My husband and I have been travelling to NYC for weekend getaways quite often. We checked in to this hotel with my husband Saturday afternoon and our worst NYC hotel experience started.
When we arrived at the valet parking, there was another car pulled up in front of us, so we were ignored as if the valet boy couldn t see a full size SUV right in front of your hotel door. We had to take out all of our own luggage, no trolley for us to use, and no help offered. We dragged our luggage inside, it s only when we got into the line to check-in, a man hurried over and gave us a slip - which they charged us EXTRA because our car is bigger than standard.
See the irony here? When it s your turn to service us, you couldn t us even if our car is XL , but when it s your turn to charge us, all of a sudden our car is XL .
Fine, a little bit extra, who cares, let s move on.
We dropped off our own luggage in the room, and headed out to Broadway show.
We returned to the hotel room 11:30PM. When we got into the room we heard a high-pitch squeaking noise from the bathroom. Went in to check what s going on , turned out the shower faucet was making the constant noise. It was so loud that with a closed bathroom door we couldn t even hear our TV. Called the Maintenance number, lady on the phone told us she put in a service ticket but no ETA for the fix, and that most likely tomorrow morning. I turned on the speaker and asked if she could hear the noise herself. She confirmed she did - so she sent a guy here around midnight. The guy checked around and said there s nothing he could do right there then. He suggested us sleeping with a closed bathroom door. We asked him to try it himself to see if it s possible. He realized it s still crazy loud but he couldn t do anything. We told him to report this to the front desk and we would need to change rooms.
Then the front desk called us, saying they are 100% booked for the night, and no other room available. We offered to pay extra for an upgrade but were refused. The lady offered to waive our resort fee - which is really nice of her but didn t solve our problem. As we were not ready to repack our luggage again and try to find another hotel room in NYC after midnight, she said she would send us some earplugs. Then a maid came with ONE pair of earplug , when on the registration it clearly said TWO guests. She whined about how she had to go back and get another pair for us , and made us wait until 1:30AM. We were both too tired with the drama for the past 2 hours so we fell asleep with earplugs and headphones of our own music.
The next day around the plumber banged on our door SO loud when we were still in bed. Understood he's got his work to finish off as well, we hurried out of the room.

The concierge went off to broadcast the exact same message 4 TIMES within 10 minutes. Come on, obviously your message is NOT understood by the guests (otherwise they would have stopped running), say something else? Use some empathy please? Most of your hotel guests are from places where English is not their first language. All they heard is 'Attention . Fire alarm' , of course they would run!
Finally it took him 5 times of try to say '

Good

Just viewing the hotel from the exterior and in the lobby it seems like a beautiful hotel but there are not nearly enough elevators for the size of the hotel. Also the walls and the rooms are too thin making you hear every noise

The location is great, but $33/night resort fee is ridiculous when you don't have any amenities to offer. Not even a water bottle. 65$/night parking you can park at another hotel that's even nicer for cheaper than that.

my husband and I had the pleasure to check in and met with VITO :) , he was the best 5 stars for him so nice , helpful and even gave us an upgrade , we are very pleased with this hotel , always nice , friendly staff , nice place and great location , i would def recommend **********

Walked in to a broken air conditioner in my room which was later "fixed" but still wouldn't get the room below 72 degrees. Called to get my car out of valet and was told 20-30 minutes; when I went to pick it up, it was not available and hadn't even been ordered out of the garage. I requested and was granted a late checkout time of 1 pm. My room was then bombarded by cleaning staff twice WITHOUT knocking at 9 and 11am. At 9am I was naked and didn't even get an apology. Would not recommend.

Not as glamorous as one might expect for the location, our "high floor" view included piles of garbage on the lower section's roof. Rooms were so-so, definitely not very spacious, though clean enough. The lobby included few, if any, real amenities besides a bar and a place to print airline tickets. Price was "good" for midtown Manhattan location, but seriously, some updates and better customer service would have made a difference.

