If you're a woman who uses makeup, this is the worst place to do so. Both the room and the bathroom are very, very dim.And if your room looks out into the rooms of other guests like ours , then it's a makeup catastrophe. This could have been easily be amended by installing brighter lights around the mirrors but for some reason it hasn't been done. The bathroom sink takes forever to drain the water.
On the positive - the beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and room service/cleaning is efficient.

Your walls are paper-thin. We were kept up at night by folks talking in adjacent rooms as well as people walking/talking close by.

Park Central could certainly use some food service in your facility. The limited hours and food variety of the lobby area made it nearly useless. A bar isn't appropraite for youg folks.

I stayed there last night and got bed bugs. I had bites all over my legs and also when I brought my suitcase home, the bed bugs were in my suitcase from the hotel room. I have tried to reach the hotel, nobody is calling me back with an explanation. It has been a horrible experience and the service quality is so bad. Do not stay here!

Park Central is a touristy hotel: a big box of dozens of rooms per floor where you'll find groups of shopping tourists crowding the lobby waiting for their airport shuttles.

Localization is perfect for midtown: close to the Times Square area, the Central Park, etc.

Room infrastructure is good albeit a lack of minibars, coffee machines and tea kettles, available upon request but subject to tight availability. But bed sheets are old and feel old on your skin.

Service is below average. During the two nights we've stayed here so far, cleaning staff leaved vacuum cleaners and gear carts on hallways overnight. We were "upgraded" to a room with two queen beds instead of one king bed, and located a mile away from the elevator. Also, letting the hotel know we were in our honeymoon made no difference whatsoever.

The gym is below average as well: little variety and poor quality made us buy day plans at the Sheraton across the street.

Maid woke me up at 8am the day of my checkout, just to "check if you're there". No sense.

Last I asked for a late checkout and they said no because the hotel is full, which makes absolutely no sense since I wasn't asking for an overnight room: late checkouts are dealth with with a juggling of cleaning staff. That's all. Now I couldn't shower before my 10 hour flight :(

Worst customer service I have ever had from a hotel. I ask the lady at the front desk a question and she told me to google it. I was visiting with my three granddaughters and from the first day we checked in it was nothing but disappointments. No restaurant, not a big deal, no store for forgotten toiletries no big deal, but when you can t get a question answered, nothing but incompetent employees! For this I paid $575.00 a night.

It's OK but not good. I don't know how they get four or five stars or if we've been unlucky the three times we went there. Very fancy lobby but crappy rooms. Visited other hotels later with similar ratings like park lane and club quarters and they are so much better but with a lot less fancy lobby... I prefer nice rooms over fancy lobby

Very clean and up to date. Staff was friendly. It was quiet. Prices are very good. Remember it is New York and the state and local governments add about 40% in fees to your room charges.

Great location. Near to many major tourist locations. However the rooms are tiny and lack a number of "normal" amenities you would expect in a hotel, like a refrigerator.
Overall a nice hotel if your looking for a centralized locations.

An New York icon, and carries lots of hype. But it's all about expectations after all. Classy and elegant ave, but I didn't find it so impressive otherwise. Stopped just for a chat and some drinks. And apart the label, for the money you can get so much better in the Great Apple.

Paid Premium Pricing - Very disappointed in amenities and service

Review of Park Central Hotel New York
Pending review

I am currently staying at this hotel. We arrived Monday for New Years Eve. Total disaster. I reserved two premium rooms paying $600+ for the first night. Wasn't able to see the ball drop. Couldn't even stand out in front of the hotel and couldn't stand in the lobby. Told to go to our rooms and try to watch from there but even the corner rooms do not offer a view of Times Square. No planned activities for NYE planned for guests. Staff was rude at the bar and in the lobby. Concierge will only try to sell tour packages you don't need. Amenities were minimal at best. No refrigerator inside the room. No room service. Will have to find other restaurants close by for food and snacks. Anytime we wanted to go anywhere, we found ourselves having to wait on elevators. Only two running elevators and both very small. For the amount of floors and guests staying in this hotel, the number of elevators is inadequate. My total bill for 2 rooms for four nights is $3,200. I paid way too much for a hotel that offers so little and poor service. There are so many other options in the city to stay. Do your research and don't get caught in the same predicament.

First room I was given smelled like bad BO. I was moved to another room which was good. But I then noticed I had a few stained towels. Overall not a bad place really but I would expect more given its price point.

Also I was charged an extra $35 per night (plus taxes) for a mandatory facilities fee. This charge was NOT reflected in any the search results on Google or sights like Expedia, Hotels.com, etc. If it's mandatory, shouldn't that be reflected in the room rate? I don't know if this is standard in NYC nowadays, but it feels super shady to me. Be sure to take this into account when pricing out your options.

Think boutique hotel was a hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. The rooms were a lot more spacious than the rooms at other hotels in the city. The lobby was wonderfully decorated and allowed for plenty of seating. I would highly recommend it!

