Definitely worth a visit if you're in Orange. We sat on the patio with beautiful views. We went for the $10 wine tasting and weren't disappointed. The staff were really friendly, well-informed and welcoming.

Went to a few wineries whilst in Orange and I must say this is the best one in Orange. The exterior is a mixture between modern man-made and very relaxing natural beauty. The staff are super prompt and friendly on arrival and the exterior is very spacious with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. We were sat right next to the fireplace which was a bonus for me as I am very prone to the cold. We practically tried all the wines that were on the list for tasting with no extra cost. I returned a few days later to pick up another 6 bottles of wines. Definitely recommend going here if you want to try/buy some wine.

Popped in this afternoon for a tasting the girl who showed us the wines was absolutely lovely and so helpful. An Orange local who obviously knew her stuff. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting!

Really nice tasting experience! we called ahead as we were 30mins late for our booking and they happily looked after us. Pip looked after us and treated us to a great selection of wines including some not usually on the tasting list. Although we didn't have the cheese plate as we had come straight from lunch it looked delicious.

Service and attention to customers needs to be improved! Booked for 2 to have a tasting, and were shown to our table and left to wait. Server repeatedly forgot where we were up to with the tasting and mixed our preference up with another table. Didn't receive the cheese which is included with the tasting and no apologiesmade while they asked for the tasting fee payment. The wines are not good enough to make up for the poor experience. Won't be back

The wine tasted pleasant. Unfortunately the service felt more impersonable and rushed than other wineries in the area. The cheese/charcuterie board might have been a bit overpriced too, but it's a great concept.

2 years ago we came and had a great time. Now, not so much. I give this place 2 stars as the location and buildings here are fantastic.

However, if you re going to do table tasting as a wine yard, make sure you have enough staff to handle the required work load. The wines didn t impress us either and it all topped off with the olives taking an hour before hitting our table...

There are by far better places to enjoy in Orange for example Patina!!

I was in town a few months ago visiting dear friends of mine. My girlfriend kindly introduced me to this fabulous venue. I state fabulous because I was stunned by the gorgeous gardens on exiting the car. I loved the stone walkway, the hedges and the greenery. I can only imagine just how stunning everything is if you were to have a party here at night time with the lights on... it's that kind of place.

The building itself is just lovely. Fireplace, wooden tables with configurations to sit couples through to larger groups and these fantastic table settings for tastings; everything was very well-thought out. And the scent in the air was of roasted chicken and olives that day (with a touch of rosemary... you have no idea just how tantalising that smell can be).

I thought we were going in for a tasting, and I do love my vino (white, red, bubbles, dessert, whereas my girlfriend is more a whites and bubbles lassie). Needless to say, we ended up staying for a light meal (because their menu is to die for) and an extra glass or two of wine. Don't shame us; neither of us were driving!

Absolutely fantastic service. As I'm from Queensland, you bet I also ordered a case of wine delivered (who wouldn't! Absolute madness) and I loved the kind suggestion I received at both the table and seconded at the counter from a different staff member I could buy a cold bottle or two from the fridge to take back on my journey (I was temporarily working in the area).

The staff here at Philip Shaw were incredibly knowledgeable, gave great advice (including allowances for dietary considerations for our table), and stunned me into gaping fish mode at their thoughtful suggestions for shipping and takeaways for a travelling worker. I simply cannot thank Philip Shaw enough. I've already ordered another case for gifts. Brilliant. And the Character Series are marvellous!

Possibly would have enjoyed the wines if the service would have been better. Ruined what could have a great experience. For a wine with such a good reputation this service is going destroy this cellar door.

We met up with some friends on the Friday before new years day. We did the whole bomb of tasting, the waiters were pretty good. looked after like sore toes as not many present. Another Bomb for Pizza Cappers as they delivered our Pizza to site. Great day out in Orange.

We visited PS on a wine tasting trip to Orange. The venue is beautiful. We were served 4 wines to taste unfortunately the service was very slow and the wait staff gave us little to no information about the wines, the winery or history and we waited quite a long time in between each wine we tasted. As a group we bought over $300 of wine but they did no offer to waive the $10 tasting fee p.p which we thought was quite rude. Every winery in Orange (and Australia) normally does that as a good will gesture. We asked why we still had to pay it and they said its because of their "great service".

