Had my baby here and it was the best EVER. The nurses and staff were all so sweet, helped me with so much. Rooms were super clean food was good and they treated me and my newborn with so much respect. Would recommend this hospital to anyone.

I documented my entire time spent there as an "involuntary patient" in their psychiatric ward and I think the documents speak for themselves...
My apologies in advance for the chicken scratch. The patients are only given flexi pens to write with under "heavy monitoring". If it's possible, I will eventually press charges...

everyone here is very rude and unprofessional and withholds information and doesn't care about anyone that's waiting. this is the worst hospital me or any family member or friend have ever been to. They literally forget about you here. The normal wait time is like 7 hours, you could be dead by then.I mean your hospital has two stars, is that not an eye opener?! Do better

99% of the times I visited this hospital's ER it was at least 7 hours before I saw a Dr & was treated. I understand if they're packed it's gonna take time but the hospital is so inefficient. If they would use common sense, change a few things, they could get patients in & out so much quicker. U wait hours to be called back, then once ur in a room they leave u sitting there for hours before the Dr, PA, or nurses even come see u. Then if the Dr orders u some meds u best believe it'll be another hour & 1/2 before they're brought to u.

I went for surgery, they were very unprofessional. Laughing and cutting up. Even when they put me on the cold table. So I sat up and they started freaking out saying why is he awake. They were trying to cut me wile I was awake. Then they held me down and made me breath something that put me out.i was so scared. When I woke up I was in the worse pain of my life. That been a wile and I still hurt very day of my life. There is also a big bump on it that is very uncomfortable. They said it's nothing and they are not connected, but they are just covering it up.there are a few other thing that that day too but they are to personal to write on here. So you have been warned. If was bleeding to death about to die,I would drive right past the sorry excuse for a hospital.

im sorry but i can't forgive the way i was evaluated. Staff definitely need some pep in their step and i dont reccomend coming here for mental health issues, however if you do have mental health issues DO get help.

edit: you spelled my name wrong, congratulations on another bad review. but also thank you for saving countless lives <3

edit 2: im speechless, and the only person that deserve a congratulations are the nurses and doctors who delivered my brother, the majority of the staff neglected my mother and quite frankly forgot about us and got an attitude if we asked for water, i honestly cannot believe they would treat a new mother like that. Also the picture is after i drained the bath.MY BROTHER WAS WASHED IN THAT WATER, it was piss yellow and left rust and brown residue all over the tub, i even had to drink the sink water because the nurse wouldn't come back and i couldn't leave my mother. Please do not contact me and i am however grateful for what they have provided

My wife was admitted for pneumonia we let all the doctors and nurses know that she is allergic to steroids but the genius doctors still ordered it the nurse put the steroids into a pick line instead of IV. They almost killed my wife by far the most inept poor excuse of a hospital I have ever seen.

If you are looking for a kind hospital with people that cares about your health please don t ever go there. The employees there are so mean not compassion, no education no sense of responsibility and hospitality. Ugly and horrible hospital ever... All the employees there should take training on how to treat others. Don t let them steal your ensurance money. Also isn t clean and forget it how the doctors are. Go to other hospital if you want to live longer.

On 12/12, we went to the ER for my wifes medical issues. Severe abdominal pain, extreme weight loss due to not being able to eat or keep food in her system. Back/shoulder pain. Dizziness. this was the 3rd trip to the er in less than a months time. Here is everything that happened:

1) The person in the ER asked for the symptoms. I tried to show him a list and he said:
"I don't have time for all of those symptoms, just give me the short summary". Uhm what? how are you supposed to treat someone if you dont know ALL of the issues? Aren't you supposed to document ALL symptoms before helping someone??

2) another person looked at her files and said "well based on all the tests you've had done we won't be able to do anything to help you". Then suggested the issue was something that it CLEARLY wasn't. After they sent us back out to the waiting room, the lady walks out with a few printed off sheets with information of what she suggested the issue was, and NONE of the symptoms matched. NONE. ZERO MATCHES. We looked over it briefly and we told her that she wasn't experiencing ANY of those symptoms, at which point the lady scoffed, threw hands up in the air, and said, and yes i am 100% quoting her, "well I don't know, try googling it". Uuhm....WHAT?!?! WE CAME TO THE ER TO GET ANSWERS AND YOU'RE GOING TO TELL US TO GOOGLE IT?!?!

The Hippocratic Oath states as follows:
"I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant: I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow."

How are you going to swear to that and then tell someone WHO CAN BARELY STAND UP ON HER OWN WILL to go on WebMD to find out whats wrong with her???

3) The ER was absolutely disgusting. There was probably more contaminated trash on the floor and in the seats of that ER than there is in a bio-hazard bin in a testing lab of the Center Disease Control.

We ended up leaving and going straight to Atrium. BEST DECISION we could have made.

Which brings us to today. My wife has called multiple times about having your medical records office send information over to the short term disability office and nobody is responding. Short term has reached out multiple times as well. We will be calling every day, multiple times until we get an answer. Also, to make sure you guys are complying, I will be leaving multiple reviews EVERYDAY until we hear from the short term disability that the records to confirm that you guys have sent over the necessary documentation.

I'm not sure who is in charge of the HR department, or what legal action needs to be brought on this establishment, but the fact that you guys are able to do what you do and get away with it without facing repercussions is the most absurd thing to me.

