Pick n pay Review

Awesome place to shop, including the all new menu. Staff are very friendly and approachable. Store is kept nice and clean and shelves are reasonably packed.

I would like to yo thank Gonda at customer service for excellent service. She went out of her way to source a set of dinner plates for me and even picked them up from N1 City on her way to work, so that I could collect them from the Waterfront store. When I needed a few more plates she phone around and had them delivered to me. She took initiative, was friendly and most helpful. Thank you Gonda you are an asset to Pick a Pay.

It is a nice Pick&Pay, but there is often quite a wait at the tellers. I don't think I have ever seen half the tills manned.

Did a quick shop.....and the wine and liquor store is fully stocked.....for those who need to stock up .........

The shopping trolleys are usually dirty

I was just harassed and accused of stealing at the V & A Waterfront store. I just walked in to look at their clothing and walked out. I was accused by security of stealing. I was followed and blocked by this security guard from leaving the Waterfront until my husband came to help me out. Never will I ever support any Pick N Pay store again and I just did my monthly grocery shopping there yesterday. Disgusted and Disappointed

It s a nice big store but some of the staff are really rude. Rudest was the cashier Amiena Koff she was clearly having a bad day. No manners at all. Also I bought three pizzas which were buy 3 get the cheapest free and they charged me for all 3. Didn t check my bill till I got home which is my fault but the check outs should be updated with the offers.

Always well stocked. Fast at till points, it's too be expected because of the location. Only slow experience is during lunch time as everyone flocks the store.

As I arrive at the parking bay with my family and my two little boys, a trolley porter busy pushing trolley back to the store he refuses to give me one but ask me to walk all the way to the store. Further more, he stoped me to obtain an trolley cause he "assume" I wasn't going to shop at pick n pay so I'm not allow to use it. I think that is fair enough you should not occupied the trolley for other purpose than shop at the pick n pay, but who will do the grocery shppping first before shop around the rest of the center and do the grocery at last? The whole point is both store manager and trolley porter did their rule in a harsh and rude manner, therefore, as they wish : I go and shop at Woolworth.

The service was great, social distancing and other pandemic related regulations were observed. It's a fairly big store with a bit of variety, although I didn't find some of the items in the flavours I would have preferred. I found the isles and placement of products quite odd but it's not a big deal when you get used to it.

1 till open of the 7 available at express line. Really? Long q.

Clean and efficient. Water was out of stock, cool coffee shop and sushi bar inside.

The worst service I have experienced in a store of this nature. A store I will not be shopping at again.

Better than most PnP's with a selection of good deli foods

Just the place to get everything you need and they very consistent with their products never running out of stock. Great job

Lack in customer services, regarding answering calls about enquiries.

This is definitely the best PNP I have ever been to. It is also the largest one I've seen. There's a wide variety of products. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. There's a an employee present at every check out. Do your shopping here and if the bill is over a certain amount you can get free parking for a few hours.

Good business area with lots of tourists but parking fees sucks

Situated on the lower level right by the parking lot, this store has a very big area. It tends to be cheap but many of the items are extremely sugary or otherwise unhealthy or poor in quality. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the store is in clean condition.

Worst service PnP and head office do nothing about it

The shelves are empty and nobody around to serve you, if you ask someone for help they told you it's not there department they can't help you, i was actually very upset and shop looks so dirty, i just decided to go, it wasn't a nice experience

I found the store to be grungy, overcrowded, with poor selection.

Slightly dirty but if you can look past that you'll find everything you need.

Dirty coffee shop! Seems there is need for someone to make sure it stays tidy regularly!

One of the better branches in Cape town, they always have fresh produce and the isles are well organised and stocked.

Good store, convenient but you never feel like the staff on the floor have time for customers. They're visible but going about their own business. Several times I've battled getting someone to help on the floor. I was eventually assisted by a member of the cleaning staff

Wow queues are insanely long and tills are unmanned. We read the bad reviews and thought we would give them a try. This shop is not being managed properly.

Had some plumbing flooding which made it unpleasant

I like the place due to the variety and space.
This time however I discovered Pork Chops amongst the halaal cold meats. Very disappointing.
We left there not purchasing much and instead went to a competitor.

Excellent supermarket! Take advantage of South African wines at a good price

Gosh!! I had to place the sanitizer tissue over my nose when walking past the butcher counter. The odour is repugnant. I have never bought meat here.
For over 5 months the free 90 minutes parking is not working. Management blames the Waterfront. In turn the Waterfront blames PnP. I gave up and shop elsewhere

A great go to for those last minute groceries after a day of posh shopping in the V&A Mall boutiques. Its has a great selection, the aisles are nice and wide, staff efficient and tillls are relatively quick. I was able to pay for 8 items of shopping at the deli till avoiding the long ques.

The same useless picknpay experience. Do yourself a favour and go next door to woolies

Christmas time. Wanted to bake mince pies, but they don t even have have fruit mince in the store s range. Flagship store??

I have always had good service and went out of my way to rather shop here. On 2 Feb 2019, at 18:30, we were at till no 8. We received very unfriendly service. We were not asked if we have a PNP smart shopper. The lady at the till as well as the packing lady kept talking to each other and ignoring question. I also had to pack my own trolley while also making sure everything was scanned and paying. It is very unpleasant and unnecessary.

Bought a tray of 30 eggs and the tray had 11 cracked eggs, it's storming outside today and I'm way too lazy to send these back. The only reason I went there was because Woolworth's was also open in the same building.

One of the biggest and best Pick n Pays I know in Cape Town. It has a hot food buffet as well as a cold food one (salad and cakes). Not to mention the bakery, burger place, ticketing office (bus, air ticket, concerts).
It is a bit hidden, on the parking level. Unfortunately it too crowded some times and some days, that is why 4 and not 5 stars.

Love the size of the store and the variety it has to offer

Pick and Pay VA exists in another time and place than most places in South Africa. Even the clocks in store cant agree on a time.

Pick n Pay is located on the fabulous Waterfront recreation area in Cap Town frequented by a cosmopolitan population with colorful clothing that is not possible to see in Europe.

Most disgusting thing that has ever happened to me , bought garlic rolls today and found a eyelash or eyebrow hair inside of it , tf? How unhygienic definitely not leaving it like this!!!! Also how can you guys be so unhygienic when it's a top pic n pay for tourists? Its disgusting and I'm so disappointed,I expected better since its the main store that main people and tourists run to.

No matter what time of the day I go here (which is every week) there is always the longest queue to get to the front cashiers and pay. The express till always only has one or two cashiers, so that line goes very slowly. Then two other queues also take ages - don't know why they always have so few cashiers at each till at a time. Other than that, it's a nice big Pick n Pay with variety.

Always a pleasure shopping at this Branch in Waterfront.

Love this store. I get every bit of merchandise under one ckean n friendly roof.

Staff are poorly trained - if at all. I had a very bad experience today at this Pick n Pay today when I asked a staff member if there was nobody else to assist her at the coffee station. This was her answer: "can't you see that I'm busy?" She said it to the wrong person. I made sure her manager was made aware of her rude behaviour.

Never enough tellers at the check out counters... Always a long wait. Other than that it's a great store..

Wonderful shopping store. Very big & they've got all you need. The store is very neat & clean.
