Very accommodating to special dietary needs. Couldn't ask for better service. Will eat there again and again.

Very good food. A tad overpriced, but it is downtown after all.

They have a large buffet but I'm not impressed with the food or the service. It all tastes like its come out of a Gordon's food service delivery but the directions weren't followed precisely and the desserts look prefab. They do, however, serve boiled water for tea.

horrible experience they asked me to push my son under the tabel who was in his stroller sleeping. I could not belive it we left instantly!

Breakfast was awesome. Appropriate price. Peanut butter pancakes and pumpkin pancakes were excellent.

It has a nice breakfast buffet and good food, but be prepared to wait during peak hours. It is right across the street from the ferry docks and is a popular breakfast spot.

You can't leave Mackinaw City without eating at the Pancake Chef! Customers line up outside before the doors open for breakfast. The restaurant is clean and there are many tables and cozy booths to sit. The breakfast buffet is hot and offers all kinds of yummy breakfast food. Their menu has every pancake flavor you can think of. Pumpkin. Banana. Potato. Pecan. Gluten free pancakes. Huge stacks of hot cakes with maple syrup. They offer bloody Mary's & morning Mimosas too. Need coffee to go or maybe to go silverware with your leftovers? They got you covered! The staff are super friendly, experienced and work their year round. Highly recommend!

Very long wait when it wasn't even busy. Outdated atmosphere. Food was ok...forgot my toast with my breakfast. Pricey... 38.00 for a breakfast for 2.

A nice place to get breakfast or lunch. I love the breakfast buffet and salad bar. Services is great and friendly. Good place to take kids as well. And affordable while traveling.

Food is good and the service is great. I was surprised at the quality of the food on the breakfast buffet and the quality of the coffee. Both were top notch. It's expensive, but not higher than anything else in Mackinac city.

OMG, this resturant was amazing. I was on a trip with my family, we had breakfast at diferent resturants in the morning, this was the ONLY restaurant that could make a omelette the right way! I really enjoyed the food, coffee, the service was great. The restaurant was clean and cute!

If you are looking for a bland, sub par, undercooked breakfast buffet, except for the pancakes which were overcooked, at $12 a head, then please waste your money here. The scrambled eggs were runny. The sausage links and hash browns we're not browned at all. The bacon was stale crunchy. The French toast was of in flavor. The sausage gravy tasted like it came out of a can. For their namesake, the pancakes couldn't even be cut with a butter knife, let alone a fork. However to their credit the service was great. The older gentleman that greeted us as soon as we walked through the door (whom touted how great the buffet was and at such a deal for $12 in Mackinaw City) came by our table at least three times to check on us, aside from the server, who also stopped by a couple of times.

Good food and a lot of it, very clean place and great service.prices are competitive.

Super disappointed. Went for breakfest and the lady behind the count was not only rude but super disrespectful. Wont be going here again. Please think about hostess next year!

The food was good. The price was expensive. 13.50 for breakfast buffet. Plus 2.50 for drinks. The bill was 65.50 for 4 people.

Food was fantastic, breakfast and lunch buffet with salad bar has thick bacon, sausage gravy with huge chunks of sausage, fork cut roast beef it is so tender. Highly recommend!

It's nothing to shout about from the rooftops, but this is pretty much the best choice for breakfast in Mackinaw City. Of course, that's not saying too much at all, but there you go.

We had to wait a bit but the breakfast buffet was good. Had to use gloves and mask while getting off of the buffet. $14.95 buffet. The service was not the friendliest or best.

Well, they are still featuring a breakfast buffet during these Covid times. But it was mediocre. I wished I'd ordered from the menu. Not worth $15. Friendly service though.

Staff is overly pushy about getting the buffet. It seems the staff has been scripted on what to say and a bit robotic. Maybe they have a buffet quota to meet?? Coffee is some of the lowest quality ever. Breakfast from the menu (not the buffet) was fine, nothing special.

Breakfast buffet was great. There was outdoor seating that I'm assuming was due to COVID, but it's something that should stick around. Nothing about our experience was bad. Expect a bit of a wait.

So they make u wait out side for 45 min to find out u have to wear a mask to eat cause the company people would not come out side to let people know before thats the only way you can eat with ur family but the wait staff don't wear gloves i would not recommend this place to my animals!!! Worst place in town Gross food !!!