PEOPLE AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS GET FIRED FOR STEALING NUGGETS BUT YOU GUYS CAN TREAT THE ILL THIS WAY AND STILL KEEP YOUR JOBS?!?!?!

You can expect my next review tomorrow.

Some great nurses but Terrible Billing processes. Twice in the last year, Piedmont personnel were clearly and concisely informed that the episode was 100% workers compensation. Just the same, they billed BCBS. In addition to a painful injury, you are also left to fight a frustrating battle to attempt to correct billing. Avoid them unless it is a life or death matter. Their billing department needs to be completely revamped with all new staff. Again, every person encountered was clearly informed that the episode was workers compensation and yet they refuse to listen.

This is the second time I ve been to the emergency room here, and each time I m more disappointed. If you don t already know what s wrong with you, chances are they won t be able to figure it out. They ll make rookie mistakes and then blame it on you. Good luck if you choose to go here

I visited the ER on 8-27-2020. I have Covid symptoms and was very sick and weak. I couldn't sit up any longer after 3 hrs of waiting and asked for a bed. I was refused and asked to lay on the bench like a homeless person that was very uncomfortable. I was there a total of almost 6 hours before given the Covid test and sent home 15 min later telling me to check the portal for my results. I just tried to find the portal and could not. I called the hospital a total of 3 times talking to Trina in ER that said she didn't know! I called back and talked to a head nurse that dummies me down by telling me to prompt a portal that does not exist and called back to get another answer of they didn't know! This was the most 3rd world care I have ever in my life received with the lack of compassion and knowledge. If you can make it to another hospital I would very much advise you too. Very disappointed at the lack of professionalism. Please don't respond back to me apologizing and saying your gonna send it to a dept for review because it's an insult that after a year you guys still haven't done one thing to fix it or you wouldn't have the very same complaints and reviews. We don't want an apology, we want to see a difference!

Terrible service.

Terrible service.
They could care less about people here.
I checked in online and still took 4 hours.
They don t care because people have to come.

Worst experience with this clinic ever!

Worst experience with this clinic ever!
dishonest billing practices.
They charged us 4x after insurance what all other area facilities charged for the same procedure.
Refused to negotiate any discounts on the final billing statement.
When making 1st payment 4 days after setting up payment arrangements they started us out with double payment and set 1st CURRENT payment out as a late charge.
We Pay all of our bills on time so I am very frustrated and angry at their billing departments shark like tactics.

My mother Linda burnish is there I hope you take care of her in a proper manner. 6/28/20 I'm starting to understand this hospital has some issues surely hope mr. Mark can fix them. 7/2/20 I'm worried for my mother I can't get too her. and they got her drugged up way too much very upsetting7/8/20 so far this Hospital hasn't impressed me. 7/10/20 you better not hurt my mother . 08/12/2020 I don't think I have a mother anymore

Horrible , horrible experience , my daughter had a high temp so I called and made a Dr.s appointment which they sent us to Piedmont medical because she was a newborn , so my pediatrician called before hand and told me which Dr I would see, we got to Piedmont at 5pm didn't get a room until 9pm, they tried to do a spinal tap which was not successful, put my child through all that pain for no reason at all. Dr. paxtor talks over you, do not listen to you and very nonchalant attitude, I tried to explain I have other children at home and no family to help with arrangements but he just have cold shoulders I don't like him I will be going to cmc where I had my daughter. Changing pediatrician as well. I never liked Piedmont to begin with that's why I had my daughter at cmc but her pediatrician affiliates with Piedmont

After reading the reviews on Piedmont Medical Center and knowing how everyone in the area says to avoid them at all costs, I was very hesitant on having my sons surgery here. My son had an outpatient surgery with Dr. Jones from Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat, so not with a Piedmont doctor, however we were happy with all of Piedmonts staff despite what I went in expecting. The super sweet greeters and check in people (volunteers might I add) were so wonderful and helpful. My sons nurses were FABULOUS and so caring and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Steven Petersen Jr., was also wonderful. The facility was very clean and looked liked it had been updated recently. I went in with anxiety and left with the exact opposite. Healthcare is a challenging field and I would encourage those who had negative experiences here to give them another try.

This entire facility should be shut down for the way the staff treats their patients especially those of color. I have never been so degraded, felt so unsafe, or just experience pure negligence. Yes they're trying to cover up my fall, but I have a whitness but will not even speak to me about the issue. I can't wait to get back to NY & sit down with my legal team. NO, I don't care who they are should be subjectd to such abuse, then a cover up & lies. This is unbelievable, they are so mean and nasty I had no choice other than leave with my blood pressure still dangerously high
Everyone involved with that hospital should be ashamed of themselves

