Paneantico Bakery and Café Review

Red velvet cake has bitter taste of baking soda and tons of sugar. Could not eat it, no taste. Hot chocolate we ordered was even worse, just sugar. Very disappointed. Never coming to this place and do not recommend to anyone.

One of the best places to come in a Bay Ridge. Very good cappuccino and sandwiches (grilled chicken, mozzarella, roasted peppers, arugula on fresh bread). Service is good indoor and outdoors.

Unbelievable food. Used to eat there all the time when I lived in Bay Ridge, now drove all the way from Massachusetts for one of their sandwiches. Highly recommend the salami and mozzarella with balsamic on toasted roll. Really friendly staff. A hidden gem of Bay Ridge.

Amazing first time, although the place was packed.. staff was friendly. The place was kept nice and clean. All the food looked great (must be why it was packed) I enjoyed it thanks..

Incredible if not congested delicious Italian Diner and Bakery. I would say it is definitely not for someone who is Diet conscious. Yet they also offer diet options during the breakfast menu and the regular menu. For example instead of ordering a stuffed hero you can opt for the stuffings on a platter. In addition excellent coffee beverages that are among the best in Bay Ridge. Of course I might be biased but I love this place so much I eat there about 3 times a week. Perhaps the only drawback is that they do not offer delivery. Do not expect quick service at the tables especially during peak times around lunch time.

The food is always fresh and tasty. Alessia is a great server, always smiling and attentive.

Delicious sandwiches!! They also make an awesome almond latte. The baked goods are also a must try! Love this place!

So much more than a bakery. Great bread and sweets, of course, but also delicious Italian sandwiches and salads.

The coffee is good. Especially cappuccino and iced coffee. The brick oven bread is also good.
If only the service for takeout was the same. I often have to wait on line just for a loaf of bread for 15 MINUTES!! It s happened many times. Very very frustrating. There s 2 girls behind counter that can only do so much. There s a guy back there, I don t know if he s the manager or what. But this guy couldn t care less if customers are waiting for 15 minutes to pick up. He never asks if he could help the next person on line. And the sign that reads something about due to government policies we now charge a fee to use credit cards. News flash, there s no such thing, paneantico wants the customers to pay the credit card fees.

FANTASTIC sweets (especially Canoli)! Service can sometimes be hit or miss.

It reminds me of the deli Bakery restaurants that I used to go to when I was a kid back in the 60s a real Italian food the sandwiches were fantastic and the pastries were great

Great sandwiches, bread and ingredients are always fresh

While the coffee and sandwiches are delicious and affordable, the pastry taste very plain. I tried those in many occasions, and every time it's just sugar, burning the tongue, with no unique flavors. The service is not consistent (usually slow).

Paneantico continues to be our go -o place to have good Italian food in a relaxed setting.

The star attraction for us is the mozzarella, which is made daily and surpasses that from any other stores. When ordering a sandwich or a bagel, we ask for a slice. It makes it delicious. Bringing a ball or two or this mozzarella with Panteonico s outstanding brick oven bread is always deeply appreciated and lovingly served when we visit friends and family. .

The other special item is their homemade balsamic reduction. It is a welcome gift.

The other individual item we really like is the coffee, hot or iced. The baristas are helpful, spirited and will make whatever you want to your order.

Our favorite sandwich is (grilled?) chicken on chiabata hero bread, with arugula, fried peppers, mozzarella and a dose of Paneontico s great balsamic reduction. The breakfasts of either frittata or bagels and mozzarella are great, and well priced.

Service is generally personable and easygoing. The crowd is spirited and upbeat.

On the dessert side, our absolute favorites are the sesame cookies and anisette biscotti. For the holidays they sometimes have cuccidati, the Italian fig cookies. The sfogliatelli are good. Cakes are brightly colored, fancily decorated and not that special in taste, something I see in many bakeries. There are plenty of other great things that Paneontico offers.

I highly recommend Paneantico for takeout or a meal. During the pandemic, they have plenty of outdoor seating under umbrellas.

Friendly atmosphere. Fresh baked Italian pastries and cakes. Seating area is available will a full menu as well. A great place for lunch or dessert!

It's wonderful that we have a neighborhood bakery. That being said, I need bread and the bread is not the best. But I still patronize them because I wouldn't want to lose my neighborhood bakery.