Regrettable Decision. NO AMENITIES and HORRIBLE service. My husband, myself and our friend traveled all the way from Florida. A friend recommended this hotel to us so we were excited. I didn t get any particular kind of deal on the room rate and honestly paid less staying at the Westin Grand Central before arriving at Park Central earlier in the trip. We walk into our room and our phone was broken, there was no coffee or tea maker, no menu or restaurant, room was dirty and dust covered the furniture. The lady who checked us in said maybe 2 words and didn t explain the hotel or even tell us if there was a gym, so there I was on my trip looking up the website to try and find where the gym was located or where I could get food. We had just arrived from The Westin where we were immediately upgraded to a larger room to accommodate the 3 of us because they had the room available, we didn t even ask for this upgrade. When we get to park central I asked the girl if there were extra rooms that we could upgrade to and she said yes but they were $60 extra a night. So basically that was an up sell not an upgrade. This place nickels and dimes you instead of going above and beyond for guests. My husband had to go downstairs finally because we couldn t get the phone to work. The manager (didn t get her name but she was Asian), gives him a to-go menu to a pizza joint nearby and tells him she ll send someone up to look at our phone in the morning. This place is such a disappointment and their entire staff is a joke in terms of how they treat their guests or compensating for the inconveniences imposed on guests. Thanks for the to-go food menu! LOL.

The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is that you are unable to control the temperature in the room. One night the room was warm and the maintenance worker said the best they could do was to open the windows, because this time of year they don't have the air conditioning on. The next night the weather changed and it was very cold outside, the maintenance worker said that as the temperatures decrease outside, the hotel adjusts their main unit. The front desk did offer a space heater, so that was a nice gesture. Overall, I would stay here again because it is clean and the location is perfect.

I love this hotel. We've stayed here twice. It's convenient location is great for walking/taking transit to anywhere in the city. The rooms have been very clean and nice both times. No complaints. We aren't in our rooms very much besides to sleep and take a short break from running around the city. We plan to come back this year to visit so we'll most likely be staying here again!

This place is perfectly located in uptown New York City just minutes away from Central Park and really expensive diners and the subway. Other than the location you are getting average amenities.

This place really is good for sleeping and showering. The elevators are small, the rooms are designed for you to sleep and shower and get out on the town. That's it. It's really not all that comfortable to hang out in. But that's New York. The only thing big here is the tab.

The bed (king size) was comfortable, great pillows and the house keeping staff very friendly. As well as very clean.

The view from the room was of a brick wall.

Don't expect much noise insulation from other rooms. You can hear EVERYTHING! and they can hear you.

For the price...I would not come back to this place again. Nonetheless; I would give this place a big "okay".

Great hotel in a really good location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us with everything. The rooms were a little bit small but the room price was worth it. Had a great time.

on 12.24.18 me my wife stayed at this location in room 923. we used Groupon to book the room. the price was very reasonable. the hotel was very nice. the room was small but nice. a little disappointed that the room had no view. it showed an area that face other hotel rooms. but for what I paid I didn't mind. the bed was very comfortable. in the lobby there is a bar/lounge and cafe and store where you can buy food drinks and snacks. the hotel staff was very welcoming and ready to help. we checked in at 4pm and check out was at 12noon. so much to see and do in the area that we spent very little time in the hotel. when you step out the door. you have an amazing view of billboard lights from time square the draws you in. forcing you to walk down to time square. other attraction include Rockerfeller center. central park, radio city music hall and many great stores and restaurants. at the end of our stay i was surprised to receive a $41.00 facilities use tax. considering Groupon charged a $35.00 Sales tax when I booked the stay, but once again for what I paid for the room. it didn't seem unreasonable. if you are looking for a nice place to stay in midtown with access to wide variety of things to do(many at no or low cost). I would definitely recommend the Park central hotel. oh and Groupon.

*ZERO STARS IF I COULD FOR NO SANITATION AND TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!* Our group of friends were very excited to begin our trip in NYC but what we didn t know is that Park Central Hotel was the most unsanitary place we would go to on our trip. When we first walked in it was fine but we opened the closet to find nasty socks in side out and hanging. We called the front desk 4 times and they still did not come after saying we will send someone immediately . Look who lied, this service was terrible. Because we kept calling, the front desk blocked our number! What if we needed them later on? Well turns out we did. On the last day we were packing up and I flipped the top of my bag over to close it. I screamed guys I think there is a cockroach on my bag . Everyone screamed and jumped on top of the beds. We couldn t call the front desk because they had blocked our number, but luckily we had someone else to call who could help. We were all scared out of our minds at this horrible experience. I know for a fact NONE of us will ever stay at this terribly unsanitary hotel ever again.

3 stars for location, room cleanliness and overall daily service. Very busy hotel though. We got stuck with kids obnoxiously screaming & running around the halls at 2:45am. I talked to management but they didn't care. So be prepared for buses full of tourists and kids trips. If you're spending this much money per night you might want to keep looking.

Great location that is close to many points of interest in the city including Times Square, Central Park, and famous and popular restaurants. Room was modern and clean. We had a very comfortable stay.

