Great facility. They really take good care of their animals. Enjoy going to walk the dogs!
Adopted both my boys from here and they are great dogs
The service here and adoption policies and procedures are great so easy
Good place to get a new fur-baby. Adopt, don't shop!
I love it here, I love to see all the animals and they have bunnies too. The staff is friendly and helpful and they get stuff done fast!!!!!!!
Help me with making sure this little puppy my kids found was in good heath and hade sure he didn't have broken legs.thank you very much
It's got to be the prettiest government building that Pima county has now, but I don't think that is necessarily the best thing. I mean there isn't much to say other than it's the pound. Most of the staff that I've had the pleasure meeting are friendly and helpful.
They've done a TON of renovation and added a bunch of facilities for the animals. It's really lovely.
New facility, easy adoption process, Beautiful metal wall mural, helpful & caring staff. A perfect place to find your new fur babies. Pima Animal Care Center thanks you helped us find adorable
Clean, quiet cat adoption center is beautiful. Many open rooms for kitties to relax & play. Small pet supplies store with reasonable prices too. Wonderful adoption experience.
Very friendly and helpful, love my new feline companion
Christina was very helpful. We brought home a beautiful little kitten. Who is guaranteed to be spoiled. Thank you Christina!!!
New facilities are incredible. Much better for the animals.
Went there this morning, day after Thanksgiving. Two of the dogs I was interested in both had "on hold" or "reserved" signs on them. I don't get this. Isn't the purpose of adoption for the animals to go to their new homes right away? What happens when the people placing the holds change their mind? This seems like a waste of time and dogs spending longer time in cages instead of giving them to the people who are there ready to take the dogs home.
My Pitbull was neutered and was taken care of properly . he came out happy to see papa
Beautiful modern facility for taking care of dogs and cats that are up for adoption. I've never seen a cleaner pet center or more Humane setup for pets
The day of my visit was so sad because I had to drop off my pet dog of 10 years. He deceased in my home. The employees that were there, very genuine, understood my sadness. I, also left a $60.00 donation to help support other pets that the facility holds at the center.
I brought in a deceased cat and the women said we r closed come back tomorrow. So I took her name down and told her to take this cat NOW. AND SHE DID AND I REPORTED HER TO AUTHORITIES!!!!
A no kill shelter. Many beautiful dogs for adoption.
They take good care of the animals. Adopt, don't shop.
They were great very attentive and caring with my pet
The place was very clean and very welcoming, everyone I encountered who works there was very friendly and sweet towards animals, the entire process was speedy and pleasant. The open, airy architecture I'm sure helped a lot! I will admit that I was kind of dreading it, but the whole experience was overwhelmingly positive.
Knowledgeable staff who loves and cares for the animals
I got a wonderful baby girl Skye. The kennels were very clean and the people so friendly. They were with me through the process. They were nice and made sure that this was the best dog for me. I loved the experience I had.
My gf works. No kill shelter n she loves working with animals
Really sad seeing the animals but really clean, opens when they said they would be, helpful staff.
Everyone there is very helpful. You can really tell how much they all care about the animals.
Do you guys have a dog named sugar and she is a terrier mix
I adopted Sally , now named Nala. She is so sweet and PACC helped me out alot. Very kind volunteers and staff.
Great, friendly staff... Was a bit of a wait, but considering how busy they were, it was to be expected.
Really like the new facility and the room it gives the animals. A little bit more homey feeling for the animals I hope.
Went today to find out information about a kitten that was originally adopted from them that the owner wasn't able to take care of so I took them in. Everyone was incredibly helpful in pointing me in the direction of who to talk to. However, once I was pointed in the correct direction the person who would be able to help me was incredibly rude and seemed to make it their own point to not help. They first said they couldn't help at all, and then when we told them the name of the person I received the cat from, they said it was my own burden to get in contact until I asked if, since they have that information, they could call them. Seems like this person would rather be a burden than a person that helps animals in need. PACC should rid this person from their ranks, because otherwise they were great.
PACC is run with great management that has a huge heart.
All the dogs. Cats...are clean, healthy and very well attended to.
It seems like a boarding house for abused pitbulls. Sad to see honestly.
Pima..well I was there 2 years ago..I didn't give them
the credit due them..I got
them mixed up with the people I was taking (Romo)
my family member and friend
to. That's why I'll never own
another dog...if he's a family
member and he passes u just
don't go out and get another
one..that's just me. I'ts been
2 years and I still remember.
Anyway Pima was very help
full..they had to put him down
because of his sickness...I
told them not to let me know
when they did so...well may
be l could believe within my
self that he's ok running
around with another family
having fun...they didn't..
