Piedmont Medical Center Review

After all the good things I had heard about the women's center. I'm truly disappointed and angry. If I ever have another child it absolutely will not be at piedmont. Poor care, my husband had to take me to the restroom and my father and friend had to bathe me following my c section. They never told me about a "moon pillow" to hold against my c section incision which caused pain on several occasions (sneezing/coughing). It was actually a sweet nurse in the nicu who brought me one while I was visiting my daughter in the nicu after I had been discharged. She was surprised they had not educated and offered me a moon pillow. I had issues asking for pain medication. Trying to space it out so I wouldn't be in as much pain while breastfeeding but the nurse double scanned and I wasn't able to get my pain medicine for several hours. She incorrectly scanned and did not inform the new shift. A few of the nurses and the anesthesiologist's bedside manner are lacking to say the least. I had delayed skin to skin and breastfeeding. The same night my daughter was taken to the nicu for not being able to regulate her body temperature and blood sugar. (Hmm things skin to skin helps with) I also did not get to see the lactation consultant until day 3. My insurance pays for 4 days following a c section. After 3 days they tried to kick me out telling me my insurance won't cover. I got on the phone with my insurance and had to prove to them I am covered. Then the nurse came back to say that "oh well really we just need the bed. There are several people on delivery that have already delivered and we need the room." Now to top the cake, Karen in registration told me they do a prompt pay discount if I paid the entire bill at once. She said to wait for the bills to come in. I call them to see what they can do and I'm informed they no longer offer prompt pay and they will email her and tell her she is giving wrong information. This is absolutely unacceptable care and too many issues to let go. I've been in contact with several people and unfortunately I think this is being brushed under the rug. I will however not stop until Bill Masterton is aware of this atrocious stay. I will also tell everyone I know to stay away from piedmont.

My mother was admitted through the ER on Monday. Er doc said heart attack. Two cardiologists said heart attack. Third doctor said no heart problem at all! Still there on Thursday. Food has been awful. Last night she got cold mashed potatoes and carrots and a mashed meat circle. Today, asked for salad, got glob of mayonnaise with no salad. Asked for Irish potato, got sweet potato with sour cream. Asked for banana, was told no, that was too many carbs. She needs potassium, but they won't give it to her. None of her regular daily meds are being given. We begged for eye drops for glaucoma and finally got those. The first night, there were no CNAs on the floor and only two nurses for 7 intensive care patients. The cabinet in her room had two patient bags with dirty shoes and clothing. It stank of shoes and cigarette smoke. I asked for it to be cleaned. A nurse sprayed a little air freshener. Four days later, we still can't open the door to that cabinet. One nurse had greasy hair and needed a bath. The commode sits open in the room. There's no shower anywhere on the floor and no offer to help her bathe in the bed. It was a "private room" with a glass wall, so there wasn't any privacy. Unbelievable. No wonder people go to Pineville.

I had to wait 4 hours before being seen by a doctor. let alone getting medicine for my pain which turns out it was kidney stones. I stayed for about 3days nursing staff were very nice though

Took a covid 19 test and they didn't even put a phone number to reach me at for results. How stupid is this hospital.

Kat in LnD was amazing she made sure the mother of my child was well taken care of along with Dr Allinger and nurse Mindy In the women s tower! They showed great patience and professionalism. Only reason I didn t give 5 stars was because 1 nurse in LnD wasn t so great or helpful. If a woman is in labor you HELP her not make her do everything herself! Thank goodness Kat showed up she is awesome even with a broken foot!

Went to the Piedmont ER on Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill. WONDERFUL STAFF from the front desk to the nurse Tech's, nurses and doctor. Extremely professional, compassionate, thorough. The best ER that I have EVER experienced! Wish I could give them 100 stars!!!!!

Later, went back to the main ER: NOT good! Awful ER.... Rude staff... Needlessly cut up a new, special order, shirt. Refused to replace. Items were stolen from my room. Some good nurses. One was obnoxious. Discharged to rehabs from hell. Security refuses to follow-up about stolen items. Dr. Singer is a great surgeon. Gr3at lab workers. The main hospital needs better management! Administration doesn't return complaint calls...

Terrible customer service and crude bedside manner. Long wait times and staff who are under trained. Patients are interrupted while trying to sleep. Uncomfortable and depressing patient rooms with few amenities.

