These people are so incredibly rude for absolutely no reason. A family member attempted suicide and our family was in the waiting room. We were told to go home because we wouldn t be able to see him until tomorrow morning. After we left they told my suicidal family member that his family had left so he thought none of us even cared to stay to see him..
Another time I was there, there were some drips of blood on the floor. There was plenty of staff but no one had cleaned it up and I didn t want someone to fall because of it so I very nicely let the check in ladies know that there was blood on the floor and she snapped at me well this is an emergency room! I tried to say that I just was letting them know in case they didn t know and she walked away.
I have not ever heard one good story from this place. People in Longview call it st. Death trap I do however know maybe 3 people who work there who are good people.

Drive to Vancouver instead. My dad was there and they played stupid games. They pushed the nurses button 45 minutes before we got there and my step mom had to go out and get them. They were not busy, they were sitting there talking to one another about personal non work related topics. We wanted to know what was wrong and rather then try to communicate with us, they rushed us out the door. Well as far as giving the paperwork goes. They made us wait for a volunteer to bring us a chair, over ten minutes. Then I went right outside and there was a wheelchair 20 feet away from the door to his room. The nurse would have walked past it at least 4 times. I grabbed the wheelchair and told them how ridiculous the fact that we had to wait when the wheelchair was so close. They sent all but one of the volunteers home and noon. This is the time when the request would have been made. When we went to the lobby the volunteer was drinking an iced coffee and was bullsh!#ing with a paid employee and do doing jack!

If it were possible to give negative stars, they'd probably get them. Please take note of my comments.

VETERANS!!!!
If you're a veteran, find a way to get to the Portland VA before thinking about setting foot in this place. They treat you like second rate. As others have posted here, it's about money and insurance - they treat you like royalty if you got it or dirt if you don't. (Have seen both sides of this with family members - non-veteran with good insurance treated great, veteran with VA medical got the shaft.)

STATE INSURANCE
Even when I had good insurance, they misbilled every time, so watch your insurance charges too. If they think they can get more money for any procedure, they'll find a way, then when insurance denies payment they immediately send to collections. Fortunately for me, my insurance agent helped me fight/correct their mistakes and pay the properly coded charges (one was ER, other was for the Women's Clinic).

Historic notes
This hospital used to be more friendly and treated patients with more respect, but that was before Google and Internet. Candy striper volunteers even used to visit patients to cheer them up. A patient could be treated respectfully regardless of whether they had insurance or not. They actually had charitable waivers for those who needed them.

Too bad they got greedy and forgot that they have origins as a Catholic hospital.

Had to travel an hour to the Southwest Vancouver hospital to receive the proper care due to medical negligence and being lied to multipule times at this place. Don't waste your time and get proper care elsewhere!
After meeting with the case manager to file a complaint- he seems very incompetent and has lied to me several times. I will be persuing further legal action. This place is garbage. Would not even take my dog here. Its truely the worst hopital ever.

Took my wife to the ER for a kidney stone. She had to beg them to give her a ct scan. Which proved she had a 9mm stone blocking her ureter. They sent her home with pain pills and said she would pass it. New they were worthless, took her to Portland ER and she was admitted into surgery right away for kidney infection and stint to drain her kidney before she turned septic. I wouldnt take anyone to Longview ER unless you want them to die. Plane and simple they dont care, and think everyone is a junky. The Doctor just wanted to be her friend, but didnt care what happened to her. We made sure to tell everyone we know, plus the new ER im sitting in right now, that Longview is a joke, and should he shut down!

I brought a client in for a bowel obstruction. They gave the client an enema and left the supplies - used - on the counter for more than 2 hours. On a separate occasion, the nurse failed to wash her hands after reaching into her scrub pocket - before handling the input of my father's central line. They sent my mother home because she didn't have a high enough fever, even though she had fecal output from an abdominal surgery site. Less than 5 hours later she was in emergency surgery.

This hospital is fantastic for anyone interested in dying early to claim life insurance. Anyone else should probably steer clear.

They would have killed my son if his dad wouldn't have gotten involved. I went to the desk several times to tell them my son's condition had changed. A sudden increase in shortness of breath, couldn't lay down, increased pain in his chest. All these symptoms were a definite change in his status. They had done a CT scan of his chest done that morning, which no one had looked at because it was the weekend, and I was just an "hysterical" mother and my son was just "faking" it. Finally that evening after his father had to get angry and insisted to see the doctor, they looked at the scan, which showed a huge pulmonary embolism blocking his entire right lung! He was life flighted to OHSU and had emergency surgery to save his life. The care he received in ICU was much better and the nurses were knowledgeable and professional.

