I bought this device about 3-4 years ago and never needed it until now. Apps that worked on my iPhone 3 back then doesn't work anymore on my iPhone 6, not to mention the iOS versions has jumped significantly. I thought i was screwed and had to buy another device. Lo and behold they had a customer service popup that was actually manned by a real person, not a bot! Never the less i am very pleased and found an app that will diagnose my problems. Thank you PLX!

Backed Kickstarter project for kiwi4. Product and support was horrible. So I left a review of the product on their web page so customers that were unaware of the kickstarter campaign could be warned. Two months later I find out they have changed the reviews of the 5 negative 1 star reviews of the product to 5 stars and deleted the customer comments and filled them in with canned responses directly contradicting what the customer originally said. Worse ethics I've ever seen from a company. Will lie and cheat to make a dollar. Posting a review where they can't change it. Go look at the their kiwi 4 campaign on kickstarter... You will understand why they can't be trusted.
I've bought several PLX Multi-gauge modules running on two DM-6 gauges. I love the entire system. Really cleans up the interior and looks great. I've have had several compliments on my gauge setup. I'm running the AFR, Fluid Temp, and Fluid Pressure module and I'll soon add the intake temp module. Technical support has been outstanding. I highly recommend!
Bought an EGT Sensor module and kit. From the FIRST moment it was installed it was obvious there was a problem. After many emails it was confirmed the sensor was faulty on arrival.