REVIEW OF MATERNITY WARD

REVIEW OF MATERNITY WARD
If you value ANY kind of experience when having a baby, DON'T do it here. I delivered in Feb 2017. Baby will be taken away from you immediately after birth. You WILL NOT get any bonding time to meet your child until the quacks that call themselves doctors are finished, this could be hours to days.
You are placed in a filthy room , with dirty bathrooms and a piss poor bed. You are jailed here , NOT PERMITTED FRESH AIR OR SUNSHINE OF ANY KIND. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO GO OUTSIDE YOU ARE TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL AND BABY IS THEN TAGGED .
You are given a menu to order food. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. I realize hospital food is not the best but it should be at least eatable so you can recover and keep your strength up. You will not eat here. Plan for it. Breakfast will arrive wrong and at lunchtime. Lunch will arrive at dinnertime and they will call you and remind you to order dinner by six which arrives wrong , dirty and cold. I photographed the filth of my tray and food cover that hadn't been washed in a decade. REMEMBER you are not permitted to walk outside so recovering with zero food for days while expected to breastfeed is IMPOSSIBLE. You can have all the tap water you want says the nurse.
This hospital pushes C SECTIONS for the money but rooms are not stocked with any post supplies like sanitary napkins, soap, clean towels or even toilet tissue. Doctor that comes in your room will be for ONE minute and they change everyday , know nothing about you and your needs. Nurses are unbelievably unqualified and can't keep your meds regulatory which leaves you in unbearable pain.
The resident pediatrician Doctor Alba should NOT be working with children and has personality of wet mop.No talent in talking to parents at all and seems like he's got something to prove in life. He will give any excuse to keep your baby for extensive uncalled for testing while milking insurance. Any and All forms to be signed will be given to you under sedation. Never received consent to treat for my baby and never agreed to any of the horrific testing they put my baby through. If Dt. ALBA decides your baby needs to stay for whatever, you can't leave with your baby, if you disagree with his opinon IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER, YOUR BABY IS ALSO JAILED AND CAN NOT LEAVE! Every test they ran came back negative , he kept her for two weeks. I found her swaddled in dirty blankets with a bandaid on it that wasn't hers.
Before you can take your child home you have to do something called "boarding" . This is a 24 hour test period where you are again JAILED in a room with your baby and given no food options or access to mediCal care. No microwave or refrigerator to bring food or supplies or store fresh breast milk for baby. If you are breastfeeding , you can't WALK OUTSIDE to feed yourself for full 24 hours. This is completely inadequate health care from all angles.
I was told I HAD to have my baby here or I was doomed to an emergency room elsewhere. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY AN EMERGENCY ROOM WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THAN THIS !!!
This hospital stole my birthing experience and sent me home with a traumatized child that can't sleep soundly from fear. Head nurse and pediatrician are evil people with issues. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AND NOT TO THIS HOSPITAL. WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF HAVING BABY in a THIRD WORLD!!! I read the reviews while in hospital, same response to all of them, "we are committed to providing excellent service" blah blah blah .. I want to know why you have clearly made zero changes to your hospitals policies, food service, cleanliness, and so on. I want to know why your senior staff members feel as though they can treat people any way the want and seem to consider themselves above respect of any kind. I want answers as to why your food service team is the most racist and incompetent I've ever experienced. Why do you answer your reviews with a phone number to privately speak instead of being honest on this forum. I want back the experience your hospital stole.

This is where you come to die! I waited 6 hrs to be seen. During chest xray I noticed all the nurses texting and playing, with a lobby full of people that need help! I ended up being admitted and I have never seen such sorry care. Nurses come in break things and have to call for repair, they stare at you through window like your in a zoo. Each room also has a camera pointed directly on you! Dr's give you no information and just enjoy walking around in a white lab coats. They always leave your door open when they leave. You will get no rest here! STAY AWAY!

Terrible hospital. They treat you like a drug addict probably because they see so many of them .I went in with my face and body going numb on left side and dizziness. They did nothing for me. Took blood. Seen doctor for 2 minutes and was discharged. And made a claim on my insurance for over 5000 dollars. I'm currently trying to find legal advice to dispute the bogus claim

Dr. Barry Chan performed an aorta replacement this past December. My experience at Piedmont Medical was top shelf all the way. My experience with Dr. Chan and all of the nursing team was excellent. I am a new person. The photo is the calcified valve he replace which was working at less than 15% capacity. This is proof government should NOT be involved with healthcare.

My mother passed away at this hospital on 04/20/2018. I have to say that this hospitals palliative team is horrendous!!!! To start off my mother could not get onto a bed pan let alone say she needed to use it. Had it not been for my sisters and I checking my mother, she would have sat in her own urine. My mother was removed from life support without notification or any explanation as to what they were doing to my sisters who were present. 1 1/2 hours before my mother passed, their case worker Debbie came into the room and argued with us that she would be moved to Pineville. Needless to say she received a piece of my mind. The doctor was supposed to come into the room and talk to us before removing life support and he never did. He just showed up to pronounce her. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HER IF YOU FEEL IT IS EMERGENT!!!

Very dirty hospital! I saw the same piece of paper in the elevator for 5 days. And, with only one elevator working one would think they would try to keep it clean. The actual bathrooms in the hospital room reeks of urine. While in the ER, the garbage was overflowing with bloody mater, etc. we had to ask for them to remove it. It wouldn t be so bad ...except had to stay that room till we were admitted. The person cleaning the ER actually picked a pillow off the floor and put in the back of the bed. In the actual patient room there is not any hand sanitizer. They did promptly bring it when we asked for it.
Very understaffed!!

7 1/2 hours

7 1/2 hours

Most spent in waiting room. Miserable. Never offered a drink ' , nor a snack
All because of a brooken finger and some bruising
Actual time spent with me...1.25 hours.
CMC from now oon.

After being exposed to Covid by one of their medical professionals, I had to get tested. I was told my results would be expedited so I would know if I've exposed my husband to this and whether or not he would be able to continue work at this time as well as my daughter. Over a week later, I have zero access to the patient portal because they've entered incorrect information. Making MULTIPLE calls to have this corrected, I have been on hold then transferred to someone else just to be hung up on. NOBODY can afford to be out of work at this time. This is extremely unprofessional.

I gotta say I was actually hesitant about going he...

