The rehabilitation therapist in CIRU are amazing people. I'm very impressed with the level of hard work and professionalism they carry out on a consistent basis. I'm convinced that you won't find a group that is all more caring, capable, and genuine with this level of skills.

Unbelievably amazing staff at this hospital! Extremely clean and COVID standards were top notch! My son had surgery causing all kinds of anxiety for all of us and I just cannot believe how at ease every doctor, receptionist, PA, counselor, PT, surgeon, nurse made us feel. They spent time with my son answering every question he had (he s 7 so you can imagine what he was asking). Our charge nurse Linda was so attentive, genuine, and sweet. During surgery they called my cell phone from the OR to give me updates and put my mind at ease. Every hospital should take notes from this one. If I could give them 50 stars I would. If you are an employee or any affiliate of this hospital, Thank you for what you do and for the culture you have created within your organization.

I had to answer the same questions to about 15 different people across 4 hours. My son was transferred here from an "adult" hospital. So they will transfer my son from one hospital to the next but they won't transfer anything else. AND they misspelled my son's name on everything so now I am the one that has to work with the medical records and the insurance company to figure that out. All they did was say sorry And handed me a stupid form that I have to manage.

My child is 4.5 and since he was a few months old,...

My child is 4.5 and since he was a few months old, he has suffered from very dangerous seizures and has had severe developmental delays as a result. My husband and I have believed from the beginning that the Lord was going to heal our child, and we've been relentless in our pursuit of ways to help him. This is very off putting to some doctors, however my son has been under the care of Dr Jeffrey Holt for almost 3 years now, and I can't say enough about him, as well as his fantastic team. They have worked with us every single step of the way, and have never just told us to just let it go, nothing can be done, as we have been told by other doctors prior to finding Dr Holt.

My son has gone 113 days without a single seizure now. He is healing, and his brain is working better and better. He wasn't able to walk, now with assistance of a walker, he walked a tenth of a mile the other day. He is learning like crazy. His vocabulary has expanded incredibly since his seizures have stopped.

There were times when we really weren't sure if our son would be alive the next morning when we went to get him up from bed, and it was touch and go for quite a while. Dr Holt's nurse Lindsey Reeves (Erin), was right there by our side and provided so much support for us and closely advised us through these tough times, with regard to what to do next.

Dr Holt's other nurse, Ann Price, was right there with us caring for Jack, asking how he was doing, and empathizing with us through our painful times, as well as celebrating the great times.

Meredith, Dr Holt's Ketogenic dietician, is a genius. She works with children to find ways to treat seizures naturally, through diet, and her help and work allowed my son to survive until we were able to find the right medicine combination to stop the seizures.

Dr Holt has probably made 50 -100 medicine adjustments for my son, and never ever stopped trying to find a solution for him. My son failed over 10 different medications and then suddenly, after a tiny change, the seizures stopped.

I can't say if Jack's healing was due to the medicine or prayer, but I can tell you that the Lord provided a phenomenal team to help us care for our son, and we are forever grateful to Dr Holt and his team for our son's healing.

For all parents who are facing autism, or other neurological disorders where there is nothing structurally wrong with your child's brain, don't give up hope. If it happened for us, it can happen for you. Ask the Lord to provide for you and surround yourself with great doctors like these here at Choa. Miracles happen here.

This was my first time ever going to this hospitalon 5-2-15. My daughter had a temperature of 103. The nurses and staff did an awesome job in the ER. Porsha was my daughters nurse and she took very good care of her. I'm so thankful for this hospital and if I need to I will be back. If you are not taking your kid to CHOA you are in the wrong place!!!!

Doctors and nurses that we met in traumatology are great, especially Dr Murphy and Dr O donol and overnight nurse Kristin were proffesional and nice.
People at the reception and people that helped my son to get on portable bed into the room and out of the hospital were lacking empathy and asking weird questions.
At the reception they saw that my son was in pain and made us wait untill I started yelling at them trying to outvoice my son s cry and said that we need emergency help immediately.
Staff women that helped us with the portable bed asked personal, annoying and judjemental questions instead of expressing a bit of respect and empathy to our situation and at least stay silent.