Wow I read these bad reviews and just can not believe it. My father and I where touring a tree farm in Longview a few weeks ago when My father collapsed due to a massive brain bleed leading to a stroke. The Fire Dept responded immediately and off to the hospital we went. One thing I really noticed when I was there is that the place was spic and span clean, well organized with a very friendly educated staff. I give them all AAAA++++ for the care that they gave both me and my father. Here is a shout out to Michael the Minister in the ER too. He was my angel to help me get through the tough decisions that had to be made. Just makes me wonder how many of these negative people with reviews are DSHS state funded and fell that they are the chosen ones and like to complain about everything in life.. Keep up the GREAT WORK..

My husband just had knee replacement surgery with an overnight stay. The procedure went amazingly well and the care he received in the joint center was absolutely fantastic! Both day and night crews were helpful, caring, friendly and funny as hell! I used to be scared of this hospital as their reputation has not been great. I am also no fan of doctors. I now find myself feeling some much needed faith has been restored in medical professionals. While at the cafe I was chatting with a nice gal from Musculoskeletal. She bought our coffees out of the blue. Who does that? Thank you, Tammi, Alicia, Amber, Chelsea, Bailey, Kathy, Dr Kung and the super nice woman in pre-op.

I've had multiple operations throughout my life, they treated me with respect. They also saved the life of my mother. I will forever be grateful.

Update 3/17/2019

My mother had a bad case of Influenza A, she went to work and nearly died friday after passing out due to low blood pressure and several other side effects of the influenza. I got to the hospital shortly after she arrived via ambulance. Suffice to say I am eternally grateful for the staff at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center. They saved her life and I can't look down negatively for that. :)

Thanks again to all involved; this old man is on the mend!

They don't chart information. They treat you like a hinderance to their job. The ignore your reply to their question that then effects your treatment. I can't walk and the staff failed to pass this information on and I had 4 separate staff ask me to get out of bed and walk to door or bathroom or to x-ray table . I. Have multiple sclerosis and can't. When telling each person they yelled at me how am I supposed to know? My reply because of the wristband or the fall risk socks or checking the charts. Or just do your job other than laughing and talking in the hall. I have called ER manager Martha Coski about two of my 3 visits that all have legal issues with her assurance that it will be taken care of. My 4th was 10/9/17. I've only lived here 1yr and 3mo. They've sent me home with mess/ treatment that in allergic to then question if I know an allergic reaction hmm hives cherry bright skin shallow breath? But they never charted sending me home with anything. So if my illnesses don't kill me there treatment will. The have print outs of me seeing doctors I never did. Medicare fraud anyone. Again probly my fault. Well guess I will have to be on their asses every to i go in training them in patient care since they can't be bothered or sue because we have rights as patients. Without us they have no practice or contracts with insurance providers. Demand patient care.

My mom went in with heart problems and ended up dying. Autopsy says the cause of death was a fentanyl overdose. Administered by St.John Medical center. I could tell you so many stories about this hospital. There staff is the absolute worst. When I called and wanted to know what was going on with my mom (around 7 pm) I was told her doctor was busy and would call me back. He never did call me back, the next call I got was from my grandma (3am) telling me my mother was dead. This hospital needs to be sued and shut down. And no I won t call your hotline. The ONLY reason I d EVER be contacting your hospital would be with my lawyer TO SUE YOU.

This is the worst hospital if it s even considered a hospital... it s honestly the worst place to go for anything, my wife was sent home while she had a miscarriage, they didn t do anything for her, she told them what was going on and they basically told her to suck it up and go home, I hope one day this place will have better medical professionals, it s truly sad how horrible St. John s is.

Worst place I have ever worked. Hostile Radiology Management. Hostile back biting employees. No Christian values here. Only corporate religion riding the coat tails of Christianity.Management is in bed with HR. There is no accountability of managerial failures. Don't go to the E.A.P. they can't help you with work place hostility issues. They are paid by Peace Health so they cant report management or they will loose their job and pension.

