You have my sympathies if you require the services of a periodontist, but if you do, you couldn't be in better hands. From the moment you open the door at Pacific Northwest Periodontics, you are treated exceptionally. The staff is friendly yet very professional and efficient. My procedure was explained to me thoroughly so that I could make the best decision for ME. If you made an appointment here, you've made a great choice.

If you have to go to a periodontist, this is the place to go. The staff is incredibly nice and knowledgable. They do a great job setting expectations for the procedures (I've had some weird ones) and they run an efficient operation, which I appreciate.

It was my first time coming here and I feel it is safe to say that I highly recommend this place. Staff is very kind and courteous. Dr. Li actually listened to me and took her time with my visit. They are not quick to do procedures that *may* not be necessary. Pam is Dr. Rapoport s wife and checked me in when I arrived. She honestly made me feel like I was part of her family. Did you know that Dr. Rapoport is from South Africa!!

I have been seeing Dr. Rapoport for five years for a series of gum grafts. Dr. Rapoport has broad training and experience and cares to have his work done correctly and comfortably. He goes above and beyond to ensure the results are long-lasting so we can have healthy teeth, bone, and gums, even pointing out and fixing some work that a different dental professional did that would jeopardize the work Dr. Rapoport had previously done.

I believe in Doing it right the first time so when I decided to make my life A LOT more convenient by having my implants placed. I wanted a dentist who thought the same. Dr. Rapoport is overpriced, BUT let me tell you .. the reassurance of knowing MY implant was done right the first time is worth it to me. I done my fair share of reading reviews and hearing about implants failing after X number of years. 99% success rate after 10 years is astonishing. Dr. Rapoport also warrantee s their work and encouraged me to obtain my optimal oral health. Pushing limits is what this dentist strives for and he has exceeded all expectations. Well done.

Ok let me save you the trouble by reading review, after review. $$$! BUT well worth it. Doctors are there to save your life. Dr. Li saved mine. I am so blessed to have connected with PNWPerio and Dr. Li. I was hesitant to see her at first. The guy on the phone told me she was Dr. Rapoport s associate and that she was the only dentist in the Kent location. I agreed since they have an amazing reputation. BEST DECISION EVER! The attention to detail was so precise that after testing we received bad news. Since, Dr. Li caught it early during her exam SHE WASN T EVEN LOOKING FOR IT!!.... we were able to have immediate surgery and now I am living my best, healthy life!!

The experience I had at this office was the worst,...
The experience I had at this office was the worst, most upsetting experience I've ever had at a medical office, dental or otherwise.
I called to discuss that I had a crown that had fallen off in my sleep that we couldn't find, so I must have swallowed it in my sleep. Also, I was leaving in 7 days for a vacation. I asked if a replacement would be possible, and was told to come in for an assessment the next day. I asked that the lady who answered the phone please clarify if getting some sort of replacement solution in place was possible, since I was on a limited timeline before my trip and didn't want to wait for an appointment the next day if a resolution at their office wasn't going to be possible. She told me that the doctor would do an exam, and could then do a surgery on Thursday or Friday (this call was on a Monday) to extract my old tooth, potentially place a temporary solution, and "do whatever I needed to have done" during surgery. She did not guarantee that all of this could be done, but she certainly made it sound as if it was a very strong possibility.
I came in for my appointment the next morning with Dr. Schuler. From the moment he walked in, he was incredibly rude, disrespectful and inexplicably short with me. I explained my situation, and he just kind of shrugged and told me that that's not what they do there. He told me that he was under the impression that I had brought the crown with me, despite the fact that I had told both the receptionist and his dental assistant that I did not have the crown. Instead of taking the time to explain things to me with any sort of clarity, he just shrugged and muttered "no" when I explained what I had been told on the phone. He told me to go see a general dentist, and when I explained to him that it was a general dentist who sent me, he spoke to me as if I was an idiot, saying that his office was a surgical office, not a restorative office. He took no time to explain the process to me in any sort of kind and informative way. Most people don't know a great deal about the complexities of dentistry, and they go off of the information they are given when they call the office in terms of what services that office provides. That is what I did. At some point in this awful conversation, he asked me if I had any idea what a dental implant cost. He did so in a very condescending manner that seemed to suggest that he did not think I could afford it. The conversation continued in the same incredibly awkward and rude way until I finally just gave up and calmly said that it seemed that I was in the wrong place and I needed to go elsewhere.
Then, he inexplicably felt that it would be appropriate to bring up a personal issue from my medical history chart, despite the fact that it had nothing to do with what we were discussing, was not applicable to him given that he said he could not help me with his services, and I had just told him that I needed to seek out another option. He asked about it in an extremely rude way that insinuated that my medical issue would somehow be a burden for him. I'm not going to share specifics out of respect for privacy and decency (something Dr. Schuler needs to learn). However, the timing and manner in which he asked about it was beyond inappropriate, unprofessional and absolutely abhorrent behavior for anyone, let alone a doctor whom I had placed my trust in. Again, circumstances/timing considered, it's very difficult to see it as anything less than an attempt to shame a patient.
I told him that I would not be sharing anything given that he would not be treating me, and that I would be leaving. He muttered something and cut me off as I walked towards the door, walking out of the room in front of me in yet another move of disrespect.
His staff then had the audacity to chase me down the hall telling me that I needed to pay. Unbelievable.
I was never once given an apology of any kind regarding the misunderstanding that took place, nor the manner in which I was treated. If you value being treated with respect, integrity and decency, go anywhere else.