Today was not a good experience it was a long wait time, my 7month old baby was miserable, then we get to the back seen the nurse and doctor everything went well, then the nurse comes in to discharge us and he was ok at first but when I started asking questions it was very brief answers, told me my baby should be good til the morning bc the Dr was busy, somehow the Dr put the antibiotic in the portal. The nurse came in drop the sireng on the floor, I seen a plastic cap on it so i didn't think anything of it but he not putting the sireng in his mouth, my baby started letting some medicine spill out his mouth and the nurse put that dirty sireng in my baby mouth. Tried to talk to the charge nurse about this matter and they said they were busy I could wait long or leave a message. I will not recommend anyone to the hospital very unsanitary.

Came last night at 1 am with my 18 month old daughter, who had a high fever and was breathing bad. I was told that the estimated time to be checked by doctor is 4 hours. They gave me the number and asked to wait to be called. I have waited 1.5 hour and left during this time nobody checked how she was feeling. Was very shocked about the service

I'm so angry I am shaking!!! My family have been coming to CHOA for over 30 years (my brother was born with a cleft lip/pallet) My daughter has had over 20 I&Ds done in the ER and I have never been told to leave her alone in her room until tonight. She was so scared and nervous. The doctor just said "oh you'll be fine, you're going to be asleep" I AM LIVID!! They flat out refused for me to stay in her room during her 3 minute procedure. I have ALWAYS (9 years now) stayed by her side. Then once I'm ALLOWED back in I find out they never even addressed all her infections (she had three all together) So the doctor poked the third one with her finger and said "oh mom that's just cellulitis. It's fine." I am so angry I don't even know what to do. I know I will never bring her here again. From now Egelston is the only place I'll take her.

Be very careful of OUTRAGEOUS charges. We were charged over $840 for a 15 minute visit for a mild headache. No procedures were done. I called the billing department and and the patient rep at Scottish Rite. They charged $660 just for the room. I wish the politicians would step up and do something.

Today Tuesday, January 19th 2021, was my first time visiting Children s Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite Hospital. Soon as I walked in the (PATIENT) entrance of this hospital around 12-12:30 pm, MR. NOLAN at the front desk was very rude and aggressive. As this being the first person not only myself but anyone encounter when they enter this establishment his personality and customer service is horrendous. The job title he has is most definitely not a fit for him when it comes to being professional within a corporation. However, I can most certainly tell this is not his first and won t be his last time with the negative act he give out. So therefore, I will CONTINUE to make my voice and opinion be known until something is done about it! I am currently in the process of getting a BBB review report out on MR. NOLAN and contacting corporate.

Awful experience from the time the appointment was made to the time I finally walked out the door. The registration personnel were the only positive part of my visit. The staff in radiology was lazy, unorganized and non communicative with myself and each other. 8 hours for a radiology appt because of miscommunication and misinformation. I'll never go back to this location.

I ll make this review short and productive for those medical professionals able to improve the process...
When a child (like mine) visits your hospital those medical professionals attending his/her needs should cross your T s and dot your i s. I visited this hospital for the second time and felt as if I visited a drive-thru (in a bad way).

My family relocated to Atlanta and my son had an infection, congestion, cough and your usual toddler symptoms. Reviewing his medical history would help, performing a physical examination would help, even a quick test to check his health would help. Although the visit was quick, attention to detail (especially when a persons life is at stake) is important and appreciated.
After being asked a dozen questions (which could ve easily been answered by reviewing his medical records) my son has his ears and throat checked. An antibiotic was prescribed. And off we had to go.

If I visit this hospital once again is to visit the pediatrician office while avoiding ER.

Just home from hospitalization of 16 year old. We are very grateful for the very kind and thorough care we received at Scottish Rite. Our needs were anticipated. The nurses and doctors were very sensitive and caring; we were really treated as individuals. The care was excellent. We are lucky to have such a resource in our community. Though I hope we never have to go back ... if we needed to, we would not hesitate to choose Scottish Rite again.

My son has been a patient since July 2018. He was admitted for 12 days and the entire time the staff and doctors were wonderful. We developed a great relationship with everyone. My son is still under the doctors care with CHOA, Scottish Rite and we wouldn't want to go anywhere else. My son's doctors are almost like family and The staff treats us like family also. We went to Eggleston and the wait time was ridiculous. We waited 1/12 hours (even though we had an appointment) no one wanted to hold themselves accountable for neglecting us. We love this place.

If it says a 30-45 min wait count on at least 3 hours before you see a doctor. I kow This is the best place for kids but the wait is terrible. Nothing like watching your child cry in pain in a 10 x 5 room for going on three hours now.....

