I own a Bridal Salon and work with many area Brides. Every Bride that I have worked with, that has used the Carnegie, has only had rave reviews.
This past weekend it was my pleasure to attend a wedding and reception there. It was quite fabulous. The Ball Room was beautiful and the food delicious. I would feel very comfortable recommending the Carnegie Hotel to anyone.

Hotel was comfortable. Bed was very soft, we settled together in the middle of the bed. Maybe it is my fault for being heavy. The night receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The daytime receptionist were not. I asked them whether they had breakfast and they said no. We could order off the menu. The receptionists acted like I had Disturbed her from some paperwork she was doing. I had to ask if she could suggest anything, which she did. She somehow forgot to mention that they had their own restaurant that served breakfast. It was not intuitive that the restaurant was open. I explained to the desk manager what had happened. She apologized and was very friendly. She also however forgot to mention their own restaurant. Perhaps they thought I was asking for Continental breakfast which is not what I asked for.

Very nostalgic building in a nice and convenient area. The rooms were clean but the beds were horrible. Felt like we were sleeping on a sink hole with pancakes for pillows. Also the air conditioning was almost non existent. It was just blowing out air but would not get cold so between getting up constantly at night due to not being comfortable and hot it was not a great stay.

I went for breakfast, and had the Southern Eggs Benedict. The food was amazing, and the wait staff was attentive, and not obnoxious. The food was priced very well. The dining area is very beautiful. I love this place and would give six stars if I could. I will be coming back.

The hotel is really fancy with excellent service. Very well organized and welcoming. The reason I gave it four stars and not five is that you feel sometimes a culture of money saving in the management. For example, coffee is removed from downstairs very early. Also, the hotel shuttle is very expensive to use from the airport and back and it is way cheaper to call WW taxi.

A fantastic overnight stay opportunity that all of our guests simply adore. Pick up and drop off to and from all of our Ghost, History, and Bigfoot Adventure tours is offered conveniently right from the front lobby of this Four Diamond Tripple A Hotel. We are proud to have this wonderful hotel as a great partner in providing travelers with great service and a great place to stay during their stay in East Tennessee.

Bad attitude throughout the spa. Lowest of quality services. Not a massage , but basically a rub in of suntan oil.(Dustin). Short non verbal facial , pedicure mediocre. Disappointing to say the least. We saved up all year for this. So sorry. Even check out seemed sad.
Hate we can t recommend.

Very nice rooms and huge bathroom! If you can swing the price it is a good place to stay. The fitness room was pretty small and there were no microwaves in the rooms as far as I know. The best thing was being connected to the track across the street.

Conference stay only, so won't comment on other amenities. This place has character, charme and is in an A condition. Excellent nice staff, despite being young (or for that reason?), passionate and responsive. Apparently well trained for their jobs! Very classy and comfy atmosphere, coherent without overdoing it. Right on the edge of the campus. Walking distance to disappointingly early closing brew pub. Catering was more than appropriate. Would be looking forward to visiting any time again. Way more representative hotel, compared to that klotz at home. Yay!

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Carnegie Hotel by enjoying the on-site spa and restaurant with our overnight stay. The presidential suite was spacious and had every modern amenity, all of which fit seamlessly into the turn of the 20th Century decor. The spa and its services were very relaxing, and the restaurant complimented the ambiance of the hotel well. Every dish we sampled was delicious. I would recommend the Carnegie Hotel, Austin Springs Spa, and the Wellington Restaurant to anyone looking for a luxury experience with their significant other.

The staff were so accommodating in lovely and the atmosphere and ambiance is perfect if you're looking for that old southern leather chairs oriental rugs fireplace clean distinguished area. People who come here generallyknow how to behave, at least those who are around where you will see them, and it's just a nice area to be in. anytime I'm back in the area I will return here

I attended an event at this hotel, but unfortunately did not have the opportunity to spend the night. Parking is convenient, and the hotel is beautiful. It has great decor and seems very classy.
The employees were nice as well.
I plan to come back in the future and spend the night while exploring the area.

I have stayed at the Carnegie several times and always enjoy the experience. The service is great, and the rooms are large and clean. The hotel and its decor are beautiful. The Carnegie will always be my first choice when staying in Johnson City.

I honestly cannot say enough about this hotel. I have stayed in fantastic hotels (Bellagio's, Ritz Carlton's, etc) and for the value, this is unprecedented. At a big name hotel this would cost 250 bucks a night minimum. I spent 135 a night, and would've been cheaper had I booked earlier. Wonderful and comfortable bed, great roomy desk which is important to me, lots of furniture for clothing, a spacious and beautiful bathroom, seperate shower and bathtub, along with him and her sinks on granite. Starbucks coffee in room, not the standard stuff. AND THE STAFF - they have done a superior job. Smart, kind, accommodating, gracious, honest, and admirable. The only "complaint" I have is that the room has a couch, and albeit it's comfortable, is out of place. No one needs a couch. A small table with 2 or 4 seats would be so much nicer.

From the limo ride from the airport to the limo ride to the airport. Seriously, nicest people, great service (bellhop, desk, cleaning, etc) , huge room was the best ever, Wellington's Restaurant was superb, the spa is a serious spa. Really a nice experience, and I've been around!

:D

If you're staying in Johnson City this is the place... Central location right across from ETSU, spacious comfortable rooms with updated amenities, no complimentary breakfast =( however, thank you offer room service from Wellington's, which is attached to the hotel and is an okay choice for dinning in JC in general. There is a cozy bar downstairs in a day spa on site... The only thing missing is a cigar lounge.