They after 4 times for the same thing have diagnosed something correctly. It's not a perfect world in which we live. I know that many people complain about our local hospital. I do believe on more than one time they have saved me from furthering my illnesses or sickness. The staff at times may frustrate me, however I do believe they do the best they can do. The doctors I have wondered about at times and maybe they have done the same about me. That goes both ways. The bottom line is I am alive and if it weren't for them here at this hospital I would have lost my life between The hospital and the EMT's that have helped me. For all of them as a collective insane to thank all of the doctors, staff at the emergency room and to the secretaries. Thank Peace HEALTH St. John's hospital for saving me several times. Good People. Sincerely. Michael Patrick Carrigan

I took my blind nephew to the ER. He was suffering gallbladder attack. Two of the desk attendants were giggling and playing. I finally made a very loud comment about them not being interested in helping a blind patient in pain. I said it loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear. Amazingly there was a room provided immediately for him. If you go to St John's hospital I guess you will need to make a scene in order to be cared for.

I was having horrible abdominal pain and was told ...

I was having horrible abdominal pain and was told i needed to go to the ER as it was thought I was having an appendicitis. The dr came in and told me that they were going to draw blood and if everything normal I can go home. I said that doesnt explain the horrible abdominal pain I'm feeling. He said if it makes you feel better we can do a CT. I said yes please. My blood work came back normal. I was then off to get my CT. The dr came back an explained that I have a 4cm cyst on my left ovary and a 3.5 cm on my left. I then went home no pain meds or anything I was taking 800 mg of ibuprofen the next day to calm the pain down to a duller pain. Later that I night I was in so much pain I was crying. I now had pack pain shooting up my back and to my shoulders. I then decided to go to the ER at legacy salmon creek. They got me in and the dr reviewed my CT from the previous night as they were checking for an appendicitis, she said she did see both cysts but the imagine of the appendix was not good quality. She then did an exam and decided to do an ultrasound on my gallbladder given my family history. Come to find out my gallbladder was full of gallbladder stones. Not once did the ER dr at PeaceHealth even mention anything about this. Or even do an exam for it.
Then she did a pelvic ultrasound and the left ovarian cyst was 5cm and the right 4-4.5 cm.

If I didn't request and be firm that I wanted that CT scan I wouldn't know about the ovian cyst and I have no clue why peacehealth would check my gallbladder thank goodness for legacy and their staff. How peace health is still functioning in Longview is beyond me? The amount of mistakes this hospital makes on me and other patients, I can't even fathom.

Unfortunately, I agree with the majority of review...

Unfortunately, I agree with the majority of reviews written. Although in their defense, I must add, a 16 hour or 12 hour mandatory work day would leave anyone very tired. No one can function at their top level under those conditions.
My Dr. Simmons is extremely bright in his field, I felt very fortunate to obtain him for a surgeon.
The CNAs are overworked like crazy and they have to take MANDATORY over time whether they want it or not. One CNA walked off her floor after pulling an 18 hr shift. I don't blame her. She was exhausted, had a family at home, and no one would help her on the floor.
There was always 2 bright spots in my stay there. One nurse named Brandy, the other I believe Joann, Not sure of her name.) The 2nd one worked nights and was superior. Both did everything they could to help me whenever they could.
If the Nurses would help the CNAs out more, it would not put such a work load on the CNAs. Personally, I feel the work load needs to be re-calculated between the Nurses and CNAs. Also,if there were only an 8 hour work day for all Staff, every one would be able to function at full capacity. Why not bring on more Staff so a patient does not have to lie in a wet bed, or lie in their own excrement for over 2 hours because the CNAs just don't have the time to change you or your bed? When a patient can't get out of bed to go to the bathroon, this is traumatifc and very demoralizing. My Dr. wanted me out of bed the day after surgery. It took the Nurses 3 days to finally help me get up. Dr. Simmons asked me why, so I told him. The Nurses kept telling me they did not have time to help me get up.His response was: "They had better find the time!" The next day the Nurses help me get up!

If you don t want to be billed hundreds of dollars for care you never received or asked for, consider not coming here. I came for a blood draw. After waiting 2 hours to see a nurse and get my blood drawn, I was on my way out the door when a provider came running up to me and in the doorway put a stethoscope on my chest. After one or two seconds of surprise, I continued walking out the door and they hurried away. I was billed $643.00 for an Exam from their department.

Rude and useless. Read any other negative review, based on my own experience they are all accurate. Also, "Randy" who responds to user reviews is clearly a "bot" (automated program). The disregard of this organization and their staff for all patients is quite obvious. Beware all peace health locations and providers.

