Been here 3 times in the last week. I dont believe the are taking my daughters asthma seriously. Asthma kills kids all the time. Nurses are uninformed and doctors lack compassion. Some of their answers I've never heard if in my life and I have dealt with her asthma for years. They are so busy rushing through they cant even pay attention to your child.

Here with my daughter for 3 days so far and everyone has been amazing. The rooms are clean and they are helpful for if you left stuff at home like we did since we were and ER admit. As soon as our Peds offices general surgeon said we needed a Peds surgeon I knew this is where she should be so we hooped I. The car and came immediately. The volunteers are outstanding. The Zone is awesome for kids. Came round from her sedation in time to spend 15 minutes with the therapy dogs! Everything was really thought of here to help parents and the kids.

Kim, Tia, Dre, Dana, and everyone else...thank you!

Friendly, kind, experienced staff and Doctors. We received misdiagnosis at several other hospitals when my baby was sick, until we went to Children s. We will never go anywhere else again when we are in need of quality care.

Let s talk about customer service at the Scottish Rite location. Absolutely horrible. I usually go to the Eglesten location where my experience is always pleasant.
The staff at the Scottish Rite Location are very much unprofessional, specifically the EEG and registration department. The woman at the front desk and scheduling rep (wouldn t give me their names) were nasty nonchalant and the least bit of kind . The scheduler was very condescending and because they wouldn t let my child be seen after I was told to still come even though we were running late, she vocally scheduled me for the following week at 8:30 . I arrived at 8:27 and was told that she moved my daughters appointment until two weeks later. Was never given an update nor email with the type of information. I don t live close to this location at all so it s quite inconsiderate of my time to not tell me this type of information. They need to retrain their employees for proper customer service . I would never come back to this location because if I do I m sure someone will be catching a palm to face the next time .

The best hospital care I've ever had. This hospital has family advocate services that makes sure your time there is A plus. I really appreciated all the help that the staff offered. I was alone with my almost 2 yr old and 4 yr old bc my husband was at work. They were so helpful. I wish I could bring the staff home with me. Lol Great Job guys!! Some of these other hospital can learn alot from Childrens Hospital.

My child is very selective of who she is nice to. And even though she was a bad ear infection and the nurses and tech were making her uncomfortable when providing for her, she still loved them. I would cost no other hospital. The ER could use some improvement. But once admitted it's wonderful.

Do not bring your child to Scottish Rite via ambulance, seriously don't bother, even if it is recommended by the CHOA urgent care. The NURSES were literally the worst nurses we have ever seen, ANYWHERE! Even if arriving by ambulance, they don't treat your child like they are an emergency, even if their pulse is 137 & have elevated white blood cells. They just let your child suffer for hours on end, don't have an answer & send you home with no actu answers. Seriously, go to another hospital! Oh, and the amount of people INCLUDING STAFF that were improperly wearing masks or not wearing them at all (several staff were not wearing masks) was disturbing!

First off I WILL NEVER go back to this hospital for my children s healthcare needs.. we just moved back to atl and my kids were sick. My insurance didn t come through yet and I stated that I wanted to talk to the social worker so I could be helped with medication the NP LAUREN TIMMONS treated us like we were low class and we weren t good enough .. she told me they don t offer those services to patients and I couldn t speak to a social worker and that I could get my antibiotics free at Publix.. one of the antibiotics were 100+ dollars so when I called back in tears because I couldn t afford it for my daughter who has pneumonia all they told me was there was nothing that could be done.. also the staff treated us as terrible since I have a lot of kids and no insurance when I clearly stated we just moved her 3 days ago TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!! Especially for them to be in service with children.. Hughes Spaulding children s is the hospital I went to after they turned me down and they treated me and my daughter so well from the nurse to the doctors and residents to the social worker to the financial counselor .. I walked out with insurance for me plus my kids. SCOTTISH RITE GETS A .. if I could give them a 0 I would

Worst experience at this hospital in the ER waiting 4 hours. I was surprised to experience such poor care and service because I heard such great things about this hospital. Apparently, they have great marketing to make you believe that. I pray I never have to come here again.

Valet service was strange. Coming in at first I missed the humongous sign stating this. My 2 yr old had a broken arm, so I was pretty rushed. The initial service was terrible. Did not feel like we got "emergency" response. The later hospital part was good however. All staff were very good with her.

