Great service, butterflies were amazing, kids live...
Great service, butterflies were amazing, kids lived the play restaurant, and bugs.
Great service, butterflies were amazing, kids lived the play restaurant, and bugs.
There's many exhibitd for the young kids and teenagers. Visit the nano exhibit. 3 floors of science stuff. There are also outlets around, which I used to charge my phone quickly.
I ended up buying the membership so we can come back. There s so much to see when you look at the laser shows and imax documentary movies. The rest feels more kiddy and not what my family is interested in but then they add a new exhibit like the butterfly one and it s awesome again.
Some exhibits are showing their age but it's a lot of fun and they continue to make improvements. Love the butterfly house!
Place is awesome... minus the people who live there rent free in their tents
Awesome place for kids. The membership is worth it. If you re low income or DSHS involved you can a get a free membership.
This is definately more kid oriented but of you can come when it is less busy, it will be way more enjoyable. However, the laser shows here are quite an amazing experience for all ages unless your ears are sensitive to loud beats. Laser shows are spectacular...I can't stop coming. Way cooler than going to a movie. Bring your pillows and blankets if you want to lay down on the floor.
My kids had a good time.
Thanks.
We really enjoyed this center! It's made for everyone, maybe more for kids. But as big kids we had a great time and so much fun around the expositions. All the volunteers were super nice and interessing. It's the activity to do when it's pissing rain outside, as often in Seattle I would say!
Good for the kids. But many displays are under repair.
I had been coming here for most of my childhood, and it was always something that I looked forward to whenever we took a trip to Seattle. Great for the kids, and the Terracotta Warriors exhibit is definitely all-ages.
I love this place. It has a lot of interactive activities for every age and different abilities. It can be spendy though.
Severely outdated and there s multiple busted parts in every exhibit. Don t waste your money!
Great movie & planetarium opportunities! The kids science demonstrations are great!
Great place for kids and adults alike. A good way to start dialog about science education.
I love the science center they have very informative and fun exhibits and amazing imax screens
I love visiting museums and other knowledgeable places and this was one of the best experiences of my life!
So much to do and learn. We spent the entire day there! They even have scrummy gluten free options at the cafe.
So much fun! The butterfly house is beautiful and the exhibit are fun for all ages!
Always fun and learning for the kids while they play and entertainment for hoirs love this place
Not the best of it's ilk but has all the basics including a massive IMAX Theater.......................................
Great destination for spending hours upon hours with kids. Plenty of hands-on exhibits, Imax theater, planetarium, laser show, plus things to touch and button to push to last a whole day, and then some.
Great visit, the staff here is very friendly and informative.
A complete waste of money. Spent this Saturday with my family and it seemed rundown. First you're paying about 30 dollars a pop for adults and 15 for children. All other exhibitions cost extra. Not sure what age range demographic this is geared to but I'd say 10 to 12. Lots of open space and all the exhibits in the museum keep your attention for maybe 15 to 30 seconds and you're over it. Laser show was a bust. Super simple laser show that a kid could have done. I'm sure the IMAX theater is good but this museum is just a drag and not worth the money. This is a one and done museum. One of the worst I've been to.
Awesome place to take the little ones, parking is expensive though
I took my wife, son and mother-in-law on veterans day. We had a blast we seen the 90s Lazer show. That was the first time I have ever seen one pretty cool. We even ate at there little cafe. It was okay food nothing to write about. But we did have a fun time 4 hrs flew by pretty quick
Good dinosaur exhibits, but the space exhibit was excellent. The interactive water and sand table was fun. Great place for children.
Very beautiful character camera loves going he lives there those weird and wonderful at the same time kind of like the Children's Museum but less stinky in the parking garage getting ready we walked into the little thing to get to the elevator and it smelled like hobo pee so freaking bad it smelled like El pescados just murdered and died you need to get on that hobos you stinky love y'all
So much to see! When you first walk through the gates, it's like a trip back in time - the midcentury architecture and the giant water fountain outside make you kinda feel like you're in Disneyland in the 60s (not that I know first-hand what that's like but I'm guessing it was magical). We went here with our baby, even though he's little he enjoyed looking at everything, especially the robotic dinosaur exhibit, haha. The butterfly house was amazing, and the photobooths and souvenir penny pressers throughout the museum made it kinda fun too.