I had my son on Oct 21 2016. For medical reasons he had to stay a month in the NICU. We had an excellent experience and were impressed with all most all the staff. Thank you..Jennifer Crabtree

Let me say idk why I went back to this hospital, o I guess it was because I have strained something in my back and in pain. the doctor gives me a steroid shot, and a shot of dilaudid for pain waited 20 minutes told them I was still hurting as if I hadn't had anything for pain I was told the government wouldn't let them do any more, if it's true then the government should stay out of the hospitals business? letting someone leave the hospital still in pain is just unethical. Will not go back unless I'm unconscious. It is a sad day when a doctor can't even help you with your pain, the doctor wasn't even listening to what I was saying anyway he was telling me what I was saying like he has an his own agenda to go by no matter what the patient says. and thay can kma. I'm adding this 12/1/17 And I forget to add that I left there went to cmc found out that I had 2 bulging disc I was given xray some pain meds and a 3 day script for pain after 3 days I was good to go!!! Cmc

Most of the reviews on here sound very much like my experience with this hospital, which a one star is too high of a rating for this place. It needs a complete overhaul. If you do have a decent experience it is few and far between. I wonder how many of these complaints have been truly addressed, because if they have then that would institute a change, which is not evident. My husband may now have to have his foot amputated because this place did not treat him in a timely manner. While we were in the ER they had 3 code blues within 2 hours. First one died. I just wonder if it was because they were not being treated. It is sad that you have to travel out of your county to receive proper treatment.

No reason to have a hospital in rock hill. They are horrible! 1 star is too much! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! They should tear this place down!

Though never a pleasant experience to get your chest cracked open, I would like to commend the Cardiac Surgery team headed by Doctors Barry Chan and Peter Zakow. They handled my recent quadruple by-pass surgery with the professionalism, courtesy, and bedside manner that I have seldom found when dealing with previous operations. The P.A.'s on the team explained everything in detail and to the level that both myself and my family could appreciate and understand. I could not have asked for better or more understanding ICU nurses while being in their care for the first several days after surgery. As most people know, this is the most painful and scariest time, and their attention to me on a personal level can not be overstated.
Doctor Chan and his team have definitely upgraded and improved the Cardiac services offered by Piedmont Medical Center, and I recommend their service if the need ever arises.

wasnt very pleased on how they treated my husband for the flu.

My wife just left the ER with pain in her upper right side gallbladder area and a fever. The experience she had was terrible. They ran tests one test says she is packed full of gallstones next test said nothing so Dr Chidubem Orazulike came to her after hours waiting and over a year of dealing with this issue until it got unbearable abruptly sent her home.

That Doctor treated her like an addict there begging for pain pills not a patient needing help. Never even offered her a Tylenol. When he abruptly sent her home he didn't give a chance to ask anything at all turned his back walked away. This treatment is unacceptable and I will be filing a complaint.

There should never be doctors hardly able to speak understandable English and zero bedside manner allowed to see patience when they are at there weakest and most scared points. My wife left that place in tears and in pain with no resolution and more scared and confused then when she went in. I could go on but I will save the rest for my complaint.

My 84 year old dad was in Piedmont Medical Center. He has dementia, a fractured hip, he did not have his hearing aids. He was approached by a therapist who questioned whether or not he wanted therapy. He did not want the therapist near him or to hurt him. As a result, the therapist stated to my dad's insurance company that he was unwilling to participate in therapy. As a result, my dad's insurance will not cover his future costs for rehab. I questioned the case worker, she was able to grant another therapist visit. I warned her that he is not capable to make a decision regarding therapy (or simple decisions), however, there were the same results. It is really a shame that this hospital allows their staff to knowingly report a false decision that will cost my dad about $230/day going forward as opposed to allow his insurance to pay for 20 days of rehab. It makes me wonder if the cold hearted employees receive bonus for saving the insurance companies money. I never thought i would see the day where hospital patients do not have the support of the hospital staff. I was warned by many Rock Hill residents to keep away from that hospital because bad things can happen. I did not heed the warnings of the Rock Hill residents. I hope the readers will read the reviews and keep their distance

It's a terrible place has bad service they are very slow

On Nov 9, 2020 per request of our family provider to take my husband to the ER, he has been having chest pain, heavy chest and breathing pale and gray skin color. Has history of heart disease. Told to sit in the waiting room for 2 hours. What a way to treat cardiac patient. Will never go back. I will file a formal complaint with hospital.

I had wonderful care at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill: the service,care and treatment was superb! Piedmont Medical( under the guidance of their new CEO) has been recruiting top doctors from Charlotte.I had an emergency that truly needed immediate treatment. my doctor, Dr. Barry Chan, actually drove to the radiologist office and reviewed my MRI; he ordered an additional scan that he needed. After reviewing the CT scan he immediately contacted me and started treatment(which was an emergency situation).The care and treatment was truly over the top.I live in Charlotte and the treatment at Piedmont Medical was fantastic.From the receptionist to nursing staff my care was incredible professional: I can't say enough about the nurses that took care of me.I highly recommend Dr. Barry Chan, Piedmont Medical and their staff...their timely care and treatment truly saved my life-THANK YOU!!! Overcharged us by $258 for an ultrasound. Never again!