Dealing with their billing is a nightmare. They have been paid in full for many bills by our provider and they continue to send us "balance bills" for well over a year that we've had to fight. We had finally gotten to a zero balance with them and just got a bill saying we owe a balance on a service from over a year ago that has been paid by our provider. They are a bunch of liars and scam artists. I hate these shameful people. Horrible. Would never recommend. These people should be in jail.

Came here because my youngest needed surgery. My wife & I also have a 1yr old because of Covid she was limited to watching TV. Anybody who has kids especially toddlers know that they are not going to keep still. No area for my toddler to release energy or eat her snacks. Definitely not a place to bring "non" sick kids. At least make a walk path or something.

My 5 day old had to come in for high bilirubin. Th...

My 5 day old had to come in for high bilirubin. They did a fine job of seeing us promptly and even put us in a separate waiting area from the rest of those in the ER waiting room because she was so young. The intake doctor was very nice and upbeat which made this terrible and exhausting experience a little more pleasant. Baby had to get an IV which was traumatizing for all of us. 2 nurses poked my 5-day old 12 times and we finally asked the 2 non-IV nurses to stop. At that point they mentioned the IV nurse - we wished they would have gotten her from the very beginning. The IV nurse was professional and very experienced and was able to put an IV in a dehydrated 5-day old's vein in 2 tries.

They took us up to the in-patient room, and as we walked by the triage/ER nurses station, one mocked us and the other laughed. That felt unprofessional, that would never have happened at a top-notch medical facility focused on positive patient interactions (e.g., MD anderson). Once up in the in-patient room, they did blue light therapy with a blanket on her back and lights from above. It was not a fun experience for anyone but the nurses were AMAZING and so caring once we got to the in-patient room. One weird item is that the intake doctor told us the nurses at in-patient would available to feed and change the diaper and take care of the baby for the entire time we were in the hospital. However, once we got upstairs, the nurses told us that the intake Dr is mistaken, and that this is not possible as they do not (and never will) have enough nurses for this. So, after 2 days of labor, 3 days for hospital visit #1, 1 day at home, and now on hospital visit #2, we had to stay up and feed/change our newborn every 2 hours for an undetermined amount of time (it ended up being 14 hours). We were wrecked.

Unfortunately, I had a mental breakdown while I was there and I was confronted with the fact that, as an adult, I could not receive treatment while at a pediatric hospital. This is a huge issue - how am I, as the mother of a newborn, supposed to feed my infant every 2 hours, learn how to pump breastmilk, get enough sleep to be able to drive home safely, and get medical attention at a different facility? My brain explodes thinking about this experience that almost broke me. Anywho, I'm hoping this review makes it's way to administrative staff at CHOA so they can improve the patient's and the patient's caretakers experience.

I have been applaud at the quality of the health care "professionals" that come out at night at Scottich Rite Atlanta. My son is in the ICU. During the day they must have the first string on the floor, but at night they bring out the third string to play with children's lives. The air-way clearance person, came to my son's room to give him his treatment. I always question the person to get a feel for the person's knowledge. This person, could not respond to basic questions, or clearly made it up as he went along; as I am sure he thought that I did not know anything about my son's CF. As a parent of a CF child, you tend to know a lot about air-way clearance. I started losing confidence in the idiot, then when he went to change the tube that went into my son's lungs...the airway clearance mechanism that extracts mucus, he unhooked the breathing machine and then stumbled to figure out how to install the device. After he fumbled through that, it proceeded to tell me that the extraction tube failed to pick up any mucus? No mucus from a CF patient? How literally ridiculous is that? I had to get his supervisor into the room to perform the procedure. What is more shocking, it that after telling the management of this, I saw the same incompetent person administering to a poor baby where the mother and the father were not in the room to watch this incompetent person tend to their child. And wouldn't you know it, the siren blue light starts going off in the child's room initiating many of the nurses running to the room. This is a failed management at one of the suppose best hospitals in the country. If they had negative stars, Scottish rite would get one from me and my family. I will be happy to get my son out of here. Your child would be better served to go to some other children's hospital. A vet could not do much worse.