Whatever you do just do not have a child here. I was there for 6 days and had 3 nice nurses the entire time. They pushed for a c section the entire 2 days I was in labor even though i am completely against it. They ended up getting there way though, the nurses were so rough with me inside that i started swelling up. Also there imaging department leaves much to be desired, first time mom and never got a picture of "it's a boy" you know and I didnt get to see it on the screen cuz she went through it so quick. They also didnt believe me when my water broke, it broke a month before they finally induced me. Then they freaked out and had like 8 people in my room when they went to break my water and guess what it was already broke like I tried telling them. I'm lucky my boy and I are alive honestly. And what I've listed here isn't even the half of it. So do yourself a favor and have your precious baby somewhere else.

This facility has the nicest and most caring people working there. WE had a fantastic nurse for my Aunt. I encountered a couple of doctors and they were equally super friendly and truly caring. I got lost and a member of the maintenance team was so wonderful to me and not only told me where to go, he took me there himself. Everyone went above and beyond. My Aunt's nurse was so loving, he acted more like a member of her family. Stroking her hair and talking so kindly to her. Need to give them more than 5 stars!!!

I was admitted through the ED, who were all kind and caring. A 4-day hospital stay went very smoothly. All nurses, CNAs and staff were very compassionate, kind and attentive. The best hospital care I've had or even seen when I've been visiting with others. A major upgrade from a 7-day stay I had there in 2009. Staff took care to try to group care like phlebotomy, stats, etc. together so I could have more rest, was quick to respond to any of my calls, take care of any of my needs and very very kind. The room was very clean and kept that way, another big improvement from 2009. I think menus could be much improved to offer healthier choices, but overall a very good stay.

I have been going to this facility for several yea...

I have been going to this facility for several years and was happy w the care and attitude displayed until my last doctor. Apparently gaining duties within managing has made her forget how to be a caring human being. I was in a terrible wreck in 2012. Most of my medical needs are being addressed by doctors and surgeons in Portland but I have an extreme case of restless legs which is the only reason I still go there. Not only was I made to feel like a junkie selling on the streets because 2 - 3 years ago when she was prescribing pain meds, they were stolen from my home, but today, as I have extreme pain in my ankle that was shattered in the wreck, I cannot move well when I'm having a worse than average day and I'm traveling 40 minutes to the clinic w no one to help me, my choice was to try and get there in time and if not, her next appt is in November and my prescription for RL will not be filled. She is the most uncaring, unprofessional doctor that I have encountered and the minions that answer the phones are rude and act like I'm doing this on purpose. Thank God doctors in Portland are more caring, as they have had great empathy and are always trying to make things easier. I've put in a request for a new doctor, but I have NO hope to be seen by anyone in a time frame that I can get the meds for my RL, so thanks alot for making what's already a difficult situation turn into a nightmare, all because of a doctor that's forgotten what being human is like.

Service and quality of health care through peace h...

Service and quality of health care through peace health groups (clinic, hospital, and the pain clinic in vancouver) are appalling at best.
I have been under the care of Dr.s since 1991, have received care in colorado, california, and in arizona and i can say with without resolve that i have never seen such confusion or disorganization in my life....
the disrespect given to patients is horrendous. take for ex. the following which i have experienced:
1. being denied the right to see an MD, not a PR or PA at the hospital. The PR denied any care except lancing an abcess. I have been on pain meds off and on since 1991, mostly on and have been denied access to pain medicine by all three supposed group holdings. I am a recent btk amputee, lost the leg after 3 years of fighting to keep it and am a type 2 diabetic.
2. the discharge nurse at the hospital wanted me to sign out for denying treatment but i didnt deny it they wouldnt give treatment. i am between primary cares and they are supposed to help me get any prescriptions filled....not here. she rolled her eyes at me not caring or wanting to care, i was treated worse than a drug addict and without respect as a human being.
3. asked my peace health primary care for crutches to get around on as i cant wear my prosthetic due to abscesses and i have no other means of getting around outside of the confines of my home without causing excruciating pain and the abscesses becoming grossly enlarged. i asked for them on september 11th. every primary care i know and ever knew, knows that the request must be made through ones hmo or other insurance coverages to get approval. i call the hmo a month later to find out why no crutches or even a letter explaining why not. they tell me that no request was made. called pc, staff tells me i need to waste time and valuable resources to make an appointment to ask the Dr. i explain to the staff that i already asked my pcp and if they could leave a message for my PcP to please make the request...they denied me this simple cost effective opportunity to place an order for crutches, which i already did, to make an appointment that was 5 weeks out. really are you kidding me