We have used them in the past and were VERY happy with their maternity care unit. VERY good nursing staff and great spacious rooms to have a baby. It saddens me to have to give a 1 star review essentially wiping out the hard work of all those people, but overcharging for ANY service by 300 percent is unacceptable and borderline fraudulent.

If you go here...be sure to SHOP AROUND. I didn't, trusting previous good service and prices and it cost me a significant sum.

My mother was in ER, used the call button fir the nurse when she was in extreme pain. Nurse said she d be there soon. Took 35 minutes; meanwhile, my mother was suffering a heart attack and was left alone.

I have had both of my children in the woman's center and had a wonderful experience both times! Nurses are always so sweet and helpful. Both my girls had to stay in the NICU due to the fact they were early. The nurses in the NICU are so amazing and encouraging breastfeeding! I am pregnant with my third child and look forward to delivering in this hospital.

My husband is there for surgery and they decided to keep him. The nurse yesterday day shift was so awesome, however at night the nurse was inattentive to him. We were told he should not throw up and when he did I buzzed the nurse I had to buzz her twice. As I looked out the door she was at the nurses station drinking water and fixing her hair. When she FINALLY came to the room (20 minutes later) she acted like I hate it here and who cares you threw up. Sure hope he can come home soon, these folks make me nervous! How can you have a screen in the room showing best care hospital when your staff does not care!

I was having abdominal pain and extreme chest pain they gave me a motrin and sent me home worst hospital in America!!!

We were in one of the small room but with one exception the nursing staff could not have been better. Loved Becca, Holly, Amy. Only down side was food service. Cafe was fine but in rooms late and cold.

Happy with our experience.

Piedmont ER is absolutely the worst. The staff is probably the best part. It took entirely to long to be seen here. I've waited 6hrs plus in here. This ER is ran very poorly from the top and they dont care because it's the only hospital here. This hospital would not last in a larger city with competition. I will take my chances with another ER next time. The only reason for the 1 star is because that's the only way I could actually post.

This is the nastiest place I have ever been. Dirt everywhere, trash on floor, toilet broken, bugs crawling around, equipment looks like it has never been cleaned.

If you are sick, DO NOT GO TO PIEDMONT.

Piedmont is the worst hospital ever the staff is very nasty and they denied my services because they said I come over there too much and when I called over there to complain they hung the phone up on me. They should tear Piedmont down because the workers there don't care about the patients and the doctors don't care either. If it was the other way around they would want somebody to care for them. Smh y'all should be ashamed of yourselves

Really enjoyed my experience in the emergency room despite them being busy. The nurses were sweet and the registration staff was great.

My wife had an exceptionally professional expierence with Doctor Schroeder the nurses and staff. However, when she was put in her room after the surgery, my opinion of the hospital dropped like a rock. The hospital needs to implement visiting hours, and a noise level limit. We heard what sounded like a Sunday revival going on, children screaming at 2:00 a.m. because they were tired. I believe people need to have their family around, but not to the point where it is disturbing other patients. It was not an isolated incident. This went on for a couple of days. Whoever the charge nurses were needs some lessons on ward control.
The other thing I saw which has nothing to do with the hospital is all the sick bay commando's. If they are sick, fair enough. Everyone-I mean everyone who is there to see a doctor, needs to have a penicillin shot, and a rectal exam. This would clear up the punks running around listening to their music and not working. Absolutely ludicrus. No wonder medical costs are off the scale.

The doctors here in the emergency room are a joke.. Dr Handler sent me home after giving me one 4 minute breathing treatment while I m in the middle of an asthma attack...he said you sound fine when even the nurse said she could hear me wheezing by just standing by me I kept telling him my chest still felt tight and it was hard to
Breathe he just basically said well there s nothing else we can do for you here I know there s plenty he s could ve done cause I m here often with my asthma and they ve done more than he did smh I wish we had another hospital in this city!!!

My mother recently was a patient on the 4th floor observation unit at PMC for 10 days. She received very good nursing care, and the staff treated her and our family members with respect, with the exception of one nurse. A special thank you to Gail, Marlene, Hope, and Rosemarie for their patience and kindness during a trying time for my family.
Lee, the case manager, worked diligently to get my mother placed at Health South to ensure she received the best rehab services, for which we are so thankful!

The ER is terrible. Run tests and tell you nothing... takes 5 hours for nothing. Also expect people to leave their kids in the main waiting room unsupervised because they wont let them mask up and go anywhere in the hospital

I'm writing this review while I'm sitting here...I have been here for 3hours and they have done everything but treat me... I have seen people come in and go straight to the back which I understand but at what point do I become a priority...They asked me how bad was the pain I said a 10 and they have let me sit in pain now for 4 hours and no one cares...I have seen people that was waiting just like me go before me and they came after me... No one even asked how are you doing seeing how I'm in pain... I'm about to leave now and just go to CMC Pineville...