I gotta say I was actually hesitant about going here because I had read so many bad reviews previously. But I have to say what I read is not what I experienced. The wait time was a lil out of the ordinary but I get it. It s an ER. Reason I was there was I had surgery on my cervical spine 8 months ago and I have been feeling a pop in my neck/ left shoulder quite a few times and at work i had lifted a child and when it happened a sharp pain shot down to my left elbow. They did X-rays and helped me with my pain. Dr Jenkins was amazing and the nurses were great too. I had heard the lady next to me yelling kinda at the dr cause she didn t wanna just distribute pain meds. People don t understand drs have rules and regulations they have to follow and need a reason to do so. I felt bad for the dr cause it seemed the lady was belittling her when all the dr was doing was her job!

UPDATE: As you see I took away 2 stars!! And that is soley on the fact that I went back for a 2nd time yesterday. I haven t been able to see my surgeon yet and have an appointment in 2 days so when my shoulder popped and that same issue happened I went back to that same place cause I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK IF IT CONTINUES BEFORE I SEE MY SURGEON. So this time I saw the PA Bryan. He was a joke and so were his nurses. Who the heck puts someone who recently had cervical spine surgery and is in crazy pain in a room with no bed and have to sit on a damn chair?????????? They come in and give a pillow thinking that s ok. But after I get back from CT the pillow was gone. UNBELIEVABLE. Now I m home here with feeling the same and if I decide to go anywhere is will be CMC. At least I know they have my records and they will take care of my issue further. Oh and when u decide to have your maintenance lady clean your bathroom you should have them check with the patient if the cleaning supplies were bothering them. Cause that was some strong s***!!!! Ridiculous.

Came into E.R. for a dislocated wrist, was put under and doctor put it back in place with a splint and was to follow up with Ortho for a permanent cast. 4 days later at Ortho I was admitted to CMC Main for a broken arm and shattered wrist. Piedmont not only misdiagnosed my injury but also performed a CT scan and an MRI that I refused to have because of an obvious break in the wrist. Almost $15,000 charged to me. Would never recommend anyone to this Hospital. $ is all that matters, not patient care.

Just spent 4 days Piedmont medical center room 353 my cardiologist Dr. Slota saved my life awesome doctor. answers all your questions and doesn't run out of the room will stay until you're satisfied. Nursing staff was unbelievable greatest nurses. I spent two weeks at Pineville CMC and there nurses are awesome also nurses are awesome. The only complaint I had was the food. we're not consistent on the times they bring the food CMC-Pineville food was better.

Worst experience ever!!!! If you have a choice DO NOT come to the hospital. I had to bring my niece because she is pregnant an was throwing up all day couldn t keep anything down. We had to wait in the ER waiting area for 7 hours. This is ridiculous! I will never come back to this hospital EVERRRRRRR again.

Husband came to the ER after an accident. The nurses at the registration area were not confidential at all of any other patient's. That was 1 of the things that irked my nerves! We got called into the back, there was no room obviously, neither did anyone advise us we would be waiting in the hallway to be seen for a doctor. A grandma laid out across from us.. poor thing. For the record, I know grandma's business as well.

I was a patient there until Thursday April 26th when I was moved across the street to Pruitt Healthcare for rehab. My stay at PMC was great but I was worried about going to rehab

I got here at 5 pm and it is now almost 4 am. I was told by my nurse here at Pruitt that the pharmacy had not delivered my meds yet, but it should be soon. Almost 11 hours later, there are still no meds including no vancomycin for my foot infection. They also have not even checked my blood sugar to see if I need insulin

Piedmont, can you make this better? They are going to undo all the work you guys did and I m worried the infection will spread and I ll lose that foot. I was in Rm 302 under the care of Dr. Porzengias

Doesn t even get one star!! How is this hospital allowed to remain open? There should be warning signs upon entering that reads WARNING: you are about to receive half ass medical care, eventually, and pay twice what you should for it! If you have other options, take them!

The absolute worst experience ever. I would rather have someone drive me to Pineville before I go back to this hospital. Their structure where they are seperating people who have COVID symptoms needs major improvement. Instead of isolating those who actually have COVID, you put them near people that may not even have it. No one is following the 6ft distance either.

I see hard working people doing their job with little gratitude from patients. Yes, there is usually a waiting period involved but that is normal for any emergency facility. These people have very long hours to fulfill and when a patient is rude or shows no respect, it is a dagger in their heart. They have sacrificed their time and energy just to see patients get well. The facility is mostly clean at all times and every nurse, technician, and doctor always greet me with a smile. Piedmont shows complete professionalism in all aspects. Their attire is clean, their hair pulled back or away from their face, they use a positive tone of voice, they are respectful to the patient's needs, and they show they actually care about you. It is time to stop thinking of Piedmont as a bad ER and actually look through their eyes and see the dedication they have.

My daughter went into the ER this morning because she swallowed a metal marble. In the comments on her discharge papers, it says she was running a fever of 102+ and that she was vomiting. It also says that she's on or prescribed Zofran.
1. I was not given ANY prescription for her.
2. They only checked her temperature ONCE upon arrival which read 98.4
3. She never vomited

This is the Worst hospital, there have been patience coughing up blood that had been here since 3PM on 5/22/19 it's now around 3 AM 5/23/19 and was told another person who came in later will be seen before him. We have been here for 7 hours and counting. I will not make the mistake of coming here again.