there is so much more wrong with what has happened to me
told by stand in pcp that he would only do one thing for me when i had to get in to see PcP (jan of 2014) while she is on maternity leave....one thing for me. yeah i got my diabetic meds, but would not send requests for me to see an opthamologist, the crutches or fill my pain medication. after talking to him, his staff came in and had everything about my medications distorted....had to correct the info she told to me and she even verified it with the Dr., where are his notes and proper protocols to relay info???? are we all watching the bozo the clown show???
long line at clinic? same day of lmy appoint was at 11:00 am and i get there 15 mins early and i am in really bad pain standing on abscesses under my new prosthetic (btk amputee since sept 21st 2012, less than a year and a half). person in front of me, her appt. was at 10:45. 3 people checking people in and they are slow, the new system is slow, on their cell phones or not at their desks or in the same room..25 minutes later, i get to check in, takes them less than 5 minutes to check me in,,,
the forth person checking people in was probably one of the worst. she sat behind her computer either clicking her mouse and drinking her drink while the line behind me grew to be out in the foyer almost filling that room leaving only the elements for any others before she actually started to help people get checked in......are you kidding me.......
no respect for people in pain or are ill and suffering by all levels of staffing
want more i have much more that was done and not done by staffers at all 3 peace health holdings.....

If you are having heart palpitations they will just say that you are having a panic attack and will discharge with you not even being there for 2 hours. I wish I could give them no stars. Very rude and mean people that don t care about their patients. It s pretty sad that a lot of people that live in Kelso Longview have said that they would rather die on the way to another hospital then go to St. John s. Something needs to change. A few years ago my grandma got very sick and she had medical through the state and somehow her doctors missed that she had cancer even tho they did all of the tests. She got way worse and went to another hospital because she was not getting any answers. It turns out that she had stage 4 cancer and died a few months later. So thank you St. John s for not caring and killing people. The worse hospital in Washington.

I had really hoped all these negative reviews wouldn t foreshadow my experience but they did.
My daughters pediatrician came into the room, didn t introduce himself once, immediately complained about his MA. So was I. Such an uncomfortable experience!

The staff and AMR transport are the rudest and most unprofessional individuals I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. People in the hospital are there to get care in a compassionate way. Not treated as if they are an inconvenience to you or just another pay check. These are people s lives. Any self respecting medical staff should not work at this facility because they don t care what so ever about the individuals within their care. If you want genuine human compassion and treatment versus belittled and treated like an animal then do not go to this hospital.

This review is regarding labor and delivery. I was informed by one of the nurse practitioners that performs anesthesiologists duties without being licensed to do so that there are no actual licensed anesthesiologists performing the spinals epidurals etc. for delivery and surgeries. While I m sure there will be a response to this review from the hospital it won t change the fact that I have a recorded phone call from one of the practitioners that performs these duties telling me that none of them are licensed but it s ok because they ve been doing it so long. Unless you re ok with being poked by an unqualified person I would look elsewhere for labor and delivery.

My mother went to this hospitial for a bladder infection that went too long, they ended up mixing medications that dont go together and she started to experience difficulty breathing, her lups were turning blue & they couldn't understand what the problem was as she repeatedly said she couldn't breathe. They ended up figuring out their mistake after quite some time and gave her something to help her breathe. She still didnt feel right after days. All for a simple bladder infection!

Update: I love the people on the maternity floor and the care they give us this time. We would use them again!
We have not been very pleased with care in the ER in the past ans other issues but I do believe that they are improving.
Old Review:
I give 1 star for the existing as a hospital but as for the remaining stars they probably killed them with their incompetence on the maternity floor there are a couple exceptions but they are not well trained they use scare tactics and how many nurses does it take to put in an IV they spent more than 10 minutes to put an Iv into a healthy 40 year old woman. My wife's hands and arms at beat to death from their stabbings the midwife was however very capable to put it in the first time. ...I could go on but who is going to read it. I'll give back a star for the RN that is very patient conscious and friendly

Great staff, top to bottom. During a day and a a half stay, surgery staff and then floor staff were friendly, sincere, and competent. Interacted personally with 16 people -doctors, nurses, aids, techs, and to a person we felt cared for. Thank you.

