The epitome of melbourne coffee culture, hidden away in a discrete laneway, Seven Seeds has excellent coffee, beautiful food all in a spacious industrial brick, concrete, wood aesthetic. Perfect poached eggs, hearty pulled pork for colder mornings and other creative tastes feature on an interesting menu. But it's the coffee i come for - well rounded, care taken with each cup and skillful mastery of foam art. Coupled with quick service, I'm never disappointed at this bustling caffeine outpost.

One of the best cafes in Melbourne, if not THE best. Even tho it's very crowded during the day, we didn't have to wait long for the delicious food and coffee and the service staff is still friendly. It's a nice and bright place and I'd recommend checking it out. You should definitely try the donuts at the counter, they're very yummy! The only thing is...it's a bit pricey for the size of the serving.

Food is good.

Food is good.
I have been twice, and the coffee is much over-hyped. In my view the coffee is thin, without much flavour, and lacks crema.

Used to be a loyal customer at Seven Seeds but after our last encounter myself and many of my friends will not be going back. We were a large group, celebrating my friends birthday. We got seated at a small table because the rest were yet to arrive, when asked if we could conjoin the table next to us the waiter scoffed and said no, he was extremely rude. We ended up being about 10 people squashed onto a tiny table, he ended up having to move us anyway.

After our meal we wanted to bring out the birthday cake to sing happy birthday to our friend. He said "take your photos but you are not allowed to eat it here". Are you kidding me? Regardless of any no outside food policy any restaurant/cafe has, I have NEVER been to a place that refused a birthday cake for a customer. Absolutely disgusted with his treatment of us and his behaviour.

I really wanted to like this place considering the reputation it has and good reviews. The vibe and layout of the place was really nice; just what you would expect from a Melbourne Brunch cafe. Paying $6 for a takeaway coffee, and judging how busy it was on a weekday morning I had even higher hopes. I was however severely let down as the coffee was BEYOND horrible. Couldn't even finish my coffee. Really disappointed as I wanted to come back here again. Might give it a second chance..just hope they can make a half decent coffee next time round.

Worth crossing the country for. Best coffees we had when last in Melbourne (from WA). Breakfasts were generous and delicious too. We're back in town again for a footy fix. The first place we'll head for in the morning is 7 seeds.

Conveniently close to Melbourne University. Really good coffee and lovely staff. A great place to catch up with friends or colleagues over coffee and/or brunch. You can also buy their beans to take home, as well as a few other coffee equipment such as hand grinders.

Great coffee and delicious lemon and pistachio cake. Good cozy ambience. Entrance can get packed due to the queues for take aways.

Went there for brekkie before work with a couple of friends. Been here before but only for takeaway coffee. Love the ambience. Very cozy with lots of wood panelling.
Food and drinks were disappointing though. Very average baked eggs, couldn't taste much except the tomato sauce. Friend ordered the same and didn't enjoy it either. Another friend got the breakfast burger which he enjoyed. My soy flat white was no good either. It was prolly the soy milk as my friend enjoyed his coffee with regular milk. Oh and we saw a cockroach on the table right before we ordered!! Really wanted to like this place but too many things didn't go right. Sorry guys.

Seven seeds has been around since I attended Melbourne Univeristy. The back is an alleyway edgy place for uni students to meet and grab coffee and lunch. Lunch prices are a bit high and not the best compared to many others in the local area if your a student however as an adult meeting clients for coffee here is great. Can be very noisy however.
A more grab and go take away coffee place for all the commerce, IT and law students in the area.

Went today Sunday and waited for 5 min for a table, which it is okey for a weekend. Nice deco and friendly and efficient staff. We did not like the food too much (poached eggs were over cooked for example), and I was expecting more about the coffee after reading great reviews, but received a long black with barely any crema... Also, they charge 10% more on sat and sun... why? It's not even a public day! I was a little disappointed after reading so many good reviews.

It was quite busy when I went but the staff were super welcoming & polite and happy to help me with some questions I had about the coffee beans. Beautiful coffee and beans, I ve never had a bad cup of coffee from seven seeds. Definitely get the staff to recommend you a coffee bean to try, they are all unique and so tasty. Also the ham&cheese croissants are the best I ve ever had love love love this place

We visited Seven Seeds in 2016 and my husband has talked about their breakfast regularly ever since. He wants to plan another trip to Melbourne just to re-visit Seven Seeds. Must eat if in Melbourne.

I was recommended here by a friend and this place is my new go-to brunch place in Melbourne! It is definitely one of the bigger brunch places around Melbourne and their coffee is one of the best i've had in Australia.

Their staff is very friendly and the place is generally clean with a nice warehouse interior. There are only two outdoor seating areas if you want some fresh air.

If I were to change anything I'd probably have another board possibly covering the toilet area as no one wants to be eating infront of the toilet entry. Just doesn't feel great.

9 times out of 10 it is just waaaaaaaay too busy. It has very good food and coffee. good place. But way to busy. can t really pick the crowds but I d say uni student time is marginally (only marginally, weekends are rammed too) more busy. If being comfortable and not having that deflated feeling of oh $&@$!, there s a million other people squeezed in here too , then unfortunately I d advise to avoid this place. Suggestion to seven seeds: why don t you publish on your website how busy it is, live?

The place has a really good vibe to it and I did like the chairs hanging from the ceiling. It is cozy and as a result has limited seating. The coffee there is very good and as a result there was a steady queue of people (on a Sunday morning) there, but the majority were getting takeaway coffees.

We stumbled upon this place last year and loved our breakfast, visited Echuca again in October and had to come back, both days! Staff are great, food is exceptional and coffee is perfect. I wish this was my local!

Seven seeds in the university city public comment on the top1 coffee, is recommended flat white, 4.5Aud, they use this bean taste on the hemiplegic, after the mouth is very dry, is delicious, but not like evaluation So warm. Oh, yes, there is a flower ~ ~ finally.
Also ordered a recommended beef burger, 18aud, very solid, cut and immediately saw about 7 mature Angus cattle, wrapped in some of the sweet and sour red sauce, like pickled radish, yum!
In addition, according to the staff recommended to order a king oar salmon, with water wave eggs and asparagus, yolk sauce is super refreshing! 20 knife

Great place, the back entrance can be tricky to find as it is down an alleyway which doesn't have any signage. The coffee is great and so far I have only had the nutella croissant which was amazing. The menu looks great and the food I have seen come out of the kitchen looks good as well.

Omg an absolute must for breakfast!! Any coffee lovers dream. Cold brew is spectacular and the hot chocolate was something else!
Very busy, so probably not ideal for kids, however they do amazing with the space! 10/10!!!

Was recommended here by a friend who lives around the area, and was not disappointed. Was recommended the egg benedict, and was amazing. Great coffee, great breakfast meals and great staff. Have been going ever since, while my uni lectures are online. Would recommend, and will definitely be going to again in the future.

I enjoyed my brunch there. We got a table immediately on a weekday morning. The food was flavourful with stunning presentation. However, we were kind of forced to leave the cafe after we finished our food. I understand there were people waiting for the table, but still felt a little bit uncomfortable when they approached us and asked if we'd like to pay our bills or not.

The dark blue exterior hides an elegant design of sharp edges, wood, brick, and metal. It s coffee is top notch. The Eggs Benedict on a waffle was perfectly prepared, with the eggs carefully prepared (yolk runny) and hollandaise sauce well matched to the dish as a whole. I will be back (Arnold style).