Overall the wine and the venue is great, just disappointed with the customer service.

We visited Philip Shaw a few weekends ago as a group of 4 - whilst the winery itself is beautiful, the service was quite lacking. We had to wait quite a bit upon arrival and they forgot about the tasting plates which we had ordered. Nonetheless, the lady who poured our wines was very informative and was eager to answer our questions. The wines themselves are good, but not the best in the area.

Lovely experience with excellent wine descriptions, views to the vineyard and pairing of local delicacies-Brie cheese, hazelnuts, jamon and Apple with a beautiful wine flight. Well done team Phillip Shaw!

This place is a must see if you go to orange. Sit down for a wine tasting experience where the excellent staff will run you through what they have whilst the winery dogs roam around. 100% top of the list place to go in Orange.

Great wines but we had such an awful experience at this winery. The server dropped wine on many of us and didnt really give us much detail about the wines.

As a group who had paid upfront for a tour we were told all tasting were included by our driver. I have no issue paying for a tasting on top of this but it was the way we were told about it that bothered me. We didnt know it wasnt included, and as someone who works in customer service and management, there are ways to deal with these situations in a more professional friendly manner. Even when we did make payment, the comments and manner were rude and unprofessional.

Had the same experience as Johan. We came here two years ago and had a lovely time. Came today and it was awful. We were initially seated. Waited patiently. Then had a rude staff member say that we couldn t be accommodated (a party of 5) for a tasting because they were too busy, and were asked to leave. Really disappointing.

Nice wines and lots of selections and varieties of wine available for all palates and budgets. Great building with exposed brick walls and huge floor to ceiling windows meets cute surrounding grounds and sets the scene for the wines that will be tasted. Something for everyone!

A really beautiful selection of wines and nice tasting platter too. The only downside was that the gentleman presenting our wine tasting poured all four glasses at once, explained what one of them was, ran off, and never returned. We had to ask another staff member what we were drinking so that we could buy a bottle of it. This seemed to be the experience of a few other tasters who were looking around the room confused for a good 45 minutes wondering what they were drinking. This can probably be put down to the influx of patrons that they were experiencing, but all the same it would have been nice to have the experience that we paid for.

Really disappointed and embarrassed that we d talked the place up and taken our interstate visitors there. The cheese plate was pretty disappointing for the price and the charcuterie plate was nice but also very overpriced, esp as we had to wait at least half an hour for that as they had run out of bread! Being told we had to pay for the plates before we ordered was also a bit off. Average service to boot!
Nice setting, that s about it, unfortunately!
Average all round!

Two ratings: For service and experience of the wine tasting. Was served promptly by a young man who's recently come back from the US and was very engaging to speak with about the wines. He gave us the low down of the wines, from the differences between them to the impact that the 2019 fires had on the grapes. He gets 5 stars.

Wine and pricing: 2.5 stars. Wine itself wasn't to my liking, but that's individual to each person, every one I tried except the sparkling had a sharpness to it that I didn't prefer- a couple may have been tastier with more aeration.
What I didn't like was that the tasting price was not removed after buying several wines in our group- this is pretty standard practice for places with tasting fees and that the cheese plate didn't include a bit more food, particularly crackers, which are made in house. Did love that the cheese plate is all local produce and all delicious.

We had wonderful wine tasting experience. The people were friendly and the set up is great. We were seated and each had a cheese board to enjoy while we tasted the wines. We didn t feel rushed or pressured to buy anything (we ended up with a few bottles).

Beautiful location, some delicious reds to be had here however their whites were probably not quite as good.

Very busy and service was a bit slow but perhaps to be expected for a long weekend.

Not the cheapest, but overall a great experience.

Being a Philip Shaw fan I was excited to take my friends for a tasting, I was so disappointed in the aggression we faced when leaving over a minor misunderstanding over payment for the tasting. I will not ever recommend Philip Shaw again or purchase their wines. All other wineries on our tour were amazing ! I would not recommend this winery to anyone absolute disgrace

A beautiful setting for a wine tasting. The grounds and main building are spectacular, the interiors well presented. We were a group of nearly 20 attending for a tasting (pre-booked) and were lucky enough to be hosted by Nick. He was knowledgeable, warm, engaging and handled our big group with ease.