I went to the ER today because I was having shortness of breath, dizziness and confusion due to pnemonia that I was diagnosed with a few days ago. My husband and I got to the ER and were taken back to take vitals and information. We then went back to the lobby to wait. After two hours we had watched two full sets of people come and go through the lobby and still my name was not called. My husband asked how much longer until I was taken back to be seen and was informed that I would be next. We then sat and watched another 10 or so more people taken back and several people we had seen come in be discharged. Finally decided to leave and look for other options for treatment.

After returning home, I called peacehealth billing and my insurance company and both informed me that I will most likely receive a 200$ copay bill. This makes me very upset.

I am very displeased with the service and attention I received at this medical establishment. I have run into many other issues concerning my primary care physician and other issues with peacehealth in general. My husband and I have changed our primary care physician to a doctor down in portland and will not being doing any further business with peacehealth. I would not recommend this organization to anyone.

Most visits by far have been better than expected ...

Most visits by far have been better than expected interactions with staffers. I have had the best medical team caring for me since moving to the SW Washington area in 2012.

Stroke, Spinal Stenosis, diabetes and hypertension.

Issues I have had that are entirely unforgivable are all centered around the State of Washington tying the hands of my medical professionals. State officials should stay out of medicine entirely, and even should avoid politics as well. The US Constitution has one theme to limit government. Thus, whenever the limitations of The Constitution have been exceeded, the citizens are placed at risk in every area of their life.

Because of this, St. John's PeaceHealth Medical Center in Longview, WA maintains excellent healthcare services where ever they can in spite of being located in Washington State.

A word about "diversity". What a waste of good investments being racists about skin color. Instead of diversity, lets just be color blind instead? People of all color and creed left places around the globe to come to America for Liberty, not diversity. If you can't be color blind, then you are a racist.

Some of the staff have a terrible bedside manner. My mom had an appointment there today to get some kind of test done. Whoever scheduled the appt forgot to mention that she was supposed to fast. So when she got there, asked her how long it had been since she had eaten or drank anything. She explained that nobody had told her not to, and the lady essentially called her a liar, and my sister a liar, because my sister was the one who actually made the appt.

This is one of the worst hospital's I've ever had to go to. I was in excruciating pain and not one time was I asked about my pain level or medical history. I had an abscess on my back (well that's what the doctor said after galncing at it for a second. Then proceeded to numb the area to be lanced without really telling me what he was doing, then left, the person with me talked to the doctor about anything to relieve my pain and was told no, he didn't even want to give me ibuprofen even after seeing me bawl due to how bad it hurt even after the area should have been well numb. I'm laying there(having to basically be held down) crying and squirming due to the amount of pain I was in as the doctor cut me open and stretched the heck out of the skin on my back, squeeze and pushed around, he proceeded to tell me that it doesn't hurt that bad and didn't really bother to even explain to me what he was doing. The doctor didn't talk to me about any kind of after care, gave me a script of antibiotics and sent me on my way. I will never go to this hospital again unless I will die if I have to go 40 minutes away. They're rude and don't care about the patients. Not everyone who gets an abscess is a drug addict and that's exactly how they treated me.

I have a relative who is a patient there, I'm not going to mention names but the head nurse for our relative told us basically that the other patient next to my relatives was more important than my relatives because they were sicker and went on to tell us the patients medical condition which was very unprofessional. Furthermore the nurse was very rude and said these things in front of a current patient.

My son got vaccinated against my wishes. After giving birth I was asked if I wanted them to give my newborn the hepatitis B vaccination that day. I very clearly said no and that he would receive it together with the rest of his vaccinations from his pediatrician LATER. I even signed a paper stating that he would NOT receive it that day. 2 weeks later on the well child visit, his pediatrician told me that according to his files they did vaccinate him right after birth anyways. I am so angry and I can't even get to talk to anyone at St John about this, they keep transferring me around until I end up leaving a message on a machine, but nobody ever calls back. I don't think anybody at St John cares about their patients...

