It was a beautiful and hot day today and so me and my mum went to Richmond Park. We came across this pretty house called Pembroke Lodge. Very nice scenery etc. They have a cafe and so we decided to have lunch there. It's very expensive but my mum had just had her Birthday, so I chose to treat her. There was a very long line of people and it was so hot. There didn't seem to be any air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year. Lots of fly's about and exposed food. However the hot lunch being served seemed less exposed, so we chose to just eat that. Once we finally got served, we were met by a staff member named Elsie (She had a name badge on). She didn't greet us. All she said was "Yes?" with a plate in her hand.
My mum asked what ingredients were in the chicken curry and how hot it was because she is very picky about her food. She is also partly deaf and wasn't wearing her hearing aid on this particular day. Elsie has an accent and so my mum was struggling to hear and understand what Elsie was saying. It was obvious my mum couldn't hear what Elsie was saying and so I repeated it to my mum. What upset and appalled me, was that Elsie seemed to be getting very impatient with my mum. She would repeat herself to my mum but was practically shouting at her. She also rolled her eyes at one point, thinking that I/we wouldn't notice. I noticed. I was shocked but I'm not comfortable with confrontation. Elsie looked flustered and wiped her sweaty forehead with her arm while waiting for my mum to decide what she wanted. Elsie had very long black hair tied back into a ponytail but wasn't wearing a hairnet which I found this to be poor hygiene.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone to eat at. Nice location and beautiful grounds but the staff and hygiene was a huge disappointment to me.

We had our wedding here and I cannot recommend this venue enough! The staff were amazing, the food was beyond fantastic and the venue itself is just breathtaking! Thank you to all the staff at Pembroke lodge for making our day so amazing and memorable, not just for my wife and I but also I for all my guests! 10/10

Lovely selection of cakes, salads, pastries, hot food. One of the best lemon cakes I've had. Good selection of drinks. Self service and an outside terrace with one of the best views for many miles. The only downside is being dive-bombed by squadrons of jackdaws. Amusing at first, then very irritating.

Staff not requiring customers to wear facecoverings when ordering from the indoor cafe. When asked about it, told to "complain to Boris Johnson" by rude staff member.

Not sure if management or staff has changed but we have been here many times before lockdown and it was never like this.

Now, to add insult to injury scones dry and place is filthy. No staff seen cleaning outside, and it is closing time.

This used to be the best place for cream tea in London with beautiful views, such a shame, hope management sort out these issues.

Worst experience of my life. When you go to tourist attractions as such you should feel welcomed and excited to be there. However, after dealing with staff at Pembroke lodge I am sure I will not return. The supervisor Merzana had a disgusting attitude and needs some customer service lessons. She was rude and blunt and acted like she didn t even want to work there. It seemed like she was in charge and the staff working with her were so un-organised which lead to longer queuing times.

What a beautiful venue for a woodland wedding, the co ordinator was polite welcoming and friendly. She explained everything thoroughly and offered all sorts of suggestions. She didn't try to get us booked there and then so was no pressure... excellent venue and can't wait for my big day!

Pros:

Pros:
Lovely to sit outside on a sunny day with the views
Beautiful fresh scones

Cons:
Stale, dry carrot cake
Poor, slow service. Better management needed.
Rude staff, kicked a family group off of a large table so that about six people had to sit around a small table whilst two staff sat on a large table.
Staff are not cleaning / disinfecting the tables between usage.

Beautiful location with a stunning view from the garden. You can sit outside in the summer (and winter if you like the cold). Food is excellent and good value. Coffee is mediocre and soft drinks expensive. There is a large car park that fills up very quickly at the weekend.

Good range of food, cakes and beverages and a lovely view from the outdoor seating. A great destination for a walk from Roehampton, it provides a reward for making the effort to get there, and sets you up for the walk back.

I got married to my beautiful wife in the Belvedere Suite of the Pembroke Lodge. It was a wonderful experience. The venue and surrounding location is absolutely beautiful... Perfect for pictures and vids... The staff were very helpful from the planning stages right up to the wedding day itself.
Byron in particular was fantastic..he was very accommodating and helpful beyond expectations. He even fixed my wife's veil .. I cannot thank him enough..
Thank you Pembroke Lodge!..

Come here almost every weekend. Walk the dig around the park, then get some scones. They don't allow dogs into the actual lodge though, so you gotta stay outside the gates. But scones and clotted cream are amazing should you go inside!

This is one of three very, very good wedding venues I have ever been. The staff were amazing. The food gastronomic. I would highly recommend the Lodge and I thank them for contributing to an amazing celebration of our dear friends daughter's special day.

Have recovered and organised themselves after the lockdown. Place is clean, offer appropriately reduced and looks safe to eat and drink. Staff are friendly, which is no mean feat, given the hospitality collapse and that they may lose jobs soon. Visit to support if you can

Very lovely, and the ancestral home of Nobel laureate Lord Bertrand Russell, so lots of memorabilia. As a wedding venue everything was impeccable. The toilets however were not very clean. Fabulous location and view.

Close to London. Ample spaces to walk. Grove with many years. We can see various types of animals. Highlights the deer. It also has a lake with ducks
At the entrance there is a beautiful palace where we can eat
Magnificent views over the nearby towns
If the weather is bad, wear appropriate clothes. Once we are walking we will not have where to take shelter

We always come here with my friends as they have a beautiful location and atmosphere, as well as free parking (which is quite hard to find in Richmond). Once we had breakfast outside (as weather was great) with a stunning view to the fields , positioned on the hill makes it even better. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty food and coffee
