My friend and I went to the pancake chef on a Friday morning and they weren t very busy. (With it being off season) We has to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Then the waitress came to get our drink order but didn t deliver our drinks for another 10 minutes. Our food was good but the waitress never came back... so we paid and left it was horrible service!

This is the 3rd time we have been here. Really great food and nice service. The waitstaff is very friends and ready to help. This time I tried the Hot Turkey sandwich. More than I could eat and really good. Put this place on your list to stop in at.

The food was good but NOT worth the 80 minute wait!! The waitress was complain about a tip another table left her. Repeatedly had to ask the waitress for drinks. Also, what's the since of employees wearing facemasks if they're all going to walkabout with them pulled down?!

Pretty expensive for just okay food. Had the buffet and the best thing in it was the scalloped potatoes. We also had the fish platter it was sub-par at best; looked quite pale instead of a golden brown. The pop was good and the rolls and butter were amazing. The best part (and I mean the best part) was our waitress. She was an adorable gorgeous lady from Serbia and even though the restaurant was fairly busy she was very attententive.

We went to the pancake chef to get a quick breakfast. They seated us and took our order. It took about an hour for our one appetizer. Next our breakfast came out. Half of our order was not even there, finally when the bacon came out half of it was raw. I literally could not even finish my meal, so we decided to get up and just pay. The manager did not take any responsibility and instead just made excuses on why the service and food was so bad.

The server was either new or they were short-handed I'm not sure. She was very friendly, however the day we were there it took me 40 minutes to get pancakes and scrambled eggs. After waiting for 20 minutes she came and said there was a 20 minute back up in the kitchen. I waited for her to come back to tell her I would just get the buffet, but she didnt come back for 20 minutes when she brought my food which was prepared wrong. Even though I told her it was fine, she brought me the correct item anyway which was nice. Not impressed with this place. The food was ok. Like a Coney, but I didn't have any of their specialty pancakes.

I have Celiac Disease and my husband deals with DH - this place has SO many options for those who need a gluten free diet, and the wonderful wait staff (ask for Marge!!!) even knew to ask if we were eating GF by preference or because we had to- then had follow up on what wouldn't be safe and the alternatives. It's awesome to be on our anniversary trip and feel like anyone else!!!!! . (Eat the pancakes! Try the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich!!!!!)

Being a tourist attraction, I get that the prices are high. The portions they give you are at the very minimal. Over 9$ for 6 little baby pancakes. Not to mention the sausage links they brought were not even warm. That will be the LAST time I ever eat there.

Good restaurants in Mackinaw City are hard to find. But this one is truly a diamond in the rough. Good food, great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. My husband and I got the dinner buffet for $16 and it was perfect quality. Nothing tasted like it was sitting out, and plenty of options for anyone to enjoy.

Atmosphere was great. We sat outside so it took a little bit to actually get seated. Our server could've been a little better with checking in on us and making sure everything was okay but the establishment overall was decent.

Hostess informed us of a 25 minute wait, we waited our 25 mins. We witnessed people walking up and getting their name called, only after 40 minutes did we say something to the Hostess and she said she forgot about us and we have 8 people ahead of us. Never going back.

I was with a bus tour group. They were ready for us and seated us immediately. They served us a buffet. The food was great. Very good service and they were very organized. They were also very friendly. It was an enjoyable experience.

A pleasant, traditional family restaurant that offers a brunch buffet (not sure if all week, but did today,on Sunday) and an expansive menu. Pluses include generous portions, great pancake selection, and good, attentive servers. At the same time, $14 for an omelette, six bucks for a *side* of biscuit & gravy, etc. is overpriced, even given this is a tourist town. Quality was OK--generous portions offset by overcooked eggs and broken hollandaise in the Benedict. All in all, a nice spot if you are in the mood for old-school, traditional family dining (happily reminded me of restaurants when I was a kid in the late 70s and 80s), but has some areas to grow.

The breakfast was better than the other breakfast place in this town but still terrible! I got the sausage skillet and the half the hash browns were burnt and chewy and SO greasy. The server only came by our table when we ordered and to bring us the food. Waited about an hour and it definitely wasn't worth it.

Definitely not impressed. Do not waste your time or money. Got to the restaurant at 9:50 am and didn t get our food until 10:45. We had an omlet and two eggs and two pieces of bacon and a glass of chocolate milk. It cost us $42.00. The breakfast was all greasy and smothered in butter.