My husband and I were there a few days before our anniversary at the end of September and enjoyed a meal very much. We had the most wonderful waitress, Belourse. She was very attentive and when she found out it was our anniversary of 52 years in a few days, she brought us a cake to go with the utensils and plates that we would need plus a couple of cookies. When we shared the cake a few days later to celebrate our anniversary we thought of Belouse and felt very blessed to have met this young woman. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Man that greeted us was very nice ( maybe the owner ) . Food was very bland . Service was very slow . Waitress timing was horrible like she was hiding in kitchen . Bill was 81.00 dollars for something I could have got at Denny's . They even charged me a 3% credit card fee and I paid cash . Had to have them take off . Overpriced for lack of quality and poor service

Decent pancakes but our waitress used her mask as a chin strap. That's not how it works!

Stand in line 30 minutes waiting for the dinner crowd at Dixie Saloon? Why? We walked 50 yards down the street, and found the Pancake House has a dinner buffet that is AMAZING. Everything tastes so good, and we had the restaurant almost to ourselves. There is a funny smell when we first walked in, maybe from the carpet? But after 30 seconds I didn't smell it anymore. The pot roast, trout, and chicken are very good. Not over seasoned, but not bland and tasteless. We were going to eat at the Dixie Saloon, which was uncomfortably packed and too noisy to think. This is a nice alternative.

If you have no plan and no goal this is the place to go. Food service takes like an hr with average food. Find something else if you don't like waiting and want a frustration free experience.

Great restaurant. Very clean and very friendly. I've gone to Mackinaw City many, many times and had never eaten here. So glad I did. The food and service was phenomenal. I had the pumpkin pancakes, one word YUMMY!!!

This place, without a doubt, is the best value for your money in Mackinaw City. The staff are very friendly and the food is phenomenal. Definitely not what you would expect from a buffet. Try the pot roast it's to die for. Not into buffet food? They also have a full service menu and serve breakfast all day long. Every year we go to Mackinaw City and this has become our new favorite spot.

Be prepared to wait for a great meal. Arrived at ten forty five and waited fifteen minutes because it is popular. Very nice breakfast bar with great pancakes and French toast. The bacon is very good too. Cereals and fresh fruits. The pumpkin pancakes off the menu get four out of five stars. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. And as price goes it is very well priced for a resort town, comparable to a city diner. The buffet will fill you up for $12. I certainly recommend this place

Slow slow slow. Not staffed to handle reasonable wait time. People waiting outside that could be seated if they tried harder. Slow to pay at the register , food orders come out of the kitchen in no particular order. Be prepared to wait.Watchout for the 3% service charge if you use a credit card. They must not make enough to cover it with a $13.00 omelette. I wouldn't go back.

We had the breakfast buffet... it was okay... not a huge selection, but inexpensive.

Food was decent for the price the staff working kept up the buffet with fresh food. However the Girl Zana announcing was rude we waited in the gift shop to hear our names a cple times we had thought we heard our names so I went and checked and we hadn't been called yet so we still continued to look next door, As we went outside in front of the restaurant waiting to be called I went in asking again and the Girl claims she said she called ours a while ago yet we were right out front waiting the whole time. Maybe if they had someone announcing that spoke proper English and not so rude it would get 3 1/2 to 4 stars .

Awesome place. A gem in Mackinaw City. Amazing food and people. Highly recommend. We had a buffet food and food from the menu on 2 different occasions. Cream of mushroom soup was homemade and yummy. Fish was fresh and beautifully prepared. 5 stars hands down. Go and check it out for yourself.

Pancake selection was huge. Large portions (we probably should have shared plates). Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was average.

My wife and I came here during our honeymoon. We enjoyed the best dinner buffet we ever came across. When the owner asked us about our trip and we told them it was our honeymoon. They gave us free dessert. Would highly recommend this very friendly atmosphere and fantastic food.

Forget pancakes a moment: this place has great salads! Several people at my table got a salad and all of us were blown away at how delicious the salad was! Candied pecans, feta, chicken grilled to juicy perfection, spring salad mix, and a delicious raspberry dressing. Couldn't be happier with the food.

When we walked in we were the only people save one or two tables. At 5pm opens up a buffet which is probably what drew the crowd. That being said, the time it took to get our food was way too long. The waitress was extremely helpful and nice, but that didn't speed up the kitchen. Getting our check and getting out took forever. Great food but if you're pressed for time I'd beware, or let them know ahead of time.

Clean tables and eating space, but the men's bathroom was pretty bad.

Its pretty busy, but you can walk around the gift shop next door. Breakfast was excellent. They even have like a bloody mary bar. Lol

Not impressed with food. Alright service. Don't get the French toast sticks for the kids. Ours were burnt, brought it up to server, and he acted like it was normal.

Service is top notch and the food was terrific. I loved the veggie egg white omelet, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy. I was pleased with the banana and pecan pancakes as well. To top it off, it is in a convenient location near shops and across from the ferry.