Worst hotel I ve been to unsanitary blood stains on the bed sheets the air conditioning doesn t work the room stinks no refrigerator and on top of that they don t even supply you with something as small as toothpaste. You make reservations and upon arrival they tell you about a mandatory $50 rooming fee which is unnecessary. Upon checking out they only refund $10 back which I have yet to receive. Their customer service sucks they are expensive with customers but cheap with us at the same time. I had a better time at YO TEL hotel which was very affordable with great customer service. If I could give this review zero stars I would this hotel made my visit to New York bad. The reviews will tell you it s good but trust me your experience with this hotel will be the worst save your time and money please.

This hotel was the worst hotel I ve ever stayed in. First off there was dirty crusty socks our room when we all fist entered. We called the front desk to come and remove them imidiatly and they ended up coming in to get them out at around midnight. They never made our second bed and did a horrible job of cleaning as you could tell. Then right before we left the hotel as we were packing up, my roommate had found a cockroaches on her suitcase. We were all screaming and calling for help. Eventually one of our friends came and got us out of the room. The hotel did nothing about coming to help us and before we called her we tried calling the front desk and they ended up cutting our phone off the first night so we couldn t call. I was so mortified and livid that i was screaming in the lobby while I got no re embursing. Unbelievable.

What a dump! Hotel is in dire need of a major renovation. Paid over $350 a night for a double queen and wasn't worth it. Peeling paint in bathroom, grout in shower was disgusting. Furniture is old, dented, dinged and ugly. I wish at check out the gal had asked how our stay was, but she didn't, not sure if that was intentional or she's just not very good at customer service. The ONLY nice thing about this hotel is it's location.

We had late check out, they turned keys off before our check out time making it impossible to get up the elevator or in to our room. Asked the front desk attendant to turn on our keys. He pointed for me to stand in an hour long check in line. Housekeeper irons refused to help even though their own guest services asked her to.

Hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Drinks were well made. Entertainment was by far the best part of our evening. The artist who performed really made the vibe. Came into the middle of a set, but I think her/their name was Songhe

great location between central park and times square, also close to subway stops. rooms are nice, beds comfortable, staff pleasant.
pay attention to the type of reservation you do. some you can't choose your bed type etc. also some people get coffee/breakfast and some don't.
1st time to NYC? here's some tips - get a bus ride tour 1st day. learn the subways and skip taxi's - even when going to airport its better. wear good walking shoes.

BEWARE DIRTY AND UNSANITARY!!!!! Right off the bat the room was not clean we checked in and opened the closet to find someone else s socks inside out laying out. We called the front desk to retrieve the smelly matter and it took forever! The front desk said they would be up immediately but after waiting for over an hour we had to call twice more. After 2 hours of waiting up we finally got to sleep however it was extremely late at night. They truly could have not been that busy night. When we tried to call the front desk later on our trip the calls from the hotel phone would not go through. The next day we where out of our room for over 12 hours exploring the city when we returned our beds had not been made. Our room was skipped. At this point in my story you can see house keeping is not the Park Central Hotels specialty. The rotten icing on our molding cake was the insane thing that happened our last morning there. Just as my friend was closing her suitcase a HUGE COCKROACH jumped out to greet us. Our room was infested with creepy crawly friends (something that was not supposed to come with the room!) Cockroaches are definitely a horrible way to end a trip. All of these complications occurred within only the two nights we stayed there. So unless you want new bud friends coming home in you luggage STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! If you are still considering staying in a room at New York s #1 dingiest hotel ask yourself the following... Do I want gross socks reeking in my closet? Do I want crappy service? Do I want unmade beds? But most importantly do I want bugs crawling on my luggage or me?! If you are STILL considering staying at this hotel good luck you will need it. Lets just sum this up by saying zero star hotel.

We are frequent visitors to NYC but typically stay...

We are frequent visitors to NYC but typically stay with friends because hotels are costly. However, given COVID, hotels are now very affordable, so we decided to stay three nights over Halloween weekend.

