Had been longing to visit this beautiful location and house. Unfortunately it is let down by the Cafe. Arrived at 1:00 pm on a Tuesday. Queued outside the Lodge for 15 minutes with social distancing in place. When we got inside the queue continued at great length. We saw only one person serving drinks. We didn't fancy the look of the hot food, and just wanted a snack and a coffee. As there were only 3 sandwiches left to choose from (Egg) we decided to leave and to go elsewhere. We noticed that many of the tables outside had not been cleared, and had been taken over by Blackbirds. Very disappointing

Pembroke Lodge feels a million miles away from the crowded car park and busy footpaths nearby. As soon as you step through the gate, tranquility rules. Plenty of food options and the outside seating affords fabulous views over the west of London and beyond. There are footpaths to stroll along away from the house and into the trees, and benches, where you can stop and just soak in the silence.

Lovely place to visit in Richmond park - Pembroke ...

Lovely place to visit in Richmond park - Pembroke Lodge is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion in Richmond Park in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is located on high ground with views across the Thames valley to Windsor and Surrey. It has 11 acres (4.5 ha) of beautifully landscaped grounds, including King Henry's Mound from which there is a protected view of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. The grounds also include memorials to the 18th-century poet James Thomson and the 20th-century rock-and-roll singer and lyricist Ian Dury.

The building is of historical interest, having been the residence of the British prime minister Lord John (later, Earl) Russell and the childhood home of his grandson, the philosopher Bertrand Russell. GHQ Liaison Regiment ("Phantom") was also based there during the Second World War. Pembroke Lodge is part of the Crown Estate and is currently privately run as a catering facility and a conference and wedding venue on a long lease from The Royal Parks. It also houses a heritage charity, The Hearsum Collection.

Only stopped into this delightful place for a drink but would love to go back and try some of the gorgeous looking food being turned out by a group of busy chefs. Prices on the menu were very reasonable for London area. Wonderful to sit on the terrace and admire the really long distance view. Staff very helpful.

Did not go inside, but beautiful location on all levels- Its on a peak and so good views to one side (West), green space, in Richmond Park with great garden, good for walking, having teas, snacks or just sitting and reading.

This is always our treat when we visit the park and never fails. Beautiful roast lamb today, massive portion and tenderest lamb ever. Others had homebaked scones, tea etc. Always fresh hearty food and reasonably priced. Only downside is the pesky crows always waiting to pounce.

My daughter was married in the Russell Suite some years ago. It's a great venue, food good, and staff were really helpful. Even had amazing weather in mid October! Some slight problems with people from another larger wedding taking place in the Belvedere Suite, with drunken guests and children! Ours was great value and hard to fault. Useful advice on ancillary aspects such as disco and transport and most other more central aspects with plenty of choice and flexibility.

I photographed a wedding at beautiful Pembroke Lodge in September 2018. The building itself is beautiful and the wisteria looked amazing -perfect for the couple and group shots. Wedding's at this venue are clearly well organised by the hosts. A chap called Byron was running the wedding I was covering. He was a huge help, incredibly good at his job with lots of enthusiasm for his role. Kind regards, Vanessa White (Emotive Photography)

Scones are amazing! Layout inside cafe is terrible when busy and makes everything very slow. No chance if you were on your own and had a wheelchair or pushchair. Dogs not allowed anywhere near Pembroke Lodge. Completely fenced off from park with no dogs signs on all gates.

Great spot to stop off on a mid week walk in the park if you are lucky enough to have the time off! Clean, very friendly staff and a great selection of well prepared cakes and pastries along with more substantial offerings.

Pembroke Lodge is a beautiful Georgian building on the western side of Richmond Park, surrounded by lovely lawns, gardens, woodland walks and from its terrace offers what must be one of the best views in London. There is a spacious cafe here with a good selection of hot and cold food, as well as drinks, a quick-serve kiosk for drinks and pastries just outside the entrance to the gardens, an information centre with a small shop, and lots of informative signs. It is one of the delights of Richmond Park and well worth a visit!

Very busy. Good coffee and food.

Could possibly benefit with more staff clearing tables as so busy. Many customers clearing tables themselves to be able to sit down.