Lots of great material for kids. The insect section is fun. Overall worth a visit if you're in the Seattle area
Ive been coming here since I was a little girl and have now been able to bring my small niece, and its just as magical as ever. Not only are there plenty of things to see and touch, there are wonderful shows with FANTASTIC staff. My niece loved the pre-school planetarium show with Dr Sean! Also, the physics of bubbles presentation with Miss Laura-Grace and her assistant Marissa was educational and exciting! All staff members were so enthusiastic and it really added to our experience. Lots of fun for all ages. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a good time downtown.
Very cool place! Mostly focused towards grade school kids, but is still fun and interesting for teens adults and parents
The first time I visited this place was nine years ago. I was impressed.I returned after four years and did not get bored. And now this year... The best place ever, and not only for your kids. There is always something you can do and learn there. Enjoy the place and do not forget about the IMAX. A good film worth to be seen here.
Went for the TerraCotta warriors exhibit and also did the China IMAX prior to entering the exhibit. It was very pricey but lots of great things to see.
This place is amazing my family and I had a great time. We enjoy the lazer light show
If you have children, Pacific Science Center is THE place to go in Seattle. Since it often rains, it's something to do outside your home that keeps you dry.
Located nearby a park, the Space Needle, and the Museum of Pop Culture, it's in a great spot. With the location, comes a large dining hall with over a dozen food spots like Mod Pizza, Subway, and The Bubble Tea Shop (There is a cafe inside the Pacific Science Center too, but it's expensive and the food options are sparse).
The Pacific Science Center costs money, but once inside you can spend hours here to make it money well spent. The buildings are divided by number and offer a variety of things for kids. One building has dinosaurs, the other space related things, another one a butterfly house. There is even an IMAX theater!
Here are the top things to do for kids, adults, and a few things that both enjoy:
Kids:
1) The live shows- there's a woman that will do a light show for kids one hour and then an animal petting show the next hour. It will keep your kids entertained.
2) The giant games/table- one room has kid sized games like chess and checkers and even has a large table and chairs for kids to climb on.
3) The space area- there are many interactive exhibits from a scale to weigh you on each planet to a giant puzzle of the stars.
4) The ocean petting zoo- it's small, but kids can see and pet star fish and a few other water animals.
Adults:
1) The architecture- if you love photography, the outside courtyard is beautiful offering brutalist architecture with the Space Needle as a backdrop.
Both:
1) The butterfly house- hundreds of butterflies fly over you and even land on your phone for a butterfly selfie.
2) The animal exhibit- you can see snakes, cockroaches, bees, and other interesting animals.
3) Water guns- outside there are two giant water guns you can spray at moving targets!
If you have children, this is a must-do in downtown Seattle!
A wonderful place to bring the kids. Don t miss the danger science show.
Next to chihuly and the space needle.
Great for kids, still lacking depth for demanding minds.
Every time I walk through the door I learn something new!
Sorry to say its old and worn out. Not worth the admission price.
Superb place to visit, especially with kids. But frankly speaking even adults can really enjoy the science life lessons here. Excellent experience.
Great place to explore for all ages! Comes with the city pass!
Always love the Pacific science Center! Saw the terracotta warriors exhibit today, wonderful stuff as always.
Lots of fun exhibits. There were tidal pools when I went where anyone could touch anemones and starfish, and the butterfly wonderland was like something straight out of a fairytale. Every inch of this place is crammed with interactive science adventures, with really friendly and knowledgeable gallery staff!
Our children love this facility. We go frequently so they can play and learn at the same time.
Pretty awesome place for young n old. Their events with alcohol are always fun
Brilliant mix of science and fun. Need to upgrade some facilities. Make it cheaper for kids.
My family visited for the day and our two year old son had a blast! The exhibits were all well done, especially the butterfly exhibit, dinosaurs, and kid discovery area. Thank you PSC!
Most exhibits are hands on which is makes this place a lot of fun for kids. The standard ticket prices are very overpriced but if you have a corporate discount, Citipass, etc. it's worth the trip.
There is a small grab and go restaurant with hot dogs, soup, cold sandwiches, etc. It's decent but if time permits I'd suggest taking the short walk to the Culture Kitchen in the MoPOP which isn't much more expensive and much better. It's accessible from the street and doesn't need a MoPOP admission.
This was our first time here and it was awesome! There are TONS of things to do including the VR Experience on Titan, the dinosaur exhibit, water activites and butterfly exhibit. We missed the planetarium show by 3 minutes and the employee said they don't do late seating which was a bummer. It's definitely worth the time and money. Three hours was not enough time to get to everything. This is definitely a 5 hour visit not including eating if you decide to eat there. We used a Groupon and they accepted it easily. No hidden fees or anything like that. It was awesome.
