We used to really like this pub as a quiet spot after work. Recently there has been an annoying trend where the tables in the front half of the bar are reserved, leaving very little space for everyone else.
Also the beer selection, availability and quality (taste and gas) have been iffy recently.
Was in on Wednesday. Beavertown neck oil was off and the other pale ale was flat and unpleasant. My colleagues who were drinking cask beer also were very unimpressed.
We left after one beer to go somewhere else (craft beer Co) with more seating and a better beer selection.
Staff could also do with an injection of personality and friendliness.
Disappointing.