The rooms were nice and on the larger side from what I've experienced in NYC, the people who helped us were all in all kind and courteous. While the price was quite a bit higher than similar spots in the area, I can see myself going back for the ambiance.

The hotel is crowded with kids on their school trip. A school teacher actually sat in front of our room all night to watch the kids who stayed on the same floor. The room itself isn't nice, and so is the maintenance. We had to ask for an extra towel each single day, and the cleaning lady didn't fill the body wash in days. The whole bathroom is pretty rusty. Moreover, the view from our room was awful- straight to what seem to be as a warehouse on a lower roof. The only good thing was the location of the hotel, but there are plenty more hotels in this radius that are worth paying for.

I stayed there for a few days with my choir group for the Carnegie hall trip. The hotel is always clean and cozy. Perfect for someone who likes that. The only problem is there was no water dispenser outside our room only an ice machine. We had to get ice and let it sit to be able to drink water. Also there was a lady who yelled at me because I didnt know where to stand in line at the front desk. And the last problem is that our room keys broke six or more times, Otherwise I would come here again.

We were happy with our room and we had a decent view. The location was perfect especially after seeing late Broadway shows...it s a quick walk afterwards. The staff were very helpful and we found the decor quite nice and found our room to be clean. We would certainly stay again and recommend.

Side note - my husband thought he cancelled an ATM request for $200 and walked away from the ATM. Turns out he didn t and the money was just sitting there. One of the staff retrieved it and had it returned to us. We were so relieved and thankful for his honesty.

Customer service was good but I think I have been spoiled by the Hyatt, who gives me slippers and has an umbrella for me to use when It's raining outside. Rooms are small. They provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No bar soap, which I prefer. Building is really old and elevators are really small, so you have to wait in long lines to get to your floor. There is no room service, just a bar.

Didn't stay in the hotel but are here. Didnt enjoy the food and it was really exspensive. Our waitress was also really rude and rushed us a lot. Things like bringing the bill before we asked. It wasn't the best. Can't speak for the hotel though

It was an emergency stay for one night because I could not make it home to New Jersey. The Port Authority was closed because of a bad accident & they wasn't sure of when it would reopen. So instead of competing with all the other people who also was trying to get home, I decided to not go through all the hassle & came to the conclusion to get a hotel room . I purchased it on Groupon because the price was right, it was available, it was in the area & it was a nice hotel! The staff was pleasant as well as the room! I enjoyed watching the large tv(great channels) while in the king size bed in an air conditioned room with delightful decor. The only thing they didn't supply a coffee machine nor fridge which wasn't important for this visit.

I want to give a shout out to Benny Fong at Park Central Hotel. My husband left his keys in the hotel room when we check out. Benny Fong the head of security was most helpful. He made sure the keys where in a safe place and mail them back the next day. Awesome! Would definitely stay at the hotel again. What a great guy and the staff at the hotel where superb. Kudos, to Benny.

There's a 30$/day (tax excluded) facilities fee on top of your room fee. Even if you don't use those facilities it stands for (business center et al) you'll be charged for it. Never seen this before in my life

Very disappointed in the staff at the Park Central Hotel. The staff do not care about their guests. We stayed there for 5 nights and after I check out I found out that our flight was cancelled due to thunderstorms. I asked the front office if the could offer a decent rate due to us being there for 5 nights and now stranded. They would only offer a very high rate that would have been close to $600 converted into our currency. It was 5:00p.m. at night and they said there would be walk-in guests that would pay a high rate. To add to the insult, a manager said that we should put our situation into context and that he buried his mother two weeks ago? I will never stay or recommend this hotel.

The hotel has only rooms and fitness center. No other service. They don't have restaurant to provide breakfast but only a lounge which opens in afternoon till night. They have no email to communicate before checking in and contacting thru website has no response. This place runs like a Bed and Breakfast. Sorry, no breakfast so only a Bed & Fitness center.

Room is very tired, needs a good clean and redecorating. Scaffolding surrounding the building, not all of the elevators working, door handle in the bathroom falling off. On top of that been hit with a $165 facilities fee! Location is good but one of the worst hotels I have stayed in

We have been traveling to New York(usually a few times a year) for the last 20+ years. This was by far the worst hotel that we have ever stayed at. On top of the hotel being super generic and more of a hostel type feel, one of the cleaning people stole cash and who knows what else out of our suitcase while we were out. I filed a claim/report and have heard absolutely nothing from it.

We only stayed one night but the front desk was super helpful checking us in and getting us a bigger room. The staff was friendly and helpful! The room was great, AC unit kept the place cold (summer heat in NYC is no joke) and the luggage check in guys were very friendly. While only one night I feel the service alone merits a 5 Star Rating.

The rooms are quite small, and there are no kitche facilities, or even a kettle! Not sure about gym facilities, but the room service is excellent. However, even with Do Not Disturb signs on the door, they will come in to clean. They do an excellent cleanup job with the beds and bathroom, although that s all they clean. The sight from the room is not too special, but the beds are comfy, it has a good location and stores are conveniently close! Definitely would stay again.