Went in for kidney stone pain, which I usually manage myself, but was visiting from out of state and this one hit particularly hard. Only received an IV and pain meds. Doc was in for 2-3 mins after reviewing my charts and we agreed I'd talk to Doc back home about next steps. No x-rays or other additional steps were taken. I was in the ER for all of 45 mins and received bill for over $1700 by St. Johns, not counting Doc bill. Ridiculous. The people were nice, but not worth $1700. No wonder the US medical system is such a mess. Also, thanks to all the lawyers who wanna sue everyone for causing higher medical fees as well. Life in America.

Staff have been amazing to me from day one! After my emergency visit to the er in 2019. I established care with this facility. My condition has been on going since 2013 with no answers from over 8 different doctors over the years. All those years full of disrespectful, and waste of time doctors that claimed I was making stuff up or 100% healthy. Peace health ended up being the place that finally figured it out!!! I am very thankful for everything. Wow!!!

The ER department needs more and better doctors. ...

The ER department needs more and better doctors. I went there for severe bone pain. After waiting for hours, I was told I had UTI. I was prescribed a questionable antibiotic I told them I did not want to take and a pain med I was allergic to. Still in severe pain, 2 days later I had friends take me back to the ER as nothing grew on the culture and was told I didn't meet their criteria to be there. A male nurse had to dress me and wheel me to the door as I was unable to dress myself or walk. I felt that I was just kicked to the curb. A week later I was x-rayed at an independent lab and was ultimately diagnosed with bone lesions and dislocated hip due to myelomia. I have never had a helpful experience at this ER.

By far the worst experience I ve ever had. The staff cannot honor requests that allow females to see females doctors. Ive been left unable to leave without signing and AMA which voids my insurance and unable to receive treatment because of my preference to be treated only by medical professionals of the same gender as me. This has become my medical nightmare. The staff has tried to coerce me into allowing a man to do a procedure which I have repeatedly said I will not allow a man to do. I ve been told by multiple employees to just let him do it I m saddened and dismayed that none of these medical professionals respect that I would only like to receive this type of medical care from someone that is the same gender as me. As a younger patient I ve been brushed off and told to just do it because that s what they would tell their kids to do. This is both insulting and unprofessional as I am an adult in the midst of a medical emergency. At this point I m totally at a loss, medical professionals should treat patients as patients regardless of their age or religious preferences. As a hospital PeaceHealth should be able to honor their patients religious views, mine prevent me from allowing a man to preform a procedure on me. I m stuck in a hospital that refuses to provide me the care I need and which refuses to transfer or discharge me. The behavior I witnessed in my stay here has been nothing short of criminal, hopefully I manage to leave without having to go AMA and without being forced to compromise my beliefs. So far I have been deeply and unequivocally disappointed. PeaceHealth the actions of the staff at this hospital are an embarrassment to the medical community, I have seen that this hospital is full of biased employees who are willing to employ coercion and I ve been denied my right as a patient to consult with another doctor, My beliefs have been belittled, I have received neither compassionate nor respectful care. Avoid this place at all costs.

My doctor is based out of SJMC (his clinic is inside the hospital) and he is by far the best doctor I've ever had. I've had doctors in CA, OR, and WA. His bedside manner is fantastic and his medical staff are amazing.

No hospital is perfect, of course, but I have never been appalled or disgusted by any aspect of this hospital. I've been in the ED for family issues and as someone who has seen behind the scenes.

My 4-year old son had to go because of a deep laceration on his scalp and, instead of the doctor just throwing some staples in there and charging us for it, he told us that we could do that if we chose, or we could let it heal on its own. I appreciated his candor. My husband had to go there because of a broken nose; and, while they couldn't do anything for his nose except give him an ice pack, the bed side manner of both the nurse and the doctor who saw us were very kind.

I had always heard horror stories about this hospital (my son was born in OR because of that) but I have seen nothing so far that would validate those stories. SJMC has been fantastic so far, and I'm excited about delivering baby #2 in town this summer.

My sister had a small stroke. They repetitively told us she was brain dead and in a vegetative state. They talked about DNR's and organ transplantation. They pushed like car salesmen calling us names because we wouldn't pull the plug and let them harvest her. I was so scared they would kill her that I notified my priest and an attorney! One hour after leaving their "facility" my sister awoke from being overly medicated. The doctors at her new facility couldn't fathom why she'd been doped up like that. Its been a few months. She's fine now and has all of her faculties. She intends to sue and I wish her luck. This place is scary. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM IF THEY SAY YOUR RELATIVE IS BRAIN DEAD!!!!! THEY LIE!!!!! I've read several posts and several reviews from people that said they are nice there and the place is clean, and I would agree that they were nice for the most part and the place was clean. However they were inept when it comes to practicing medicine.