I was admitted to Piedmont for a week. I was on the pacu floor. All my nurses were excellent and my doctor Jessica Holt went the extra mile to get my diagnosis. Thank you to the staff at Piedmont.

My boyfriend was in a car accident and was brought here by the emt. When I was able to go to his room no one was in there. His head was bleeding profusely and when I hit the call button a nurse came in with an attitude and said that we didn't need to keep pushing the buttons. After that no one came in. I had to clean the blood off of him and find gauze myself because nobody even acted like they cared. He was thirsty and wanted water so again he pressed the nurse assistance button and someone came running in screaming that we are not supposed to push any buttons and no he could not have any water. I have to say that this is the worst hospital I've ever been to and if you are wanting to die then come here. We will never go back. CMC is where we'll be going. Horrible experience!!!!

Several weeks ago I went to the ER with severe gut pains. I've had a history of ovarian cysts but hadn't had one in a while. I just wanted to make sure that the pain wasnt anything more than that and my appendix wasnt exploding or anything. I got there close to around midnight. It took two hours to have an ultrasound and confirm that it was indeed a cyst. After I was satisfied with that I was told to wait in a room where I sat for an additional FIVE + HOURS. They stabbed me in both arms to draw blood and for an IV. I insisted I didnt want an IV. They took a pregnancy test but if they had just asked me I would have assured them there was no possible way that I was pregnant unless I was the next virgin Mary or something. No pain medication was given for the hours that I was doubled over and in tears. I finally begged to be sent home and they said I could go and they would send me a follow up based on the bloodwork.

I received no follow up. I was hit with a bill a month later for 7,000. Charging me for the IV, the blood and pregnancy tests (that I didnt ask for) along for a whopping 2000 charge for being able to sit in that room unattended for 7 or 8 hours. I only asked for the ultrasound so I could confirm it was a cyst. Trying to work this situation with billing but I wish I could give this place less than 1 star.

The docs are ok but the nurses man the nurses are amazing i didnt see one single nurse that wasnt absolutely beautiful i walked in and looked around and the pain went away almost instantly not only are the beautiful they actually care 5 of 5 stars for the nurses 2 stars for the docs

Horrible staff and facility. I believe the only positive comments are from staff or their family members. Piedmont writes that they want to learn more or investigate further for all the negative reviews. I highly doubt theyll do anything further other than their comment

Yeah Piedmont sent me to collection agency all because they were not satisfied for the thing that I only can send them I can only afford 5 to $10 a month. Yeah now they said they don't want to work with me I'm on disability I have Asperger's syndrome and they are not working to work with me my medicare to pay $10,000 two years ago for them and now many months later do you rest meat and I got something in the mail from them and he said this payment is not acceptable they want more but I can't afford more I have bills to let alone I need to eat and plus I pay rent and I'm living with my parents and my brother and I'm going to be 35 years old this summer they said they can't help me that's ridiculous I just don't want to help me or anyone money is tight. With my dad's in the hospital they don't care I wish I should have gone to Pineville in the first place when I needed to go to the hospital at least they work with you did they work with my dad and my mom when they had that surgery in Pineville.v

This hospital is awful. My son was sent from his pediatrician for an ultrasound my sons private area was completely swollen. The doctor refused the ultrasound and was very rude putting his hands up in my face refusing to do more testing on my son. They don't care about anyone this my second time leaving that hospital over being careless with my children. Pineville always treats us with respect and concern unlike this hospital I don't see how there still open

We had an outstanding experience here! The staff was professional and compassionate. Labor and delivery nurses were awesome as well as postpartum. Anesthesiology was right on time and very "down-to-earth". I have nothing but positive things to say about this hospital. Piedmont has so much to offer. I'd recommend this facility to my loved ones.

If you have an emergency and you have any options at all other than this place, choose the other option. The emergency care is awful. Understaffed, and disorganized. And, if you have a question about your bill or insurance claim, good luck.

I HATE this hospital, we have been here for 2 hours and have not been checked on one time. A nurse from the nurses station was continuously on a personal cell phone and only entered the room to say A doctor will want to look at that, but I won t unbandage it until then; so you don t bleed everywhere We are well aware that it needs to be looked at, that s why we are here obviously. All that needs to be done is stitches for a severe cut, but nothing has been done.

Friday evening my seven year old fell while running down a hill, fracturing his collarbone. Within five minutes of walking in they had his vitals and an order for xrays. Within 30 minutes we were in imaging waiting room being cared for by an awesome LPN Christy and Nurse Practitioner David. Within an hour we had xrays, pain meds had been administered, and Christy even brought sandwiches and juice for our son, who was hungry and thirsty since his fall happened as he was being called in to dinner. David kept us updated on what the xrays said, and when the fracture was worse than they thought they immediately called in an orthopedist who drove in to review his films.