I had a consultation that cost me 100.00. It's been 2month. But I was told I could pay it at the time of my surgery on November 28th 2016. I told them I have no insurance so I'm paying out of pocket. So that's why I had to reschedule for my surgery. So this morning Dr Rapo port Called me from his cell phone. Demanding and yelling at for his payment of 100.00. I mean he was furious. I didn't answer back in was in shock! Cause at the consultation he was so nice. But remember i was told I could pay it at the time of my surgery. So the receptionist called me . And I told her everything. And. She apologize for him saying he is going through a lot. BUT REALLY HE DIDN'T HAVE TO CALL ME YELLING AND THREATENING ME FOR PAYMENT. I WOULD THINK HE HAD MORE CLAS
I WAS TELLING MY WIFE HOW COMFORTABLE HE MADE ME FEEL. BUT NOW I WILL GO ELSE WHERE.

I was seen by Dr. Rapoport, specialist in periodontal. He checked my gums and teeth, very thorough in detail. Explained to me in simple terminology what is going on in my gums and teeth , discussed all the options of treatment. Excellent care, exceed expectations. Each staff are patient friendly with special mention of Dr. Rapoport, Alley, Crystal and Pam. Crystal is famous photographer (radiography) in oral cavity. You will always feel comfortable with the care they render. Oops, I forgot to say thank you as well to Jessica.

This is the kind of place you only hope to find. Dr Rapoport and his staff are really nice people. His work is top notch not the kind of care I received at another Periodontist in Renton. After my procedure I received a call from his office to see how I was doing. I can tell you I was surprised to hear the Doctor himself making the call not someone in his office. If your looking for an honest man running a good practice Dr Rapoport is your man.

I ve already lost money coming to this place. How about you guys just be happy and keep the money you have already gotten from me. If you want people to make that sacrifice of financing their teeth done with your company/office, you should be straightforward of what s being charged before coming into your FANCY Office.
I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND people to come to this Dentist place because this dentist who speaks with you for about 10 minutes or so; tells you what s wrong with your teeth in a nice way (I get that part), then he brings out his FANCY advisor (who looks like she s an ATTORNEY from Beverly Hills) who tells you that you have to make an appointment or else all the stuff that was done today would have been a waste of their time and the money that I already gave them would have been worthless.
Then when you tell them you can t afford it, they come out with some OTHER OPTION about you can just finance your teeth of $5,000.00, Wow! When I let them know that I ll think about it, they tell me they have to charge me for some OTHER CHARGES that they could NOT get a hold of my dentist and HAVE TO charges me for my NEW X-RAY, I asked what the heck is that for? She replied that she couldn t get a hold of my dentist for my X-RAY from them and it was a perfect timing because my DENTIST was close the day I came in for my appointment, really made it easier for this crooked dentist to take my hard earned money of about $218.
After the next day, I called my dentist (JS Dental Clinic) to find out about my X-RAY that was suppose to be sent to Pacific Northwest Periodontics, my dentist stated they have been trying to contact this CROOK Dentist (Pacific Northwest Periodontics) to give them my X-RAY but nobody would pick up theirs phone to answer so they can send the X-RAY, so that you crook dentist HAD TO CHARGE me and not give my money back as promised.
So all I m saying at this point is that the CROOK DENTIST:
- Gave me advice of getting my teeth fixed from them of $218.00 again ADVICE CHARGES charges only
- Plus not even adding the VENEERS or DENTURES there is a $5000 charges to get started.
- After done with that, what ever was going to be done; they wanted me to come back for the final charges just to put in some VENEERS or DENTURES. $$$$$$
I think the only reason why I m NOT going to do business with these people are, they don t let you know what s being charged at front before starting their service. If I knew what I was getting myself into, I would have understand and would have gotten all the financial done and would have gotten my service with them.

