They have really made it nice. They really need adopters and Fosters. I am fostering the sweetest dog and hoping for a loving furever loving home for her. She is a senior and will make a lovely companion for a senior. Her name is Finix #A230955

This facility is clean. And the animals are clean and cared for. Pacc is ran by volunteers so not everyone is going to be a pro here but they are offering thier time to the animals not to your customers service when you go please keep this in mind. My experience here has been great and the volunteers have helped us when we needed. Thank you to the community of individuals who help at this location your making a difference.

Absolutely pathetic we came here today thinking we might adopt a puppy and then we get here gates closed locked up the walk in gate is chained and locked they won't even let a couple in to let them surrender two stray dogs definitely one of the worst experiences that I have had with pacc

We adopted our senior dog from PACC. He was a gentle soul who brought us much happiness. Through no fault of his own, his owners had surrendered him to PACC. We understand that the staff, vets, and volunteers at PACC are working in less than ideal circumstances. But the animals that are there are the most in need. If you are looking to make a difference, this is the place to find your furrever friend. We are grateful we found ours here.

It's a confusing process to meet the dogs but they are very good about letting you know why a dog would be or would not be a good fit for your home. Facility is very clean and well kept. They care about the animals which is so good to see. I enjoyed my interactions with the staff and Iove my furbaby! We love our "red dot dog" blitzen aka blitz! <3

UPDATE: Be aware of licence fees and dates! We moved here in mid October and I dutifully came in to purchase our dog license. I paid $64 for our un-neutered dog. What they DIDN'T tell me was the licence was only good until January and I would have to pay another $65 at that time. They back-dated his license to the date of his last rabies vaccination in January. and didn't bother to tell me. Had I known this was the case, I would have waited until we visited the vet (a few weeks later) and updated his vaccine. I'm basically out $64 and frustrated with the staff and their poor communication.

Original post: Beautiful place with lots of services. The person who helped me was nice but they need more staff. The wait was unnecessarily long.

Honestly, this place was amazing when I first saw it. But I have realized they do not fully care about the animals they shelter. I adopted a cat last year from PACC, Tibbs - A one-eyed twelve year old cat. After asking, I was informed that he had no medical issues besides his missing eye. I fell instantly in love with this old baby and had to take him home. Two days after I took him home I realized he had an ear infection in both ears. Took him to the vet, found out he had SEVERE gingivitis and it was going to be about a $5,000 procedure. Tried to activate the "free 1 month vet insurance" provided with the adoption... Didn't work. Attempted to call them... No live person you can talk to. Emailed them a total of 8 TIMES!... NO RESPONSE! Later this year we discovered that he had 3 tumors that were in his head. These tumors were in his body during the time he was at PACC but they were not noted or helped in anyway! The gingivitis was noted however, but they decided NOT to treat it and push the 5,000 dollar bill on the loving person who adopted this poor little cat. Tibbs was also extremely malnourished since he could not eat due to his painful gums and teeth. However, PACC continued to feed him hard food for the 5 months while he was at their facility! As soon as I took him home he gained 3lbs that he desperately needed from eating wet food! Lastly, from the vets I had talked to, tibbs was actually more along the lines of 19 years old! There's a big difference between 12 and 18 or 19 years! I think they maybe lying about the age of their pets! And the sad ending to this story is that I had to put tibbs down this month due to the two tumors in his throat . It killed me inside since he was the sweetest, most amazing cat that I have ever adopted. Stay away unless you want huge vet fees, no support, and no honesty!

Amazing facilities! Clean pens and cages. Kind and helpful volunteers. Sadly with all their great work. There are plenty of amazing animals that need homes here. So, if you're looking for a great pet. Come here instead of going to a pet store.

Animal Shelter is challenged right now due to COVID protocols but the workers and volunteers there are doing the best they can. When it is time to get a pet make sure you check the shelter to help some animal find love. We have a new family friend now. :-)

The impression I got from the people at Pima Animal Care Center is that they are not only very professional but also have big hearts, I needed my non moving aching from arthritis old dog to be put to sleep right away, even though they made me wait a couple of minutes, all the veterinarian places I called (many) not only wanted to charge at least 100$ to just euthanize some way more and you keep the dog, all where by appointment and do not take your pet right away some of these take days or several hours at least to see your pet. I am very grateful to the staff at Pima Animal Care Center they took consideration to my situation thanks.