Within 3.5 hours we knew what was going on, had a referral for first thing this morning for an orthopedist, had our prescriptions ready to fill, and we were discharged and sent on our way. Nurse Christy was awesome, kind, and compassionate with a hurting, scared seven year old, and with me, his pregnant, anxious, worried mom. NP David was kind, competent, and very reassuring. Everyone with the exception of one xray tech seemed genuinely concerned about my child and to understand how scared and how much pain he was in. The one tech may have just been having a bad day. I feel very comfortable with using Piedmont ER again should anyone in our household need emergency care.

Went to Piedmont with metal shavings in my eye. I waited in waiting room for 4.5 hours. I asked nurse how much longer would it be she told me she didnt know. I had let her know that my vision was getting worse. I waited another 1.5 and still wasnt called back. I left and went to Steele Creek in Charlotte. Due to the urgency of removing metal my eye had formed a rust ring due to the metal being in my eye. If Piedmont would have treated it promptly the rust would not have formed. I will be skipping Piedmont and heading straight to Steele Creek for any medical emergencies

These employees at piedmont will cost you your life because they don't know what they are doing so therefore that hospital should be shutdown because my grandma went there to piedmont hospital last Saturday she had pneumonia so then they didn't let her take her sugar medicine for day's then they was giving her sugar shots so yeah that place needs to be shutdown. People like that needs to be taught better than that.

DON'T COME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM IF ITS AN EMERGENCY. They will give you the worst possible treatment available I promise you. If you're in serious pain GO ELSEWHERE. AN AMBULANCE IS YOUR BEST BET. This place was filled with the laziest people alive and most likely recent college grads. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. PLEASE. IF YOU'RE IN ACTUAL PAIN THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION THE DRIVE TO CMC IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT. YOULL ABSOLUTELY WASTE YOU'RE TIME HERE AND WASTE IT YOU WILL. AVOID THIS DANGEROUS PLACE.
Worst treatment possible and the laziest nurses I've ever seen; it was basically a break room and in the emergency area no less. Absolutely will never return even if my life depended on it. NEVER AGAIN.

Why is this the only place we can go????
This is the worst place my child cant breath and is having major chest pain and we have been waiting for 2 hour really the worst before this is the 3rd time coming here since we moved here im the nurses dont listen to you about your child i soooo hate this is the only place here.

I had brought my wife to the E.R. and they got her a bed somewhat quick. But after that good god.
They just started doing stuff and not really explaining anything and the staff seemed to care more about talking to one another than working! Too many people and not enough workers.

Took my son to the ER here for a caffeine pill accidental overdose (he didn't understand the doseage). The nurse came in to the room and said that she was going to start a Morphine IV I asked why and she said isn't he in a lot of pain. I said no he took to many caffeine pills. She said she would check with the Doctor. The Doctor came in shortly after and laughed and said sorry I ordered that morphine for the wrong room. SERIOUSLY YOU THINK THATS FUNNY!!! What would happen in my kid was allergic or the parent didn't know better to ask why!!! This is NOT okay. Should have warning signs to question everything they tell you, give you or do for you. I would not let them put a bandaid on me.

My son was taken by ambulance to the ER here at 4am Monday morning after passing out from being dehydrated from a virus he had gotten. I should've took him some where else! Once we got there he was put into a very dirty room, then was given one bag of fluids but once it ran out it stayed like that for at least 45mins. Then my son started vomiting all over his self and the floor, I called for help but no one cared until I got very mad but then we had put up with the very rude nurse because she was asked to do her job! He never seen a Dr until they did their shift change at 7am,then it was only once but at least she got another bag of fluids going. I could give alot more reasons why we'll never go back and trust me I will advise everyone i know not to either!!!

Had a Heart attack on September 6 never was tested for the virus make me wonder if that s why I had the heart Attack but been around people with the virus don t answer the question the nurse ask you she made me out to be a alcoholic my Doctor just shook his head I don t drink and the food suxs lost 10 pounds wasn t there but a day Piedmont s suxs

My experience on 7/17/17 Sent to the ER by my primary care physician because they were scared I was in a "cardiac event". I arrived around noon sat in the waiting area for 5 hours amongst every scum bucket in Rock Hill who were visiting to get their fix. Finally I am taken back examined only to be referred to a specialist.
Today my mother had to go to the ER due to a terrible stomach bug they let her sit for over 5 hours before taking her back as well. There is nothing "Emergency" about this ER. They suck. Go to Charlotte or Pineville if you have an emergency.

I've asked for water 3 times. And I haven't received anything. I'm perfectly cleared to drink. The doctor saw me for maybe 4 minutes and left. He didn't care or was interested at all. The room isn't clean. The nurses use foul language. This is one of the worst visits. And I used to think highly of this place.