Great and professional service at this hospital! Took my son to the ER and the wait was very short once we were taken back to the room the doctors and nurses showed up pretty quickly they made sure to get him the immediate attention he needed and were very patient taking their time in explaining the procedures that were to be done to my child. Dr. Dykes and our nurse in the surgery floor including the anesthesiologist were very kind and attentive! I also want to mention that the staff in the X-ray room was very patient and helpful in keeping my son calm and making it a comfortable moment for him. Thank you!

I give one star for the male doctor on the fourth floor and the tech that sat with us one night , both were very kind to us..As for the staff on the fourth floor not only were the nurses rude but would lie.. The doctor would say one thing and the nurses would say another.. right hand doesn t know what the left had is doing .. as for the so called Professionals doctors, they need to revaluate what their tag on their shirts, white coats say.. I have never as a mom been treated like a convict. I don t have to name anyone.. I m sure when they read this they will know who they are.. Do yourself a huge favor, go to kennestone or drive to another state for your child.. you would be happy you did..

Being new to the state we had no idea how horrific the healthcare would be. If you don't know any better this place might seem fine. After our experience we are convinced this is where people who graduated at the bottom of their classes in med and nursing school go to work. The staff at any of the CHOA related places would never make it at a well rated hospital. One doctor we saw when I googled him we found out there were questionable circumstances on why he left his practice in Texas and yet here he is at CHOA allowed to practice. We wish we could say he was the only bad staff person there, it seemed to be a group effort by all staff members we dealt with. Truly disturbing.

The concept of their emergency room fast track waiting room was poorly thought out. You take the sick children & put them all in one room with absolutely no ventilation. It s a melting pot for them to catch something else or pass theirs along. This needs to be designed better & with parents in mind who have infants 5 months or younger.

Very unsanitary - NONE of the practitioners or nurses who examined my son or administered his labwork washed their hands. This is very dangerous since these 'healthcare' workers are moving from patient to patient. In fact the sink in the room was spotless and looked like it hadn't been used in days. Also, we visited the restroom and could only get a trickle of water to come out of the automatic/sensory faucet (the other faucet had no water coming out at all), so we had a hard time washing our own hands. I can only imagine that most people probably give up and don't wash their hands at all. Very unsanitary place for children and people in general.

I just got back from Scottish Rite for a minor surgery for my 4 year old son. I cannot be more pleased with everything from check in to check out. I was terrified, as any mother would be when their child has to be put under for surgery but the nurses and staff were so friendly and comforting. They made it seem so easy and explained every thing they were doing step by step. We arrived 2 hours before the surgery and within those 2 hours, we only spent 15 minutes in the waiting room, and then each person working on my son came in one at a time to introduce themselves. First the nurse practitioner, then the plastic surgeon, then the anesthesiologist, then the after care nurse, among others. The nurses were amazing and spent a lot of time explaining things and even taking time to have small talk about their own selves, kids, lives, etc. 2 hours flew by and my mind was off the surgery for most of it.

Afterward, the nurse was so sweet to my son and made sure he was comfortable. I went in on a Tuesday, which unknowingly is when teenage volunteers come around to all the post-op rooms with a wagon FULL of toys for the children to pick from. They were not cheap toys either, as my son found a toy he has been wanting that cost around $40, and of course, he went from groggy to excited. It was just an amazing experience and I will never go anywhere else for any emergencies or medical needs (hopefully we won't need to though).

Omg nervous 1st time ever been admitted for 6 days here. However They delivered the best care and best bedside manners I have ever seen. They taught us how to use at home equipment. They truly live up to What they say about patient care. Everyone was soo helpful and really nice and really ease my nervousness and made our family feel comfortable. They thought of everything and i mean everything for both parents family and patients of all ages and still expanding. They really exceeded my expectations. When I say "they" I mean from Nurses Tech Nurses to All The Staff in the building (Room Service, librarians, Cleaning Staff, Social Workers, Nutritionists, the Clowns, Cafeteria Staff, All the Staff). Im so happy to have the best caring hospital for children to care for us. I just wanna thank everyone for loving their job and patients. I definitely would recommend Scottish Rite to families. I wish the branch off choa office in Duluth would be as amazing. I really honor the dedication and strong bedside manners but it feels good to finally be home and use the knowledge given.

Horrible ER! Transported by my local ER to CHOA to be admitted. They ran the same tests my local ER ran. Dr. stated he didn't know what was wrong and sent us on our way. My perfectly healthy otherwise athlete had a BP of 180/100 and they sent him home with no answers! What a joke. I will never be back.