I brought my baby daughter Fiona in at 2 months of age for vomiting issues on May 16. I can't remember who the ER overnight doctor was but I really appreciated his knowledge and bedside manner. It ended up being nothing but a little stomach upset but the experience was really good especially when you consider that it was a late night ER experience. This is where I got my appendectomy when I was about 10 years-old and it will always be my go to for when my girl gets sick. Thank you CHOA-Scottish Rite and keep up the good work!

One of the best hospitals we have ever been to. My daughter went undiagnosed with a fecal impaction for almost a year. Within minutes of her getting into the ER room everyone from the nurses to the physician instantly knew that she had very severe obstruction. To a untrained pediatrician or an adult ER doctor it would have been missed or misdiagnosed as it had bee. At three other hospitals. My baby suffered unnecessarily for a year because I made the wrong decision to go to the closest hospital instead of the best hospital. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC and to this day if anything serious is wrong with one of my three girls I will make the 7 hour drive to get them seen at CHOA. DO NOT THINK FOR A MOMENT THAT AN ADULT HOSPITAL IS YHE SAME THJNG AS A CHILDRENS ONLY HOSPITAL. Do not make the same mistake as I made and went the way of convenience over quality , compassion and experience. I am so moved by the work that the wonderful people at CHOA do I donate every year to the AFLAC care-a-thon. There have my baby her life back. I will forever be in debted to the miracle workers at this institution!

Terrible nursing staff that neglects patients that dont talk. Leaves parents to do all their job, constantly need to be reminded to do vitals/administer medicine/clean patient/etc. Doctors are vague at best, can't tell what is wrong and misdiagnosed my child causing further issues. I am DISGUSTED with our near month long stay at CHOA.

Came here to get lab work because after getting it drawn at another location they couldn t get it here for vague reasoning so the same lab had to be drawn again. I arrived at 7:12 to no wait or other people in line. I sign in at this time and ring the bell. No one comes. Then someone randomly walking past sees me and calls a phlebotomist. I stand there with my crying baby for 1 hour waiting with not a soul here. I did call beforehand to see if I needed an appointment or if they could do it at this time and I was assured they could. I really wish Atlanta had any other options for children s healthcare.

My 2.5 year old son had a febrile seizure in the m...

My 2.5 year old son had a febrile seizure in the middle of the night. We called 911 and the operator dispatched an ambulance to our home. We took our son to Scottish Rite and the level of care my son received was poor to say the least. After waiting hours, the doctor performed her "examination" and declared that my son had a fever (which was obvious) and recommended we control it for the next 24-48 hours by alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I asked her at least twice if she could run some kind of test to determine the cause of his fever and she dismissed this by saying there was no need since it was most likely a virus. She left the room and a nurse entered stating we would be free to go once the doctor completed the discharge papers. She closed the door behind her and we waited for another 45 minutes. Finally, I opened the door to find out what was taking so long only to see that the doctor was eating. We were finally given our discharge papers and left the hospital around 6:30 am. Our whole family was exhausted. For the next 14 hours, we struggled to control our son's fever. It started spiking before his next dose and became increasingly worse as the day progressed. Finally, we decided to take him and our whole family back to the ER at Scottish Rite around 8:30 pm. We were treated by a nurse this time who was incredibly thorough and suspected strep throat. She ran a culture and it came back positive. My son was given a dose of an antibiotic and a Rx to take home. It was apparent that he began feeling better shortly after. I feel that a second trip to the ER would not have been necessary if the doctor during our first visit took the time to complete a more thorough examination. What would've happened if I actually listened to her recommendation and just kept trying to control his fever by alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen for 24-48 hours??? I'm sure his symptoms would've worsened considering we were struggling to control his fever. Watching your child have a seizure is terrifying and we were worried that it may happen again. I decided to submit a complaint regarding the care my son received during his visit. This was reviewed by Dr. Beiter who found that everything was done properly. We finally spoke on the phone after playing phone tag and the conversation ended poorly. I expressed my concern with the care my son received and Dr. Beiter said that the standard of care was met. He said that if we didn't return to the ER for the second time, my son would've eventually gotten over the strep throat without antibiotics. My reply to that was how much pain and discomfort would my son have to endure for this to resolve? I've had strep throat before and it was very painful...why would it be okay to let my son experience that when a course of antibiotics would resolve it much faster while providing relief for his symptoms. And during this same conversation, Dr. Beiter stated kidney problems could arise as a result of untreated strep throat (a complete contradiction to his previous statement). So, again, if I would've listened to the first doctor and gone a full 48 hours trying to control his fever without knowing the cause of it, my son's symptoms and condition could've worsened significantly! Dr. Beiter then began asking why I didn't take my son to his pediatrician the next day. Well, maybe because we had an eventful night complete with a febrile seizure, an ambulance and a night spent in the ER. And I was following the recommendations given by the ER doctor who he's standing behind. Dr. Beiter then said "Well, you should have seen your pediatrician the next day since this ER doctor is a stranger to you"? So are we not to trust the recommendations given by an ER doctor? If that's the case, then why do ER s exist and why should we wait those long hours to see one? All of this was said in a condescending tone which felt like a direct attack to my parenting skills and judgement. I was insulted and upset that I was now having to defend myself. Dr. Beiter then HUNG UP ON ME!

