I m completing the NEBOSH Diploma by distance learning. Best element of that package, is the pre-exam workshops (classroom) I attended the ones in Manchester for units A & B in 2018 and I can t speak more highly of the tutor Chris Jones, he was engaging, passionate about the subject and was instrumental in me passing my exams. Thank you!

In all honesty I wasn't looking forward to having to complete this course . however it was really engaging and I actually enjoyed doing it. It's full of useful information and has definitely made me more aware for my job role. It's also made me more aware of Health and Safety away from my workplace (at home / the voluntary work I do). All in all a good and worthwhile course, time consuming as there's a lot to it, but really interesting.
I studied for my NEBOSH NGC with Phoenix at the Holiday Inn in Manchester and found the venue, trainer and materials to be excellent.
The support throughout my studies was superb with the tutor happy to receive and reply to emails in the evening in readiness for the next day of the course.
It is clear to see why so many of the other delegates on the course went on to study other qualifications with Phoenix.
The team had a brilliant experience. From start to finish the training and subsequent testing that Phoenix provided was stellar and the feedback was nothing less than superb. Great premises, personable informative trainers and fantastic food with the best part being that all of my staff passed with ease! We'll be using Phoenix again.
Completed the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate as an in class course. Excellent course with a very dedicated and patient instructor. Don't be under any illusions, this is a tough course with a very stringent examination process which requires dedication and the kind of focused instruction that Phoenix provided. I highly recommend Phoenix, I had a very positive experience and will definitely use them again in the future.
Studied through Phoenix for a NEBOSH Construction Cert through distance learning. Everything was fine at the start and completed my exams in December 2019. Nebosh sent me my results notification on 18 Feb 20. As of today (05 Sep 20) I still have not received my certificates!
I moved address during lockdown and emailed their training administrator immediately to have them sent to a new address. This was never updated, and when the certificates were finally sent out (about 4 months after they received them!) they were sent to my old address. After a number of phone calls and numerous emails I eventually had to drive to the Post Office depot to check if they were still there. The staff at the post office assured me they had been returned 8 weeks earlier as the driver realised no-one now lived at that address. After that Phoenix told me they had been lost by Royal Mail.
Now, I'm being told I have to wait for Royal Mail to pay an insurance claim before they will even bother to order my replacements!!! when I asked why I had to wait I received a snobby email from their training administrator saying 'Unfortunately this is just our process so yes we have to wait for Royal Mail to confirm the claim.' Cheers for that! it was your mistake that you hadn't even acknowledged!
Seeing as Phoenix charges around 30% more than most other providers for the exact same course, I would have thought their customer service would have been better. They even had the cheek to ask for a review before they had sent them out! As if they knew there was going to be issues and they'd get an OK review before this one (which they would have got, but not now).
There has been little communication throughout this whole ordeal, with myself having to instigate it all. Even when you do get in touch, if you ask a question they don't like you will be ignored, just like my final email 2 days ago!
I wont be using Phoenix again for any course, nor would I recommend them!
If you want my advice, look elsewhere for distance learning.
Great experience, used them through the ELCAS system for my resettlement. I went through the NEBOSH general certificate with pheonix and passed. Dave Hoey who was our instructor was an absolute legend and he made a tough course fun and easier to pass! I hope to do a few more courses with Pheonix and also with Dave, in the future!
I attended IOSH Managing Safely Training. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the training was moved to blended from classroom version. I don't think it has any impact on the training quality. The tutor was available during the training days, responding to all emails in timely matter. He had good knowledge of the matter. I would like to mention Jenny - she was my point of contact from the moment I signed up for the course until the time I knew I passed and would get my certificate. Jenny was very helpful, efficient, responded to all my queries and was always very kind, regardless how many messages I sent her.
I have recently completed a Nebosh Health & Safety Course through Phoenix at the Holiday inn venue. Although the course was delivered by a Nigerian tutor named Fela Ajayi, which I couldn't understand a word of his english, the coursework booklet and handouts were ok. The tutor was only reading the book during the the course. ( nothing else ). The course slides did not flow with the coursework book meaning constant shuffling of pages, trying to catch up with the tutor poor reading. Important legislation updates missing from the coursework booklet and the explanation simply did not exist. Tutors slides was missing from the course book, which meant many student taking photographs of the screen to be used for homework. I will not be using Phoenix again.
This has to be one of the worst online companies I have ever dealt with, the customer service is diabolical, they couldn t give a toss. I complained about a product I bought from them and got an e mail back that must of been written by someone, aged 12 year old. It was full of sarcasm, making out it was my fault because I had only spoke to two people about my problem,HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE DO THEY EXPECT ME TO CONTACT FOR HELP.