Thanks...
We went yesterday and fell in love with one of their dogs. They said we would need to return the next day with our dog to see how they get along. My wife called to make sure she was still available for adoption and they confirmed that she was. So she loaded up our dog and 2 young boys and drove to PACC. After sitting in the hot sun for almost 2 hours, they tell her that the dog we were trying g to adopt was o e of the first dogs adopted today. I'm not a happy person right now, and they're lucky I'm at work.
This Place is a JOKE!!!! STAFF IS VERY RUDE AND HEARTLESS!!! After searching for Our 1yr old bff for a week! We found him at Pacc Only to be told "Oh well he's been adopted out already!!!! 5 day hold on All Animals are made to Deficate and Urinate in cages next to bedding!!! Eventhough there is plenty of volunteers standing around doing absolutely NOTHING!!! IDE BE VERY SAD AND BITE YOU TOO!!!! LADY WORKING WITH US AFTER EXPLAINING OUR SITUATION WAS HEARTLESS AND COULD CARELESS OUR FAMILY IS DEVASTATED AND JUST WANTED TO REUNITE OUR 9YR OLD BOY WITH HIS DOG/BESTIE! OUR BABY GALLIATH( PIVET THEY CALLED HIM A691021) HE BELONGS WITH US NOT A FAMILY WHERE HES GONNA BE MISSING HIS BEST FRIEND!!! I ALREADY CALLED KGUN 9 ON UR SIDE FOR HELP!!!!
Adopted a puppy from here. They made sure to check on him a few weeks after. Then fixed him for free.
Was looking for a dog to adopt. This is a new refurbished facility. Animals looked well cared for and the facility was clean even the tent area.
Have adopted all my pets here, for the most part. I have been blessed with each and every one of them.
Workers are very kind. They work as quick as possible. Animals are well taken cared of!! Highly recommend
Even though this is a kind of sad place to visit, only because if you are like me you just want to save them all, I decided to foster my first baby, and now we will be adopting him, I highly recommend this, because for us and most people, can afford to have a pet, but just can't afford vet bills, this little guy, I spotted on their Facebook page, and when I went to look for him, he was gone, 2 days later I went to buy a small dresser from a couple and when I got there I saw this little guy and I thought he looks just like the one that I wanted to get from the pound and it turns out it was him they were fostering him but weren't sure if they were going to be able to keep him this was on a Friday on Saturday morning I got a text message from the lady saying that they were taking him back we rushed on over there and decided we were going to Foster him to adopt they said he had some medical issues that needed to be tended to, I knew I couldn't afford this then they explain to me that while fostering him they will take care of all his vet needs and Medical Care then once he's cleared I can adopt him so if you are thinking that you want a pet try fostering first It's a Wonderful way to get to know your new pet to see if it matches well with your family and also to get a Healthy Pet.. I'm completely in love with my new baby his name is William but I call him Sir Prince William.. he even loves his little bearded dragon brother.. Thank you so much to pima animal control center, AND THANK YOU TO ALL THAT DONATE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, TO HELP BUILD THERE NEW FACILITIES, THIS PLACE IS NOW MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN EVER, AND SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE AND WARM..
Come to find out if you call animal control they won t pick up cats but will pick up dogs what kind of animal control is that.... strongly disappointed in pima animal control why are you being funded if when you get calls you ignore them?
Adopted a cute 2 year old cat, such a personality! The center itself is so last and interesting, seems well kept too
Very sad to see all the animals but it's very big. Kinda loud but yeah
I love meeting new dogs and there are a lot of good ones. The staff was incredibly helpful and took their time with us giving all information needed when making our decision. Unfortunately the little guy we met was not our match but we will be going back in hopes of being ones forever home.
Lost two dogs so I called 4 times to file a report and all you get is message and no live person. So I decided to go over in person and the care center is all locked up with chains on the walk through gate. There is an electric gate with no way to get in. I did try the entry key pad with no clear instructions on what numbers to enter. I decided to park in an adjacent dirt lot and noticed a few cars were able to get in but the majority of them could not. It appears you need to have a code but where and how do I get one? Confused as to why the care center would do this to the public. Going to the next county board of supervisors meeting to ask questions. This is not right!
Typical lazy county employees. Two vicious dogs have attacked numerous people at 7777 Golflinks Road, multiples reports. Those dogs have bitten adults and children. Animal Control gets called, Animal Control doesn't do one thing. Reports/complaints go unanswered. The only way to get anything done is to make a complaint to the County Administrator's office, which is still slow because they too are county employees, or to go to the media.
