Notcutts pet and Garden centre has everything you need...from Gardening to starting off having small pets like Rabbits Rats Fish Budgies Canaries finches that they also sell on site. Next door is the PJ Outdoors Camping Centre. Plenty Parking to Discover both!
A fair range of tents and accessories but the price tags were all over the place. Different price stickers to what's on the shelf or no price at all. One Item had no less than 3 different prices. The staff really should take some time to check through the Isles and update price stickers.
Good selection for a few different types of camping. Prices reasonable when you need something at short notice.
Lots of tents outside for you to look at, and display tents can be bought at a discounted price.
This company is a joke, really bad customer service.
We brought a Outwell tent from this company at the NEC Birmingham, it finally got delivered a few months later.
Its should a large tent that we didn't get to test it before we put it up to use it.
We got the tent up but in the middle of the night the bedding area of the tent collapsed on us, we have 3 very small children so this was very upsetting for them.
The tent was not fit to sleep in and we had to cut our 3 night stay down to 1 and lost more money on the pitch.
My husband has been emailing this company for weeks now and sent the photos of the tent in the state it was in when it collapsed only to be told they would send us a replacement beam.
Again we had to keep chasing this beam up and everytime we asked to speak to a manger we got fobbed off.
This tent is not fit for purpose and they refuse to discount this tent or take it back for a refund.
I am now in the process of getting Trading standards inform as this company have a careless attitude towards the whole situation.
Avoid this company for your our safety.

Please before you buy from them be aware that if you have any problems with the item/items you are going to have in my opinion the most disgusting customer service you will ever receive and may incur months of stress just as we did.
We ended up going on holiday with a faulty tent to find even more faults.
Customer service are two words that should not be related to this company.
They are rude, unhelpful, lie saying that they are sorting the problem just to gain more time and obviously do not understand anything about consumer rights.
In short it took nearly 3 months to get a refund after having no choice other than to contact consumer rights for advice, it became apparent that they had broken the consumer credit act more than once with my purchase.
Fortunately i paid by credit card and was advised to use them to now deal with the situation.
They tried calling my bluff by refusing to refund me and said that they were also seeking advice..............within a week of my credit card company getting in touch with them i had a call offering a full refund.
If you are going to purchase from them please know your consumer rights first!!!!!

2 weeks ago I brought back my Outwell EcoCool that i bought from the NEC in Birmingham (If you like camping. I'd recommend going) they replaced the product there and then under the manufacturers guarantee.
Totally kitted ourselves out for camping from this shop. Knowledgeable friendly staff very patient with us!

We bought our Croyde 6 tent from PJ just over a year ago. The service was top notch and the advice they gave in tent selection was spot-on.
When I recently broke a fibre glass pole by accident, PJ quickly arranged a replacement and had it sent directly to me at no cost as a goodwill gesture.
This is a company who really understand customer service and stock great quality products at highly-competitive prices.

Not impressed with the customer care of this company. Took our deposit and left the tent up in the field after telling us they would pack it down ready for when we could collect it. When we went to get it, it was half deflated, filthy, full of water and the GP had traipsed around in it for 10 days. They were fully aware we couldn't get it til then and so we got our deposit back and are disappointed that we have no tent.
The best customer service I have ever experienced. I highy recommend you buy from PJ Outdoors with complete confidence. A+++++

Excellent service, a number of their staff went out of their way to source a Kampa awning in time for us to go way this week. Eventually arranging for it to be shipped from Kampa direct. Gary was particularly helpful and friendly. On top of that they honoured the price quoted at the NEC show some weeks ago. Won't hesitate to use again.

I m really impressed with the customer service I have received. I ordered a tent and a few accessories at Birmingham NEC and despite encountering a few problems (missing/faulty items) Sam and his colleagues have sorted it all out for me by sending the missing items and sending replacements for the faulty part. Although at first I was understandably a bit annoyed, I am happy with the level of commitment to ensuring my order was present and correct in the end! Thank you!

This is a very good camping shop, well worth a visit, lots of decent stuff for fitting out family tents or temporarily using in back of van. Prices are fair, good stuff.