With the extensive range of wines offered for tasting and purchase, all of our group found something to like. There are some extremely high quality wines available to try, most of which are very reasonably priced given their quality. The value proposition is particularly impressive if you sign up for the wine club membership. Of course, there are also some expensive wines on offer and they are well worth sampling if you are given the opportunity. Personally, I found each of the Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay from the Character series to be excellent examples of cool climate whites at a very affordable price point.

As one of the bigger, better equipped wineries in the Orange region, this venue comes with a level of professionalism not on display in many of the other wineries we visited on our tour. It is a must visit when in the area, particularly if travelling in a group.

Was really looking forward to our tasting at Philip Shaw but was left a tad disappointed with our experience. The venue is absolutely stunning with a beautiful view and log fire. The lady pouring our wines was very nice.

Unfortunately we found that the wines wernt anything special considering the price. Surprisingly they still charged a tasting fee even if you make a bottle purchase (the other wineries waived this if we made a purchase).

We were also disappointed to find that you can purchase Philip Shaw wines at Dan Murphys in Orange for approx $5 cheaper per bottle. I would hope that when buying a bottle at the cellar door you are getting the best price - i would not expect Dan Murphys to be cheaper.... sorry....

The wine is fantastic, the service is satisfactory and the $10 tasting fee is beyond ridiculous. After buying hundreds or dollars of wine our group is SLAPPED with a fee and told it is due to good service. We sat in the back room with no heating on one of the coldest days of the year. Many other great options in Orange for fantastic wines.

Beautiful location! Gorgeous building and gardens! Light lunch options were warmed olives, charcuterie or cheese boards - all were nicely presented albeit slightly expensive ($35 for meats, $28 for cheese). We were presented with our food and wine which was immediately followed by an eftpos machine, before we had even had a chance to touch anything. I found it quite rude, especially as this practice did not occur for any of the other patrons.

Ahh...wines are ok, service really bad. We were put in the back room on the coldest day of the year with no heating with stuff falling off the roof.
We tasted like 4-5 wines and were charged $10 tasting fee which was non redeemable.
Ohh and the wines are more expensive than in Dan Murphys....seriously?

2 stars come from the cellar door experience I had. Rude staff who rushed us to a tasting despite the fact we had asked if they did lunch ( I read it in a review here- FYI they don't do lunch and wood fired pizzas- a cheeseboard to accompany wines only).
Decided to do a wine tasting anyway, and the woman was obnoxious and judgmental, I asked to see the bottle and her comment was "obviously not much stimulating conversation at this table then!" before walking off. Wouldn't recommend if you are tasting in the area. Recommend De Salis wines for a cellar door tasting, a much better experience- kind, casual, great service and stories compared to here!

Absolutely terrible customer service from the guy who appeared to be the cellar door manager. He is bringing this place down. We left because of this poor customer service. We went to Brangayne instead which was so much better. Much better customer service, great wines. Bought a case. Thank you Phillip Shaw...your loss is our gain

Terrible tasting experience at PSW.

Terrible tasting experience at PSW.
Wines were OK but the service was shocking, the two gentleman that were serving had no interest in telling us anything about the wine, one of them poured the first glass, left and never came back, we were waiting for the second one for 20 min, we got no water and the personal "cheese platter" was half a cracker and the tiniest slice of cheese. What a waste of money but most importantly precious time.
We were sitting sharing a table with a family and kids. no social distancing whatsoever!
Luckily we visited the much nicer Strawhouse Winery after.

Beautiful cellar door with an interesting combination of new architecture and old exposed stone, and beautiful grounds surrounding. Lovely fire place to keep us warm on a cold afternoon. Very expansive tasting with a huge range of wines. Would have loved to try some food but we were there too late in the afternoon and the kitchen had closed.

My favourite part was their bottle labels. The man running our tasting told me they were designed by a homeless woman in Melbourne, and I love that they are supporting her.

Very disappointing ! Brought family from overseas for a wine tasting experience . Very cold reception especially from the lady working on the 19th May 2019 . Was embarrassed when she wanted to charge for cheese platter before being served . There are better places around . This place is overrated . Misinformation about the charges . I did not want to ask just paid and got the hell out of there !!! PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER ALTERNATIVES