I was pregnant in 2012 with invisalign, so no x-r...
I was pregnant in 2012 with invisalign, so no x-rays. I went for the first appointment with Dr Schuler. I think the doctor is fine, he seemed to know his stuffs (very qualified) but some tensions or no sync between him and his assistant or the assistant seems slow and could not catch up to the doctor. Not sure, she took good notes of what the doctor said. I got charged about $130 (don't remember exactly how much but for sure more than $124) for photo pictures of my missing tooth and surroundings. Not sure if those photos are necessary if insurance won't pay for it. Way overpriced otherwise if they want to compare or show us the before and after. They said to wait after delivery and invisalign done so they can do x-rays and do implant. I scheduled for the next appointment for after baby is out of me but I postponed twice until I completely cancelled it. Why? I could not get an answer from the office if after the implant procedure, I would need to take antibiotics which would suppress my milk supply for my baby. I have asked the receptionist to ask the doctor, or any doctor in that office. Of course, she did not ask. She said no, no antibiotics. I asked if she is sure. Nope, not sure. It is only her opinion. It should take no more than 1 minute for a doctor to answer a yes/no question. I think that office is more money hungry than caring for its customer. Yes, they might be good. Yes, I got a predetermination and pre-authorization from dental insurance, still all leaning toward making fast profit than caring for my concern. I understand business, you need to make money as a business but if you make your customer happy, they will give the business and maybe bring you more businesses. Now, 2015, I still don't have my implant, so I am shopping elsewhere. Sad I wasted $125 ish for pictures. This is my experience. I could still go to them, but don't want to pay another $$$$ for new pictures.

Not only a dentist who cares, but an office with the same belief! We take my mom here and they are sooo patient (no pun intended) and good to her. They go out of their way to be gentle and fit her into their busy schedule. The team members are patience and their gentle manner go a long, long ways in building trust.
Not only is Dr. Rapoport wonderful, but his entire staff requires a customer service reward. Ultra kind and way beyond any levels of courteousness, they are one of a kind and did I mention THIS IS A SURGICAL DENTAL OFFICE!!!!!!!!!

So just a heads up, customers of Pacific Northwest Periodontics were offered a 50 dollar gift card for writing a good review on yelp, so the stellar 4 1/2 star reviews are financially motivated. Seeing how people only read 5 or 1 star reviews i opted 1 star (mainly due to my experience here)
I came here to get grafting done on recommendation from my dentist. Dr. Rapoport did as far as i know a good job and everything worked out, however the prices are a bit high so shop around, you can probably save 500 dollars or so if you look over in Redmond. Also be wary of their finance/ estimated team, and they will do a terrible job estimating the cost of the entire procedure if you go here. I had to pay an additional 200 bucks after i paid in full because of some magical unforeseen cost.
I do not recommend this place solely on my experience here, honest review here guys, shop around is my only advice to you all.

Hi, I am a dental professional and have known of Dr. Rapoport's work for the last 15+ years. Dr. Rapoport's work is exceptional. I see the results of his treatment/surgeries in our office, when patients return after having been treated by him. Very successful outcomes. Dr. Rapoport is very active w/study clubs, educating and mentoring other dental professionals. He participates in copious amounts of continuing education, far and above what is required in his Periodontal Profession. Dr. Rapoport is the #1 Periodontist I refer my patients to.
When I had a complicated periodontal situation myself, the only person I wanted working on it was Dr. Rapoport. I have been very happy.

So far, wonderful! Lots of information and a very efficient staff. Dr Rapoport is very instructive and charming to boot. Ask me again after the surgery!
Aside from feeling like a piece of meat, I must say that things went well. Dr. Rapoport is a superstar and spends very little time with the patient, in fact none after surgery, but the information given out and the women in charge of everything but the surgery are top notch. Appointments were pretty much on time, and the procedures done well, as far as I can tell. It is, according to the woman who pulled the stitches today, "the procedure that results in the most discomfort that we do", but I seem to be healing nicely and can go back to regular food now, if I chew it with my back teeth. I certainly don't envy anyone who is scheduled for this surgery, but PNP does it well.