I had to bring my son here for a CT Scan. My experience from finding this location, the signs they provide all around, the staff that you can locate quickly and the acknowledgments from every one was worth the trip a hour away from home. Amanda in CT was very kind, informative, helpful and her customer service was above beyond. Not just how she spoke and took care of my son, when she offered us a beverage as we were exiting, made eye contact with us and her interactions with her employees. Such a breath of fresh air she is, very kind, positive. She walks us out and informed us how to exit to make it back to the exit. She is awesome and I would request anyone who has to have a CT scan to trust her with your child. The hospital all together was a pleasant trip experience.

My son received amazing care, unfortunately I can't even speak on that. This hospital needs to fix it's social work field ASAP. They have missed so many abuse cases that they are on a witch hunt for any parent with a child under four. They accuse you of abuse and put your life through hell for the very short term of having dfacs find that you are in fact an amazing parent after all. While I feel attacked I understand the need to spot abusers. So I'm conflicted... I can't imagine a child in my care losing a life due to abuse that I missed as a physician. However... HONE YOUR PROCESS NOT ALL OF US are hurting our precious babies.

My baby has sickle cell, and the moment I came thru the ER and gave my information I was seen! Hospitality was excellent. I had to stay the weekend and I swear I felt so much understanding and kindness. I'm glad I went with my first thought and came straight here! Baby Tylor appreciates all the love and care! Thank you CHOA! especially the ladies on the 5th floor (rm 556) had to rate while still here.

To start off, I went to a tanner facility 3 times in one week with my 4y/o son, who was complaining about back and stomach pain. By the 3rd visit, I could tell that the pain had become extreme and I became very scared and worried for his safety. I requested to be transferred to choa and they took my child by ambulance. After arriving here, all of the nurses and doctors have showed true compassion, care, and concern for my son. I even became upset with some of the treatment plan they had for my son, but they were very understanding of why I felt that way. I DECIDED TO CONTINUE WITH THE PLAN THEY HAD, REGARDLESS OF MY FEELINGS TWARDS IT AND THANK GOD I DID. THEY FOUND HE HAD AN INFECTION INSIDE HIS SPINE THAT WAS PUTTING PRESSURE ON HIS SPINAL CHORD!!!!! They went straight to surgery after telling both mom and dad what was happening, and he seems to be recovering well. The doctors and nurses have brought tears to my eyes everyday with how well they have treated my son and us. We are still here and probably will be for a while, but I have confidence that this is the best place I could have possibly taken him. Sometimes the wait times are a little long, but these people stay busy. It s not from lack of work ethic at all, and I have never seen staff like this before. They are all amazing. They saved my son from serious injury or worse have have been so nice to him. I am so so so grateful a place like this exists. Thank all of you.

My grandson has an appt with the Neurologist Mrs. Sidhu at 8:40, and we live over an hour a way. We fought heavy traffic the whole way down, and called 4 times to let them know we may be late. They told us that we have a 20 min leave way but Maps took us thru a subdivision and we called to tell them we were about to pull in and the Provider Mrs. Sidhu said unfortunately she was not gonna be able to see us today, after every thing we went thru, me holding my urine for over an hour bc I knew I didn't have time to stop anywhere. Anyways I'm having to reschedule but it darn sure won't be with that very inconsiderate doctor. I was so aggravated and hurting so bad from holding my urine for so long i just wanted to cry.

