Reasonably priced, a great day out for all ages, plenty to see and do, don't use the carpark at Totnes, the fees are astronomical and there were evidence in 3 different parking slots that car windows had been smashed, if you are going to do this trip then park at the other station which is Buckfastleigh, it was safe and it was free.

The trains are not running but Buckfastleigh station is open and well worth visiting. A one way trail takes you round the site with the added bonus of being able to walk round the engine shed - a rare opportunity these days but allowable with no trains. The former signal box is open to pull a few leavers and learn the art of signalling. All the staff were friendly and helpful and don't forget to make a donation in lieu of an entrance charge.

Pretty little places. Nice photo opportunity for railway enthusiast. Good reasonably priced tea shop, with great gift shop and model railway goods. Looking forward to coming back for Steam with Santa.

Expensive but these things are expensive to run and maintain, enjoyed the trip from Totnes to Buckfastleigh on an old carriage, but disappointed on the return journey the old carriages were reserved for a shearings group so had to sit in a modern carriage. We had the tickets where you saw the butterfly and otter sanctuary which was pretty good and the rare breeds farm which is full of animals from common breeds but the baby goats were amazing, my kids loved petting them in their enclosure.

A thoroughly enjoyable day out if you enjoy the sight, smells and sounds of a bygone age. Diesel or steam, the engines never fail to charm and the rolling stock is beautiful.
The whole experience is a tribute to the volunteers who keep this little gem running - long may they continue to do so.

Beautiful place to go. I take the dogs down to the River walk often and always include the railway in my tour of South Devon when visitors come to stay. Very idyllic and has a lovely old-timey feel as the trains and the station itself has been beautifully maintained.

Great day out with grandchildren, special railway celebration day. Loads of steam trains running, free parking and a tent with a magician and free face painting.
Well done to the people who organised and run it.
Also thanks should go to all the RAF Cadets who helped organise the parking on the ground that day.
We had a lovely time.

Love this place, visit often.. the train ride is lovely, the locos and rolling stock are really well restored. We can often be found in the cafe or the model shop, definately an all weather attraction, one of my favourite places to be. I look forward to the day I can ride thru to Ashburton

This was a brillant afternoon. Not to expensive parking was easy enough and free . Your ticket will only include train travel but does give you full access all day travel. There are also other attractions in the same area and also down the line unfortunately I did not have enough time to look at. We got stuck in traffic on the M5 so make sure you leave enough time for travel. The scenery is beautiful and the train ride is relaxing. Really do recommend this journey

Always a treat to visit! Staff are friendly, cheerful and informative! Great outing for all ages!

I do advise checking or phoning ahead of you are interested in visiting the rare breed farm or butterfly and otter farm.

Rare breeds closes for the winter, and there are limited butterflies during winter.

We booked a diesel train driving experience for my dad's 50th birthday present. The day was absolutely superb from start to finish. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate. We were able to ride on the train and stop off at places along the way whilst dad rode the train and also had a good selection of refreshments on the train. One of the best gift experiences I've ever been on. Thank you so much.
