Outstanding zoo. Perfect size for a day. No commercial hard sell ( you can leave without passing through the gift shop if you want!) Clearly really care for their animals. Amazing husbandry and enclosures, orangutan training program is world leading, elephant gets walked daily around zoo on footpaths which is amazing to see. Just excellent all round!

Beautiful setting with many trees, lovely pathed walkways around the whole of zoo. Very well set out with many animals all in excellent enclosures that are extremely clean. Wonderful lawned area and tables for enjoying a packed lunch. Many toilet facilities, water refill stations, vending machines with snacks located all over grounds

One of the best Australian Zoos i have ever stepped into. A good variety of fauna, excellent amenities and the kids loved it. Considering we went on the Teddy Bear picnic parking was good, fee excellent.

Recommend a visit

Nice day out for the family however its a bit pricey for a large family group, $100 for 2adults and 3 kids. Food and drink prices are outrageous $3.60 for a 390ml coke. no need to charge so much for items i believe.
Nearly all of the main animal's where asleep or not visible, bit of a let down for the kids, the staff should make more of an effort to get the animals feeding during the day so visitors can see more action overall experience was good.
Parking is a bit pricey around the zoo area $21.00 for 9am to 5pm and there's not to many available parking spots after say 10am as all bays are full.

This is situated 3 kilometers from the city center. My favorites are kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, wombats, and Tasmanian devils. You can also enjoy an elephant show here. This zoo is easily accessible by bus, car, train, and bike, and you can also hop aboard a ferry from Barrack Street jetty.

Excellent place to visut, with ir chithout children. Great walk and very interesting didactics. I am imoressed with the overall layout and scope of the zoo. Much thought and consideration has gone into this.
Plenty of toilets and picnic spots. Take water and a hat!
The current "Zooassic Park" display of dinosaurs is also impressive.

Nice small zoo but too expensive: entry $32, plus ypu need to pay for the parking and if you want to rent the trolley it's another $13. They seem not to take into account that people re going to buy food and drinks too. Also for many of the shows you need to pay extra. Would be better to just have one fair price because $32 per adult it's not cheap and nothing is included into that. Not even the parking.

Perth Zoo is a great place for a fun family day out. I usually just go with my partner or a friend so it's good for couples or small groups as well. There's a huge variety of animals to look at, and apart from the animals, Perth Zoo's gardens are absolutely beautiful. Facilities are well maintained and presented, staff and volunteers are friendly and informative. The only down side is that the cafe is incredibly over priced, avoid eating and drinking at the zoo if possible. You are allowed to bring a picnic basket or sausage sizzle, don't hesitate to bring food or drinks, but no alcohol. Perth Zoo is a great place to go for a day out, and I recommend it to anyone.

Amazing! Very easy to spend an entire day here. Make sure you do some of the guided tours and lectures though; very informative and informal. Take some food in with you though as it gets very expensive inside.

A great zoo. Has a wide variety of animals, the path ways are clean and easy to follow, and a lot of effort was made to make you feel like you're not in the middle of a city. From the hidden speaker to the lush green plant life, you'll forget where you are after you walk around a bit. The in park food court is nice, tastey and kid friendly. The beef burger is a bit too small. Overall a great family experience, just make sure to come early, as you can easily spend a whole day there. There are plenty of places to stop and sit, water points and vending machines, and even a free shuttle if you're tired.

A well kept zoo with good visitor facilities. As with all such establishments there are things that could be done better but costs and income have to be balanced and the welfare of the animals must come first. Our granddaughter (6) thoroughly enjoyed the day and grandpa and grandma had a good time as well.
Parking can be a pain but that is a consequence of having such an urban location where the city grew up around the zoo. All in all, access via private or public transport is pretty easy.

We hadn't been to the zoo in a while and decided to give it a go. We got there mid morning and aimed to cover as much territory as possible. It was a fairly cool day so it was easy to walk around. The grounds were well maintained, information pc to environmental and sustainable practices. I must say it's cleaner now than I remember it. My son and his friend were keen on the play area which was fine as we were intending to convert our day tickets into an annual membership. However, we had to rush off as time got away. We forgot to convert our tickets and when I did remember, I quickly emailed to ask if we could still do so, explaining our circumstances. It was about 3 weeks late which if the annual pass started on the day of our visit, would make little difference. However, despite escalating it, they said it was impossible to accommodate.

Great area and size of the zoo. A lot of walking is required so be prepared to sweat and tire. Ideal you should bring your own food as the prices inside will knock you off your feet. The elephants are a must see

We walked around the entire zoo, the place was well organised and even though most animals were asleep, there were still many things to see and places to go. Especially love the rainforest bridge.

Another place for family outings in Perth. You can bring a lunch box, there is a restaurant where you can have light meals, and an outdoor barbecue. I tried to make the animal display similar to nature, but it seems that there is a limit due to the small place.
However, all of them seem to be muma because they are very close to downtown.
The ecology of animals is supplemented by guides and videos, and it is radiated for maximum experience with animals.
When visiting this place, I would recommend that you take advantage of the hourly corner.
The corner, conducted by animal experts and zoo staff, can touch animals up close if you are lucky.
It is also a turning point where children can rest for a while. Regrettably, the restaurant area has no special features, most of which are simple Yogi streets or drinks, and fortunately there is ice cream for children.
It is recommended to prepare enough water on a hot day, and as with all tourist spots in Australia, it lacks shade, so it needs to be countered. Why don't you try to be the best dad for the kids this weekend ... In addition, it will be fun to dive into the world of concentricity for a while.

Fun day
