Maybe it was an accident but a waitress here was a little bit rude to me. I came for a lunch, they have 3 or 4 free tables. I asked for a place close to a power socket to charge my MacBook (because of urgent work issues). They had that kind of a table, it was empty but "for 2 or more people". It wasn't super nice but OK, I got it. However I nicely asked if they have a Wifi and the waitress said "no" despite of my phone saw their network. I checked the Internet later, people say they have free wifi.

We used to really like this pub as a quiet spot after work. Recently there has been an annoying trend where the tables in the front half of the bar are reserved, leaving very little space for everyone else. Also the beer selection, availability and quality (taste and gas) have been iffy recently. Was in on Wednesday. Beavertown neck oil was off and the other pale ale was flat and unpleasant. My colleagues who were drinking cask beer also were very unimpressed. We left after one beer to go somewhere else (craft beer Co) with more seating and a better beer selection. Staff could also do with an injection of personality and friendliness. Disappointing.

Thank you The Lady Ottoline for receiving my very first one star review. Would rather have given it zero if I had the chance. It might have been 4 or 5 stars if it weren't for one individual. One of bar staff totally ruined an otherwise nice mid week dinner/evening. One of my friends was accused of puking in the toilets when he'd been sitting down for no more than about 45 minutes. I'm not even sure if he had even managed to go to the toilet. In any case, he would have been the very last person to either puke or if it was ever the case make a mess. I have literally no idea where this individual got the idea from. They accused us of being drunk when we were little more than tipsy and far less so than many of the others in the pub. Of course, going to the bar and trying to get to the bottom of things myself resulted in more inaccurate accusations. First time in 30 years I've had that sort of experience an any pub. Shockingly bad. So sad that I liked the place otherwise.

We had booked a table for 3pm and had to wait until 3.40pm to be seated. Our wine then took a further 20 minutes to get to the table. The service after that was pretty lacklustre. The Sunday veggie option (squash wellington) was nice but not great and my friends said the beef roast was ok - but the puddings were absolutely amazing. I wouldn't go there again for a roast.

Good pub that mixes locals tourists and hipsters. Beers are good. Food a tiny bit overpriced but then you pay for where you are too I suppose. Overheard it might close soon...that'd be really sad!

We visited the Lady for our staff Christmas lunch on Friday, our party was for approximately 20 people. We booked the large room upstairs which was very well decorated giving it a festive feel, and it was nice and spacious for a party of More

Although some of the food wasn't awful, the service was particularly bad, our waiter having a sour mood and being very rude, slamming glasses on the table. We had a girl on our team with a severe allergy to milk, to which we were told several times that there was no dairy in the food. One bite into the meal and she had had a reaction, we were offered little compensation and the waiter was very unapologetic. Food was overpriced for what it was and my meal also came without dairy although I had not requested it, and also came without chips. Will not be coming back.

Came in on the day that Lady ottoline was celebrating its birthday. What a great atmosphere! There was a Dj by the bar who was playing amazing tunes! Bar service was really friendly and quick. Snacks and cake was great! Next birthday celebration is a must!

Fresh clean and well prepared food. Good selection of wine and ales. Table service. Lovely atmosphere. Attentive staff. Only bugbear is the menus are so posh I can't even read most of it. It's very upper crust and priced as such. Oh and... More

Had Sunday Roast today at 2pm - they were running out of meats and the veg was limited to peas, carrots - what happened to seasonal greens, cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips. They had also run out of the one and only cheese on the desert menu. It was not very busy, so was a bit of a mystery why they seemed so ill prepared. The ground floor furniture has also been changed since we last visited - the light coloured wood tables do not match the rest of the decor. We have been many times before on both Sunday s and weekdays and what used to be a brilliant, cosy and innovative gastro pub has clearly lost its mojo. They need someone to put some sparkle back in the place or we will find another cosy Sunday venue, which would be a crying shame.

A civilised pub downstairs with an open fireplace and lots of dark wood. Upstairs offers upscale gastro food in an atmospheric dining room filled with nostalgic wall art and old posters. Good gin choice, fantastic cherry ice cream and carefully prepared mains.

I was at the reopening if this cute pub last Saturday. I was pleased to see it's not the typical smelly pub, instead the decor it's vintage and elegant and the atmosphere is very cozy. I tried a porter beer, haggis scotch egg, pork belly with shallots and mash and an indulgent toffee banana dessert, very good food indeed . All rinsed down by a nice bottle of red wine. It was a lovely evening, with good food and drinks, lovely staff, in a cozy pub, will be back for more! My only note : leave the skin on that pork belly! :)

One of the best meals I've had in London. Their fries/chips are a step above the rest. I'm not a huge fan of chips at all but the chips here just kept me going and going and going and going and going and going....

Busy downstairs with Friday night drinkers a couple of weeks ago, the dining room upstairs was surprisingly quiet. We were a group with lots to talk about and the location, food and service were perfect. This was my fifth visit - but over 3 years. My expectations have always been exceeded, whether by a gin recommendation, an interesting angle on a traditional menu item, relaxed but attentive service, use of the private dining room or just an all-round great experience. Opening hours have been extended to every day which is much appreciated.

I've been there twice (once for lunch and very recently for dinner) and in both occasions I had a lovely time. The whole experience was nice but I must highlight the quality of the food (that was what made me come back).

If you are looking for a quiet place to eat out, The Lady Ottoline is your best choice. The food is fantastic here - always freshly prepared and very well presented. The staff is polite and most importantly, not pushy. Definitely recommend it.

Very quiet on a Saturday evening. Dinner was excellent, and good value for money. A refreshingly interesting menu without being pretentious. Service was friendly, and the music was great if you remember the 90s. I imagine the upstairs dining room would be preferable on a busier night, but I can't really fault the meal or the atmosphere that we had downstairs. Nice original ceiling, too.
