Attended a wedding at the Marriott - it was a beautiful day, but slightly dated ballroom. The food was good, not great.
It was a great hotel, fantastic beds and the pool was a good size. Didn't have a hot tub though but did have dry sauna's. Would definitely recommend it
Location was perfect for penguins game, rooms were large and clean. Overall service was great.
We had a conference at this hotel and it was a great experience. It may be weird to say but the hotel smelled amazing. It was so clean and all of the conference rooms were great!
Very nice rooms. Spacious, very accommodating staff!
Well maintained and friendly staff. Great location!!
Very conveniently located for events at PPG. Rooms were average size but the bed was great. Staff was very good. They had a nice bar and a Starbucks so that was great as well.
A decent value for downtown Pittsburgh.
Great hotel , great staff, will stay again. Breakfast was awesome too
Service was quick and staff was friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced.
Close to PPG arena awesome wings clean and comfy beds. Hotel staff helpful
I was there for a wedding. The servers were very polite and the food was good.
Great customer service and clean rooms but I would not recommend the restaurant... My sandwich had mold on it.
Great amenities and a convenient location in town where you can access the best that Pittsburgh offers. The staff is professional and is more than willing to go the extra mile in order to accommodate all of your needs. The rooms are excellent with spacious designs and fantastic ambience
Convenient to PPG Paints for Penguins pre game. Fun place for drinks. Very nice and comfortable lobby. Nice staff
This review is a year late but memorable enough that when I was reviewing a recent stay, I remembered that I had wanted to review Pittsburgh Marriott City Center and never did. I stayed there in fall 2019 for the Mid-Atlantic Popular Culture Association Conference. It's great as a conference hotel because it has the space and amenities without being too pricey - usually I stay at a cheaper place when attending conferences. Comfortable, convenient, clean, quiet. There was also a concierge who really helped me a ton - I'm not 100% sure but I think his name was Brad (he was a young, slender guy). I'm legally blind, and so getting around new places is sometimes challenging. I explained my situation and so he went out of his way to find out where I needed to go (the front desk staff didn't always know, especially with some of the more informal events connected to the conference). The conference rooms were perfectly sized and equipped with computers if I remember correctly.
The one downside is that the restaurant did not have many vegetarian options and was a bit pricey. I believe they had a bean burger that was quite good, and the server was very courteous and attentive. There also didn't seem to be too many nearby vegetarian-friendly restaurants, as I remember struggling to find ones that I could walk to, but that is what you get in Downtown Pittsburgh (have to go to surrounding neighborhoods for such places). Probably should have asked for advice but I already felt like I was asking so many questions and did not want to be a bother.
Location is close to one of the train stations and the staff is very friendly however the price is overpriced and the room cleaning was not done well during the stay
Just passed through to get to my office, but seemed very classy and professional.
Stayed here over a weekend, and would like to give a positive review (because the stay was fine), but the valet put a really nice dent in my buddy's Jeep door. The manager who came out to look at the damage took a pic and started filling out a report, but then asked for insurance and registration so that he could go through his insurance. Really? THAT'S your solution? Not at all acceptable.
Hotel was fine, though I was a little disappointed with the size of the bathroom. The other guests on our floor were very disruptive and we were kept awake because we could hear their loud music and conversation through the door that adjoined with their room.
Very nice hotel close to freeways, ppg arena and everything downtown
I don t even want to give this place 1 star..... ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE we booked 5 rooms for a bachelor/bachelorette party and it was 9:00 and got a noise complaint so we turned down the music and went out for the night didn t get back in until 3 AM and we went into our rooms were getting changed for the night to go to bed granted we may have been a little noisey coming in but we tried to be as quiet as possible they came back in to yell at us telling them we had noise complaints all night which isn t possible cause we just walked back in they kicked us out of our rooms and called the cops on us to do so when we were in our rooms for not even 10 mins it was horrible horrible never would recommend
Wonderful staff, restaurant manager and concierge. Was there for ACH conference and they were so great. Lovely also tgat it is across from a park.
There was a little mix up with the cleanliness if my room when I checked in but they fixed it right away. Took very good care of me. The restaurant crave was really good. Very reasonably priced food.
I stay there when i go to football games staff is friendly great restaurant recommend going there
Went for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Beautiful hotel. Employees respectful and very helpful.
We flew into Pittsburgh to see Coldplay live at the Consol Energy right across the street. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly specially Ben A. at the front desk. He was very sweet and welcoming and he got us all set up on Uber and told us where to go for all the good eats around the town! Very pleased with our experience.
Wouldn't stay here my room infested with cockroaches. The GM did absolutely nothing to help. Horrible!
Had breakfast catered at the hotel as well as attended a work meeting. The hotel itself was nice, the biggest thing I didn't like was that the seating they had for the meeting was chairs that connected together closely. It was very uncomfortable to be smashed in between others since you couldn't move the chairs.