BED BUGS!!! DO NOT GO HERE...THEY HAVE INEXPERIENCED NURSES, THEY ARE INFESTED WITH BED BUGS AND FLYING BUGS IN THE ROOMS AND THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. My daughter was not allowed to shower for 3 days!!!!! DO NOT TAKE ANYONE HERE FOR "CARE"....im reporting thisvto DHEC and the HIPPA Violations will be reported as well. contact me if you want to see a video of the bed bugs ...im trying to let the public no what is going on in this place

My daughter had been complaining about her right s...

My daughter had been complaining about her right side and her back hurting and rated her pain as a 7.5. She had seen her dr the day before and the dr said if the pain persists take her to the er. We get there and sit for 6 hrs for them to say that it is a stomach ache. The original dr that was treating her was rude and left during the shift change and the new dr on call never came to check on her while we were waiting for test results. They gave her nothing for pain at all, so she was laying there in pain while waiting. I had to go to the nurses station and ask how much longer because she hadn't eaten and it was getting later in the night. They then called the dr and he said I don't know what it is, I gonna say its a bad tummy ache and to follow up with her pediatrician. Out of all the staff that we encountered on 3 people were nice and courteous, 2 nurses and the night security guard in the er. Worst place ever, should have went to levines in charlotte. This place needs to be closed down!!!

The lack of customer care and cleanliness really has me questioning why this place is even still running. The floors in the waiting room and even in the back were covered in dirt and trash. We waited for over 5 hours before they would tell us anything final. The overall lack of professional care was awful, it s literally revolting here.

small, dumpy room with the absolute worst bed I have ever been on. The mattress is so thin when you're on the bed your body actually touches the bed frame. My hips were damaged from 2 nights at this disgraced place.
Not very clean; I found long black hairs in my supposed clean bed. Will not use this facility again. Hospital appears to be understaffed and the Drs competency is definitely questionable.

In August 2017 I was having an intense pain under my Xiaphoid process around 7am. I checked in to PMC ER using their online check in service. I arrive and was immediately taken back, with vitals and blood taken. Soon after I was placed in an observation room and given a dose of Morphine for the pain, the nurse administered it slowly due to nauseating effects if giving fast. ER Doctor being nice, came in and explained that from my symptoms he wanted to get a CAT scan. After the scan, the ER Doctor came in and stated that my Gallbladder looked inflamed and would like to get an Ultrasound to confirm. Ultrasound confirmed that my Gallbladder was indeed inflamed and needed removal. ER Doctor said that they decided to admit me and contacted the General Surgeon to schedule a surgery. Spent maybe three days in the hospital, the Surgeon was extremely nice and knew what he was talking about. As I was waiting for my surgery my nurses were so sweet and kind. Surgery came and went and was discharged the day after; the Surgeon told me I had gallstones the size of marbles and he stopped counting at 50. He said for them to get that big I would of had to had them for a couple of years. After my experience and the experiences of my family members, I will never be worried about coming here for anything.

I would Not go to this hospital for stitches. 9 and half yrs ago they misdiagnosed my dad (he died at home 6 months later) and it appears nothing has changed. I was desperate for help and tired them and was given 2 different fairly serious diagnoses and sent home.

This place is a joke. We will NOT be seeking care here in the future.

After a medical procedure over the summer I had set up a recurring payment to take care of my bill. Shortly after, I received a letter in the mail stating that my payment was due. I called customer service and they had no record of the recurring payment being set up. Over the phone we set it up a second time.

It looked like everything had gone through correctly.

A couple weeks ago I received a letter from a collections agency for the full balance of the bill.

Upon calling Piedmont's customer service line I was told that the account was no longer with Piedmont and they could not help me. I asked what had happened to my recurring payment and was once again told they had no information and I would need to take matters up with the collections agency.

This is the SECOND time I have had billing issues with Piedmont.

Get your accounting together!

I went to the emergency room today and it was probably the WORST medical care I have ever gotten by a doctor (the nurses and other staff seemed very nice and caring. But most of why I came in was never addressed by the Dr, or just glossed over because it "wasn't an emergency" and because I had just seen my own Dr a week ago and had another appointment set up with him next week. I had ear fullness, congestion., and ringing in my ear - and never had my ears looked at. I had severe foot pain that kept me up all night and he never looked at my foot - didn't even take my footwear off to see if I had possibly stepped on something. No x-rays. No blood work. No tests of any kind. No prescriptions.

EDITED TO ADD - I went to the wound care center 3 days after this ER visit and there was a LARGE OPEN WOUND on the bottom of my left foot, which would have been IMMEDIATELY evident had the ER Dr bothered to check my foot.

This is by far the worst experience I've had with ...

This is by far the worst experience I've had with any medical center ever. Lazy nurses, carless doctors, uneducated lab techs. Overall mess.

First, the registration desk did not take my insurance information when I was checking in. I notified her my ID was not my current address and she would need to take down a new one for proper billing. She said someone would get it from me later, which no one did. I had to call the registration department so someone would take my information that I was trying to get them to take when I checked in.

Secondly, The lab tried to do a Basic Metabolic Panel and and Hepatic Function Panel to charge me for two blood tests when they could have just ran a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel and get the same results in one test. I had to call the billing department to sort this out after I got home.