MY MESSAGE IS SIMPLE.... DO NOT BUY A COURSE FROM THESE AMATEUR COWBOYS
This is a company I would have no hesitation in recommending the professionalism and enthusiasim is second to non. The breadth of knowledge and training methods are a vital factor but more than that the people behind this company have a genuine passion for their work and are always willing to put in that extra effort to help. A mixed bag for me. Whilst I m sure classroom-based training benefitted me overall, I wasn t overly keen on the guy doing the training. Although Mark clearly knew his stuff, his sense of humour was borderline offensive. He clearly had issues with those he saw as snowflakes and didn t hold back on what he thought... even though it wasn t relevant or his opinion asked for. I get he was ex-forces and that s how it s done in the military, but he needs to remember that civvy street is a very different place. I wasn t the only one on the course to feel this way, but we all just put up with it. On the plus side, everyone I dealt with in the office was professional and quick to respond, plus I passed first time which was the whole point!
Great course provider. I used them for certificate and diploma level. Julie Riggs,Ian ,Nick very helpful and very caring. They are always trying to improve their service and always offer great value for money. They are always there to help you and listen to you. They are on the top of their game and it is being privilege to know them.
I attended a SSSTS course with Phoenix Health and Safety, Jeremy was a great trainer and showed his enthusiasm for Health and Safety in his training style and kept the course enjoyable and interesting. Would like to do my NEBOSH Construction Certificate in the future, and will be using Phoenix as my course provider.
avoid online course, I did iosh, poorly constructed, its like reading blunt text and then they ask you to answer exactly how they written it, test itself is a rubbish, there is a timer but no countdown on how many questions you've done, no audio support, no video(ok 4 animated muted clips), honestly, try do it in training facilities, don't waste your nerves, in the end what can you practically learn from sitting on your ass at home reading something you won't remember tomorrow.
A well setup and administered course. The Joining Instructions were comprehensive, the training location well set up and administered and the tutor was outstanding. The post course support had been good along with effective communication throughout. I definitely recommend Phoenix.
I recently attended (9th/10th May-16) an SSSTS course with Phoenix Health & Safety at the Holiday Inn - London (West) . The whole experience from booking through to course completion was without fault. All of my questions at the time of booking were dealt with promptly and professionally by the customer service team.
A big thank you to the trainer (Johan) who made the course informative and fun to be a part of.
I have just completed my IOSH Managing safely online course. The course material and course was excellent and easy to understand.I needed assistance twice and was lucky to get help both times from Jenny Ralphs always willing to help and very supportive . Thank you Phoenix Health & Safety for a excellent course experience.
Great communication, friendly staff and a fantastic assortment of courses and services available. I have tried other companies but Phoenix were great and supported me every step of the way with my needs. I would thoroughly recommend these guys every time.
just finished IOSH Managing Safely online course, excellent service, and great people to deal with highly recommended. The course is easy to access and navigate around and has given me a great incentive to start a career in Health & Safety, thanks again everyone at Phoenix
We highly recommend Phoenix Health & Safety to any business. They came recommended from a third party and did not disappoint. The staff are highly experienced and professional. By the end of our first year we had achieved goals that had once seemed impossible. It was a first class service from start to finish. Their efficient and professional attitude was apparent at all times, always available at the end of the phone whenever we have needed their help or advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending Phoenix Health & Safety Consultants
ok i didn't want to write a bad review but online course definitely isn't worth it, too much unnecessary information, test is another story, you got 30 questions and 45 min which is reasonable but its like a quizz game, where you have to put right words in sentences ridiculous.
I have recently undertaken the NGC Course with Phoenix via distance learning. As a cohort we have all kept in touch. The tutor Rachel was particularly good, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour.
As a cohort we were told that we would receive a textbook to support learning as no attendee wanted to print the 400-page online version. Despite a company representative agreeing to this they have since stated that was a miscommunication error and no textbook would be sent out. As you can imagine this was not what we were expecting.
It also appears that a number of the cohort have been charged vastly different fees for the course. A number of the cohort were on the classroom course which was cancelled due to COVID-19 and were moved without much option to the Distance Learning option with no reduction in cost!
It s a shame that Phoenix have treated us all in this way. I fully intended to book more courses which I discussed with the tutor on a 1-2-1 basis. However, as they say once bitten twice shy!
There are many other providers out there that stick to their commitments to their students and keep in touch! Despite completing the course more than 8 weeks ago and submitting the NGC2 Project nearly 3 weeks ago there has been no contact on exam dates with exception of a post on Facebook.
I would not recommend Phoenix for NEBOSH qualifications.
