I have been working with the Property Management Team for over 15 years and have found the Property Management Team to be very helpful and knowledgeable in their field and i have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a great experience leasing out my property. The Property Management Staff & administration staff were very helpful and friendly. They have located great tenants would recommend them to any other property investors.
We had Phil McMahon Real Estate managing our rental property. The communication during that time was good and the service as per expected. When the tenancy finished and the tenant caused damage we wanted to take that tenant to the tribunal and recover our losses. Sadly the attitude from Phil McMahon was one of "Too hard" "Not our problem" this is disappointing as we had paid the business a lot of money during their time as property managers and when the landlord needed the property manager to come in and help they were no where to be seen. Very disappointing.
Phil is incredibly rude, and his staff are even worse! We have tried many times to try and contact Phil regarding ongoing issues, to no avail. DO NOT use Phil McMahon, i promise you will regret it.
I was a tenant in a property managed by Phil McMahon. In all of the time that I was there I was a model tenant yet my requests for maintenance etc were ignored. I improved the property for them. We were advised that the landlord was not renewing the lease and when finding a suitable home there was absolutely no room for negotiation regarding breaking the lease by 3 odd weeks. Their staff changed constantly and each property manager appeared to be as lazy and useless as the previous one in relation to dealing with tenants. We are now with Toop and Toop and their professionalism is amazing. Never again Phil McMahon. I would rather live in a tent. I have a disabled daughter and that all happened after we were advised when we first viewed the property that there would be no time restrictions and we would be able to stay as long as we like. I am annoyed that I had to give them 1 star. They didnt even deserve that PS now I read that the sales division has gone into liquidation. Has the whole company been grossly mismanaged? Yet I still see a very fancy mercedes in the parking spot. My suggestion is to beware...
having dealt with a few property management companies in my time. i was overwhelmed with the Phil Mc Mahon real estate team. from the receptionist to the property managers. thank you for all for your professional service. i would vote you 10 stars if i could.
What a joke of an organisation!!...if I could of given a zero star rating I would have! They don't return phone calls, don't reply to emails! It's taken 11 months to resolve a bond dispute...with still no outcome! They do exit inspections weeks after you have exited the property...then turn around and try and charge you for not maintaining the property i.e. gardens! The staff turn over makes it impossible to communicate any problems or issues that arise. My suggestion is if you are looking for a place to rent down the Bay...Buy a swag, make a fire and sleep on the beach.
Front desk staff are certainly not welcoming and helpful. I was left standing and waiting at the front desk, despite having an appointment to pick up documents. Front desk staff could benefit through some training in being friendly and how to treat clients and most important of all do not judge your clients, i.e. the book by the cover. This also applies to some of the sales staff.
Recently purchased a property through Linda Hocking. We looked at plenty of houses and dealt with plenty of agents, and she and her team were by far the best we dealt with.
Based on my 2 and a half years of being a tennant.
Absolutely useless. If I could give them a negative 5 star rating I would. My property manager has absolutely zero communication skills and every time we call the office, she's conveniently unavailable.. and do you think we could get a call back? Hah! Don't be silly.
We contacted them about a roller door and front door handle that was seized closed because of the salty Henley Beach air and it took them a year for the roller door and about 3 months for the door handle.
We had an inspection at the end of January 2018 and informed her of an oven that doesn't work. When we got a copy of the inspection report, all that had been documented was a fly screen with a small whole (not made by us) and about how the kitchen bench needed wiping because there was bread crumbs on it.. we ate toast for breakfast.
It has now come to the 3 month mark and we still don't have an oven. We contacted the agent over those 3 months with 4 separate emails (in which her assistant was also Cc'd) and 3 separate phone calls asking to speak with her. Surprise surprise, she didn't get back to us.
We have roller shutters that are seized closed due to salty air. We have had them that way for the entire 2.5 years we've been here. Agent has been contacted more than a dozen times regarding this and clearly doesn't care. Because we've only ever had a guy come out and spend 2 hours working on them, only to tell me exactly what I told him the issue was.