Third, my doctor (who I had to look up because he never actually introduced himself) barely treated my problem. He did not do a very thorough exam, ignored my family medical history, and assumed I smoking, alcohol, and coffee were the cause of my stomach pains that had been lasting for over 24 hours. I don't smoke and he never even asked if I did. I drink very little alcohol and only had a half a cup of coffee that day because I was already in pain. He prescribed me Zofran, which is anti-nausea medicine and will do nothing for gastritis or stomach ulcers. He also told me to take prilosec, which I already told him I was taking, but apparently he didn't care to ask me questions or listen to what I was telling him. I left the hospital feeling the exact same as when I was there with no real diagnosis, relief, or idea as to what is wrong with me.

I am going to follow up with my PCP and will be contacting the Director of the ER at Piedmont to file a formal complaint. If only I could find out who that is, no one at your facility seems to be able to tell me.

Do NOT go here!! If you want real help find somewhere else ! My sister came in a week ago and is still here they put a iv in her arm but it wasn t even in all the way her arms were swollen like balloons! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER !!!!!

Dr. Chang was great that is about where the good review ends. They kept my Dad in CICU for two months. Long story short he is now on pallative care they are going to stop lasix his lungs will fill with fluid and he will most likely die. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. I will hold them personally responsible from this point forward. You should drop Medical from your name.

I went to the ER having breathing problems. I checked in at 12 noon, they did a chest X-ray, EKG, and blood work. It was a busy day in the ER, however after waiting for 5 hours to be seen I let the front staff know how long I had been waiting and they assured me that I would be seen soon. Another 2 hours passed and I was feeling worse, I let the staff know and was told the same story. Then the worst thing, I had a panic attack and after taking my vitals which by then my blood pressure was high, they wheeled me back to the waiting room and said to wait for my name to be called. At that point I was done, 7 hours wait is unacceptable, my husband wheeled me to our car and I went home. I will never willingly go back to this ER. By the way, several others were complaining about the long wait also. Worst experience I ve ever had at any ER.

Smh, I watched at least 6 staff( doctors and nurse )just sitting while me and my kids waited 3 hrs to be seen. They act like they didn't care. Their supervisor never cam out to see what was going on when. Called there service should always be free cause they don't care about nobody!!!!

I was in ICU following a cardiac ablation. I got sick from the anesthesia and threw up in my bed around 6:30 pm. Finally at 10 pm, my bed was changed. The night nurse assigned to me would not call my doctor as I requested as I was in extreme pain. Said she didn t have to since she already had orders.

I have called the local complaint department twice this week and have had no return call.

I was just here at Piedmont medical center and it was awful. The 3rd shift people was unprofessional, the doctor didn't want to do a scan on my stomach. I've been vomiting and having diarrhea nonstop and I'm still in pain. I asked a nurse in the front could I sit on the inside and wait for the bus she said no someone please do something about this place.

I would give zero stars if I could. My elderly grandfather has been there for weeks and every few days there is a new hospitalist and they never know what is going on. I guess they can't write notes or communicate with each other or us because they never seem to know what is going on. And they do not put in the effort to find out the plan or work to make things happen. It's is a horrible place where people don't care at all about getting the patients the care they need.

As a healthcare provider myself, I feel like I have had to ask for every single thing my family member needs and he may or may not get it for several days if at all. He has been over sedated time and time again which has made his health declined further because the hospital is understaffed and unable to provide the care to a confused old man and instead give him sedatives to make there own jobs easier. His hospital stay has been prolonged due to lack of communication and overall poor care given at this hospital. I could go on, but needless to say I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. They have demonstrated a clear inability to do the most basic requirements for providing care including communication at the very top of the list.

Worst ER. Was brought in by ambulance because I had fallen and busted my knee. Was never checked out thoroughly. I had a wound on my knee, which wasnt cleaned or treated. Was told I was going to get a tentnaus shot and that never happened. Wasnt given discharge papers. Poorest care. Went in on 2.27 for surgery and was getting prepped, doctor took one look at my knee and said no surgery because wound was infected. It appears that piedmont billed my insurance company for the surgery and hospital stay for 2.27 thru 3.1. When I got my paperwork from my insurance company, they paid piedmont. Piedmont says it will take 30 days to get this straightened out. I caution people to check your claims and ask for an itemized statement. I filled out survey and still haven't received a response from them.

I took my mother to the emergency room at Piedmont Medical and we were treated extremely well. Every person we interacted with, from the check-in clerk and triage nurse to all the nurses, lab techs, and doctors in the emergency department went above and beyond to help my mother. They made sure we understood what was happening and fully explained her diagnosis and how to use her medications. I could not have asked for better care for my mother.

This is a review concerning food service that is absolutely the worst I have ever encountered. My dad has been in for 7 days now and every day we have had to go and pick up food and bring back. He haa been giving mashed potatoes everyday sometimes twice (lunch/supper) and I'm sure rice is inexpensive. Zucchini or carrots every meal. Had 1 bowl of grits brought one morning with nothing else. There needs to be a selection that patients can choose from so those that don't eat certain things has a choice. There is enough money being charged for all things that this shouldn't be lacking this bad.

I recently stayed at Piedmont for 6 weeks straight and overall; I had a good experience. I had a problem with one doctor and when I expressed my issue with my other physician, the problem was solved and I didn't have to worry anymore. The food ave food service was always good and prompt, as well.

Sat in the nasty lobby for 6 hours to never be seen by a doctor n they weren't even busy. Bathrooms were disgusting n nothing seemed clean or sterile. Felt completely nasty when I finally walked out!! I will NEVER go back to hospital again. Ask a question n nobody seems to know anything. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star!!