One person helping in the adoption area? Why?? All we want is to pick up our dog that we reserved and are adopting, the line is ridiculous. One person at the desk.
If you want or need a fur friend, come see the wonderful people there.
Gorgeous renovated facility! Many many pets to choose from are available for adoption. Lots of wonderful volunteers will help you make a selection of a loving pet that will be a suitable fit for your home and family! I choose a pet almost a little over a year ago there with the help of a great volunteer named "Jo"! My new dog and I go back periodically to check out treats available in the lobby! He choose a new bed there this last visit as well! On my last visit I was saddened to see several cats and dogs that had been found being turned in to the shelter as the finders did not wish to keep them. The good thing is that PACC, though it breaks my heart each time a poor little animal is abandoned, will accept the abandoned animal and place it for adoption for someone to love! Fortunately, the PACC shelter is available and a wonderful resource to the community so that all abandoned or lost pets may have a chance for a new life and loving home! I recommend if you are looking to give a pet a new loving home that you please stop by and see if you might find a little someone to love at the PACC shelter! Please don't rush if you are looking for a particular type of animal as various types come in all the time so just let them know what you are hoping for and be patient and perhaps the specific type you are hoping for will be turn! I will say, however, if anyone has any intentions of harming or neglecting a pet then this is not a place any such person should consider adopting any pet of any kind. I put this disclaimer in here because I come from an area where Michael Vick, famous football player, lived and was caught arrested and went to jail when found guilty for such horrors as animal cruelty. He is now an advocate with and for animals with the Humane Society of the United States and he has been educated about animals. I had a friend that adopted three of his dogs that survived the abuse. These dogs were such wonderful sweet loving dogs that only needed a chance to be given a loving kind home. Many dogs that have survived abuse are also available for adoption at PACC and deserve wonderful loving kind caring homes with people who understand their need to be loved as well. The same for many cats. Elder dogs and cats also are available and least adopted but they need homes! All these wonderful loving animals want, need and deserve great homes with wonderful loving kind caring generous people such as YOU! Is today the day you might consider adopting your new lifetime pet? If so tell them Benji "Pepe" sent you to pick out a new friend because he wants all his shelter pals to be as happy as he is with his new mom! Thank you for reading our review! JLo and Benji
I adopted my baby (Remy) just after St. Patrick's Day 2017. He was "free" due to a promotion, but he's absolutely priceless. I would be completely lost without him and I am so grateful he chose me (from his cage.. He reached out and said "pick me!") He's a long haired ginger kitty and the light of my life
I got my dog Frank 3 years ago from PACC. He was so scared of everything and had a severe case of separation anxiety. Fast forward to today, Frank is still scared of highly populated areas, but has made a complete transformation. He has been allowed to become his friendly, outgoing, playful and athletic self. Without PACC, Frank may never of had that opportunity!
We love our little Chihuahua LucyLoo!!!!
Its sooo amazing the love we receive everyday for saving an abused creature of GOD...
Nice people and nice employees. A little on the expensive side for you Furr baby.
I volunteer as a Foster and they truly care about their fosters and the animals! Love them!
While taking my dog for a walk on a leash and harness she was mauled by my neighbors vicious dog. I called animal control that evening and filed a complaint. I waited a week to call back and get some answers, and I was told the case was closed. I hadn't been interviewed and an officer never spoke to me. I insisted the case be reopened and my statement taken. It's been almost 3 weeks and I have yet to speak with an officer, get a call back, or get an update regarding the incident. I can only hope that leaving this crappy review will shame the office into finally contacting me and maybe doing something about it.
We actually came home with a dog!! He actually picked us out!! I was just standing there and he started licking my fingers! I didn't even see him in there. So, my husband looked at him and said he's coming home with us!! It was AWESOME!!
I love the animals here. I just adopted my dog Benny, and he is the sweetest little guy. My only complaint is that their staff definitely lacks a personal touch. My dog has some health issues, and they didn't dedicate a lot of time to making sure I was informed as a pet parent. I know it is only because they are overwhelmed, but adoptions are what keeps PACC running, and I think they need to invest more resources into their customer service and keeping adopters informed.
The new facility looks great and it is obvious that they are expanding which is wonderful to see. The staff was a bit inattentive when we adopted our kitten (handing her to us and then wandering off, leaving the cage with the remaining kittens in it wide open). Our kitten also came down with kennel cough almost immediately after she came home and they don t test for FELv so be cautious. But otherwise, our kitten is now happy and healthy and the facility is organized and well maintained.
We just adopted a puppy and these employee s and volunteer s try there very best to help
They were wonderful and extremely attentive. Quickly came out and helped me with a pup that I had rescued from a busy intersection.