If you are a minority, my best advise to you is to take your child elsewhere. My child was experiencing virus like symptoms and had a high fever of 102 before we arrived in the ER. As soon as he arrived, he vomit on the floor while waiting in line to be seen, we were then directed to be seated, and that once a room was available, they would call us back. We have been waiting for over two hours and have yet to be seen, while other patients with less symptoms are "expedited". This has been by far the WORSE experience ever and I would NEVER recommend any minority to take your child here to the ER.

Most of the time running late, incompetent, don't call back when being told you will be called back, and has written over doses on meds, then goes back and lies to cover up their mistakes, has not send important neccesarily meds that are vital to my childs health to pharmacy . Miscalculated prescription dosage and incorrectly written , shows they do not check behind their work to make sure things are correct and accurate. Your children will end up worse off going here than doing home self care. A set up for disaster. Worst children's hospital i have ever been to. Also Atlanta only offers that ONE hospital for children. Many locations, none which are any better, but all under the same hospital , CHOA!

This is my second time experience with them &will try to avoid going there in future. Overall: too costly & bad service

We have been to Scottish Rite at least once with a...

We have been to Scottish Rite at least once with all three children. The first two experiences were acute (stitches to the eye and a second set of eyes for what ended up being a bad case of Hand/Foot/Mouth disease ). This time, we spent 4 days in the hospital with my oldest (15 yo) son. We were sent to the ER by our pediatrician, who called ahead for us. The ER medical staff was very attentive to our son and the urgency of his condition, as well as making sure we had as close to real-time updates as possible. They showed compassion for our concern as parents, and they showed compassion in dealing with our son s special needs due to having autism. They walked him through every step of every procedure and respected his preferences for minimal physical contact where it was possible. When physical exams or blood draws were necessary (and there were a lot!) they made sure to acknowledge that he doesn t like touch, but explained why it was important for those exams to be done.

Once we were admitted, the nursing staff was very accommodating and did not get frustrated with a very nervous mother asking for repeated checks and reassurances. I had one nurse, who wasn t even assigned to us, tell me If you need me to come in here 842 times to reassure you that he is ok, then I will come 842 time! I d rather come 842 times and him NOT need me than to miss the one time he DOES need me. I know from personal experience that the nursing staff can make one break your experience in a hospital. I d say after 4 days there, they made the experience much better.

Scottish Rite is a teaching hospital and I got to see first hand the kinds of lessons the new doctors were leaning, as well as the current doctors taking direction from more seasoned doctors. While he was there, it was thought that my son might be experiencing 2 somewhat rare conditions that could have affected his heart and other organs. Fortunately, that ended up not being the case, but I was thankful that the doctors had enough experience to both recognize and treat those rare conditions! Even though those conditions could have been bad, I was at least relieved that we were in the right place at the right time. And the doctors explained every step of the way, made sure both my son and my husband and I understood what tests were being done and why, and they listened to and validated every question we had.

We were sent home after 4 days once we were sure that my son s condition was appropriately under control enough to finish recovery at home. And we were told not to hesitate to call or bring him back in should anything change. My son went in a VERY sick young man, and he came out significantly improved with his condition under control. I am very thankful for the attentive care he received while we were there!

(For sure the comments about the bad food are accurate, but it is hospital food, not a 5 star restaurant!)

the nurses are rude, especially in the emergency room. They couldn't even put in an IV. My nephew had a seizure because his fever spiked and the nurses made us wait for over an hour. Nurse Markie? Probably the most rude women I've ever met. No bedside manners at all. The nurse manager asked us not to leave, but then nurse Markie told us that we should. My son was sent from his regular pediatrician to be admitted--- had it not been for his regular doctor running additional tests, CHOA would not have looked any further after the respiratory panel showed he had a virus.
DOCTOR THERE REPEATEDLY SAID IT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY JUST THE VIRUS AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE SOMETHING MUCH MORE SERIOUS.
Nurses were great--- doctors could use some improvement looking at the actual patient vs just lab work. Not everything can just be blown off as viral.

The hospital was fantastic. Our doctor and our nurses were fantastic. But one nurse in specific, Murphy from the Surgery floor, impacted are time the most. In only 1 shift she significantly affected my son, myself, and my wife s time at the hospital. She turned a stressful and scary time into a stress free and warm environment. She went above and beyond for us we are extremely thankful and lucky to have had her as a nurse!

