasantly wonderful stay.

As another reviewer stated: Pool in pictures is long gone. Can't find a way to get Google to correct that.

Went for a convention. It's nice but unless I needed to be in this particular hotel (ie convention) I'd stay elsewhere.

The rooms are nice and clean. My major complaint is the bathroom door. I don't understand who made the design choice to have a door that doesn't lock and sits an inch away from the wall. Wouldn't be an issue if I wasn't sharing a room with friends, I don't really feel comfortable using the bathroom when I can't lock the door and everyone in the room can hear me. Really poor decision on the hotel's part.

This property is very close to a few nice parks, the waterfront, and some event venues but ultimately falls short. Their cleanliness and staff attitudes have not been great. I have surmised after two disappointing visits that management was to blame. Typically I enjoy Marriott properties because they are consistent in most major metro areas but there are better properties in downtown Portland for the price.

Desk clerks were not as helpful as they could have been when I needed to change rooms because of noise. Then again, the location is great and the refreshments in the lobby at check-in were nice. Check-in was quick and efficient, but make sure you don't get a room with a door to an adjoining room. There is no sound insulation. No swimming pool.

Beautiful views. Clean, nice hotel like all the Marriotts we've visited. Less stars for service though. For what if costs to stay there, I felt ignored by the staff at times.

We didn't realized you needed to call to have your car brought out before check out; I don't remember being told we needed to do this at any point until we actually needed to go. We get to the valet and they say it'll be a 20 minute wait...seemed like a long time to bring a car around but ok I wasn't going to complain, we didn't call ahead so I didn't want them to skip us ahead over someone else. It took over an hour for someone to bring our car out. I'm not even sure how that's possible other than they just didn't care we were waiting out there until we start to get upset.

If I had to do it again; I'd park near by at a pay-to-park lot. It would have been cheaper then the valet and we wouldn't have been trapped there