Yesterday my family had a 1 hour meeting with a beautiful pup named Ace. Pulling into this facility we were amazed. My wife and myself both have volunteered at shelters but this place is without question the most state of the art facility I have witnessed. Jaycee was our guide and was an incredible young man and you can feel his compassion for job. Upon completing our session we adopted a big sweetheart Amstaff terrier who completes our little family. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT PIMA ANIMAL SHELTER!!!
I love going and checking out the cats and dogs here, highly recommend adopting from here
Great & professional. Also has many Covid precautions in place. Highly recommend for pet care.
I was Great! I was dropping off empty Pill Bottles for them to use for the animals when they get hurt for their medicine when they get adopted out.
People should do this to help out more Seriously.
Then I inside to buy a purple harness for my pur-girl cat. Their harnesses are better for what I need.
Please visit and adopt they more than cats n dogs there are bunnies inside plus more..
Thanks
Nice facilities but information about the dogs is not on the website or signs on the kennels. We looked at a lot of dogs, then met with a counselor who told the backstory and found that they all had aggression issues. Have to make appointments due to COVID-19.
So upset at my experience here. Found a dog that proved he was a hard worker and willing to work out his shyness. But a volunteer said because I have a big family it's not a good fit and proceeded to ask people their opinion and try to shame me for thinking I could help the dog. Not going back.
My mother let me pick out a cat from PACC on 2/06/13. I almost did not get the cat because she seemed too shy and scared, but just as I was about to tell my mom nevermind, the cat looked me in the eye and brushed up against my face. I fell in love with her in that second and knew that she was meant to be mine; I named her Marla. I picked her up the next day because she had to be spayed, they informed me that she would not be feeling well for a few days. 5 days after we brought her home she was still not feeling well, so we brought her to a vet. The vet informed my mother that Marla had not been properly tested for cat diseases but they were almost certain she had leukemia; they told us to go back to PACC to see if they would pay for the test. PACC told my mother that it was our fault for not asking if Marla had been tested, and that we would have to pay for it, but they were almost certain that she had leukemia as well. I had to put my cat down less than a week from even getting her. They have offered me a refund or a 'credit' on a new cat, but I just wanted Marla. It was wrong what they did, and I would recommend going to the Humane Society.
This is a great top notch facility with wonderful resources and staff. I m a member of the foster team. I foster neonatal kittens. The foster coordinator, Rosio, is an amazing woman. She responds to text messages and phone calls 24/7. Weekends at 3 am. Why am I calling her at 3 am? Good question. I had a very sick kitten, okay? Rosio and the rest of the staff are all saints. highly recommend.
I called to donate a dog crate and some blankets. They were so helpful over the phone, confirming they could use these items. When I arrived, they met me just outside the door and thanked me for the donations! It looks like a very neat, clean, and well run facility.
This is the best place for you to get a new friend or drop somebody off that you can no longer keep. They are a NO KILL PLACE. And will always be open so you can bring home a new friend. I got my baby boy from this place nine years ago and have never been more happy that I found a new member of our family. If your looking for a love or friend with four legs go here. The BEST Animals Shelter in Tucson. There are full of Love waiting for you to Love back.
Wonderful place! Many programs & a Wonderful place to adopt a Forever Pet, New Family member Many Pets have been saved by PACC! Truly worthy place to make Donations to!!!
Clean, friendly and organized. I appreciate how helpful everyone was and how compassionate and kind the staff was in my situation.
So exciting the first phase of the building will be completed in December. Doing all they can to save the savable
Great people that do the best they can for dogs. Got my pupcake Mr.Piggles from there 2 yrs ago. He's such a good boy!!
From the phone call all the way until I got my pet back all employees were wonderful great experience clean place amazing place . Thank You
They are nice people, but misguided. Not every animal can or should be saved and adopted out. They have given me 2 dogs. 1 that was dog aggressive and the other that was uncontrollable on a leash. In neither case did they tell me about this beforehand. That is just wrong. Buyer beware.
I adopted my dog from PACC. They usually have promotions for discounted adoption fees. Go find your forever friend today. They have cats if you're into that kind of thing.
We are attempting to bring a stray dog to the shelter and their gates are closed and we can't talk to anyone live. I guess next time I won't bother helping a stray pet. It's so frustrating that they care so little.
Love visiting pacc, the counter in the clinic is left unattended with large amounts of pills sitting out, I was left in waiting room for 30 minutes, no one even checked on me and they left tens of bottles of pills out on the counter for anyone to take in a see through bag. It s the best animal care center!
Location on Silverbell road.