NURSES FOR THE PYSCH WARD. first things first, i got a call from my minor cousin who was admitted by the person who was doing the damage. He was telling me that if he had a guardian to come and pick him up that he would be able to leave, mind you i also heard the nurse say the same thing over facetime. so me and my mother, arrive to pick him up and then we are told he will not be released until tomorrow morning. My cousin ordered the ride for us to get him because he had his phone due to the fact that they WERE discharging him. once we arrived we go through all of this confusion with the nurses and they were lying straight through their teeth. Saying they were trying to release him for hours and by the time he contacted it us, that's when they went and changed their minds. I have been in a psych ward before and i know that i would not appreciate being led to think i'm being released, going through all of the motions of being released, just to be told i am not. it's very unprofessional of the nurses to have a patient encounter that.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been 2. The emergency room staff was slow ride and unaware. I sat in the room in the worst pain possible for over an your with not 1 nurse or Dr home in my room to ask anything, after roaming the halls for 10 min someone finally asked if I needed help. I explained my situation to the nurse n she told me that someone was close to dying so all the nurses where n that room. 1st off tgis is a hospital, if you fo not have enough staff to take care of an "EMERGENCY" what's the point in anyone coming to the emergency room smh. Then she lied cause I was looking at plenty of nurses walking n sitting around. It is not going on 1 your 20 min of been sitting sitting here and NOTHING. SMH Better off dying dying than coming here. Horrible

The worst place in the United States of America. Literally!!!!!! I would go to the er in Gold Hill, Atrium in Steelecreek, or Novant in uptown Charlotte. A dog would get better treatment there than you would here. Just to make a 30 min drive and be seen, rather than wait 4 hrs would be better than anything. The nurses don t even come in the room to check on you. This hospital is stealing your money.

This hospital is worse then a prison. They WILL NOT let you see your loved ones. My mother has been admitted here twice and both times theyve lied to me and her while trying to cover up there ineptitude. And neither time have I been allowed to see her until her release.

Worst hospital I have ever been to in my entire life.. urgent care sent me here after they found out I had an infection spreading through my blood...

I get there, VERY ill and with a life threatening condition and they made me sit in the waiting room for almost 4 hours...I was hysterical crying in the waiting room because I was so sick.

Doctors and staff were rude and seemed like they didn't care.. I was finally put in a room and got a nurse who could barely speak English. She had to stick the Iv in me multiple times because she didn't know what she was doing..she finally had to get a more experienced nurse who was able to do it in one shot.

My doctor only stopped in for 2 minutes and I never saw him again.

They had me on Iv antibiotics for 20 minutes..I was suppose to be on Iv antibiotics for 12 hours(sure enough I went home and got very ill a few hours later) they rushed me out..

They knew nothing about the rare strep b bacteria I had in my blood and seemed like they didn't care..they also did not treat it right..

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. It's awful..should be shut down...small, understaffed and uneducated employees

I had excellent care while staying at Piedmont. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. They kept me well informed about me situation in terms I could understand. I was also appreciative to those who stayed to make sure I could be discharged as soon as possible.

My mother can to the ED today brought by her work for extreme epigastric pain. Once she arrived at the ED it took them 15 minutes to get her blood and another 20-30 to come back and get a 6- second ECG. After sitting in the waiting room for over an hour and trying to lay down, bend over, rock back and forth, She couldn t ease the pain and began crying so much that other ED patients were asking if she was ok. I went and asked the triage nurses (x3) if they knew when she would be taken back and they said they really didn t know because they were really busy when I explained to them she was in extreme pain and couldn t stop crying because of the pain they just repeated that they were busy and would get to her when they could. After being here for 1hour and 50 minutes they finally took her to an observation room and quickly moved her to an ED room (not super track). Once in the room the ED doctor was quick to come in and send her for more tests. While in the Waiting and triage area she was treated as nothing more than a number and not given the common courtesy of human decency. Not one piedmont staff came to check on her even after I explained what was going on with her.

While in her room near the nurses station nurses/ Ed techs/ students openly talked about patients information in front of us and also cussed and used vulgar language describing patients calling one a dumb ass because he was being brought in by ambulance under police custody. I have never been so repulsed by the behavior and actions nurses and hospital staff.
As the commercial say if you haven t been to piedmont lately, you haven t been to piedmont and it is not a good thing.

I would give lower than one star this place is absolutely the worst facility I ve been in waited five hours for a dr to come in and give us results to X-rays and blood work kept us waiting with nothing and the place is disgusting as well I will be taking my father to CMC pineville from here on out at least they have more that one dr and one that actually knows what they are doing. Most incompetent staff and lack of staff is horrific if we ever get dis garage never again

Lazy Doctor Young just stands around, then gets him a doughnut. Most unprofessional medial person I have ever seen. No wonder he is working night shift at Peidmont at his age.

If I could rate zero I would. First I was an admit at the request of my cardiologist bc some heart concerns. The hospitalist cursed me and told me that it is not their job to find out what was wrong with me but their job was to make sure I wasnt actively dying. He then gave orders for me to be discharged, my blood pressure had been elevated from the time I was admitted on Christmas eve until my discharge on Christmas day however, I was not given anything for it the entire time. When the nurse came in to dx me I ask her if I was going to receive a dose of the new med since the dr. changed my ex and she told me no I could just get the rx filled the next day. She sends me home and later that night I end up back with a bp160/100s. The md does order me meds to drop bp and then discharges me, before I can even get out the er I fall and hit my head, reinjured my back and shoulder. The staff just stood their looking at me, however they readmitted me. No one did any neuro checks and when the md realized that I was a nurse she went out of my room to.warn the staff. Too late. I am embarrassed as a healthcare worker to know that fellow healthcare workers treat patients the way they treated me!!!!!