Unbelievable.. we were still waiting for an awning a month after it was promised in two weeks. So we called them and Tracey told us not to be concerned .. a slight altercation followed and Tracey slammed the phone down.She then accidentally called back a few minutes later and slammed the phone down again. Maybe Tracey should work in dispatch rather than a customer facing position as she is not doing the company any favours.. TBF James did call back later and sorted this
Last year I purchased a Zempire Aerodome 3 tent which was absolutely fantastic, unfortunately there was a manufacturing fault with the tent which was not noticeable until we had a heavy storm and had a leak in the tent. so contacted PJOutdoors when I got back from holiday, they immediately contacted the importers. Although there was a delay in communications etc due to holidays etc, I got a replacement tent under warranty the whole process took no longer than a month.
Would definitely use again.

Great store with a vast range of outdoor equipment & accessories. You will be amused or perhaps a little stumped by what some of the items actually are used for. Always good for a browse. Ample street car parking. Used this place for years. All the regular type of gas cartridges or refills available. Recommended and prices are pretty reasonable. If you are trekking to Katmandu or Bognor Regis there will be something here for you!
Just been to look at different types of tents we are interested in to meet our needs. Young lad there was really helpful and incredibly knowledgable. Will definitely be going back to purchase our tent.
We had hoped to view a selection of drive away awnings for our campervan but there's only a few erected on display. There is however a good selection of camping accessories on display!
Had a problem with a tent. Very pleasant to deal with but had to contact the manufacturer direct to get some explanation. Had to contact Pj Outdoors again, emailed them as instructed, received the automated message to advise they will contact you within 2 days. That time has lapsed and they have not replied or contacted me. Contacted the manufacturer direct again who have replied.

I stupidly tried a number of places which were all useless, all in my quest to buy BBQ gas. Walked into here, received some sound advice and walked out a very happy BBQer 5 minutes later. No nonsense, down to earth service. Highly recommended

It's very good camping shop but be advised if you have a buggy it is very tight in the shop. Go out to the tent area though and there is ample space and a good selection.
Very helpful chap named Barry sorted us out with great advice, he always says hello when we popped in and was great as our kids started to run riot through the shop.

We ordered a Quest top of the range canvas tent there. Unfortunately it wasn't on stock despite the description on the website. With extensive actions from James it has been delivered within the said time frame of 4 working days.
A second misfortune arrived as the poles came rusted and some bit were missing, refraining us of setting it up in the garden for a check.
Taken seriously by Lillie of their customer support, everything has been put in order overnight. We have been delivered with a brand new set of poles, along with all the missing parts (pegs are really useful to set it up !!), and the wrong parts being collected at the same time.
From a cold start, it has been wonderfully managed in a very short time.
Thanks to all, we are now geared for our holidays starting tonight !

I have been purchasing from this St. Albans store for a few years now and thought how helpful the staff were in particular a female member who unfortunately doesn't seem to be there anymore I went to purchase an awning and fitted carpet for my mother and the carpet was faulty,we phoned the shop to tell them and they didn't seem to believe us so went to the shop with the carpet , my husband and mother arrived to exchange the item not one member of staff was happy to help and they didn't really talk or make eye contact until they realised that actually yes the carpet wasnt right ,as a customer with an item that's faulty to have to make another trip to a shop out of your way to then be made to feel uncomfortable and to be told by a member of staff they didn't want to be working any longer than they had because we had turned up 5 minutes before their closing time is not very good customer service, they've certainly lost me as a customer I won't be returning
This shop is packed full of weekend requirement. Just topped up my barbecue set for the season.
Terrible company. Avoid at all costs. Never been mucked about so much and felt so insulted before. Attempted to return products in line with their returns policy and they weren t having any of it, made up a whole lot of lies. Correspondence went ignored, complaint not followed up on, accepted returned goods but failed to refund - bank had to initiate a charge back so we could get our refund. Absolutely shocked for what I thought was a respectful and reputable place to shop. Not even worth 1 star!
Great selection of camping equipment and very knowledgeable staff - Andy was extremely helpful, even laying a table so we could test out space before we bought a camping table and stools. We will certainly be shopping there again.