PNW Perio was recommended by my dentist to consult on my receding gums. I love these guys! I've had 5 gum grafts by Dr. Rapoport--my entire outside gum area. He is such a great guy. So genuinely nice and caring. Everyone in the office is friendly and concerned about my teeth and gum health. I've had lessons twice in how to properly brush my teeth. Believe me, after going through the gum grafts, all of which are very sucessful, I intend to keep my mouth as healthy as possible forever! I have only great things to say about PNW Perio.

Obviously it's never something people look forward to when they need to see a dentist...let alone an oral surgeons. My regular dentist referred me to Dr Rapoport to take care of my issue. I nearly asked for a different practice based on the locale as it was a bit of a drive for me. But I figured, my dentist knows best. And he sure did. The assistants were courteous and personable. The pre-exam details were phenomenal and Dr Rapoport took me through exactly through my options as well as the actual procedure. The day of procedure was no big deal at all. And even got a courteous call direct by Dr R in the evening to ensure I was ok and a few more details of the procedure. Aesthetically everything looks great...and it's a big deal given it's my front tooth.

Travelling from Montana to have 4 implants placed, Dr. Rapoport is the best. He had done 3 previously and I decided to make the trip to have him place the additional implants. Jessica, the care manager was very helpful, efficient, and generally a very nice person!! Barbara who did the pre-surgical appointment...there are no words. What a wonderful person, caring efficient, and very knowledgeable!! Of course Dr. Rapoport is beyond awesome. He accomplished what the dentist and oral surgeon in Kalispell would not do. He is so knowledgeable and caring. I have in the past and will continue to refer my friends to this office for implants and periodontal care. Thank you to all at Pacific NW Periodontics for your great work.
I was not given full disclosure I would be billed ...
I was not given full disclosure I would be billed for my appointment today. I had seen Dr Schuler last year as a followup from a surgery he had performed on me in September of 2017. I was informed I wouldn't be billed at my previous appointment and Dr Schuler had informed me then that everything looked real good and he didn't see any reason for me to have any additional work to be done. During our conversation I was given the impression that unless something came up there was no reason for me to return, but then at the end of the conversation he mentioned that just to be certain I should come back in a year. I made the appointment that same day, and I had the impression then I wouldn't be charged and was never informed at all, until I had completed my appointment today. I never had any questions if my insurance was still current or anything to lead me to believe I would be charged. After voicing my displeasure I had the photos and xrays taken off the bill but still was charged $201 for the doctors portion. My hope is that this will be taken off as well and refunded back to my credit card. If not then I leave with a very bad taste and experience there today and will never refer anyone to this place of business. UPDATE: Since I last posted this review I was contacted by Pacific Northwest Periodontist. After reading this review and reviewing my situation they apologized and refunded the $201 they had charged me on my date of service. They also informed me they're changing their protocol so this misunderstanding won't happen again. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because it's something I shouldn't have had to experience but they did correct it properly. Dr Schuler is a very skilled and knowledgeable professional.

Dr. Rapoport and staff are the best.
I totally would recommend Dr. Rapoport. I have had gum grafting twice. There is nothing like stressing out about the procedure. Dr. Rapoport explained the entire process and what to expect, healing process etc.
The staff are really friendly and put me at ease. "You got this" with a smile. It wasn't the funniest experience. However having a supportive freindly and positive staff put me at ease.
I have since started the process of an implant. Dr Rapoport tried everything to get the process done in 12 weeks. But, unfortunate problems with an infection, bone issue. I will need to go back and do the normal months process. Like other co-workers I have talk to. They couldn't believe it when I said " YES" my periodontist depending on your tooth can get it done in 12 weeks. He is awesome.
After talking to several friends. Many of them telling me that their dentist said they needed to get the gum grafting done. I need to just do it. I recommend Dr. Rapoport. :) He is the best and personally will call you after the procedure to see how you are.
Thanks for having a great friendly staff. If I had a question You guys have always been there to answer any question I had.

I was referred to Dr Rapoport so that he could evaluate a tooth that had experienced extremely rapid bone loss. His expertise was apparent, and he determined that the bone loss was due to a fractured root and resulting abscess. He very skillfully removed the tooth and applied a bone graft, causing me very little pain. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Rapoport and his team are the best! Never in my life have I had a Dr/Dentist/Surgeon or any other medical professional calling me on a Friday night to make sure my recovery is progressing well. The customer service and communication here is second to none.

I had the perfect experience! Because I was having an extraction and implant of my front tooth, I was pretty apprehensive. The procedure was a breeze and I had no swelling pain or bleeding afterwards. Support staff are the best!

