We had our first breakfast together as a married couple here. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and efficient, as well as thorough in asking if we needed anything. The owner was there, and made great conversation. I apologize that I don't remember his name, but his place is a great place to stop and eat in Mackinaw City. The food was EXCELLENT. Highly recommend.
We had a group of 5. They seated 3 of us at a booth and two of us at a nearby table. The buffet was OK. It took nearly 30 minutes for an omelette. Drinks were not filled quickly.
I ate all I could but I still didn't clean my plate. Blueberry pancakes with cherry topping.
We went here during the pandemic and the staff were SO nice and friendly. The food was delicious. Big servings. Definitely nice to have kind people when lots of people have been nothing short of rude during COVID-19. Definitely have our business for times to come.
Amazing pancakes and a huge selection to choose from. I had the pumpkin pancakes and my mom had the ones topped with apples. They were outstanding and the best pancakes we had ever had

After a disappointing attempt at dinner at a neighboring establishment we chose the Pancake Chef.

Fair prices, huge portions! Great breakfast bar too. Best bacon I've ever had at a restaurant... not fried to an unrecognizeable crisp like everyone else does.

This has been a tradition for our family for the past 17 years and I hate to say it but I think we're done. Food was more expensive and not very good. Service was not great either and it wasnt even busy. All they had to do was pick u the dirty plates from our table and refill drinks and they couldn't even do that.
Three rounds of the buffet, the bacon was great, blueberry scones amazing, spiced apples amazing... Worth it.
Breakfast buffet was really nice. But was kinda expensive for what I eat. Liked the kids way 75 cents per age

Delighted because there were no big crowds, we were soon to find out why. Overpriced food, terrible service, took 45 minutes for our food to arrive and it was barely lukewarm. Some was overcooked, some undercooked. I'm not usually one to complain but this was NOT worth the wait or the price!
The omelettes here are huge and delicious. Every kind of pancake you could imagine, I go here every time I am in Mackinaw and my sisters and I truly enjoyed our breakfast. I love that they bring a carafe of coffee to the table for you, the food is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent.
Nice place. Breakfast buffet. Hot food. Owners wife Barbara came around to the tables and introduced herself.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch here. Service was good, food was good, interior of restaurant was quiet and clean. We would definitely go again!

I suggest updating the website. It says there are winter hours. I called before heading over to make sure and the message says they are closed in winter. Good thing I didn t make the trip for nothing.

This was our first restraunts in the area and it was absolutely wonderful! The food was great, the service was even better, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Our server, Amanda, was very kind and considerate and told us about local attractions she enjoyed herself. We would definitely come back!
My family had dinner at Pancake Chef. My daughter and I had the buffet and my husband had pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausage. The dinner buffet doesn't have a huge selection but it was good. My husband liked his meal but said the eggs were weird. They were very fluffy but seemed kind of runny as well. Staff were all very friendly.
Went there this morning for a late breakfast. Had the buffet and my husband had the eggs benedict. Normally buffet food isn't always the greatest, but this was great!!!! The fruit was fresh, the hashbrowns were great and the pancakes and such from the buffet was awesome. The eggs benedict were some of the best my husband had. Waitress was lovely! People were just great. Definitely coming here every time we make a trip up!!! I can't tell you enough how great it was

Most of the food was good some of the pancakes and French toast had been sitting so long they were hard. When we went in we requested to sit at a round table with our 3adults and 3 kids and they refused said our party was too big for them...but while we we're there they sat a party of 6 adults at the round table. Also rather expensive.

Food was great! Staff was very friendly. My only disappointment was the handicapped bathroom out if order and the regular stalls were very small.

Once we were seated it took 30 minutes for a waitress to ask us our drink order and then we waited another 30 minutes for our food. Despite being reassured that their gluten/dairy free pancakes have no dairy or gluten, I ended up getting sick from the food. Not impressed. Horrible experience.
