Perth Zoo can be a great day out for the family, or a few hours out with the kids. The yearly membership is great value for the family. Not every thing is up and going as yet, cafe or feeding shows, but the kids always love going, and have there favourite animals to see everytime.

Good day out. Parking is expensive. Works out Cheaper to catch public transport alot of the time. Food is expensive and at best okay.
Good play areas for kids and generally not many exhibits closed

What is not to be about a Zoo?

What is not to be about a Zoo?
Perth zoo has a great reputation for the treatment of all the beautiful animals.
Good cafe, plenty of toilets and picnic areas, and lots of interesting and different enclosures.
There is also a MASSIVE crocodile, dont miss him - but dont expect him to move to fast.

This was my 1st visit to Perth Zoo and my 1st impression was the Zoo was manage and kept very well. Lotsa initiative and programs are carried out by the Management. Unfortunately there were several disappointing moments.

Eg: no elephants exhibits, no lion, poor signage of who is who and where tonfind them.

Hope this little things can b improved by the Zoo Management to facilitate people in future.

Thank you for the great time

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The poor elephants are totally mistreated - they are in tiny enclosures and are forced to perform tricks like they are in the circus! It was disgusting worst zoo I have EVER been to! With any luck they will close the zoo and the animals can go to places where they will actually be looked after. I will be hauted by what I saw there.

The Perth zoo is very well maintained. The animals were all in good health.
Depending on the times you go you can see the animals doing different things. For instance, we got to watch the elephants do painting.

one of the best zoos I've ever been to. Very good selection of animals, nice layout, lots of nice spots in the shade. Great giftshop, friendly staff, and overall very clean!

I would come here again, even having already seen all the animals :)

It is a small zoo compared to others but the place is well kept and the staff is friendly. Its a wonderful place to catch up with friends and relax with kids. I have been a zoo's friend for a few years now and it's definitely worth it.

Went during the day with my 2 year old son. Was a wonderful family experience. Not too busy, the animals all looked content and there was so much to see and do. Pack a lunch and skip the lines for lunch!

I hadn't been to the zoo for many years. My husband and I visited on a Monday during July. Caught the Joondalup train to Elizabeth Quay and then caught the ferry over to South Perth. The Zoo was then just a relatively short walk away. We were lucky to see some of the animals being fed which was lovely. The lion enclosure was closed due to being upgraded which was a pity. It was a great time of the year to visit as summer can be soooooo hot. The cafe was big with lots of seating - inside and outside. There were healthy options too which was very pleasing. Overall, a very pleasant visit. So glad we went.

Nice walk with family. Verity animals.neture. rain forest is my favourite. family of 2 adult 2 kids cost 82$ for day pass. If you use the zoo parking 6$ per day. But left side close parking area only has hrs parking option. cost 2.50$per hrs.so check for board zoo parking area.

Membership per family costs 280$ for year pass. If you are visiting frequently, the membership is best . Approx 3 hrs required to go around all areas of zoo.

Great family day out that the kids really enjoyed. It was school holidays so a little busy and there were a number of attractions being renovated or waiting for new arrivals. You have to expect that at a tourist destination like a zoo. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Many of the enclosures are designed in such a way that it definitely doesn't feel like your average zoo.
Keep up the good work Perth Zoo we'll definitely be back.

Do not come here when the sun is hot and bridge. Almost animals will be hiding and you won t see anything. I came in during noon time with clear sky. Hot Like bbq, all animals were hiding. I returned to the entrance and told the staff the situation. They were very accommodating and gave me a post dated ticket to return next time when the sun is not burning hot.

The zoo is great, the air is fresh and relaxing. However, the animals there are very limited and many of them only have 1 animal for viewing. There isn't much crowd there and it's quiet and relaxing. A good place for leisure. Just lack the atmosphere of a zoo.

Over the years I have gone to the Perth Zoo a number of times. I remember that as a child I did always enjoy the zoo and hoped I would get the same from it now as I did then.
I was surprised at how much fun we all had, it was great weather the day we went and we saw majority of the animals (apart from the lions who always sleep) but the nocturnal house was cool and so was the Sun Bear - we watched the little guy being fed was very adorable.

The Perth Zoo has kept up it's high standards in my books, would recommend going if you haven't, or if you are just traveling and looking for a cool place to check out while in Perth

This rates as one of my favorite Zoo's. The animals seem happy and well cared for. A lot of thought has been given to create stimulating and comfortable enclosures for each type of animal. Very easy to follow the complementary map through the beautiful grounds with plenty of opportunity to rest and refresh or for kids to play on the provided facilities.

Great place to take your kids or enjoy on your own. Can spend hours looking at all the animals. Due to covid all the resturants are closed however they have food vans on site. Prices are reasonable.

From my first visit in the 80s until now the Perth Zoo has undergone an amazing transformation. Staff are fantastic and the animals well kept.

Little ice cream outlets around the place were excellent on a hot day!
