To all future cabiners; as expected you will be in the middle of the woods, no problem! But when you think cabin you think heat, right? Well don t expect that here! Bring your own space heater with you. Also if you call to confirm that they have grills at every cabin, expect to crouch down over your fire pit to cook your food. I guess they consider a grate to be a grill. Also bring lanterns and flashlights, because it is pitch black out there. They don t light up the road with little solar lights or anything.

When we first got there to check in, we just opened the door and got rudely screamed at before we stepped in the building. We are respectful people and like to converse face to face so we waited til we got to the counter to hand over our information.

Expect a little walk from the cabins to the dirty bathrooms. They clean the toilets in the morning but not the shower. Filthy filthy shower.

We for sure will not return.

It was so peaceful and beautiful. The staff and park rangers so nice. The prices for the camping lots are reasonable, oh and the beach area very clean. The only thing is bathrooms only had one shower so you hace a line. And it does need some cleaning up. Besides that, I am planing my next trip back this month.

It is a good weekend getaway for southern new Hampshire residents. It has nice camp grounds, trails and a small lake beach. Though not maintained very well, but it is still worth visiting. Kids enjoy a lot as water is not deep and still. There is kayaking and canoeing also available so overall good activity spot for families.

WOW! Loved this place! What a gem of a campground! We had site 1 on Horse Island and it was perfect. We stayed for 5 nights at the campground and the showers/bathrooms where really clean. The park was really quiet at night and the park rangers often drove by to make sure everyone was having a safe and great time but did not intrude on your privacy, the staff was really friendly. Lake side camping at its best! We canoed, hiked, biked and swam and we still didn't get it all done. The beach area was really clean and the water crystal clear. If you stay at site 1 on Horse Island be aware that a friendly skunk comes out to the site every night around 9am. We named him Stuwey the skunk! Ducks and turkeys also came to the site. The town close to the park had everything we needed; Dunkin Donuts, Grocery store, gas station, ice-cream and a place that makes great subs if you don't want to cook at the site. I have already booked our site for next year. I cant wait!!

Great place! Not only for families but for people without kids too. You can find a corner of the beach or out on the trails or in the park areas to escape from people because the place is big. One of the better state parks of this style in NH. Cheap and easy way to spend a day keeping you and your family busy!

Beautiful campground. Seems to be run by high schoolers, though not complaining. The water sites are fabulous! Not a place to go for peace and quiet so it is family friendly. On recent trip was awoken after 10 pm by fireworks that were close by.

There is a beautiful collection of boulders on the Eastern side of the park that is a great spot for rock climbing, and also a series of trails that winds through a variety of ecosystems that is a pleasant hike.
The only downside is that the main park entrance does not allow dogs, which is kinda annoying... I am not really sure why the dog ban is in place, because you can still bring dogs in via the trails leading into the park, just not via the main road.

Had a great Sunday here in mid-September. $5 per adult. Nice clean bathrooms and large beach. The swimming area gets very gradually deeper, to 6' at the ropes. We grabbed a picnic table under the pines, on the edge of the beach, for our base camp for the day. Kids had a great time in the water and on the large playground.

What a beautiful state park!! Plenty of trails and land to hike. Just pay attention a lot of the markers have faded overtime. Easy to get lost in such a big place. Amazing veiws! Enjoy your hike and nature's beauty!!!!

This park has a nice sandy beach surrounded by pine trees. A dozen of benches and grills in the shade. Swimming area has a warm water; maximum depth is ~7 feet. Floats, tubes, snorkels etc are allowed. No lifeguard on duty. Restrooms with running water. Boat rental and a convenience nearby (3 min walk). Online reservation needed to access the beach due to the Covid-19.

We really like camping here. It's unfortunate that it's getting so popular that everything is booked a year out. Yet, when you actually go, 50% of the sites are just empty. I'm guessing people from Boston are just booking it up "in case" they decide to go. Would be better if they went back to taking walkups and not booking the entire place long in advance. That's why they lose a star.

I have been going to Patuckaway since I was 6, so 44 years. It IS my favorite State Park in New Hampshire. Boat , canoe, and pedal boat rentals are available, changing rooms, modern bathroom facilities, a small store for stuff you forgot (slightly expensive, but not outrageous) trails, fishing, camping, concrete fireplaces for day use, swimming beach with lifeguards, large parking area, picnic tables, swing/playset for the kiddies. What's not to like.

The place in itself is gorgeous, there s much to do, a great beach and a few gorgeous trails. However, my party and I booked for 2 nights. The first night there was extremely loud and explicit screaming from another campsite. A camp guard and three police officers came to the scene. Fast forward to the second night and an entirely different group of people are screaming and throwing out racial slurs across the park. Upon calling the office 5 times with no answer, the police showed up. Again. It appears after 5 PM when the store closes the campers are left on their own in the woods with no employees around. Needless to say within an hour of the second night of police officers, we departed the campsite and will not be returning.Update: I called this morning to let them know what happened and the staff member hung up on me.

One of the best state parks in NH. The sites are very clean and the staff is very friendly. When staying over, book your site in advance to get a waterfront site on the small island.

Really great and accessible trails, both for hiking and mountain biking. Great bouldering on the north west end of the park. Really nicely varied terrain. Riding as difficult as you're willing to make it really.

Great campsite with some privacy. Water access on many sites. We go every year. Bathrooms could use some work. Kind of dirty but that's because of the public being slobs. They do get cleaned every day.

We went on a rainy day, but still a beautiful place. The bacteria levels were high in the water, so we were nervous about our littles, but there were many children and families in the water. Restrooms were open, but not terribly clean.