I had outpatient surgery 6-19-20. Everyone was great from the pre-op visit days ahead through the check in . Everyone all the nurses and staff could not have been better. I didn't see anything to support negative reviews. I could not have been more pleased.

I have been to Piedmont 3 times in about a year. Each time I have been I was treated extremely well, and taken back within an hour of arriving.
I just got home from there just now and was in and out in less than two hours. They did xrays, the dr came in right away, I was in an area where they put several people at once divided by curtains so I saw how each person was treated for numerous things and each one was handled extremely nice. The dr talked to me several times about my issue then ordered me a shot for my pain some meds to go home with and instructions on home care and what to do if not better in a week. Piedmont might have a bad reputation from other people, but good grief people this place is always packed, it s used as a Drs office for the common cold and simple things that should be taken care of at a drs office or a simple urgent care or cvs. But when people don t have insurance and use the Er for those small drug store fixes the major really sick people get long wait times and over worked Drs and nursies....Put yourself in their place could you handle the stress of people fussing at you for everything from a drink to where s the bathroom or something else. We ve turned our emergency Departments into nightmares for everyone.... so with that being said. I ve been treated extremely nice at Piedmont every time I have gone over the course of 2018 till today. Just be patient and understanding, everyone there is human and doing their best.
Try Cmc Pineville my mother waited 5 hours in the waiting area not knowing if she had a stroke or Bells Palsy and then another 5 hours waiting for a bad fall.
And I ve been there with a migraine and put in the hall with bright lights and very noisy and no help.

I've heard nothing but horror stories about this hospital, I was nervous about having my left Thyroid Lobectomy done Thursday 2-15-18. I must say that everyone I have encountered in the surgical department was absolutely amazing. My nurse Melanie was so sweet, funny and caring I felt so comfortable and relax thanks to her. Surgical team was so nice and each one greeted me and assured me everything will be ok. In the 1st recovering room, I can't recall the nurse name but she was so nurturing I was so cold, shivering when I woke up she gave me some kind of blanket that you hook up a hose to that blows hot air. It warmed me instantly. I did get sick from the anesthesia that same nurse got a cold rag and wiped my face to help me feel better. The whole team was quick to help manage my pain to where it was tolerable level. Just an amazing staff! Thank you for that you guys have done!

A family member was taken there by ambulance during the night in excruciating pain of lower abdomen and side. After some tests they released the patient to go home in early morning hours because all they could find was elevated white blood cell count. Certainly that would give them a clue that there is a problem. However no they sent them home in awful pain and did not find out what was wrong. Well I thought that was what a hospital was suppose to do. Piedmont did not do there job in this case!

Everytime I visit this hospital I gasp at how filthy it is. Bodily fluids (blood) never cleaned from the previous patient(s), urine soaked toilet perimeter, broken paper holder, dirty floors, and trash in the room. So I can only wonder and gasp at what we don't see. HEDIS/NCQA is non-existent. When asked to address staff was defensive. A Radiology Tech clea ed the blood and apologized

Horrible doctor I had. His name was Charles eaves and he did absolutely nothing. This is a horrible hospital they don t tell you anything and they are dirty. Worst hospital ever. Very disappointed. Left in excruciating pain and told me I was constipated. They will be hearing from the state

So my friend hurt her arm at work and was told to come to the hospital to find out what was wrong. We got to the hospital at 11:30pm and they came and did the X-ray at about 12am. We have been sitting here waiting for the results and every time my friend ask about when she will be seen they tell her she is next and then they call someone else that came in after us. Here it is 3am and still haven t seen or heard anything from a doctor. Not to mention we haven t even been called to a room yet. We have to get up in the next 2 hours and nothing has happened yet. If you are sick please make the extra drive and go to CMC or Steel Creek. They don t care about there patience. They don t care to get you better. It makes no sense at all.

Wonderful staff. From the OB doctor staff to the hospital. I was nervous enough to have the surgery, but they had everything arranged ahead of time - the only thing I had to do was have the surgery. I had no worries. The staff was wonderful, the nurses, the dining staff, the staff members who handle the paper work. Just everyone.
This was my first experience with Piedmont so I was nervous - they took care of all my needs. Great hospital, great staff. Thanks to all.

On 10/2/2020, I delivered my baby at the Womens center and received the absolute best level of care from all of the nurses and staff within this facility. Based on other reviews, I was a little hesitant to deliver at this hospital, but I am so glad I didn t make my decision based on those reviews. My husband and I were both reflecting on our time at the hospital and we couldn t come up with any complaints. (For him, that is especially rare) I felt well informed about all decisions that were made and I was extremely impressed with how respectful and kind everyone was. I will be recommending this hospital to my friends and will be delivering future children at this hospital.