The first time I ever called the agent about the roller shutters, she wasn't available, but did call me back 5 minutes before they closed on a Friday. I told her I wasn't happy with her communication and her excuse was "I'm very busy, I manage so many properties".
Trying to get a reply regarding lease extensions and such is close to impossible also. The agent also blatantly told me that my partner and I were responsible for us not getting the garage door fixed after a year because we "don't answer our phones". Well if she's bother to call us back, ever, we'd answer or atleast call back, I can assure you.
Sent the agent an email telling her how disappointed we are over her absolutely non-existent communication skills and that in order to be compensated for not having an oven for 3 months, I will be contacting the ombudsmen and making a formal complaint with someone higher up the ranks. What do you know.. a reply. She says that she genuinely missed all of our emails (except the one threatening to take action, conveniently) and that she has contacted a plumber to look at our oven.. it's an electric oven. She didn't bother to address our lease extension enquiries in this email or even to explain how every time we call she is unavailable and doesn't call us back.
This brings me to Phil McMahon himself. I emailed Phil regard this agent who we never hear from and guess what! We haven't heard back from Phil either.
Some people may argue that the landlords may have something to do with the lack of action in regards to repairs and maintenance, however, we have contacted her assistant on two occasions when we couldn't get any response or action by the agent and within hours we have had solutions.
My next email to this business will be me advising them of the legal action being taken against them for all the above issues and, in particular, if we don't get our bond back.
I strongly advise anyone thinking of renting through Phil McMahon Real Estate to not do it. Don't put yourself through the pain, stress and anxiety caused by such a useless bunch of people.
Tenants moved in across the road leaving rubbish throughout the front of the rental house, police constantly there due to cars coming and going at all hours of the day and night, fighting and brawls, damage to the house, bins never getting empty.
After continuously contacting Phil McMahon (company) Regarding the problems nothing has been done , would you want your house being treated like this?
I was very disappointed with the way Phil McMahon looked after or lack of work they put into managing my rental property for over 3 years. The tenant did not look after the property at all, the team at Phil McMahon did not carry out routine inspections & failed to follow up on things they identified as the tenant needing to fix. It s very upsetting that you work so hard for something & it s so disrespected by people that you hire for the job. My property was neglected by property manager after property manager. I would not recommend this company.
I cannot praise Michael Domingo more, he sold the home we lease for the landlord. He communicated frequently, gave us total respect as tenants always especially during the inconvenience of opens. Michael is worth his wait in gold. I wish everything he wishes himself and more in his retirement. Thank you sincerely . Fiona and Geoff
This rating is for their property management aspects, I have no experience of their sales performance. I really would not recommend using them at all. In the five years we've had them managing our property, we've had five different managers, and only once did we get properly notified the manager had departed. The best one, Helena, left, and she was really good. I don't think they ever really kept us informed of what was going on with our property, and a number of times when we called they were unaware of information we'd provided previously.
I am a landlord but currently renting. The way my family was treated the moment we signed contract by this company was disgusting. We were given a property that was filthy, mould growing on curtains, dust/dirt everywhere etc. The oven, dishwasher and extractor fan did not work. The gate was broken and the front room flooded when it rained. The en suite shower mixer did not work also. For the 1st month of living in the property we had trades coming and going, jack hammering, painting, rendering, waterproofing, replacement of white goods etc etc. My wife runs her business from home so was severely impacted, as well we had a 1 year old baby at the time who was constantly disturbed and awoken during this. We were offered no reduction in rent and there was no communication as to what was happening. We took photos and asked for the house to be cleaned, they refused instead sent the old tenant back while we were trying to unpack. We tried to escalate the issue to senior management and they told us we could leave if we wanted. We ended up having to acquire our own cleaner with the costs finally split between us and the landlord (for some unknown reason). I would be disgusted if my 2 tenants were ever treated the way we were treated by our property manager. Lucky for us Ray White took over and they have been nothing but professional and courteous to our needs. I hope no other tenant or landlord need go through what my family encountered they turned an exciting time for us into pure devastation until another company took over.