"Right. It looks like a fault with an internal wire of the sensor. For us, we do not service or do any repair with the actual sensors. Only the modules. But with the tests you have done it does not indicate an issue with the sensor module. "
I bought a complete kit from them, but because they don`t actually manufacture the sensors they refuse to replace something that arrived faulty in their kit.
Phenomenal products with excellent tech support. I bought a Kiwi 3, an OBDII reader. I plugged it in at it was completely bricked. I called their tech support and they helped me with troubleshooting there and then. Professional and courteous and knowledgeable staff. The problem was fixed with a simple upgrade to my firmware. Unit has been working great.
This company blows! They have absolutely NO concept of customer service. They out right tell lies and once they get your money, your just an annoyance to be ignored. If you buy anything from this company, then you get what you deserve, you have been warned.
Ordered a device in June 2015. Returned it because they sent the wrong one. Received a RMA number for the returned item. Now 3 months have passed and NO CREDIT to my account. I have been emailing calling and nothing resolved. Now they don't answer!!
bought an AFR gauge, module, and sensor from them. hooked it all up and found out the gauge didnt work right out of the box. i contacted their customer service people and after about 20 emails or more, they said to ship it in (on my dime). so i did. they sent it back to me after about a month with no updates on my device. it gets back to me, and still doesnt work. its supposed to be top of the line, but their customer service is AWFUL, and i just need a wideband. dealing with this company has been awful.
Have a PLX SM-AFR, Fluid Temp and Fluid Pressure senders. Was wasy to install, and daisy chain. Had an issue with the LCD screen on DM-6 going blank. Tech support was extremely quick on the response and a quick reboot of the screen and boom...all better. Thanks PLX! Oh integrates with megasquirt easily too.
These guys are frauds. I bought a bluetooth AFR+SM-PRO+oil-temp sensors (more or less 500$) and it simply works whenever it wants. Most of the times you cannot connect the bluetooth with your phone. Sometimes it freezes and you have to restart both car and mobile device. I have sent twice inquires to support center without any response. obviously because they don't know how to fix this. Google App have not been updated for years now, even though customers are complaining. On top of that when i complained in their facebook page for all the above the blocked me and erased my comments.
I bought the Kiwi 3 and I love it!! My dad has a few difference devices that he's had a for a little while now. My check engine light came on randomly one day and he told me to go get the Kiwi 3 out of his car and download the Torque app, so I did and asked him how much the Kiwi 3 was. He said around $100 and so I bought one later that day! I got it in the mail about a week later and I absolutely LOVE it!! I use it all the time!! My boyfriend is thinking about getting one now for work and personal use!
I purchased a DM-100 OBDII, as well as a DM-6. I was pleased with both products, but had an issue with the DM-100 when I tried to upload to it, which resulted in some of the parameters not reading. I went to the website and sent in a support ticket, and received an immediate response. I had some questions that I thought would be easier to ask over the phone, so I gave them a call. I was immediately transferred to the gentleman that answered my email, so he already knew my situation. He spent quite a bit of time with my on the phone, on two occasions, helping troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get the issue sorted, so they sent me an RA since it was still under warranty and sent out a replacement.
For me, the mark of a good company is good customer service, and PLX has excellent customer service. They were very professional and friendly on the phone, and very thorough with their emails, making sure I had all the information possible to try and troubleshoot the issue.
Sometimes things malfunction, it's life. No one, nor anything is perfect. I think PLX has an excellent product, and excellent customer service to go along with it. I would definitely recommend PLX Devices to anyone.
I love PLX Devices products. From their wideband oxygen sensor UEGO controller to their OBD interfaces, PLX is innovative and most importantly delivers amazing customer service. I opened up a support ticket from their website about my UEGO box. They responded to my question quickly and told me how to replace my narrowband sensor with their wideband controller. I also called their phone number for some follow up questions and loe and behold an actual person picked up the phone and they didn't sound like they're from India! A clearly spoken man with clear english helped me with my DM-6 setup. Rockin' Man..! Long story short, 5 Star company, with 5 star products, and 6 star support.
I just received my Kickstarter reward for the Kiwi 4 OBD scanner. I'm impressed with the quality of staff this company has and their professionalism. I have been messaging my I have not receive my reward yet and 100% of the time I get a fast and reliable response. I will back another project by PLX anytime and I will now consider buying their Legion Solar clean energy system for my home.
I had good experiences with PLX prior, but recently I had an issue with my kiwi3 and I cannot get anyone to speak to me or help me with fixing it. I've tried their support email system, phone calls, and Facebook messages with no response. I'm highly disappointed because I like their products. Ive resisted posting a negative review for two months hoping I could get this resolved, but this is my last resort for communicating with them. Hopefully they see this and realize they have a huge problem with customer service
Great products! I bought the Kiwi 3 OBD adapter and worked well with my brother's phone, but not mine. This problem quickly had a fix and now it works really well with any phones, it's fast, easy and so convenient!
This is a really ridiculous company. Since I became a becker of the Kiwi App that they announced it will be delivered by Jun 2017 and they postponed by end of Sep 2017, but still keep quiet. Actually, It is a retrofit app not the new software. After they took all funds from beckers of the kickstarter , they are ignoring users of Android. When can I use it? this year, or next year?
I originally purchased the Kiwi 2 for my rio after iv had issues with other obd2 plugs not working properly at times. So far, I'm pleased with the product and also like the idea of the new dm6 gauges along with modules.
my goal at the end is to control and tune my ecu (obd2) with it and allow me to use ms driod.
Other plugside have not allowed me to use ms driod.
I recently bought a Kiwi 3 and had some questions with the device. I called their main customer service line and I was surprised that an actual person picked up the phone. No robots, no diverted calls. The gentlemen was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Then directed me to their website where it has detailed instructional videos to help me with my setup. Apparently, they invested in some quality videos and it helps me get on my way.
The buck didn't stop there, they also went the extra mile to set me up in their consumer service system should I have any questions in the future. My experience with PLX Devices is that this is a top grade company. Their staff is friendly, highly educated, professional and courteous. They train their staff well and they have a level of standard that is not common in this day and age.