The service was excellent! my truck partner told me he was served royally! A five-star VIP! He only had cold food but it was perfect and his liking, considering his condition. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable!
Thank you very much for taking care of him!

The worst experience I have ever had here with my mother! Had to put at least 1 star just so that I could comment. I rate them 100 percent in the negative !!!!! I don't even want my dead body brought here! Miscommunication and neglected to bring meds when needed. Didnt even have her antibiotic drip turned on for 4 hours after her procedure. Uneducated staff or maybe just non-careing. Need to reserch your doctors and staff because some are not even licenced to practice or have been stripped of them. Beware of this hospital!!!with covid going on...my mom was there for a week and not one time was there anyone in there to clean her room or restroom change her bed or wipe anything down I have pictures to prove it. My sister and I cleaned up changed her bed and gave her her baths. My mother is 80 yrs old and was totally neglected !!! Very sad!!!

I was a patient at Piedmont back in April, when I was in a very serious car accident and was taken there in an ambulance. My immediate care as decent. I had to have staples put in my head and stitches in my knee. My primary issue was that they didn't bother telling me the instructions for the care of either injury until AFTER they gave me pain medicine that knocked me out! What was the point of bothering to inform me, if you were going to ensure that there would be no possible way for me comprehend the instructions? It was a result of this clear negligence that I didn't know how to care for my knee, and it got infected, and now there is no feeling in it at all. I would never recommend this hospital, or its staff, as they are likely to cause more damage than what you started with.

My Dr was good and the after surgery care nurse Kayce was great, but the regular night nurses at Piedmont were the absolute worst I have ever experienced. I am asking my Dr. to NEVER send me there again! I had to wait 4 hours for medication. No pain meds were given after surgery, no one to help you to the bathroom. When I spilled a coke on myself, the bedding and the floor it took 2 hours for anyone to come and clean it up. No one asked if I needed anything. It was awful awful care.

After reading reviews I was skeptical, but it s the closest ER so I took the gamble. I m sure there are people that have had bad experiences but mine was completely opposite. From the time I walked in- from the security guard, help desk, admin, triage, nurses, imaging, discharge and NP- every single person was friendly, kind and caring. I have not one single negative remark about my visit- nothing but positive feedback. Thanks especially to nurse Debbie and NP Megan!!

My wife just out of this horrible place today. Please don't go there for anything. We had nurses Trying to but in iv's with no gloves on or cleaning there hands and then were RUDE when called on it. Had to stay a extra night because the hospital doctor would not release her so a reason that another doctor that was the specialist sayed she could go home. The room was NOT cleaned for 3 days. The list could go on!!!! Please take your loved one to a different hospital. I agree with other reviews this place needs to be SHUT down.

This is a top notch hospital. Don't listen to what anyone says around Charlotte about this hospital. I went in for Aortic valve replacement and an Aneurism. I received the greatest care from Dr. Barry Chan and his staff. The ICU on the cardiac ward was outstanding. Very attentive and fast to respond. Never had to ring the bell and wait for more than five seconds. These people care about you and your recovery. The regular cardiac ward was just as good. So if anyone tells you that this hospital isn't up to par in the latest care, they are lying.

Not a good hospital, was absolutely disappointed in every way. Only Good thing there were the nurse's but the price was paid with Horrible doctors...don't recommend.
Why is this place not shut down.

Let me start off by saying the attending nurse and doctor provided great care to my son 12/17/18. unfortunately there are some things that took me off guard. The ER waiting area was quite unsanitary and the restrooms had trash all over them. I do understand that its busy and that they have a lot of people in and out but they should have staff checking on things like that. moving on my sons information was entered incorrectly at the time of arrival the receptionist never verified the name provided and just guessed on the spelling so when it came down to discharge we had to correct everything. The admittance nurse station is cramped and has way too many people walking around such a small area. The lady that was changing shifts for reception almost slammed the door in my sons face due to the fact that she was being careless, then she proceeded to walk in between the nurse and i while that are trying to get vitals from my son which was pretty rude and disrespectful. Once they finally took my son back to have a doctor look at his arm we had to sit in the hallway with other patients waiting to be seen since they ad no rooms available. patient information was being reviewed by discharge in the hallway( address,SS# ,etc.). i had to request to sit back in the waiting area because of how uncomfortable it was to sit in that hallway with my 6 year old and my 5 year old who i had to carry while he slept in the hallway. lastly once we had x-rays done and the doctor reviewed them my son had to get a splint for his fracture, initially i was told we would get a room so they could get the splint on yet we ended up in the same hallway near the sink as my son had a splint put on his arm since they needed a source of water. I'm super disappointed at this facility and will not seek care here for my family. i hope that someone does take this and change the errors not just because of a complaint but because you have so many people in the area that do visit this facility and should have to see what we saw.

I had a relative in their care who was extremely I'll. Her room was unbearably hot, and she was refused fruits when asked more than once. Not sure if they're short of staff or what the issue is but basic needs should be met for every patient. Her stay there was very ghetto.

My experiences with Piedmont have been good. The ER staff was responsive and professional on both occasions. Nursing staff was knowledgeable and provided compassionate care for my mom. I m grateful for their service.