Very unprofessional place. My friend and I were standing for ten minutes waiting for a table. There was over 8 workers not one of them bothered to apologize or aknowledge us. When we finally saw a table available we sat down. We waited over 15 minutes not one person bothered to come over and take our order. I felt unwanted and disrespected. That s not how you treat your customers. We eventually left without being served or even acknowledged.

Amazing place with great tasting cakes, panninis, and so much more!

Lol i ordered a pastrami with portabello and melted cheese. They end up giving me a roast beef with some bulky white cheese and red peppers. The sad part is the chef knew exactly what he was doing because the cashier read out loud pastrami with portabello and melted cheese before handing it to me. Oh did i mention i paid extra for no reason? Smh

I used to really love this bakery, because the food and pastries are absolutely amazing. However, the worst service ever! Consistently bad service always from the servers, cashiers and even management. I recently called ahead to see if I could place a special order, I was told no so I asked if specific pastries would be held aside and the person said yes. Then when I went there that night after work there weren't any left and it was the day before thanksgiving so I wasn't able to find it in any bakery because at that point all bakeries had already sold out, which is the reason I called ahead. The manager asked me when I called and said I must have spoken to the owner, but then he wasn't even really sorry and had no other options for me. I love this place, but I really hope you start to value your customers more.

Great bakery. Sometimes the muffins really sell out fast, so I recommend getting there early. The staff seems helpful, and they seem to offer a lot of different food options. Would definitely come back.

Great food very sincere and wonderful. Although they got our food wrong the first time when we went in, the store owner got mad at his workers and threw the sandwiches in the trash and had them remake them. He apologized sincerely and gave us our sandwiches

My Friend and I just ate there today. My friend seemed to enjoy his Hero. And I was able to order 2 cans of tuna in oil. Great outside service, waitress was great. Staff wearing masks and plenty of outdoor seating. Highly Recommended.

Excellent, fresh baked bread on which they make great sandwiches. They also have balsamic glaze as a condiment. The sweetness of the glaze goes great with spicy meat. I recommend hot sopressata, fresh mozzarella, and arugula.

There is one thing I would travel miles and miles for from this place and it's the mozzarella, basil and tomato salad. It is THE BEST EVER. Even thinking about it now, I crave it.

A clean, real Italian specialty store with a friendly staff.

This is without a doubt the best place to get breakfast at in Bay Ridge. Their egg sandwiches are enormous and enough for two. Their bialies and bagels are also the best in the neighborhood. So you wonder why the three stars? Service fluctuates from ok to terrible, and many times if you're not proactive you'll be waiting half hour for your food.

Everything is done with class..Some of the best Italian food and specialty coffee in all of Brooklyn...(what's funny their is a Starbucks on the next corner.. Paneantico wins that race by miles ahead)

The place is awesome. They are making very good food here and the people are so nice. I work twice during the week not far from it so I stop here and spoil myself. If you are in the area. worth checking them out.

I am always an advocate for this place, however on three occasions I was disappointed by the service. The first time I came in, the place was empty and I put my small cart near a table to get it out of the way before I ordered. A young woman server came up to me with a snotty attitude telling me that the tables are for service only even though I wasn't sitting. The second time, I came in with my boyfriend...he ordered two sandwiches and when my boyfriend went to pay the same girl from the first incident gave me a dirty look, then looked at him and said "only one sandwich, right?" my boyfriend had to tell her to ring mine up on his bill as well. The most recent time was this weekend. I ordered two sandwiches at the counter and the bill came to $23.00. I just looked at my statement and I was changed $28.95. I love the food here but I cant stand the rude staff.

Had the grilled chicken, mozzarella, portobello sandwich and added roasted peppers on their most popular bread. Drizzle some of their wonderfully thick and tasty vinaigrette over it. Also, get the chocolate bread warmed up and you won't be disappointed. The food here is obviously tasty but there's so much more here. Take a minute to sit and listen to the sounds of South Brooklyn and become a part of the community.

Tuna fish was so so it was just thrown on the bread than mayo on top not mixed or any flavor straight out of can. Waitress was not very attentive. But nice atmosphere and my friend's eggplant was good. Would try again but know NOT to order tuna.

love it here....but it can get crowded, but that's 'cause it's so delicious. roll with it and you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable meal or dessert....or BOTH.