PROS:
- cost was less than $100 night WITH parking. The hotel is working with a parking garage about 2 blocks away where you can get parking include. This perk sold it for us and ultimately why we booked. So if you are coming to the city by car, it s definitely worth to book here
- LOCATION - so close to everything: Times Square, Central Park, great food options within 100ft of the hotel
- gym is open and is quite large and well equipped
- clean - the hotel is older but it was well kept
- huge rooms! For a NYC hotel, the rooms were well above average size

CONS:
- there is a ton of construction in front of the building, essentially the whole block where an Uber would drop you off or where you could easily pull up to drop-off luggage was not accessible. We found this annoying but not the hotel s fault
- amenities fee for amenities . The hotel charged a $25/night facilities fee of WiFi, making phones call using your room phone (who does this anymore anyway?), gym and 10% off at nearby eateries since the food options at the hotel were closed. The good news is the fee use to be ~$40/night when the hotel bar was open, etc, so at least they made accommodations given the circumstances. The issue we had was the 10% off didn t work at either of the places we tired: the Starbucks and the bakery both directly downstairs / in the same building. The front desk told us to just show our room key and the discount would be honored. Two tries and two denied discounts later, we were annoyed. We brought this up to management and they said they d get it straightened out. They ended up only charging two nights facilities fee to us as a courtesy. My word of advice to management is to ensure you have those discounts buttoned up or guests start to feel the burn of the facilities fee
- we tried to call downstairs ~4 times to ask about various things, they didn t answer the phone...not once
- they said you can request a fridge in your room upon check-in but one isn t guaranteed, it s based on availability. We asked and said they were out. I find it a little hard to believe they were out of fridges when the hotel was very empty, when they use to supply fridges to a much fuller hotel pre-Covid
- we booked through the hotel website directly. Currently they are running a promotion where you get three free perks when booking with them. One of the perks we chose was a $5 free Starbucks card. The card was sent via email, however when we went to use the card, it said it had already been used. We told management who apologized but didn t rectify it.

In summary, I would stay here 100x times more at the rate we paid and I m honestly not that picky about hotels in a general sense, but if this was pre-Covid paying ~$200+ a night, I d be more than a little annoyed. I know staffing is limited due to covid and things aren t as they use to be, but taking all of those things into consideration, a hotel should still be able to service their guests who are staying appropriately by answering the phone and ensuring what they state in their pricing is what you actually get.

Just spent a week a the Belvedere Hotel with my husband. We were in NYC for pleasure -- to see the Dead & Company and some shows, have some good food, and explore. The Belvedere Hotel was a fabulous location -- very close to good restaurants (especially the onsite Brazilian steakhouse -- wow!), fun bars, and shopping. The staff was terrific and helpful. The rooms were very clean. ( I have a thing about clean bathrooms and the one in our room was an A.) A nice touch was the complimentary wine in the afternoon. Nice to have while getting ready for the evening. Oh, and it is conveniently located to subway stops so we were able to take the subway everywhere -- even back to the airport. A big savings in our transportation costs. I will definitely book this hotel again.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel and staff!!

Unfortunately, they were completely booked for the next two nights that we needed them. Very busy first weekend in June, 2017.

(The hotel we ended up using was near Times Square, was insanely expensive, the parking fees and valet $ were insane, and was a miserable experience, with rude staff everywhere we turned.)

We will definitely use Park Central Hotel anytime we are in NYC!

I've been visiting NY for over a decade. This was by far the worst accommodations in all these years. We had no ventilation in the bathroom. The air conditioning wasn't working either. We made 2 attempts at having those issues fixed. The premium king was cramped for the money we paid. A King size bed in an area meant for a twin or full at best. The overall look and feel of the room was old and in desperate need of a make over. I give good marks for the people who kept our room clean. I would not stay here again and would not recommend your hotel to anyone wanting to be comfortable. Try the Marriott on Broadway or the Yotel in Hells Kitchen.

Our stay at the Park Central hotel was great. Unfortunately, we paid for valet parking while we were there and the car was brought back with a $200 ticket. I was assured it would be taking care of multiple times even when I called to follow up. However, the ticket was never paid and I had to send a money order from Canada to cover the cost.

We were extremely dispointed...

The front lady and the front people were never kind to me in this year. I used to like the hotel so much and recommended this hotel to my friends before. But, I'm really disappointed about this hotel this year.
Except the front people and deli lady, all of staffs are kind.
While i booked the reservation, it never said anything about Facility fee when you check out. Please watch out the sudden Facility fee.

Staff is great and friendly! Housekeeping is wonderful! Rooms are nice and clean. I was there in January and the bathroom stayed so cold. Beds are very comfortable. Location is great! So close to Central Park and Times Sqaure. Easy access to the subway.

This place SUCKS. For this location, how can you botch it so bad? First room, mold all over ceiling, small as imaginable. They did do right by us, via a room change that didn't over look their HVAC system. No coffee maker in the room. No WiFi so I'm burning all my data. Even the bath is awful and doesn't allow me to make the water decently warm. I came here for my anniversary and it has been disappointment after disappointment. Spare yourself the ridiculous cost and DONT stay here.