Very unhappy experience. Been here for 24 hours and was ordered a CT to rule out a stroke. However here I sit 24 hours later without a CT. Went down to imaging to be told i wasnt even on the list for a CT scan. This is a poor excuse for a hospital. My nurse at one point brought me medication and when I asked if it was the same medication I took last night her answer was "I'm not sure i haven't looked at your chart". I asked another time the results of my xray and her answer was "I havent looked yet" that's was 4 hours ago. This is absolutely the worse I've ever been treated. Transport came up to get me for CT and I end up having a ultra sound of the heart and an x ray? Unbelievable.

Any five star review you see here is no doubt placed by staff of hospital. Hospitals Materinty word should be closed. What they do here when having a baby cannot be undone. Doctor Alba is resident pediatrician , Jennifer is head nurse, these folks shouldn't be heads of anything , neither are acting for benefit of you or your child's best interest. Entire intensive care unit is run by YOU as you must instruct a new nurse everyday on HOW to give consistent care of your child, doctor could careless .No one cares enough to see it through. Housekeeping and cafeteria staff should be fired immediately for non existence behavior. They simply don't do their job AT ALL. The only department that does their job is billing. This is a terrible hospital with staff that simply won't help you unless it's in there best interest. Nothing to do with good health or compassionate care.

Do not go here if you have an emergency. Waited over 4 hours with second degree burns. They were taking people back who had only been here an hour. Completely ridiculous!

Dismissive medical staff, lackluster care. I took my daughter there for a closed head injury, and the doctor sent her home. She had a seizure on the way home and is now on Picu in Charlotte.

My wife is pregnant and she is throwing up blood to this hospital that's not a urgent deal to them so she has been waiting 2 and a half hours and all the nurses are talking and goofing off and the doctors standing around talking and the rooms are nasty there was blood stains in the room there is a reason this hospital has bad reviews the owner is to blame he/she should monitor the staff if he/she wants more customers.personally I will be going to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville for now on

Went to this hospital at 1am on September second because of unbearable throat pain. Upon arriving, I was taken to a room and left. I sat there for 30 MINUTES until someone came in to ask me question about my medical history etc. I then waited another 20 MINUTES for the doctor to come in. He asked me about my problem and then said that someone would come in to do a throat swab. I then waited another 20 MINUTES only to have a nurse come in and take my blood pressure for the second time. I waited at least another 15 minutes for the throat swab. For some reason it took over a half hour for the doctor to get the results of the swab and then inform me.

I did not leave the hospital until around 3:20, meaning I spent almost 2 1/2 hours at a hospital for the doctor to tell me what a general medicine doctor could have done me in 30 minutes. The hospital was not even busy. I saw several nurses watching tv.

Every time we have experienced an indifferent staff and a lack of human compassion.

My wife has been in the hospital for 13 days and have experienced some of the poorest health service. Today she never had a doctor come see her. At 2:30 I asked head nurse if the doctor was coming to see her...was told she would notify him. It's now 5:30 and asked RN if she could check about the doctor and she said sometimes the doctors dont come around if nothing has changed.....well my wifes health has improved and we want to get out of this place!! Everyday I have had to request service and items. This hospital is so understaffed and poorly managed. Please don't risk your health or life at this place and never leave your loved one alone in this place.

My mom was as the ER after a fall. She has been in excruciating pain for a week and was admitted on Friday. They did a CT scan and noticed the brain bleed. Her pain was so extreme she was given morphine and other medication to help alleviate the pain that she was in. They did another CT scan yesterday and saw that it was stable. They released her from the hospital yesterday. My dad called the pharmacy and they didn't even give her a prescription. I called back and they said that she should take Tylenol or come back to the ER again. I cannot believe what terrible care they gave to my mother who is in her 70s. The last thing she needs to do is go sit in an ER right now for the same issue she has yesterday.

This review is ONLY for the ER; I don't know anything about the rest of this place. Holy crap! I think emergency rooms in third-world countries are better than this one! Took my son there, sat down for three minutes and fled in terror. It was small, nasty and overcrowded. The check-in system was horrible and even though we were supposed to be sent right back we were told it would be at LEAST an hour before he was even triaged! I actually called the urgent care that sent us there and told them off, while driving 45 minutes in the other direction to go to an ER in Charlotte (BTW, that ER was immaculate and took us back within 10 minutes.) I'd heard rumors about this nightmare of an ER, but I never knew the horror stories were actually flattering! Rock Hill, you seriously need to allow another hospital system in your area. Piedmont obviously couldn't care less about proper medical care for its residents. This place should be ashamed of itself. If it were a restaurant the health department would shut it down. If it were a factory OSHA would be all over them. I guess because it's the only game in town it's okay for it to be a complete dump.