I went their emergency room last night and/or this morning. I was put in a room, for 45 minutes. I opened the door to the room and looked down the hall and saw no one. It looked like I was looking at a ghost town. No nurses, no doctors, nobody. After this long wait with no medical team, they had the nerve to send someone in for registration and/or get my method of payment. How dare you. I've been going to this hospital for 13 years, and I never experience such treatment. Especially, when you have a child with heart and lung disease. Would you go back. I had to leave and take him to another hospital. What a disappointment Scottish Rite. Maybe your medical staff was all sleep or they just do not see anyone after midnight.

Rude and arrogant nurses. Waited almost five hours to see a doctor... who then did nothing to help. If you need urgent care, go else where because this hospital does not care about any of its patients.

Expensive! Even after our insurance deductible. We thought we had good insurance, because it cost so dang much $$ We saw neurologist, arrived 40 minutes early and waited 2 hours before he finally came in and did nothing. He just told us to schedule a MRI and another visit to talk about the MRI. It cost $1,022 to be asked to make more appointments we cannot afford because our insurance only paid 1/4 of the total bill for 1 visit. Furthermore they had lost the record of the first MRI from 2008 so, no record to even look at. Doctors have no idea what it takes for regular people to make $1'022. But they will charge less for someone who has free healthcare. So, what they charge depends on what's paying not care recieved. We received no care, how's that worth $1,022? We won't be returning.

This ER is terrible, over a 2 hour wait just to SEE the doctor in the ER with a 6 month old baby are you kidding me? Is there only one doctor in the emergency room? Not to mention all the other infants I ve seen waiting just as long.

My daughter had been sick for 2mths and 5 days then we went to (CHOA Scottish Rite and from the time we entered to the time we left was an amazing journey. They have big rooms with pull out coaches and a lazy boy rocking chair for family. Clowns, Video game consoles, Library, and game rooms etc.(SPEACIAL THANKS TO THE 4TH FLOOR STAFF) Because of God her GI Surgeon and all the staff on that floor she went home healed. Other Children Hospitals should take note CHOA Scottish Rite is the standard now get on their level.

This place is a joke! The nurses on the oncology f...

This place is a joke! The nurses on the oncology floor are boogie and disrespectful. From the moment my daughter got admitted it s been one problem after another. Our stay is only 7 days, the time it would take for my 20 month old to complete the last chemo cycle. I m only on day 4. Day 1 I notice the crib are raggedy and old, the rooms are filthy, and learned that parents had to pay for their meals. Day 2 a day nurse gave my daughter a zofran pill,( and my baby girl gagged), vomit every thing up, when she was suppose to receive zofran through iv.Also on day 2 I requested another crib that wouldn t hurt my hands to put it down. That night while checking my daughter s crib I was shocked to find a crib full of blood. An incompetent boogie nurse didn t tighten up the chemo to the broviac and it came apart. Leaving a crib full of blood. My baby blood. Day 3 of my stay in the hospital from hell, they finally brought a crib only to take it back out and that was another 2 hour wait. The blew me off when I tried to suggest something, then turn around to recite their mantra on how they strive to provide extraordinary care blah, blah, blah. They mislead me by telling me that they would like for me to be more involved and that they welcome opinions from parents. When my daughter s night nurse came in she told me that she took the liberty to place a zofran pill in another drug mixing it and I told her to make another batch. I also told her that she should have communicated to me and I would have told her my daughter take zofran only through iv, she s only 20months old. I also stated that I felt that they is trying to kill my baby girl. She responded that she been nursing for a few years and she s good at what she did, blah, blah, blah.Day 4, man o man.... my day was awesome up until shift change. They assign the best nurse on this side of the sun rays to us once again. She came in our room when she first came in to announce her glorious presence and left. She came back in with another nurse and 2 charge nurse. She approached me and said that she would not be my nurse because she don t feel comfortable. I told her I think that s a great idea, you shouldn t be my daughter nurse while feeling that way. She went on by correcting me by saying I feel comfortable with your daughter I just don t with you. I told her- that s fine again you removing yourself is a great idea! Then she went on and on accusing of being mean, and how no other nurse want to come into this room. The whole time the charge nurse is standing there allowing this shenanigans to continue. Am I m not the mother of the patient receiving chemo? Once I made the conscious decision to end the one sided conversation with the tantrum throwing nurse, that when the charge nurse decided to open her mouth by reciting the the CHOA mantra. I felt gang up on.They ethics and culture is a joke. They want parents to be seen and not heard. They are careless, they don t own their error and they gossip in the halls just to taint the mother s image. I don t feel comfortable and the worse part is I have to be here for 3 more days. CHOA is overrated.

