This was my first time staying at this park and I had a great time. Other than a couple of the toilets not working in the women's bathroom close to our cabin, really didn't have any problems. Next time my boyfriend and I go camping there, we will definitely do more things.

Beautiful campgrounds full of wildlife. The beach seems to be closed for bacteria at least once evertime we camp there, but the park offers trails for beginners and more experienced hikers.

Hubby and I camped here for three nights recently. Just two negative things: with the frequency of staff servicing the toilet/shower houses you'd think they could spray the shower stall floor with some bleach/water. It was kind of nasty, I would NEVER go barefoot in there. Missing shower curtain rings too. The meter was broken so there was unlimited hot water and shower time. The other thing was there was no place to wash our dishes but we managed. Very, very nice place to camp though. Just bring your flip flops for the shower!

Pawtuckaway is a beautiful look into nature that's great for hiking or swimming. In the past I have heard concerning things about levels of bacteria in the water, every one I know who has been in the lake has been perfectly fine though.

Beautiful park with forested walking/hiking/running trails, also has a beach on the lake, and a big playground and picnic area which is good for kids. Lots of areas to explore so it requires return trips to check it all out. Has a general store near the entrance for trail information and souvenirs, and also a snack shop near the lake.

Campsite was covered with trash as was beach and everywhere else. Firepit full of trash. Bathrooms dirty and smelly. Pretty resource, poorly managed. Goose poop on beach and playground. Water bacteria levels too high to swim in lake.

Just spent 4 nights and have been going my whole life. Certainly things have changed some for better others for not but overall a great place to camp. So absolutely dead quite during the night this last trip. The owls and loons were the only noise we heard and that was awesome. Couple screaming kids in the morning but I'm sure my boys were heard once or twice. The bacteria was high in the water but what can you do. It's from wildlife and runoff from the rains. I caught a lunker large mouth bass (4lbs) one night and highly recommend some top water night fishing. Also caught a bunch during the day by the bridge in the no wake area. Overall my family and especially the 3 boys I brought (7-11 yrs old) had a blast. Clean bathrooms and sites. Carry in carry out means Clean up after yourself! Follow the rules and you should have a great time. Thanks as always state of NH.

They're not enforcing the rules at the beach..people bring their on tables & not used. but take 3 tables from the park & fold the one they brought..u think this is fair to alder..today l seeing patty's with 4 tables, some family had no choice to return to their home because there was no place to set up or to sit.. whoever is in charge is not doing the job right..

I love this campground and state park. I originally came here for the first time because I was looking for places to use my new kayaks. I ve been back every year because of the wide variety of activities. It is such a large park that s perfect for hiking as well. Fishing is great, sunsets are amazing, lake front campsites are to die for.

We rented a cabin in September. The place was quiet as a mouse when we went up. Just a nice place to bring the family, definitely recommend the cabins. I'd give it 5 stars if I didnt have raccoons under my cabin. Haha.

Beautiful scenery is amazing and foliage is starting to change. Took a star away because even though I wasn't staying the night, just visiting family at a site, they charged me $10 stating that after two adults at a site they have to charge...

I was last at Pawtuckaway in 1997. I had nice memories of the park, so I was thrilled when a waterfront site on Big Island became available for the entire 4th of July weekend. My site was 116 and is a great site. Park staff were excellent and the bathrooms clean. I was able to rent a kayak for an entire day. The lake and many islands and islets are fantastic. My only complaint has nothing to do with the park. It's the noisey boats. Too many jet skis and loud boats blasting music until 11 PM.

I spent the past weekend there, camping in site 29 which was a great site. The campground and park are quite lovely, with lots of trails and a decent site beach - because it was unseasonably warm, we enjoyed a swim. There are kayak and canoe rentals, though we didn't have time. Quiet hours seemed to be enforced and adhered to - when we called the ranger's office prior to the start of quiet hours to complain about an extremely noisy group, we were told they couldn't do anything until 10 PM, but they'd make sure to swing by after 10 - it got nice and quiet at 10! The only issue was that the bathrooms didn't seem to have been attended all weekend, and the campground was full. The trash was overflowing by Saturday evening, and a toilet was clogged Saturday morning and never fixed. I would have thought at least once a day attendance to the facilities would happen, particularly on days with so many campers.