In response to their "concerned" response: Here's an idea. Tear down that wasteland you call a hospital and take all those bribes you've been spending to keep decent hospitals like CMC out of the area to rebuild the dump you have now! It's the least you can do for the people you keep forcing into substandard treatment!

This is the worst ER to ever go to. Staff is very slow and service is horrible. Room we were sitting for 3 hours was nasty and floor had some type of bodily fluids on it which of course I stepped in- had to disinfect my shoes - asked them 3 times to clean it up but no one ever came.

Horrible place. Kicking my dad out of his room for someone else before he should even be released. Still couldnt feel his legs. He had no extra clothes so let him sit out there with no shirt. Then proceeds to tell him they have cab vouchers so he can go ahead and get out. Then to top it all off told my mom to take him to a hotel. No matter the situation i have i will NEVER go back to piedmont .Ill spend the extra money for cmc hell even a minute clinic. Most unprofessional people and uncaring in their line of work. Yall really need to do better and hire nurses and doctors that dont care about the money but care about the patient.

The public has to know and changes need to be made. If you want to die or be mistreated ! This is the place for you. The staff has no sense of urgency and you are treated as a malingerer as you enter the door. This was my first time in this hospital . I Went with obvious abdominal pain. I had to stand there in the empty emergency room. waiting, in pain and ignored. When finally I Walked to the back about 75 yards in agony, because obviously they did not have a wheelchair. I had to wait for a nurse to put an I.v. Needle for pain medication. Not only that but a separate person to draw blood in my other arm. They could not do both out of one puncture. I could go on and on. But it's the last time I will go there, I will be going to Charlotte, Nc., for my medical needs. Even if I'm close to death on this hospitals doorway.

We just used their facility this past weekend when my son was injured in a baseball game. We can only say great things about the facility and the staff. He was checked in very quickly the staff was very caring and knowledgeable. Our doctor was great and we couldn't have been happier.

Daughter went in for possible concussion on a weekend. Waited 2 hours in the lobby, then another 2 hours waiting to be seen by a Doctor. THAT seemed normal, and it didn't bother me much. What did was their inept billing department. Especially their account website. I entered a payment plan. First two payments I made over the phone. When I logged in to the website to make a payment, it wouldn't let me. It only allowed me to create another payment plan with a credit card (which was fine with me). The next month, when it attempted to charge my card, it failed (had sufficient funds, and the card number was correct). I logged in again to change payment arrangements to draft from checking account. Billing did not auto draft. I logged back in, and my checking account info was missing. So I re-entered the information. THIS time it let me make a payment, so I did. 2 weeks later, I received a letter stating my account was sent to collections. I had 3 months left, and I feel more comfortable dealing with the collection agency than the Piedmont Medical Center Billing department. At least the collections agency knows what they are doing.

Don't go here unless you want to die. Absolute worst hospital in the world. People in third world countries get better care.

Everyone that works in here is rude & unprofessional. Instead of doing work & focusing on the patients all they do is sit around & gossip! When you try to get the nurses attention they completely ignore you & act like they don't see you. They all need to be fired!!!

So unprofessional i had been there since 7am no one in waiting but me and my baby people started coming man there for five mins went straight back my child has been throwing up since 3am this morning i hate this place i really do why they just can't build another hospital i walked out and went to her doctor its never a good experience here never so sad.

Losing an unborn child is one of the most traumatic experiences one can have. The experience itself is heartbreaking. You cannot think straight and continuously pray to the Lord for a day in which acceptance comes. What kind of place would have people sign off on an amount to pay during a time of distress, only to send back a bill twice the amount? This hospital takes advantage of individuals in time of need. An agreed amount should not be a fluctuating thing. If you signed an agreement to pay a certain amount, that should be the amount you pay. Not more, not less. You do not care about the patients. You took an oath of honor as physicians, I am appalled that any self respecting individual is able to work for a place that takes advantages of others and uses every chance to violate that oath. The sheer amount of negative reviews this place has is a testimony of how a vast majority of people treated here feel about this place. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I am sure the HHS will see substantial evidence on the inadequacy of this place.

I'm here due to gout flare up doctor ignored all my answers and once again I'm not getting the medical help I need. If you visit this hospital and get the care you need you are the luckiest in rock hill. The don't treat you right here but sure do bill your insurance company you would think if you read all these bad reviews you would fix this situation. When another hospital cones into town And u have competition I bet you get your act together then and great us seniors with some respect

I've been sitting here for almost 5 hours with chest pain!!

Sitting in the room visiting a family member and I look up and there is mold on the ceiling. She is having breathing problems and now she's breathing this in.

Horrible!!!! The cardiac observation team needs additional training, they are horrible!!!! The cardiologist and the PA were great. I truly believe this is the reject hospital for doctors and nurses who didn't make the cut at a better hospital (maybe not everyone).
