Really lovely, chilled bistro pub. The decor is lovely, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It s in a really nice location too. The food was absolutely delicious! And service was so quick. If I am ever in the area, I will definitely come here again for a meal!

Nice atmosphere and staff but Very disappointed by the food. The starters/bites are all fried and not really tasty. The dishes are made with good quality ingredients but it's not really elaborate and quite oily. We didn't even finish our plates. All this would have been ok if the price was good but we paid 90 pounds for 2 bites and 3 mains. Definitely not worth it. (This restaurant made me write my first ever review on google... just wanted to let people know)
Very disappointed.microwave potatos uncooked carrots.i said im allergic to onion and garlic and no pepper and they put everything on the top so just waste of money
Well decorated, cosy and clean. The upstairs rooms are great for a small private function. Enjoyed a very tasty dinner - the artichoke and garlic soup was particularly great.
Walked in with a few friends after a light dinner. Ordered drinks, no problem. Second round, some idiot behind the bar accused me of throwing up in the toilet, causing trouble etc. No idea why ... perfectly sober .. seemed like he was looking for an excuse ( maybe it was him ? Very short italian guy) shame seemed like a nice pub but this guy ... well he needs to be fired if you want this pub to work .. so no stars im afraid ... very disappointed in one particular person
This place seems unable to decide whether it's a pub or a restaurant. The place is too small to be a restaurant, yet there's not enough room and there's too many tables for it to be a pub. Atmosphere is flat too
Lay Ottoline continues the trend in London of quality gastropubs and does it very well. The pub itself has classic decor with wood panels and ornate lighting to give a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are all well versed in the drinks and food available, are friendly and willing to help with any requests.
The food is cooked to a good standard and as the same owners as the Princess Victoria near Shepherds Bush, their scotch eggs are particularly good.
The daily menu tends to change depending on what seasonal produce they have and is more akin to relaxed fine dining rather than pub grub. The prices, given the location, are pretty standard with the quality being anything but. The roasted cod was cooked perfectly and flaked beautifully and was accompanied with soft new jersey potatoes and pickled cabbage. The tortellini was simarly well prepared and presented and the fish and chips generously portioned.
The atmosphere was perfect for a friend's catch up meal and is also perfect for a quiet date. The pub also caters for more private dining with a separate dining room available to be booked.
Only criticism was that on the evening I went there was only one staff member serving the entire dining room (around 20-25 customers in total), but he was polite and apologised for the delay.
The Lady Ottoline is one of my favourite spots in London! The best beer you can find and fantastic service. The decor is gorgeous- especially the upstairs dining room! Extremely friendly Manager here too :D
Now re opened has wonderful restored interior, outside still being completed as I visited. Good choice of beers on and I hope that it has great success and is as good as it used to be, looking forward to many more evenings
June 2017: Superb evening, staff were attentive and gave great service. Menu is simple but food is best quality. Loved it
A lovely pub apart from the ridiculous prices. The dearest pub we went in in 4 days by a long shot. No wonder they looked shocked when i paid cash. No need.
Had a great Sunday roast upstairs. The rest of the menu looks great, but the drink prices are INSANE! Will come back to try something else off the food menu, but sticking with a pint to drink...
Very beautifull place, in a wonderfull area. Hudge flat served, nice athmosphere, for sure one of the best I ever Tried in London. A great place, in a wonderful neighborhood ... Great portion, warm welcome, one of the best places to test in London ...
Very warm and relaxed atmosphere, not particularly crowded during the week adn almost empty during the weekends. The crowd is made of lawyers and solicitors working nearby. Good pub food and desserts, good choice of independent beers (neck oil my pick). I was looking for a pub where I could have a beer, play chess and then have a steak: the Lady Ottoline resulted to be a great choice.
Cold and drafty in winter. Good selection of gin. Food was expensive for what it was. Beer ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again. OK for casual drinks, but tables reserved for diners.
Went there with my colleagues for Christmas dinner. Absolutely lovely place, the servers were lovely - they made the place feel like home.
My steak was seriously undercooked for my taste (we didn't actually mention how we want our stakes in our order) but they were more than happy to throw it on the grill again for me.
Lovely food - definitely restaurant worthy - you don't usually find food like this in a pub.
They have a large variety of drinks there.
I cannot find reasons to give less stars as me and my colleagues had an absolutely lovely time there and will be definitely going by again.
Best pub in Bloomsbury!! Cozy and dog friendly pub serving delicious food. I had a burrata salad and my friend had their burger. Both dishes were excellent! They have a great gin collection as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
Great little London pub. This pub has a friendly bar team and a really nice little upstairs restaurant. Well worth stopping by for dinner if you fancy some typical London atmosphere.