We were there for breakfast with Santa. Great service. Good food. Really kind people working
Comfortable, well-appointed hotel in convenient downtown location. If you use the Marriott app, it will let you know if your room is available early (like mine was). Only drawback is that hotel is very crowded and guests can be noisy when events are at the arena down the street.
Food was good. It was quiet but the environment was nice.
Always clean courteous and professional. Great environment close.to.city.amenities. easy access parking, though it is a bit pricey.
Service here is exceptional. The bellman, I believe his name is Rohan, was extremely sweet and attentive. Keep it up!
Lumpy bed, horrible accommodations, okay staff, terrible stay.
Perfect place to stop in lobby before pens game for a drink.
They were very kind, understating and accommodating to me being unfamiliar with the city and requesting to leave my car there past my check out time so that I could venture out. The front desk, bell hop, valet, cleaning staff and bartender were all lovely.
I was just there for the discount ($1 off) parking they offer to those on jury duty.
Nice, clean, and large. Perfect location to the Arena.
Room is old and dated, furniture appears dirty, management doesn't stop noisy and unruly guests who make noise during the late evening / early morning hours.
The place was very clean and all the works were very friend and helpful.
Food is a little pricey, but good. $4 Labatt beers specials for hockey games, and a nice atmosphere.
Our stay was excellent. Easy check in. We ordered breakfast in bed in the morning. The service was on time, hot meal and delicious. Coffee is excellent.
Here we go AGAIN!! Platinum Premier Elite member that has stayed at this hotel frequently and still can t get an upgraded room or even a room on the concierge level. This is ridiculous. Honestly I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting any loyalty rewards because it s not going to happen. They just don t appreciate loyalty. PERIOD!!
I attended a convention at the center, and the space was beautiful, well laid out, and in good rapair. Everything was very clean, and the staff was great.
I walked in and to my right was the bar and restaurant where I was attending an event with friends. The service was well I can say I had better at McDonald's. Very clean and the smell of the food was to die for.
Great location and nice rooms! Parking was expensive and the pool was a little dirty.
This hotel was excellent. It was very clean - looked new. The value was exceptional. Although I used points, the actual nightly rate was very reasonable considering how close to the city and shopping this hotel was. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The amount of shopping around the hotel was incredible.
Recently stayed at the Pittsburgh Marriott to attend a Steelers game. Very convenient to ride the tram to and from the stadium. Hotel was very nice and staff was very friendly.
Staff is fabulous and friendly. Rooms are gorgeous. Hotel is roomy and clean. Wonderful place to stay.
Overall a great experience!
Each and every staff member we spoke with went well above average! Their commitment to listen and then help was outstanding! The front desk check in was smooth with our large group. Kevin A. was awesome! Throughout my stay he was eager to share a smile and genuinely ask to see that our stay was great. Excellent attention to the human element of hospitality. I don't remember the managers name that was there at check in as well, but he too must be mentioned. Great job! I'm all over the country and I must say your staff I delt with were well above average. Thank you for that.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thin walls, Large quality TV, Clean iron and board. Quality shower head, And a comfortable bed.
Great Hotel great location and offered a fantastic price on Priceline
Awesome location a block away from PPG Paints Arena. Very nice staff and large clean rooms. Restaurant had a nice selection of beers and food. Loved the Pittsburgh fries.
We came from Cleveland to visit Pittsburgh for our first time. Great city but our stay at the Marriott was less than expected. Its a good business type hotel. But maybe a little too pricey for families or visitors. We had to pay 22 a night for parking and no free breakfast. I think for the price we paid Marriott could include these in the service in the future.
The hotel is nice and clean but the staff is incompetent. We had the displeasure of staying here because my brother hosted his wedding here. The wedding planner (supplied by the hotel) messed up the booking and booked two rooms for me, my spouse and my father instead of just one. We canceled the extra room since it was unneeded and the original room was complimentary from my brothers package. By Monday (we were there Friday - Sunday) my card was charged over $500, my fathers card was charged and my brothers card was charged for a room that was canceled and another that was complimentary. The best part? The staff told all of us different things. I was told the room was canceled and my card would not be charged. My brother was told that his card was linked to the canceled room just in case they couldn t cancel it. My father received a receipt saying his balance due was $0.00 but was charged later anyway. Someone (or multiple people) in their staff massively dropped the ball. If you book here, do it online and avoid dealing with their massively incompetent staff.
Nice clean place to stay. Very busy and within walking distance to downtown areas
Rooms are clean, free standard WiFi if you are a Marriott rewards member (which is free to sign up) no free Continental breakfast but Starbucks is very close by.
Rooms were well kept, very nice lobby as well. Didn't stay long enough to use the amenities, but the breakfast buffet was delicious!
Centrally located to hockey arena downtown and Duquesne. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Plenty of parking in the garage. You can self park or use valet. Restaurant and Bar we're good as well as the food. Can't stress enough how helpful and pleasant the hotel staff and employees were. Rooms were just a little bit dated but nothing that should prevent you from staying here. Clean.