Had a very pleasant experience at Pawtuckaway State Park. We went pretty late in the season so a lot of things were closed, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. The staff was super friendly and upbeat, which made for a nice atmosphere. The views were beautiful, and serene. Like most other state parks the campsites were compact dirt, hard to put tent stakes into, and the sites are all very close to one another, but not on top of each other, so there is a slim privacy.

Gorgeous lake and rangers were friendly. Took our kayaks here and even took a break at the small island in the middle of the lake. Also have camping and residential housing around the lake

I go here every year for the fourth but this time a guy named Paul ( I think is his name) He was at the gate to check in. My other half told him I was coming in late do to me having to work late. Paul was so sweet and nice he needs to be recognized for a job well done. He is the first person that mde an impression on me so I hope I got his name right. 7/2/2019

Awesome park with solid amenities, good little corner store and a well kept bathroom and park. Also have canoe launches and places to grill food, all this for a pretty cheap entry fee. Our favorite family park.

I went to the boulder trail, very difficult to find even after stopping at the main station. Several dirt roads then did the boulder trail (which I have seen rocks like that all over the state) and north peak (which didn't have any unobstructed views) none of which were worthwhile and very muddy and buggy. The lake was shallow and muddy and full of plants not good for wading in.

Camping at Pawtuckaway is always a treat! The lake is clean, shoreline always trash free, helpful camp store attendants, kayak and canoe rentals make the experience that much more wonderful! They limit the number of people who can use the beach at one time, which is nice! Little islands off the coast of the main beach are fun to explore in your canoe, or kayak!

Don t come here on busy holidays paid to get in I was 5th in line then when I walk in all the campers took all the grills. Why wouldn t they leave the grills for the people that are there for the day? Why can t they install more grills for people?

Luck is you best friend here. My family and I drove for 2 hours to get there. Prior to leaving house we called and were informed by the staff that they did not reserve camp sites but we were free to use the beach in case the camp sites were full. Upon our arrival we were told all camp sites were full and the beach reached capacity. The staff at the front desk was rude and did not care to help us find a different place to go. What it was supposed to be a nice weekend with the family turned out to be a nightmare. I wish they would have informed us that the beach could be closed before I drove for 2 hours.

This was a great park for a quick stop. My girlfriend and I showed up in the rain looking for a place to camp. The service was speedy and friendly. Although we couldn't enjoy the park lake or trails the bathrooms were very clean and noise in the camping area was to a minimum. Be sure to bring lots of bug spray! We stayed at site 82 that night which was nice. We went to the lake beach early in the morning before anyone showed up to the park and the water was crystal clear and refreshing. Beach was clean and sand was perfect. We then went to main for a week and decided to stop here again on our way home. This time at site 110 with a lake view. Very nice, level, bugs! Bring lots of bur spray. This was earlier in the day so we decided to go to the beach for a swim. Many more people bbq'n and playing in the water. The lifeguards are very young and there were a lot of day camps going on but still nice. Hard to tell if people were drinking but a group of people were smoking from a huka? Didn't think it was legal to do that. Overall a great park. Wish we had more time to spend there.

I rarely leave reviews but the place was so fantastic I thought I'd share.
We stayed on Horse Island #59 across from the water. I'm glad we stayed there personally because the waterfront had water to close for comfort but all of the sites are beautiful.
We stuck bug repellant sticks in the ground that burn and only experienced an hour of bugs but thankfully never saw mosquitos.

Place was clean and quiet.
Enjoyed our stay.

Always a great time. Tried the cabins this time. Very comfortable and enjoyed having electricity. Nearest restrooms and shower were .25 miles away. Often had cars turning around in our driveway due to being dead end road.

Wide expansive park with good trails, either freshly marked or well-worn and easy to identify. Good for short to medium length, easy to moderate hiking. Boulders dot the landscape around nice small ponds.
