Perth Zoo

Loved this place, especially the meerkats. Grandson had a ball too

While the majority of animal enclosures seemed adequate I was disturbed by the amount of rubbish littering open pens, algal growth on water and in mud (especially in the rhino enclosure), mould on windows (little penguins esp) and the generally low level of upkeep. Having said that, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. But I wasn't there to see staff. Was definitely not blown away.

Love the zoo, but the cafe was rubbish. No food left at 2:30.

had a awsome day at the Perth zoo about a year ago can't go wrong perfect day out when you have little ones so much for them to learn and see.

Great place the Perth Zoo is always getting better. New exhibits and great surroundings.

We have an annual family pass and we love going to the zoo, we always see something we've haven't seen previously!

Kids loved looking at all the animals but we went too late and was a bit rushed to see them all, will go earlier next time.

Great day out with the kids... Pack your own lunch as the cafe prices are $$$$. If you frequent this place it would be best to get the zoo friends deal you'll save a heap of cash in the long run.

Great chatting with the volunteers. Easy to get around with family

Wonderful range of local and international animals. Also very wheelchair accessible including free rental of wheelchairs (with a refundable deposit)- the grounds are very hilly though so if you use a wheelchair make sure you have someone energetic to push you! Also great demonstrations done by the zookeepers all throughout the day. We were especially big fans of the monkey and chimp exhibits!

Awesome zoo in Perth spend good quality time with family.

Nice when you go early on a cooler day, the animals are more active.

Perfect educational activities, for both kids and parents. We do research the day before, see and feel animals face to face, buy animal toys before exit. We read the magazine at home. Kids learn life science with great passion.

It's okay for a one time visit...just to strike it off your list of places to visit in Perth...nothing extra ordinary...33 AUD...entry fee is fine.The main highlights are the giraffes and rhinos..and the tortoise..rest is just like any other zoo.

Over priced and never see any animals. They need more one on one encounters and feeding animals.

The zoo is good. Your can t compare it to the east coast zoos but you to get closer to the animals in terms of enclosures. Loin exhibit was out of commission as they were expanding and renovating so they lost a star there. I wonder where they kept the lions as they were not relocated to another part of the zoo. Hope they aren t in cages the whole time until renovations are done. They have a great lawn area for picnics and it is a good day out for the family. The orangutan exhibit was the most modern looking and most interesting as well as the elephant. For the entry price they charge they should be able to renovate more I would think.

Great place to spend the afternoon with friends & family. Kangaroos are the best spot and you can find them freely in the zoo.

Its okay but nothing special, and it was smaller than expected. But you can have a fun day watching the animals

Fantastic day out with the family. A kookaburra stole a chicken nugget from our table but that was a hilarious highlight for our littlies.

Love the Wetlands walk through. Fave animal is however the Sunbear!

Great family day out. Packed a picnic and made a day of it visiting all the animals. Each exhibit was easily accessible with a pram as well.

Ok for small kids, but not a place to visit twice. Lots of babies in prams and some of the enclosures looked a bit rough and needed some more natural look for the animals.

The animals just look so happy there. I recommend this to people coming from anywhere! It's nice and shaded, so not to worry if you choose to go on a hot day. Lots of play and picnic areas. Food there is good nice variety! Loved it!

Young kids loved it. The newish orang utan closure was open and looks fun. We did however feel sorry for the animals that seemed to be pacing :'(

Dated review but looking at some of the more recent reviews, this place has only changed for the positive. I've been to zoos on 4 contents and this one still holds a special place for me. Visited in 2008, great and personable staff. Animals appeared well cared for.

When going to the zoo allow for the whole day to go and spend quality time at the different animal enclosures. The Zoo was clean and provided large lawn space and seating for families and groups. I would recommend getting there early if you desperately need a table, otherwise you can bring in your own table and chairs. You can also bring in your own food, which is great since the food and drink there is very expensive. They have a lot of talks and experiences throughout the day, and a playground for children. The only downsides are the other people around as they can be disruptive and children might not always be 'controlled', but if you take your time its not as stressful. Worth a visit with the family or as a couples date.

Great selection of animals. The park around the zoo is also amazing. We enjoyed walking around and the wonderful smell of different trees. We loved this zoo.

It's ok if you want to pay money just to sit and eat other wise the zoo is not like it use to be and was rather disappointed lots of people and very little animals to see

Good Zoo with some great attractions. Was great to have the dinosaurs back for the kids school holidays.

Spent a lovely day wandering around the exhibits. Shame about some of them being temporarily closed/vacant and a pity some animals were hiding very well or being very camera shy! Otherwise, an excellent day of adventures

It's a good place to see previous descendents of our species, I'm sad they didn't have any lazy land whales.

Needs more interactive elements but otherwise a good day out, especially for their special event days.

The zoo is not as good as a few years ago the vegitation and gardens are beautiful but there doesn't seem to be too many animals and the one that you can view don't seem happy and the price is rediculess for what you can actually see I know they have to feed the animals and up keep the grounds but $33 for an adult is just too high if they charged less I recon they'd get more visitors.

We love the zoo! Great for kids of all ages. Zoo Friends is a fantastic deal.

Good day out. Disappointed that the viewing area for the Giraffes is our of bounds unless you pay more.

Awesome experience to visit at the zoo. It is a great place for kids. I had been gone with my kids. they are too much enjoyed this place. It is a great picnic spot and all the animals are to be in good health. Great variety of Australian and foreign animals. Such nice staff and too clean the zoo.

Bring some time! We came a little late and had to rush through it which made us miss a lot of animals. But we saw the lazy tigers and chimps :) Nice Australian section

Nice experience and had a wonderful and good tour guide. Very friendly and warm.

Honestly the zoo was quite small. We came as a tourist and the admission fee of aus30 was way too exp. But the animals were really cute and the guides were friendly too.

Perth Zoo is beautiful, however, there are very few animals in the exhibits for the price of entry. Disappointed.

Had a really awesome day out, the facilities were great and the staff very friendly. Even though it was busy, you still got to see all the animals on display waiting times for the toilets ect were quite short. Fun for all ages I think... The dinosaur display was fascinating to.