Every person man and woman has the right to choose their own doctor without being disrespected. By placing me with a new doctor against my will, I am being told that I am not intelligent enough to make my own choice. No man or women deserves to be disrespected in such a way and downsized.

I refuse to go to this hospital for any kind of emergency care or surgery. Had my newborn granddaughter turn blue on us in the parking garage and the ER doc just said, Well she's not blue now. My son had a textbook case of mono, couldn't diagnose, said the hugely swollen lymphnodes were just something that happens when you're sick. Sent my 4 month old grandaughter home with a 103 fever saying it was just an ear infection when here ears looked fine. Ended up being a terrible UTI and she was hospitalized in Doernbechers for 5 days.

A close friend of mine currently staying at this hospital pushed her call nurse button for 26 minutes as she was having a great deal of trouble breathing. After 26 minutes passing no one came to her room, she had to end up calling the hospital itself and asking the information desk to put her through to the nurses station of the floor she was on! Now, tell me what kind of a review do you all think St.Johns Hospital deserves???

If you dont wan to read all of this, skip to the e...

If you dont wan to read all of this, skip to the end for the worst statement by a nurse ever made.

It took 3 hours for them to see me in the emergency room for a suspected ruptured ectopic pregnancy that is life threatening. 3 HOURS just to be seen. They took a urine test and sent me back to the waiting room. When I finally got a room I had to wait another half hour for a very rude nurse by the name of Sharla to see me. She had no idea what a cornua ectopic (my last ectopic) was and mocked me and said I made it up and she had to go look it up. She asked me a few questions and left. She left the door to my room wide open and within a few minutes I could hear her loudly gossiping about my personal situation with my boyfriend (he was abusive and I moved here to get away from him). She said I was irresponsible for leaving when I was pregnant. (I found out after I even moved here.)

It gets worse.

When the doctor finally came into see me (about another 30 minutes), he improperly conducted a quick physical examination where he HARDLY touched me and asked if it hurt. Keep in mind, i could have been having internal bleeding from a ruptured ectopic that requires immediate attention...I refused his order for a pelvic exam and requested an immediate ultrasound and bloodwork (which is the standard procedure for ectopics). He also interrupted me whenever I tried giving him an answer or providing necessary information. Never once did he look in my eye as he was talking to me, nor did he listen to anything I said.

The ultrasonographer was very rude and told me not to ask any questions and the vag. u/s she conducted was very rough and harsh.

When the doctor came back in he stood halfway in the door and gave as little information as possible about my results and then he immediately turned around and walked out as I was trying to ask a question!!

This is the WORST YET:

The nurse, upon giving me my discharge papers, explained to my mother and me why me and every other patient there receives such poor and inadequate treatment. You wont believe what she said:

"When people like you (on state health insurance) come in we only make 10% of what we can charge everybody else for the same procedures. On top of that when you complain we dont get reimbursed at all. If it weren't illegal to turn people away we would not hesitate to do so, because you can only be a humanitarian for so long before you have to pay your bills instead." My thought was, why do you give such terrible treatment and disrespect to people when you say you depend on patient satisfaction to get paid for services? Shouldnt you treat them better so they give that positive review you need? Apparently making 10% of what they can charge everybody else is not worth their time. We are no longer patients, we are CUSTOMERS.

Its about money. If you dont have it they will just let you die because saving you wont pay their bills. But the guy coming in with a broken toe that has good insurance? They will come running to that guy as you lay there bleeding to death.

The doctor was the rudest doctor I have ever met. He's name was Goff. I tested positive for covid. I was told that hospital couldn't take patients. I wasnt told that the emergency room could take the covid patients. Mr Goff Goff came in while my husband was in there and said I tested positive. And told my husband don't worry about the mask. Because he had it. Our grand children had it and don't worry about it. I was transferred to southwest in Vancouver because I was told I couldn't stay because of covid. I wouldn't take my dog to the emergency room.

I just saw Dr. Nakashima for CFS/M.E. because he is listed on a directory of specialists that treat it. He was very rude and unprofessional the whole time, didn't really listen to me at all, my information I brought or past lab work.

I'm not seeing him again and likely going to contact the medical board and file a complaint and likely going to contact the hospital as well. I also advised the online directory to remove him from the directory