This place has awesome laser shows synced up to classic Rock during the evenings, and is a pretty cool way to spend your night.
I expected more. It was ok, but I wasn't blown away by any means. The planetarium was pretty lame.
Went here to watch Star Wars on their massive screen! Very few people and great experience!
One of the Seattle Center highlights. Two IMAX screens, a killer laser dome, and a ton of exhibits. Adults will particularly like the traveling exhibits and huge IMAX screens - much larger and more immersive than the smaller IMAX format in typical multiplex theaters.
Fun place for kids and families. My kids spent most of the day at the VR area. It is already pretty expensive to visit, the other activities shouldn't cost an additional fee.
Amazing to see this place through the eyes of children. Had to wrestle the kids to get them out after five hours. Great exhibits.
We happened to go during the butterfly exhibit and let's just say I could have stayed in there all day. A hot room full of beautiful butterflies heavenly and relaxing. I actually got to walk around with one for quite some time.
Downstairs when you first walk in the giant bubble maker is still there from when I was a little girl, Carter and I got just about five big bubbles. Overall definitely plan for at least 4 to 5 hours there is just so much to do and the prices are super reasonable in the gift area.
Came up for a star wars movie and it was pretty swell. Even tho there was a butt load of people all in all I enjoyed myself. I would come back for the right reasons...
My 3 year old seems to like it, the Dinosaurs are fun, but even she got bored seeing the same handful of robotic dinosaurs after the 3rd trip to PSC. Some exhibits are broken or don't work well interactively. Overpriced cafe. Layout of the buildings awkward and can really confuse a first time visitor. Overpriced parking.
Butterfly exhibit is good, but again, after 3 trips with my toddler there even that gets a bit dull.
The lines on a sunny day are terrible, and even members who just want to go to the PSC and not buy any IMAX show tickets have to stand in long lines with folks who are buying IMAX tickets.
Was able to catch the Sherlock Holmes exhibit yesterday before it closes today. Though the interactive activity was fun, I thoroughly enjoyed the first room that provided history on the author, Arthur Conan Doyle.
Hmm, how to convey this... Been visiting for 5 decades. Seems a little tired and time worn. Have brought children and come both as they've grown and as teens and adults ourselves. For example, the dinosaurs' plaques say 'as depicted in the' 80s'. But don't describe the difference between the exhibit's depiction and more modern expectations and why the change. This place was the US exibit in the '62 World's Fair. Are all cylinders managing to still fire?
Exciting little visit. Food and drinks were a bit overpriced. Otherwise, a fantastic experience.
A lot of cool interactive exhibits. Good for kids and adults, and you can learn a lot of important things.
Great place for kids and adults. The staff is very friendly. The butterfly garden is a must see.
Visited the imax for "The First Man". Excellent experience all through
You can spend hours there. So much fun! Even for grown ups!!
The Harry Potter Exhibit is a must see for Harry Potter fans. I was totally surprised by the quality of this exhibit. It is not just a few pieces from the sets but amazing complete costumes to Hagrid's House, to Harry's dorm and the dining hall...Wizard Chess pieces, Buckbeak, etc...WOW...to see all the wands, costumes (seeing Harry's clothes from the first film to the latest...you feel like you are seeing Harry grow up before your eyes...The English tour guides through out the exhibit are well informed and know Harry Potter story in side and out...go ahead and test them ...we did!
The IMAX cinema is great for mainstream releases. For adults, you don't need much time to get through the exhibitions.
Huge place with so many exhibits! Lots to see and explore, plan on spending at least a few hours there if not all day.
Loved coming here as a child. Happy to bring my kids as well. A little disappointed about the prevelance of VR head sets. I know it's exciting new tech. But I prefer my science more hands on.
Had the privilege of seeing Bohemian Rhapsody in IMAX, which made it even more majestic & inspiring.
Laser show was super fun! We brought blankets and pillows to lay on the floor comfortably. There are chairs for those not interested in being on the floor. Candy & drinks are sold at the door for an arm & a leg. The show was great. My 11 yr old & her buddies won't soon forget their first laser show!
Lots of good facts exhibits and information
Seems mostly orientated towards kids but actually has some interesting information adults can enjoy aswell. Being next to space needle is nice and you can actually get a city tour package deal at the space needle. Highly recommended because individually tickets get kinda expensive.
This is really fun for a family outing. It has hands on permant exhibits as well as fun special exhibit. I've seen the king tut, pompeii, and terracotta warriors exhibits there. One of my favorute things there is the butterfly house.
Not enough things to do, compared to the one in San Francisco
