Having not visited a zoo for many years I was pleasantly astonished by Perth Zoo. Most impressed by the garden/jungle like nature of the whole environment. All of the animals seemed contented - except the elephants - The highlights for me were the tree kangaroos, complete with very
photogenic joey, the giraffes and most of all, the Australian wetland bird enclosure which is superb. Also deeply appreciative of the absence of "zoo smell". I shall certainly return next time I am in Perth - and I shall take a picnic.

Really helpful docents and staff, great amenities- picnic areas & bbqs, cafe, free water fountains and accessible loos. Wonderful playgrounds. And of course the animals are tops too! Can get quite busy.

Beautiful grounds but could do with a little better upkeep. Also enclosures could be improved a little. For the price you pay compared to other better zoo's around Australia I personally won't be back for another 10yrs, if that. Pretty sad my family got around it in 4hrs including lunch.

A good day out with the family. Unfortunately we didn t see many animals as they were all hiding but was so happy to see some new and upgraded enclosures. The facilities were clean and the food trucks were a welcome addition.

It's a lovely day out. The day I went the was cooler and the animals came out to play, instead of us playing "Find the animals".

Another great morning at Perth Zoo. So much fun with younger ones excited to find animals amongst trees, grasses and their enclosures. Arrived at 9.30am and left at 1.15pm just as it was getting too hot.

A well laid out zoo, with a variety of animals from all over the world. You can tell the enclosures are kept clean but because this Zoo is in downtown some of the enclosures we're not as large as I would have liked to have seen (the bear enclosure). Well organized, well presented, warm staff and a great variety of animals.

I love the Perth Zoo. The work they do for conservation is amazing

BBQ facilities. Beautiful lawns 4 picnics plenty 2 see.

It is wide. It is close by 7 minutes by bus from city.

You got to try find the animals with family and they were taken good care

Great zoo! The animals are VERY well cared for and I can almost hear the lion's roar everyday!

We love this place. We have been to zoos around the world. This is a relatively small zoo, but do exhibits and animal care really well. And we love this because of the gardens.

Small enough area to cover in half a day if kids like to rush it, but plenty of animals to make it into a full day event as well - particularly with a picnic or food truck visit mid way through.

What is not to love at the zoo? The kids love it and their breeding and education programmes help ensure the ongoing survival of many species. Become a Friend of the Zoo and visit as many times as you want.

I've given Perth Zoo five star's because aesthetically it's pleasing on the eye. The animals are obviously beautifully cared for but - deep inside me I'm always uneasy with animals in confinement... The upgrades are meaningful and it's beautiful inside.

Exciting and worth a visit compared to the Sydney Zoo.

Nice but not the best zoo, it wasn't more then nice but a good place for half a day to spend with family with kids

The Zoo is clean and well care by the staff. Really enjoyed visiting there.

The zoo is looking good with a new section for the new lions and the dinosaurs now in the gardens making real life sounds and made to size

Not a great zoo fan but this is a well cared for and beautiful one with on going re habitation projects, research and a meaningful contribution to our animal family.

For a city of our size we should be very proud of our Zoo. Everytime I go I love it. Brought the kids here while on holiday back in Perth and they had a blast!

An enjoyable day out despite being hot (35c). So lucky to have such a nice zoo in Perth. The food standard was very good at both of the cafes, with a few choices at both. Overall a nice experience.

Great to be back at the zoo. Orang-utans encounter was brilliant.

We've been a few times with guests of varying ages (3 to 83+ !) and everyone always enjoys it. The cafe is pretty good, and not over-priced. Be prepared to stay all day if you want to see everything.

Great day out with the family. The food trucks on the lawn are an awesome idea and offer way more variety. So proud of our Zoo!

The zoo was wonderful, there are a lot of shady places, suprisingly there were many accessible paths for my daughter's wheelchair.

Seems a bit pricey at first, but after a day out at the Zoo you'll find it is worth it.
We spent a good 2 hours there and were very entertained.
Clean, well kept, well maintained.
Great variety of animals. Really appreciate all of the conservation efforts.

A nice zoo, but WAY over priced. $32 per adult and non-refundable $13 for a hand cart to carry small children or belongings and picnic stuff. NOT good value.

Not worth the money..take your kids to a wildlife park

Animals are almost dead. Dirty place. Too expensive for what i saw. Might as well set the animals free so they feel alive.

A healthy and affordable entertainment for the whole family.

Zoochela NYE Festival was amazing. Family had a great time but especially the kids had a blast!

It was a lovely way to spend the day. It's a small zoo and easy to walk around. The gardens were pretty and well maintained. Good variety of animals. We got there by ferry from Elizabeth Quay. Easy trip.

I brought my kids to the zoo club... it's been just as some.. they love it.

A zoo in the South Perth area,
It takes about 5 minutes on foot from the ferry landing to the entrance.
Of course there are koalas and kangaroos that are not so big,
I can feel Australian

Not as good as it used to be.. But still had fun.. I think there are a few renovations being done.

Always a fun time going to the zoo!! Food is a little on the expensive side so it's a good idea to bring pre-made sandwiches and snacks!
Especially loved the lemurs and the red panda feeding which was at around 3.15pm.

Love that this zoo is in the city. Always fun to take the ferry across to visit.

One of the best tourist attractions in Perth. A must do if visit with children. The new baby tree kangaroo was out also.

For a small zoo compared with Sydney s Taronga zoo it very good was going and very relaxed with a good selection of native and non-native animals which the kids love.