Have visited here a couple of times over the past two weeks. So many great things happening here! If you have a heart for animal rescue and feel you may want to share some of your time, talents or treasury to further Animal Rescue, please contact PACC and see how you may want to serve

Their on-site vet service is terrible, so be vigilant about your pet's health if you're adopting here. They sent me home with a cat that had been exposed to ringworm without providing me any information on it. I tried everything I could to prevent my other cat and myself from getting it, but living in a small one bedroom apartment, this was tough and eventually me and my other cat did get infected. They should really have informed me about it and spent time making sure it would be a good fit. The vet should have known better than to say that cat was ready for adoption rather than putting it in a foster home with someone who is willing to work with it. It's unlikely someone with other pets or kids would adopt a cat with even a chance of it having ringworm.

I'm a foster there, staff is friendly and truly care about the animals there. They do the best they can to get as many of them adopted out and not put to sleep. I love being a foster for PACC. The new facility is wonderful and clean. I'm so happy that the animals and staff have a bigger and better place now. Here is a picture of the last kittens I fostered.

This place is terrible. They don't screen potential adopters well and talk mad crap about anyone who has to return a dog. The dog NEEDS to be able to come back; sometimes you won't know if it's a good fit until you get them home, and if it's not, then it needs to be able to be brought back without recourse. They also have people go out in the public as "secret agents" to find people who happen to be rehoming dogs they got from PACC so that they can stroke their egos when they get them on the do not adopt list. There are better shelters to adopt from with people who don't push and pressure someone to adopt, even if it's not a good match.

Adopted a wonderful 4 year old cat, Luna, from this facility. I made an appointment online to visit her and made sure to refresh the page periodically on the day of the appointment to see if she was still there. Picked her up the next day since she needed to be spayed still. They even updated her shots which was great! Definitely coming back if we ever have the room to add another furry family member.

Be very very careful if you have lost a pet. The staff can not identify dog breeds at all. Our purebred Belgian shepherd (malinois) escaped the yard and was running around our own property. Multiple neighbors saw a PACC deputy come onto our property and pick her up, they never came to the door to tell us, they just removed our family dog from our property. After they left our neighbors knocked and told us. We immediately called PACC and the number to report a missing pet directed us to a voicemail box that was full. It took 14 calls to finally talk with a person and then they had no record of collecting her. We spoke to everyone and they said she was not there even though we knew the exact time she was collected.

Finally we went to PACC and searched everywhere, but she was not there. We were panicking when a friendly volunteer said we could check the sick quarantine area (why their staff hadn t thought of that?) and there she was! Our purebred healthy tan Belgian Shepherd FEMALE was labeled as a ridgeback mix MALE and placed with the chronically sick dogs? By then the clerk had left and we were told we d have to come back the next day to check her out. We were livid, our sweet girl spent the night shaking, and panicking surrounded by sick dogs.

We arrived the next morning when PACC opened and had to pay to finally bring her home. The level of incompetence from PACC staff is outrageous!!!

Poor/Fair? Really? I do believe that the brain donors who fart into the well-worn chairs of this county money pit have earned an even lower score than google will allow. How difficult is it to acknowledge a taxpayer's presence when I walk in? It took nearly half an hour before anyone could manage a very snotty, "I'll be RIGHT with you." I couldn't help but think, "Don't over-tax your abilities." In order to prevent stray felines from entering my pet's doggie door, and wrecking my new carpet, I have to trap them and transport them to this clown academy. I think I'll fashion my own score for this place. Unprofessional/Useless covers every experience I've had at the Pima Animal Control. The receptionist needs retraining and a lesson in professional, age-appropriate attire/hair color. Purple! Really? Let me refer to my new google button...Unprofessional/Useless! click click click click click click

Horrible STAFF very rude. They told me to come in on a day they were closed drove all the way there wasted my time and gas. I came in the next day and they had me wait for 45 min said i was next knew i was waiting than told me they were closed and couldn't see the dog. So why would i adopt a dog where they waste your time and money and dont care to help the dogs find a forever home no wonder why people would rather buy dogs than adopt

There are tons of adorable animals here that you can either adopt or foster and their fostering program is great at providing you with everything you could possibly need to take care of these babies.

The volunteers are nice and helpfull and caring for the animals, but it seems that most the paid staff (especially one woman) are rude unhelpful and not caring for the animals.
They probably hate their jobs.
It appears that the cats are drugged because most of them are lethargic .