I have two SM-AFRs, and, after getting no TX output signal out from one of them, I was merely browsing the PLX web site for documentation, when a tech support guy named Jack opened a pop-up window, and asked whether there was anything he could help me with. Within the next couple of hours, Jack walked me through on how to test and debug the device in order to locate the faulty component. I am, and have for years been quite happy with one of my SM-AFRs, and will now be sending the other one for a repair.
I have worked in IT/electronics for a couple of decades, and have dealt with at least a hundred cases requiring (HW and/or SW) tech support. The usual pattern is that you wait on the phone for half an hour, then describe the issue to someone who knows very little if anything about the technology, get your call transferred at least once to someone else who is supposed to know something, just to end up with worthless comments/advice on the level of 'Is your power cord connected? or 'Re-install your operating system'.
With PLX, however, the tech support agent Jack obviously knew the device I needed help with (SM-AFR) inside and out, and was able AND willing to guide me through all the steps needed to pin-point the defective component. As a person who has experienced all kinds of customer and tech support, ranging from utter garbage to quite helpful, I am simply flabbergasted by the amount of time and effort PLX / Jack were willing to contribute in finding a solution to my problem.
Nice devices and work well when operational but that's where the good news ends.
Unfortunately if you're in another country or can't go to their office in person, there is no after sales service. They won't honor their own Warranty should you have a genuine Warranty issue. They just don't respond, I'm not the only one because I've spoken with other (ex) PLX clients from around the world that have experienced the exact same behaviour. And if they do happen to accidentally to contact you, when they realize it's a genuine warranty issue, they will say anything to end the conversation and that will be the last you hear from them.
They seem to like their customers supporting them with their Kickstarter projects but they don't seem to like to support the same customers when we need help. That's my experience anyway......poor form PLX! If you're an international customer YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I backed a project from PLX Devices on Kickstarter. The Kiwi 3 campaign for an automotive scanner. When I received it, I had some questions regarding the functionality and connecting it to my iPhone. Went on the website, called their tech support number and I was greeted by a warm, knowledgeable gentleman who helped me get my Kiwi connected. My experience was more than positive as they seem to genuinely care about my questions and issues. I will be buying more products from them soon and definitely be considering PLX Devices products for my Christmas shopping.
I purchased the Kiwi 3 OBD2 so that i can use this at home and at work. I am a technical trainer and i am always looking for new ways of diagnosing different vehicles. This device just works, no problems connecting or communicating with the vehicle with a Samsung Galaxy S7. This device was recommended to me and has worked without fault since purchase.

This is a review for tech support. I have a SM-AFR device that sat on the shelf for over a year. When I finally installed it, it worked fine for about 2 weeks and then I was getting very odd readings. Despite it being out of warranty, they were quick and responsive to emails. Through their troubleshooting, I found the problem... a bad ground. I relocated it and all is well.
I purchased a Kiwi 3 with some difficulty connecting to my iPhone. I phoned them in and their staff was helpful in setting up my app by walking me though the settings one step at a time. Their patience and attention to detail as well as the courtesy I received was impressive. Great service and support. Thank you.
I ordered the KIWI 3, took it out of the box and inserted it into my OBD plug. It connected fine and I drove around a few minutes to test it out. Turned off my app and left it plugged in. 30 minutes later I tried to reconnect my app and it would not connect. I went to unplug it from my car and it was really hot and no lights were on. The next day I tried to plug it into a different car and I got no lights. I shipped it back got an RMA and asked them to cover my shipping costs to get the clearly defective device back to them (I Know it s only $7.15) but why should I have to pay extra for their defect? I already paid once for shipping. PLX please do the right thing RMA# 111706.

I don't know what this guy is talking about in this other review, I bought a Kiwi Wifi and had trouble connecting to my iPhone, I was close to there main office so I stopped by. They were very very helpful they even came out to my car and showed me what I was doing wrong. All I can say is the TEAM at PLX Devices ROCK!
First off, I wanted to tell you how pleased I am with the product line PLX has put out for the automotive enthusiast.. and am a proud owner of there SM-AFR with the DM-6 display. I recently had my car broke into and they took everything. So I contacted them and told them my story and they were so happy to be able to help me out and honer me a new one. I cant tell you how nice that is of them. I will not order any other engine sensors but PLX and am more then happy to give them my business and send business there way...