Security has some great people and then some bad apples that you have to stand your ground against. The fault invariably lies with their miscommunication. Make sure when you sign your forms you re getting paper copies and not just signing the electronic keypad. Don t stay the night there. Call the Ronald McDonald house instead.

The nurses and doctors just want to take care of some babies. They were all great. Your child is in good hands if Dr Smith is the surgeon. Dr Anderson runs a tight ship but that also means mistakes don t get by her so trust her advice, same for Dr Hazen. Dr Kapasi was good at keeping us informed. All the nurses deserve individual mentioning but Kathy in particular. Stephanie in OT is who you want for your child s physical development, or Susan in PT. Al the chef makes the food not be hospital food. For RT you want Christian. Many more people all worth mentioning.

Somehow they ve figured out how to keep the good ones because everyone here loves their work. Our only real issues were some communication problems amongst security which disappeared when we pointed out their assumption of liability with some of the on-the-fly rules. The rest of the staff more than cancels out that small handful of bad apples.

The most inefficient hospital, send to wrong building no one could locate our child's information and then they needed a new patient order because the check in associate's couldn't read the order...now 2 hours later still waiting for infant to be seen. This is terrible please find a way to help patients rather than making it harder to provide service.

Hopefully this isn't what this Hospital represents everyday however I have to give my experience the last couple of times when it comes to waiting to be seen. We had an appointment each time. The first time we were running 5 minutes late and said we had to reschedule. This time, we've been waiting for over 2 hours! This doesn't make any sense. Not only are we waiting but the staff doesn't really seem to care we took off from work to be here 30 minutes before our appointment. They're very passive. I won't say we're going to find somewhere else to go but we will send a complaint to the Hospital and make sure they do something regarding our bill since we're currently waiting over 2 hours.

I am usually a Children s fan! But today the vibe is wayyyyyyyyy off. I know they have to ask questions but I have never been treated like I don t know care about my child. On top of that they are very nonchalant this morning. I just don t know and the nurse s comments are usually age appropriate... not sure if I am just on high alert because my child isn t feeling well or if the team we have just don t care! Just WOW

Update: **** once we got on the ACU floor it felt like Children's and I was glad because when my child is sick the only thing I want is for my child to feel better. Thank you to the nurses and respiratory therapists that went above and beyond for my cub!

Worst Hospital ever been to. Its sad that I had to send an email to the CEO, just so my little one get the proper care and treatment. I'm tired of the doctors just telling me what I want to hear and send me home.

Amazing hospital ! I highly recommend this place if your child ever needs medical care . My baby's life was saved by the wonderful doctors here twice ! Both times I've been here I've had great experiences . My baby was transfered from another hospital in ambulance because she had a bad infection & her fever wouldn't go down it got to 104 . Shout Out to Richard, Anna, Theresa & Vanessa my baby's nurses she was there just last month in room 242 ! I will be coming here if my baby needs medical care even if it's an hour & 20 minutes of a drive . Thank you CHOA !! If you want to save your child's life come here ! I honestly recommend this hospital !!

This is actually Crystal Hedges. We have been going to Scottish Rite numerous times a year since my son was born 14 years ago. In those 14 years the ONLY complaint we have ever had was......One time a year ago the room service people forgot my husband's dinner. Other than that the doctor's, nurses, techs, radiologist, Neurosurgeons, neurologist. Have all been amazing and very caring. We are from outside of Athens and although traffic sucks sometimes. We would not trust any of our children to anyone else.

My son was admitted here back in June. From the time we walked in the door till the time we got released we were treated absolutely amazing. The ER department and nurses were so attentive to my son and his needs. we got moved up stairs right after his procedure and they were so caring and passionate for the 5 days we were there. I would absolutely recommend this hospital to anyone that has small children in need of care.