I hate the dentist, so going to a periodontist was something that I really did not want to do. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Pam (who offered me tea and coffee), I was able to relax. The whole office staff from Pam at the front, to the assistants, to Dr. Rappaport were warm, gentle, and welcoming. They explained everything that they were going to do BEFORE they did it, so I always knew what to expect. It was obvious that they wanted me to have a comfortable and (relatively) pleasant experience and everyone at this office does their best to make this happen. My experience here was so much better than anything I had worried about it being. Not only that, but Dr. Rappaport is conservative when it comes to care. For my issue, he left the decision up to me but recommended doing nothing except monitoring it and addressing it if it got worse in the future. He could have recommended costly and painful procedures instead, but he chose instead to wait and see. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who has to go to a periodontist. Dr. Rappaport and his staff are AWESOME!!!

I scheduled my appointment at 10:50 over the phone and was told that I should arrive at 10:30 to complete paperwork, even though I completed the paperwork on-line prior to the appointment. Then I received a text message that stated that my appointment was at 11:10. I arrived a 10:35 but didn't see the dental assistant until 11:45. Other than that my experience was fine and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and very professional.
So, 2 implants will cost about $11,600, and a possible gun graft another $5,500. Then to another dentist to fabricate and install a bridge for around $3,000. Since I don't have insurance I'll have to save up for a while. Dr. Rapoport gave me several options and I trust him so I will eventually be back for the work.
All healed up now and very happy with the results. I was surprised that there was little pain after the procedure - no need for heavy duty pain killers, just used acetaminophen.

Dr Rapoport really cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain his procedures and the reasons for recommending a particular procedure. His technique is as near painless as possible and his wealth of experience is evident in his work. His staff is extremely competent and Dr Rapoport empowers them to make administrative, scheduling and support decisions.

Pacific Northwest Periodontics and Implants is great. I had a graft done there about a year ago and Dr. Rapoport and his staff did an amazing job, both with the surgery and the aftercare. I had the same procedure elsewhere about a decade ago, but Pacific Northwest Perio and Implants made the experience so much better this time. I don t get many people asking me for periodontal referrals, but when I do, Dr. Rapoport is the only one I d suggest.

I was dreading my upcoming appointment for oral surgery. I've had bad experiences in the past w/ dentists, especially in my youth so I'm paranoid w/ each visit & the idea of major oral surgery left me over-the-top fearful. I don't take opioids as a rule & I felt that the pre-op meds were going to be insufficient. I was wrong, very wrong.
After being in the chair chatting nervously w/ the attendants for awhile, the dentist came in to introduce himself again & reposition me. The next thing I remember is getting an assist to stand & my wife helping me out to the car. I then began fretting about what was going to happen when the analgesia wore off & again the answer was, nothing. I'm taking an NSAID (Ibuprofen) & antibiotic as ordered, along w/ icing the area regularly & I'm fine. A little sore above the site & some burning when I use the mouthwash provided but other than those perfectly tolerable discomforts I really am good.
My only regret is all of the time I spent panicking & the hair I pulled out while standing in a corner freaking out about the upcoming ordeal. The PNW Periodontics office staff, the assistants, & the dentist were all fantastic, helpful, & kind. I recommend them without any reservations.

I went in for my second appointment and only pictures we taken. Then the assistant said that I was fine and that was all. I asked isn't the doctor coming in. I decided to go else where for a consult and now it comes to me putting my braces back on because I don't have enough spacing the new specialist said that if he puts in the smallest post for an implant and long term can have complications. Happy that I went somewhere else were they are honest and not all about the money. I can care less about price when it comes to my care but want it done right.

I feel that PNW is a very professional, top provider. That's why I'm there. Some old gripes I have with all providers--
About call backs and concerns: all medical providers handle these by having a paraprofessional greet you and whine: 'Well, Mr. Jones, you have to understand the healing process is so and so. We briefed you prior to the procedure.' Come on, let the dentist have a look and take an X-ray. BTW, you folks did look. THANKS.
The trauma of bone augmentation and a sinus lift is such to justify steroids-- good move by PNW. THANKS. Despite the war on opioids and the reporters and folks at CDC who have built careers on this, major oral surgery usually requires something more than overdosing on NSAIDs. BTW, PNW did provide relief when I asked, but I had to ask. THANKS AGAIN.

Pacific Northwest Periodontics is truly first-class professionally run dental organization. The organization is well displined. Everything seems to run on predetermined schedule. Doctor Rapoport and his staff are competent and friendly. It was a pleasure to have the dental work done there. I can now chew with comfort after several teeth extraction, teeth cleaning and bite adjustment.
